Dear self-proclaimed manager/owner, perhaps it’s time to consider a business where you don’t have a customer-facing role…or invest in some conflict-resolution training? A €6 mistake by your waitress, which you claim never happened (feel free to rewatch your CCTV), could have been resolved in 10 seconds without further repercussions. When we told you that your waitress had explicitly said the bread was complimentary, you charmingly reminded us that “the only free thing in this world is the sun.” Little did you know that the 2 women you took for passing tourists actually have considerable influence over restaurant recommendations, including airplane food sections in magazines and travel & dining publications. What a small irony: the FREE recommendation that could have brought you considerably more than your overpriced bread… is now gone. And since we’re discussing things that are free: being kind to people is free too. Perhaps that is something worth learning? Meanwhile, we’ll return to our trusted Mangiare & Ristorante Messina & will find a recommendation of these two in the upcoming KLM magazine; lucky for you we sadly can’t put anti-ads in that particular place. You lost your free chance.

I don't understand the low reviews. My boyfriend and I have been a few times now and it was delicious every time. The lasagna is highly recommended.

Very disappointing service. We were visiting as tourists, and the menu wasn’t very clear, so we had a few questions before ordering. The waitress was trying to help us, but another staff member suddenly came over with a rude attitude and told us not to keep asking questions. His behavior was unprofessional and made us feel very unwelcome. There is nothing wrong with customers asking questions before ordering. Because of the way we were treated, this completely ruined our experience.

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. While one of the waitresses was politely explaining the menu and taking our order, another staff member approached us and raised his voice, saying, “Just order already. Read the menu. That’s enough.” His tone was rude, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. No customer should be spoken to in this manner. What made the experience even worse was the behavior of the security guard at the restaurant entrance. After learning our nationality, he began insulting and mocking our government. Such discriminatory and offensive behavior is unacceptable and made us feel deeply unwelcome. We expected professionalism, respect, and hospitality, but unfortunately, our experience was the exact opposite. We sincerely hope the management investigates these incidents, takes appropriate action, and provides proper training to ensure no other guests are treated this way.

Good location, spacious. It was a very hot day and A/C wasn’t helping too much. Not the greatest of food options but good amount of fingerfood available.

Excellent service, very friendly and flexible despite the crowds. Food was fine, pizza and spaghetti with Parmesan and olive oil. It is a bit cramped, but we didn't find this to be a problem.

I called to make a reservation, but it wasn't necessary. When I arrived, I was lucky enough to have a table available, but it's a fast turnaround time for one to become available. Very cramped seating and dark inside, so I had to use my phone to read the menu. The food was delicious. The pizza was already sliced, which was very nice.

Good, casual dining spot. Delicious Sicilian food. Excellent value for the location. I always order the spaghetti porticiollo, which is generously filled with seafood and very flavorful.

Had lunch at La Borsa and really enjoyed it. As someone who lives in Rome and grew up with pizza, I can say this was one to remember. It was especially nice that the founders of La Borsa are friends of my brother. You immediately feel that this is a place run with heart and soul. Last Tuesday, after years, I came back for dinner. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it's always been good. My sister worked here for a while. When I wanted to make a reservation, I saw a few negative reviews. I made a reservation anyway and went for dinner. The food was delicious, and the wine was good. The staff was quick and friendly. We even spoke to one of the owners for a while, and he was very helpful. We had a great evening with good food. We will definitely come back again. 👌🏻💪🏻👌🏻💪🏻

A place that feels so familiar. I've been coming here for years, and recently, the new young owners are doing a fantastic job. The food is even better, and I never feel as welcome as here. It's always nice when people recognize you and have a nice chat with you. Definitely recommended, and I'll be back often. A tip: you won't find a tastier lasagna anywhere else!

Stepping into Pizzaria La Borsa feels like you've accidentally landed on vacation in Italy—but without the long flight and jet lag. The food is so authentic that halfway through, I almost wanted to call my mother-in-law to tell her I'm moving to Naples. The pizzas are crispy, generously topped, and so flavorful you'll almost wonder if the oven is fired with love. The pastas? Like the nonna herself is cooking them. And the best part: it won't even break the bank. Authentic Italian food, but you'll still have money left over for dessert (do yourself a favor and order that too).

The food was excellent, service very good. Easily spotted an empty glass and not too much in your face. Lots of options on the menu, really enjoyed my pasta stew and good wine. Outside terras is ideal if the weather is good, good balance between shadow and sun.

Last Thursday evening, my girlfriend and I had a super delicious pizza here. I had the Pizza Rustica with mozzarella, chunks of a special homemade Sicilian sausage flavored with anise, truffle sauce, arugula, and Parmesan cheese. My girlfriend had the Pizza Salsicia with tomato sauce, mozzarella, the same homemade sausage, mushrooms, and onion. They even put a bottle of homemade spicy oil on the table to make the pizza spicy. These pizzas were so delicious, and it's been a long time since I last had a good pizza! The dough was delicious, and for once, it didn't taste like a tough cardboard crust after the third slice, but was really light and lightly crispy around the edges, right up to the last slice. The restaurant was recently taken over by two Italian brothers, one of the guys told me, and they're super nice and polite. I'd read some less-than-stellar reviews, but I think some people sometimes get carried away and think they can do whatever they want in a restaurant, which is a real shame. Unfortunately, dissatisfied people are more likely to write reviews than satisfied ones. I understand that Mark Rutte, Rene van der Gijp, and Rob Geus are regular customers, so I think they're doing something really well. The price isn't an issue either. Fantastic pizza with exceptional value in a prime location in Rotterdam city center. We'll be back soon!

The impression is twofold. On the one hand, I liked everything, but on the other.... One of the dishes was mixed up, we ordered one, but they brought something completely different. The food is delicious, no complaints. But, will we come back here again... unlikely....

We ordered a vegetarian pasta but not only that we found minced meat in it there was also a hair in the food! On top of that the situation was not handled properly. Really disappointed!!

It's a shame I can't give zero stars. Service clearly isn't a top priority here. I ordered two pasta dishes, one containing hair and the other meat (while I'm a vegetarian who ordered a veggie dish). I discovered this along the way when I discovered traces of ground meat. The solution: no apologies, just awkwardly asking for my money. And when I angrily walked away, the owner's son shouted, "You ate it!!" As if I should have known there were traces of ground meat in the dish. We didn't eat the other dish with the hair, of course. Unfortunately, I paid the bill because I didn't want to argue. I'm actually quite annoyed with myself. The quality of the food isn't what it used to be. They're clearly skimping on quality.

It's bizarre, to tell a woman she can't use the restroom. You can ask for a contribution, but refusing to let a woman use the restroom is rude behavior. I wouldn't eat here either; you already know what kind of service to expect.

I've been here many times over the past few years, and the new owner's takeover is a real improvement. The atmosphere is friendlier, the revamped menu is excellent, and the quality of the food has clearly improved. As far as I'm concerned, the restaurant is definitely one of the best in Rotterdam again!

We had such a delicious and affordable meal here. Incredibly kind brothers with a passion for the business. They proudly talk about their father's dishes, who also has/had a business in The Hague. Yesterday we were introduced to La Borsa, and I can assure you this place is a must-eat. After walking around for a bit, I decided on this place. First, I had a drink and waited for my wife and one of my grandchildren who were shopping at Zara. Things like this always take longer than expected and make me hungry. From that moment on, I was amazed. The menu was good, the service relaxed, and the food was pure Italian. No Dr. Oetker or Pizza Hut-style recipes, but passion and authenticity. That's why I'm writing this review. I was surprised and delighted, and I truly enjoyed Italian food.

Good restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. The food was good but nothing special. The staff also lacked English skills. Instead of sparkling water, we received still water, and instead of apple juice, we received orange juice. The tables are too close together. But overall, a good restaurant.

It was lunch time so the restaurant was full and it had tables near each other but I still got a comfy feeling there. The decorations were simple and nice. The staff was feeling nice and friendly. Food was really good! And non alcoholic ginger beer was the best thing (I love those)! But the minus was that my friend ordered salmon pizza and fist there were a couple bacon pieces in there, they made a new one and then there was one piece of salami. My friend doesn't eat red meat but she's not allergic to it. Just wondering how that can happen two times. But she liked it and just took the meat away. Someone can be allergic. But it was really nice and good, I would go there again! The menu was too big and there were too many options but we found good ones. 🤗

This restaurant was always a convenient place for me to eat after an afternoon of shopping in the city just for convenience. Since the takeover by two brothers, it has really improved. At first I went for convenience, now I really come here especially. The food has improved a lot. In addition, the two brothers who run the business are really friendly and social. It is nice to see how they have breathed new life into the place. Definitely recommended if you are looking for good food and a nice atmosphere

Since the new owner (2 brothers) the food is very bad and the food has become much less and even more expensive. If you ask something you get a blunt answer back. You have to wait a long time. Owner is in his nose and then cuts bread. I spoke to him about this, you get the answer I am sick. In the past when the old owner was there I went regularly. Now NEVER go back. PS I left him food and drinks. Didn't drink or eat anything.

Almost didn't dare to go here because of the many bad reviews, but still pleasantly surprised. Always came here years ago. I think there is indeed a new owner, but the pasta is still super tasty and the staff is actually a lot friendlier than the former staff. So I had a good experience. Especially go there if you feel like a tasty pasta or pizza in the center of Rotterdam.

Do not go here. Staff is very rude and unfriendly, very unpleasant from the moment we entered the place.

DO NOT go here (anymore)! Since the place was taken over by a new, young, rude owner (at least he says he is), it's not what it used to be. They have a falling apart high chair, and as soon as our child (just 1 year old) had thrown too much food on the floor in the opinion of the owner, a grumpy baby came our way. "A child just has to eat neatly from a glass plate and otherwise you just stay at home." The food was even taken away in front of him because he was just making a mess of it. Apart from the owner, it really didn't bother anyone. When we expressed our dissatisfaction at checkout, we were sent away in a very unfriendly, quick-witted and unprofessional manner. Even filling our little one's water bottle was too much for this man. We go out to eat quite often with our child and we have never been treated this way. Then just hang up a sign saying no children are allowed. We have tried to leave things a bit orderly, as always, but that doesn't matter here. Other staff do their best to remain friendly and also actively try to help find an alternative to the lack of a changing mat or something similar. Changing a child on the table for lack of an alternative is also unacceptable. The portions are smaller than we are used to. The negative reviews we see here are absolutely no surprise. It's a shame how years of name and fame are so quickly thrown into the trash. We have been here more than 10 times in the past 4 years but we will never come here again.

My husband and I have enjoyed coming here for years, but after tonight we will never again! The food is fine, smaller portions but otherwise fine. However, the treatment has really deteriorated! Firstly, in the absence of an alternative such as a plastic plate, my son, just 1 year old, was eating his bits of food from the table, when out of nowhere and without permission, a young man swept the food off the table in front of him. We were then continuously looked at by this man and it was clearly visible that he was talking about us. We felt looked away and very uncomfortable. When I asked this gentleman why he did that at checkout, he said 'what do you think?! He made a mess.” A 1 year old child!!! According to him, my son had to eat from a plate and if he cannot eat from a normal (stone) plate then he said we should not come. I expressed my dissatisfaction, but there was no understanding for this at all. We regularly go out for dinner with our son and we have never been treated this way. Turns out that this young man is now the owner too. When he said that I knew enough. It is clear that customer and child friendliness is lacking. And his behavior and way of communicating is inappropriate and rude. Good luck with this business and losing loyal customers!
