It was a fun experience, until one of the other visitors started throwing cookie crumbs. The entire basement was covered in water; otherwise, it's a feeding shack.

A very nice atmosphere, close to the water and the Erasmus Bridge. The food was delicious and served quickly.

Arrived at 7:00 PM and still nothing after an hour. Then I went somewhere. And this during Storm Benjamin. Disgraceful!

We made a reservation for 7:00 PM and arrived promptly. We were sent to the basement, where no one was there and the atmosphere was unusually unsociable. We ordered via the QR code and then had to sit for 45 minutes without receiving anything, not even a drink. It was as if they didn't want to see us.

I only recommend the pizza, which was great. The pasta, unfortunately, was not at all. Overcooked and served with either tomato sauce or cream sauce, plus various other ingredients. The staff was very friendly.

What a lovely, cosy restaurant! We have been there several times, food excellent: tasty and fresh salads, Pizza and Pasta very delicious and really loads to eat. Everything has a reasonable price tag, no hassle on tips- you pay as ordered. Full recommendations!

Happy Italy: always good. You can have a great meal here for a great price, with fantastic food. The truffle pasta is a 10/10! I recommend everyone to eat here. The service is also good. And the Nutella pizza is heavenly.

We ordered a chicken pizza and a four-cheese pizza at Happy Itally, and everything was incredibly delicious and perfectly prepared. The friendly service and the waiter's warm smile immediately put us at ease. To finish, I ordered a homemade red lemonade, which was wonderfully refreshing with its freshness. An added bonus: if you're coming with children, there's a lovely play area downstairs where they can have a great time. Highly recommended for both families and food lovers!

The waiters were very friendly. The value for money was great. The food was really good, the atmosphere was a bit lacking in music, but otherwise the rest was great! If you're looking for an affordable and good Italian restaurant, go for it!!! Plus, it's easy to get there by tram.

The food is just fine, nothing to complain about. But the service is terrible; I didn't get the children's pizza with bunny ears (the kids were really looking forward to it). I asked for the table to be cleared in between, but was met with a grumpy look. I asked for straws, and she forgot them. After repeatedly asking, I was met with a sigh and had to wait until she cleared another table. In the end, I sent my daughter upstairs. Oh yeah, and the children's plates were dirty. The staff are useless.

We came here last minute for my birthday. Despite it being busy, we got a private table in the back, which was really nice. The service was good and friendly, though mostly English-speaking, but that wasn't a problem for us. The pizzas were absolutely HUGE, fresh and delicious, especially with the basil oil and herb salt. You can take a pizza to-go box. Downstairs, there's a small indoor playground where the kids had a blast. They also loved the children's pizza in the shape of a rabbit. What a successful day! We'll definitely be back!

I recently ordered pizza online, but unfortunately, the quality was disappointing. The toppings did not stick to the bread and fell apart, so I ended up eating the bread and toppings separately. Based on this experience, I do not plan to order from this place again, as I felt it was not a good value for the money spent. Previously, I had a positive experience when I placed an order. However, this time the experience was unsatisfactory, and I am not sure what has changed.

It says on the website that no reservation is necessary. On site at 5:30 PM, they say no seats without a reservation. That's a service no-go. I would have made a reservation if it hadn't explicitly stated that it wasn't necessary. If you're going to fail here, you'd better not eat there.

We had a lovely time sitting outside on the terrace, I had made a reservation but on Wednesdays it is not that busy at 6pm, later it got busier, my girlfriend had pizza Funghi and I had pasta with cream and salmon 🍣 it was very well filled with salmon and pasta was delicious 😋 tasted a piece of the pizza it was also delicious

Big portions, great food, a very nice atmosphere, the design inside makes you feel casual and relax. Nice location, near to the Cubes and Markthal. We ate Pizza Spicy Pepperoni, it was delicious.

It was very cozy but it took a very long time before we got our food and drinks :( there were people who were before us who got it within 10 minutes and we had been waiting for a quarter of an hour and later we ordered some drinks and had to ask again because it didn't come! And when we ordered coffee it was there and 10 minutes later it arrived (cold)! Very unfortunate

Top place if you like a horrible feeding shack and screaming children

Horrible atmosphere. Really a nasty family restaurant. If you work here I really wish you strength with all the rotten children running around and screaming. The food is really pure shit. Like I'm chewing on a piece of cardboard. Service is fine but who cares when I'm in a room where the floor is covered with balls from the ball pit. I absolutely do not recommend this to anyone.

I remember very well when Happy Italy had just opened on the Binnenrotte. It was the first Happy Italy in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, a lot has changed for the worse... The food is still good. The pizza menu has become less choice... not as extensive as in the beginning. The service, slow... especially having to wait a long time for drinks... And having to indicate again where the ordered drinks were after waiting 20 minutes... They don't pay attention to the tables. Some people wait a very long time before someone finally comes to serve them. It was really not full or busy. There was enough staff. But they were more loitering than doing their work! Last time Happy Italy.

We were put next to a ball pit. Screaming children and flying balls everywhere. Food not special.

The pasta I had, nothing to complain about that, spaghetti was a bit overcooked. Sauce perfect though. Service was reasonable, they could be more friendly and pay more attention to taking orders. My wife had ordered a certain pizza, but she was served a completely different pizza. And the atmosphere was way below zero and has become a feeding shack.

By far one of the worst eating experiences I’ve had in a very long time. The fact that this place not only dates to state that ‘they have the best pizza in Rotterdam’ but also dares to reference itself to Italy isn’t only an insult to Italian food, but an insult to the whole country of Italy itself and all Italians in it. We chose this restaurant because of the ‘child friendly’ marketing and the fact that they had an indoor playground. When we got there, the indoor playground turned out to be in the basement. But we could not sit there as staff said that this part of the restaurant was closed. It’s not really an option to let your toddlers play unsupervised in the basement while we eat on the ground floor. Nor was it an option to leave our tables empty, while we sat down with our children in a part of the restaurant that was closed. Staff did not seem to understand nor care, making the whole ‘Happy Italy is the place to be for parents with children’ marketing nothing more than a hot air balloon. Staff did not speak Dutch (no problem). But we’re extremely unfriendly (unacceptable) and downright incompetent (a big problem). We ordered two children’s menu (which should come with a toy and a colouring page), a pizza and a pasta. When my wife’s white wine came I joked and asked if she perhaps ordered a children’s wine as the glass was smaller than her iPhone 15 Pro Max (for size reference). The children’s pasta was terrible. It did not include any of the ingredients advertised, we had to look for sauce and tomatoes. We sent one dish back to the kitchen, but no reaction or apologies from staff what so ever. We requested the dish be taken from the bill. Which the restaurant did. Then we asked why we did not received the colouring page and the toy with the children’s menu. We got a very rude “you did not ask for it” reply from a member of staff. So you advertise with a children’s menu that comes with colouring page and toy, but you don’t give it to your guests unless they explicitly ask for it and snap at them when the enquiry about it? Our other pasta was mediocre at best. The pizza was certainly not the best pizza or Rotterdam. When our tables were cleared, there wasn’t any ‘how was your meal’ or ‘ would you like to see the dessert menu?’ What we wanted was the bill, to get out of this restaurant as fast as we could. The bill came without any courtesy or ‘how was your mea?’ Needless to say we did not apply any courtesy with regard to the tip. It truly fascinates me that this restaurant’s marketing is all about child friendly, happiness, cozy atmosphere and fantastic food while none of this is true. The lack of hospitality, rude and unprofessional conduct of the staff was truly shocking. The food was of low quality. We will never come back here again.

Ordered food via thuisbezorgd, received the wrong order. (It can happen of course) Called and it was immediately resent. This only took 1.5 hours!! Outrageous! And when you then call to ask where it is, it is checked properly, but no compensation is given. You place an order and then sit there waiting for 2 hours without an apology or anything. I'll pass next time! 😡 very antisocial!

Sea food pasta is way too watery. Chicken mushroom pasta is dry and no taste. Many seats inside also outdoor. Even it's not busy indoor, still wait long have drink and to check bill.

If you want to wait an hour for your food and drinks or order anything at all, come here! Never again

The food is tasty, but I will not return to this location. Because we sat inside, we immediately had a seat (albeit next to the stairs, not cozy) and we immediately ordered food. It didn't take that long to get our food, but we ordered a pizza without peppers and we got a pizza with peppers and without peppers. Misunderstanding can happen. But we finished eating half an hour later and couldn't get hold of a server to ask for a doggy bag. Half an hour later I finally got the chance and immediately ordered dessert. 40 minutes later I tapped the same server again to ask where the dessert was. Received a bit of a vague response, 'oh... yeah, I think it's there somewhere' or something. A few minutes later someone brought it, but it had clearly been sitting for a while and was therefore not that tasty anymore. In retrospect, we should have just walked to the counter after the pizza and paid.

Don't come if you're on a food craving, it takes a long time.

Big portions. Lots of sauce. Nice to eat when you’re hungry, but don’t expect anything spectacular. The salmon in the pasta was way too salty. In the shrimp pasta, there were only 6 shrimps (just a fact, not complaining considering the price). We liked that we could choose a pasta form, they even had a wholegrain option

Positive point: upon entering we were immediately able to get a table (we had made a reservation). Negative points: we were asked to order via QR code, but that didn't work. The order came wrong: instead of 2 pizza toning we got 1 tuna and 1 chicken. Took a while and finally got our second tuna. The food was served and only when we had finished eating did we get our drinks. During dinner, a staff brought two extra pizzas that we had not ordered: and they started to react very annoyingly when we refused to accept those pizzas. During payment they had asked for a charge for 2 pizzas (which we had not ordered). Again a lot of fuss and strange faces from the staff, and we had to explain that we had not ordered or eaten those pizzas. In addition, the quality of food is very poor. It's chaotic and very messy. The last time for us.

Essen wurde mehrmals falsch an den Tisch gebracht und wir waren alles andere als „happy“ als wir das Essen gekostet haben. Das einzige was noch schlimmer als das Essen war, ist die Besitzer des Restaurants. Die Besitzerin war sehr unfreundlich und sich selber Trinkgeld gegeben.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy. The pasta tasted good (although the bolognese sauce was a bit on a “watery side”). I’ve also added mushrooms to mine (you have a choice of different toppings to choose from for your pizza or pasta. The staff was nice, but it took a while for them to make their machine work, so i could use my card. So, overall with atmosphere in the restaurant it’s nice.

Tasty food with good quality and prices.

Heel goed gegeten, pasta heeft uitstekende bite en lekkere saus. Koffie achteraf ook erg goed, sfeer gezellig. Bij het eten was keuze echter uit 1 soort rode wijn. Deze was echt heel slecht en smakeloos, beetje afknapper . Wat ontzettend jammer, rest was zóveel beter.

Ate at Happy today. Always great food. But today a lukewarm pizza. This was sent back and 'warmed up'. When we returned, the pizza was still just as lukewarm. Still stated again. After 10 minutes the same pizza came back. Hot, but hard. After a second time like that you would think that a new one might just be made or at least an apology offered by way of a drink or discount. Because not good is not good. The waiter didn't think the pizza was hot either. Long story short. Shame! And personally I have never had such a bad meal at Happy. Fortunately, the pasta from my group was good.

I usually dont take the time to comment, but this food really makes me. I have never in my life eaten a pizza as awful as this one. It tasted as if someone took sandwich cheese on the pizza, and decided to let the plastic cook with it. It felt like the pizza stood around for a few days and was then put in the oven. My friend ate the spaghetti bolognese, and also could barely finish his meal, because of the plastic taste and the sauce, that was basically watered down tomato juice. The food was ready, before my friend even started to pour himself his drink. Without exaggerating, the food took 3 minutes to be ready for all 3 of us. Google didnt publish this for some reason so this is the second attempt Id rather eat outside of the trashcan in front of the restaurant, as to ever set foot in this etabilsment ever again. The water was fine.

Unfortunately, too few staff. With a reservation we still had to wait 30 minutes, after the starter someone came after 45 minutes to say that one of our group's orders had run out. The other pizza that came next was cold. And it wasn't said that there was a final round, so we couldn't order dessert/coffee..

It didn't start well when there were no tables available even though reservations had been made. There were about 15 people who had no tables even though they had made a reservation. It took about half an hour for us to get a table after our reservation time. The employee who pointed out the places and was busy with the reservations was very grumpy. After we finally got a seat, it took another fifteen minutes before we could finally order drinks. After it took too long for the drinks to arrive, we left. Very unfortunate. It was also noticeable that they could not keep track of the tables, as abandoned tables were still full of all the plates/drinks, etc., which detracted from the atmosphere. It seemed very messy.

Pizza was good. For starters I had cheesy bread, which didnt seem to have cheese. Three waiters were ignoring us, when we were done and wanted to pack and go. Especially the lady without uniform, who seemed to be a manager. I was waiting for her at front desk to make payment, she ignored me and went the other way (downstairs)

I always enjoyed coming here, but lately I've noticed that the service and atmosphere feel different. The staff seems less organized and the hospitality I was used to is no longer the same. Small things that used to run smoothly now run less smoothly. Hopefully this will be addressed so that the experience will return to what it was before.

On January 25, I ate a 2*pizza and 2*pasta with the kids. Received a discount coupon via the website for 2nd pizza for free. Didn't get a 2nd pizza for free when redeeming. Because it only took effect on date x. It didn't say anything except the until date. What a ball tent. We won't be there anymore. The after-service from behappy@happyitaly.nl is also terrible.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the service I recently experienced in Happy Italy Binnenrotte. During my visit I had a complaint about my food, which was served cold. However, instead of a resolution or understanding, I was treated in an unprofessional and disrespectful manner by an employee. What surprised me most was that this person was not wearing Happy Italy corporate attire, but claimed to be the restaurant manager. When I indicated that my food was not as expected, she started yelling at me instead of solving the problem in a professional manner. She then spoke in a foreign language that I didn't understand, which only made the situation more awkward. I find this behavior unacceptable and as a customer I expect to be treated in a respectful manner.
