Super nice restaurant. The surroundings have a great atmosphere and are very beautiful. The interior of the restaurant itself is also nicely decorated. The food was okay. The starters are very tasty and extensive. I had a medium rare steak as a main course. The steak was a bit rare, but personally, I don't mind that too much. But be aware that if you eat here, it might be off and you might have to send it back. They were also a bit lukewarm, but otherwise very tasty. My partner had the spareribs and they were delicious. A nice big portion with lots of flavor! The desserts were also very tasty. A bit on the large side, but that's not a problem. We enjoyed ourselves in this atmospheric restaurant!

Fine atmosphere, but the food lacks flavor. What I find strangest... I asked for a bowl of water for the dog, and then you have to walk to one specific spot, whereas at other places you just get a bowl of water at the table for the dogs. I grabbed the bowl myself, and then I was told that this was clearly not allowed. I consider this poor service in 29-degree heat and unwelcoming to our four-legged friends. It would be a small effort to offer this upon the arrival of people with dogs. After all, I assume you don't want dogs running loose on the terrace to find the water bowl either. I then had to add water myself because all the bowls were empty.

This was our first introduction to Happy Moose. After multiple visits to Hudson’s and De Beren, we were ready for a new location. On a beautiful, sunny day, we settled down on the busy terrace. Our expectations beforehand were modest, partly because the restaurant has a somewhat more informal atmosphere than the aforementioned establishments. We visited Happy Moose on Father's Day with our family. The children chose the kids' menu with spareribs and mini cheese soufflés, while we went for a fish salad and the BBQ spareribs. The spareribs were excellently prepared: tender, well-seasoned, and the meat fell beautifully off the bone. The balance of spices and salt was just right. The fish salad was generously filled, with crispy prawns and flavorful smoked salmon. The children also visibly enjoyed their meal, particularly the sweeter spareribs and the cheese soufflés. The extras, such as applesauce, Haribo, and raisins, were also much appreciated. As a small suggestion: it would be a nice addition to add sweet potato fries to the menu. The regular fries, by the way, were fine — crispy and well prepared. In short: no fuss, just good, flavorful, and affordable food and friendly staff. We will definitely be back here again!

The fries were made with old oil, as if they'd been reheated several times. The food wasn't good. Two years ago it was very good, but this year, 2026, it's better to eat somewhere else.

Good food. We had lunch. I had a soup and bruschetta. My friends shared croquettes on bread, flatbread with beef tataki, and fries. My tip for this restaurant is to make the bruschetta a bit thicker, because it was just a thin slice of toast. With the soup, you get a small bread roll with butter; I personally would have preferred it with herb butter.

The hamburgers were not properly hot, and the ice cream even had ice crystals in it. The chocolate sauce was also cold. Additionally, the Dame Blanche was served in a glass, which we found less appropriate. Furthermore, we did not find the staff to be very customer-friendly. It seemed as though the focus was primarily on working quickly rather than on hospitality. Perhaps hiring more experienced or older staff would help. We understand that this is an affordable restaurant, but better service and warmer dishes would significantly improve the experience.

Sitting outside on the terrace is pure bliss! The lunch is truly exquisite! We always come back here, highly recommended!

Coffee and apple pie for a reasonable price

Always busy in the summer, but a good spot to visit as a family — especially after a day at Zoetermeer Lake beach, for example. The prices are ok and there are lots of vegan options. We often just stop by for a snack instead of a full meal. They also have ice creams for kids.

Always a pleasant experience at Happy Moose! It's a spacious yet inviting space. The patio is lovely when the weather is nice. The food is simply excellent, especially the burgers and salads. The staff is friendly and it's a great place to hang out with friends or family without rushing or fuss.

Great food, and they have a clear (separate) allergen list. I have a gluten allergy and had ordered the spareribs. The waitress herself indicated that the fries go in the same fryer as the croquettes, so whether I wanted the potatoes. When serving, it was also mentioned that the spareribs go in the same oven as gluten-containing dishes.

New menu since last time I was here. Much better! Delicious food, fresh farmer's bread, fresh vegetables, nice Heineken beer, good service. Prices are normal, certainly not too expensive for what you get. Outside you can sit in the sun behind wind screens out of the wind and enjoy the beautiful lake.. there is fresh water for the dogs. Definitely recommended in nice weather!! Oh maybe make a reservation in nice weather.

I organized a lunch for my birthday at Happy Moose. Unfortunately, we couldn't sit outside due to the bad weather, but the delicious lunch buffet that was ready in the cozy hall made up for a lot :) Also very handy that you have your own toilets for your guests in the hall downstairs. Unfortunately a very disappointing experience at Happy Moose. Waited 45 minutes for our food. After asking where our food was, we were told that they had forgotten it and that it would be fixed. Unfortunately, still no food after 20 minutes. Got up and paid for the drinks, after which the staff had the nerve to tell us that we were waiting "only 56 minutes". Very disappointing service, we are normally not the most difficult. We won't come here again!

I was there today and it was super tasty. The food was ready quickly and the service was top notch and nice and cheap, the atmosphere there was very nice, you can go there with your friends and believe me it will be great fun.

The staff is kind. Good selection of beers. The food we had was tasty and fresh. It took a bit long to serve and the desert Luikse wafel did not taste as good as I had hoped for. All in all still nice place with good ambiance

It was fine to have a cup of coffee. I think it's a bit dark inside. Sitting outside seems nice. Service was completely good. Were there a little before opening, but no problem going inside.

Yesterday we went for a walk through the NoordAa and then had something warm to drink. We took 2 Chocolate milk with whipped cream, coffee and a double espresso. You pay 4.5 for a double espresso!!!?? It was the size of the normal coffee and a euro for the whipped cream! You simply can't have a cup of coffee somewhere anymore, I think these prices are ridiculously high. I also saw the sandwiches and you pay 15 euros for a sandwich?? Where is it going? The place is nicely decorated and in the summer you can sit by the water and it is not the cheapest. Haven't seen me for a while.

We are enjoying the morning after my husband's birthday party. WHAT A SUCCESSFUL PARTY IT WAS. So well cared for and what a prime location. The satay buffet was absolutely great. Delicious and more than enough. The hostess is, in a word, wonderful and so sweet. The disc jockey is definitely recommended. He was very good and such a nice guy. IN ONE WORD. BOOK THIS LOCATION.
