Great venue, very friendly and hospitable staff. We had a a few awesome nights there in their wonderful atmosphere. Made our trip to Amsterdam even more enjoyable.

Having been born in Harlem this is definitely NOT soul food. The jerk chicken tastes nothing like jerk chicken BUT that doesn’t mean that it’s not still tasty. I had that with black eyed peas and cabbage. Friendly staff. Big portions. They DO play R&B and Soul music. But the parallel ends there.

The owner is a top-notch guy. They only serve alcohol, but they also have fantastic soups and burgers. I highly recommend them!

Great place to drink a beer at a reasonable price

Soul food describes it well :-) Cool place with the best nachos I've ever had. The waitresses were surprised that I ate what seemed to be a two-to-three-person portion by myself 🤷 This "food corner" seems to be a very popular meeting place for all sorts of people. I felt very comfortable there, enjoyed the delicious food, and drank a delicious beer. I highly recommend it.

We had several appetizers for dinner on the terrace, and everything was delicious, especially the ribs. The beer menu was extensive and the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was very cool.

Popped here for our first drink. Lovely person behind the bar, local. Didn't seem to mind the million questions asked and was very informative. Can't rememebr his name. We wanted to pop back before leaving (did the 3 day ferry trip) definitely will recommend. Wish we had eaten here too!

Beers were a bit pricey. The menu price didn't reflect the actual size of the beer.

Wat een heerlijke ongedwongen plek in een leuk gedeelte van het centrum van Amsterdam. Super vriendelijk en vlot personeel. En bovenal een goddelijk knapperig broodje (ik had de caprese). Smullen!

Such a gem! There are so many places to eat and we stumbled upon Harlem Soul Food and how lucky we were. The food was perfect, the fries the best we’ve had. We had to come back a second time for the fries. The lentil soup was a hearty portion with fresh bread, the enchiladas had lots of homemade guacamole and salsa. And the staff!! They were so friendly and helpful. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more. I never write reviews and I had to for this place

Nice friendly service love the atmosphere the food was great..

We only got coffee here, so I can't rate the food, but the coffee was great (we had two rounds on the terrace). Very friendly service, attentive waiters, fair prices. I'll come back next time I'm in A'dam. Compliments to the team!

Do not know why this place is rated so highly. Had a burger and it was mediocre, the cocktail was horrible, tasted like straight vodka with spice. Atmosphere and service were great, that being the only reason for 2 stars.

Delicious food! (Especially the fried chicken). Great service and very friendly staff! Already came here multiple times and never once have I been disappointed. If in the neighborhood, definitely check this place out! 🍻

Un viajero cansado, hambriento y sediento llegó a Ámsterdam y la mitad consideró irse a la cama. ¡Me alegro de haber salido a caminar y haberme topado con esta joya! Estaba vacío cuando llegué, pero estaba felizmente entre olas y tenía el personal para mí solo por un momento. Cerveza chouffe, palitos de queso, y el especial diario (¡increíble! La enchilada de res era medicina para mi cerebro exagerado y mi cuerpo cansado. Fortificado, me fui con un segundo viento en busca de postre!

The food wasn’t amazing but they have nice outside seating. Seems more a place for drinks rather than to eat at. The food also gave me food poisoning.

Back again here for kingsday 2025 for food and drinks Frequent visitor to this bar/restaurant when im in Amsterdam. Quaint bar area and lots of outside a seating in a nice area. foods pretty good here and a large selection of lagers. Last visited on Kingsday 2024 so limited menu. Great music and atmosphere. Friendly staff

A small bar/cafe with insanely good food, large portions and good service. The toilet is dirty.

Lovely vibe, good food, amazing people

3 nites in Amsterdam, 2 nite dinner and drinks here. Why switch it up when you have perfect. Tomato soup is a 10, as are the ribs. Other snacks just as good!

Great experience, large chicken club sandwich, large veggie salad, and very good fries. A friendly welcome from a young and attentive team.

Can't comment on food as we only stopped here for a pint. We didn't feel particularly welcomed when we walked in, the tables were all over the place so you could barely move, the drinks were very expensive 20 euros for 2 drinks. We sat outside.

Iconic street, iconic people, iconic café👍 The perfect place to drink one or many beers, maybe eat something while watching the interesting people walking up and down this hip, lively street. But I particularly liked the conversations with the landlord, who is a real "original" and also has a good taste in beer and music. Only the Warsteiner isn't necessarily the German model beer🥴... but whoever likes it.

Typical small pub, the staff is very attentive and friendly, gives tips about Amsterdam. Various local beers on offer. Finger food and burgers, we had the finger food platter with bitterball, onion rings, chicken wings and dips. Everything was super tasty.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The best bar/cafe in Amsterdam! The servers are very kind and attentive. We have come several times with a friend, and have never been disappointed. We really recommend +++.

This is my favourite place to eat when I’m in Amsterdam. The ribs, well, they are the best, but everything they serve is great. Also it is good to note that if you’re on your own, they will look after you, even when it’s busy. Highly recommend

Encontramos este encantador bar/restaurante por casualidad (después de haber sido apartado de unos cuantos otros bares que estaban medio vacíos, ¡sólo podemos asumir que es porque somos turistas! ) , la camarera nos mostró el interior rápidamente y tomó algo con nosotros en segundos. Pedí el martini expreso (uno de los mejores que he probado) y una pinta de cerveza para mi otra mitad. No sabíamos si queríamos ir a cenar ya que era temprano, pero no había prisa para hacerlo. Como hace un tiempo cuando pedimos los snacks en sus menús, nachos de res y el plato de snacks. Ambos eran buenos y justo lo que se necesitaba con unas copas! Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera, aunque se puso un poco ocupado en la noche una gente estaba entrando por bebidas. Todo el personal era educado y hablador y todo lo comprado era realmente razonable!

Staf is great and so friendly! Nice to see authentic people around, especially the bartender, he welcomed us with some gluhwein to warm us up and you could see he truly likes his job.

Nice bar to relax for a while..

Went in spontaneously for a drink. Very cozy, really nice service. We chose a classic for the drink: Bitterballen, firitted little savory balls with you. The right thing for in between.

Stopped off for a quick cappuccino while waiting for my taxi to the airport as the uber collection point is around 150yds away. Nice local cafe with a lovely atmosphere.

Our all time favorite place and been going here for 20yrs. Had some of the best nights out here with friends from all over the globe. Met new friends here and still in love with them all 20+yrs later now! Great food, great atmosphere, awesome service, fabulous terrace outside watching the world drive, skate, cycle and walk by with some crawling also involved after well you know AMSTERDAM 😂❤️

Good nachos and excellent service. They have several local beers and they explain each one very well. The interior environment is quite small, but smoke free! The outside environment consists of several tables outside which, if the weather is good, is pleasant.

Awesome, had lunch there several times in May 2023 when we were in Amsterdam for 5 days. Has to eat there again when our cruise ship stopped there for a day. Also drank a Lelebel blond beer, Awesome!

We were going to have a drink here, called the “owner” but when we got there it was suddenly no longer possible. Very unfortunate!!

Very nice experience in this café discovered by chance. Being French, I met 2 exceptional people...First of all, Didier, an incredible character...who perhaps knows France better than me...he is a great traveler who loves our country and our gastronomy...and finally a charming young lady whose first name I didn't dare ask (from Cape Verde) who is extremely attentive and polite...she knows her job very well. I highly recommend this Café which I can't wait to rediscover and eat there.

Pretty and friendly waitresses bring you your dishes with a smile. Tasty burger for me, hearty avocado and tomato salad for my wife. Good value for money. Close to the street so a bit noisy.

Food was ok, service was very disappointing, feels like management does not care about their customers. We had an issue with our order and had to ask for our food many times, with aggressive and patronising responses from the manager. Do not recommend

Despite forgetting an order which was eventually brought out 45 mins late refused to compensate for their error despite indicating they would. Zero interest in providing reasonable customer service after screwing up. Avoid.

Tried their Shakshouka, potato fries (unfortunately they have stopped serving sweet potato fries), and chicken wings. Shakahouka was good. Chicken wings were crispy, warm and properly cooked. And fries were just perfect. It was companied for us with Mint Ginger tea (which was served with honey), Latte Macchiato, and Tea (selection to choose from). And price wise it was worth it. And the service was good and person attending our table was courteous. Do visit to enjoy the chill atmosphere and nice food.

Awfull food, especially for that price. If you must eat here, at least avoid the chicken. 0.2l of coke are 3.80€, which is a liter price of 19€, what a joke.

Such a cozy place a little further away from the crowds. If you are looking for a good lunch, dinner or anything in between please walk a couple minutes more and choose them instead of something overrated and overpriced right in the center. Famous of their nachos, but their apple pie is also very worth trying! I wish the weather was nicer, we could have sat outside on their cool benches, but the inside is well designed as well. I also want to take note of their nice service. :)

Five Spanish friends went to eat, we tried all the recommendations of the friendly waiter, a success. We speak English, however one of the waitresses attended to us in perfect Spanish that surprised us, I just want her to contact me to give me my heart back. Standard price in Amsterdam. Recommendable.
