We've been coming to Workum for years. We've given this restaurant several chances, unfortunately without success. The restaurant's ambiance is very, very nice, and the view of the canal is equally lovely. Sadly, the service is a disaster. The service is poor, and you don't get the impression that you're a welcome guest. Furthermore, the menu is very limited and far too overpriced for the small portions. A real shame…

Absolutely recommended! The food was simply amazing and a true culinary highlight. A huge thank you to the entire team – the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and great with children. A special thank you to the kitchen and service staff for the wonderful organization of our daughter's birthday dessert. She was absolutely thrilled! We will definitely be back. Thank you for the fantastic evening!

The food was excellent, to begin with. However, the service left much to be desired. The table wasn't entirely clean. Then we wanted to order an aperitif, which the somewhat scruffy-looking waiter didn't seem to understand. We then ordered our main course and received the appetizer along with bread, tapenade, aioli, etc. When I remarked while clearing the plates that it would have been nice if we had received the bread, etc., before the appetizer, the owner replied: "Well, at least you have something now..." As I mentioned before, the appetizer and the main course were very, very good. We skipped the dessert (there was a choice of two). In total, we paid €165 for the aperitif, appetizer, main course, a bottle of wine, a bottle of water, and two espressos. Unfortunately, the expectations and the service didn't match up well.

Great and very delicious food we really enjoyed! Unfortunately the service was not so great and had some worse moments during my visit - waiting time for ordering and for delivery was really long. As said previously the food was worth it, though I'd still recommend this recipe place only when you have time and patience of 19th century gentleman.

We had a delicious meal at Havenrestaurant It Soal. We had a three-course surprise menu. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes and the wines. The service, atmosphere, and hospitality were (once again) top-notch, combined with a beautiful location by the water.

We were very disappointed. Our visit started off badly: despite having a reservation, we were neither greeted nor shown to our table. Instead, we were completely ignored. Then we had to wait about 30 minutes before we even received a menu. After ordering, it took another 45 minutes for the food to arrive. On top of that, there were several service errors: the wrong drinks were brought, the soup was served without a spoon, and a waiter spilled water on the table without cleaning it up. While the food itself was good and delicious, it couldn't compensate for the overall very poor service. It's a shame – we expected much more from a restaurant with this reputation.

The place is OK. The food is fine. The service provided by the gentlemen from Ukraine was somewhat enthusiastic, but there is still much to learn. Not a big deal. It's great that these people can get to work.

The waiter who served us was friendly but has no hospitality experience or training. For example, drinks were served individually or by the maximum of two without a tray, naturally not without spilling. When ordering a herbal liqueur, the waiter did not know if they had it in stock. I was advised to check at the bar downstairs myself. The staff cannot answer questions about the food ordered. It is a pity that you do not get lemon wipes or something similar to clean your hands with the spareribs. Fortunately, at my request, I received a small finger bowl with lemon water. We were unlucky that there was a group of screaming children downstairs in the restaurant. All the guests eating upstairs on the first floor were visibly annoyed by this. Nothing was done about it by the staff. Monkey Town would have been quieter. The quality of the food was fine.

In a lovely atmosphere by the harbor, we unexpectedly had an excellent meal, as we had only intended to eat typical Dutch food. Both meat dishes and very interesting vegetarian options were available. The value for money also seemed excellent. So, somewhat hidden away, a little gem in Friesland.

The spareribs were amazing, the schnitzel was also good, but the fish was a disaster. Really nice place, expensive, but okay if it's great. Unfortunately, the fish was covered in awful gravy.

We had a wonderful evening in Friesland's hidden gem. We had the 4-course surprise menu with matching wines, selected by our host, Chiel, and it was absolutely fantastic. The dishes are creative, beautiful, and delicious. In our opinion, this menu could easily have been a 4-course Bib Gourmand. Sep 20: We had another fantastic dinner at Havenrestaurant It Soal. We were very impressed with the delicious, culinary, and creative dishes, exceptionally good value for money. From foie gras with nuts and delicious umami salmon to wonderfully tender beef steak. Chiel always makes sure we have the best wines paired with Chef Godfried's delicious dishes. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians.

The food was very good and plentiful! An excellent fish soup! The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the outdoor area was great. I thought the price was reasonable. We had interesting dishes.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. The food was drenched in oil. The staff was friendly. Only eight guests on a Saturday night. And far too expensive.

A thoroughly successful evening! We visited this fantastic restaurant yesterday and were absolutely thrilled. The food was simply wonderful – utmost respect to the chef for this culinary masterpiece. The service also left nothing to be desired: extremely friendly, attentive, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. Our seat, right by the entrance to the harbor, was particularly beautiful – an atmospheric setting that perfectly rounded off the evening. The wine selection was also excellent and very well-matched to the menu. A restaurant that we highly recommend – we will definitely be back!

Beautifully located restaurant at the harbor in Workum. The service was very friendly. However, we waited a long time for the food, which then arrived at our table without enough side dishes and almost cold. For the price of the dishes, that was more than unreasonable.

Last night we had the 4 course surprise menu. We knew that they could cook here, but this time they outdid themselves. That was enjoyment at a very high level, on the first floor with a view of the canal to the IJsselmeer and the Workum lock. Absolute recommendation!

Nice restaurant right in the marina. However, the food and service are worth the slightly higher price. We had a very pleasant stay.

Been there a few days ago. 4 adults, 2 children. Service slow but nice. Totally salty food, including the children's. It doesn't work at all. Plus overpriced. I know it better from the past.

We had a delicious meal: scallops as an appetizer and duck breast and fish: mullet as a main course. It was really delicious with good matching wines. And very friendly and knowledgeable service! Recommended!

Ate excellent duck breast and leg of lamb in the harbor restaurant. The food was very delicious and the service was very polite. The ambience also immediately appealed to us. We'll definitely be back.

Spare rib, fish soup, homemade fruit ice cream, even the fries were unique! You can have a great meal here at reasonable prices. Service was top, children and dogs were more than welcome. You feel comfortable all around.

You can only enjoy the view at the top if you eat something. Okay, we thought and chose a spot downstairs. We just wanted something to drink late in the evening and asked for a menu. “You can have everything” was the answer. "We don't have a cherry beer." "Then a white wine, Pinot Gris?" "No, but we have a nice Riesling" We then ordered a wheat and a large pilsner. The large pilsner with sad foam came, but tasted strongly metallic, well okay. Wheat came back as expected at 0.3 - but that didn't matter. Since we were a bit disappointed overall, we wanted to pay. And so there was a bang at the farewell. €12.50 for a large Pilsner and a small Weizen. That was a very clear “niet welcome” For a cozy evening with friendly service, we recommend the Strandpaviljoen 't oude strandhuys. It's also not far away on the it Soul site

Rarely have you been so pleasantly surprised as at this harbor restaurant. A 5-course dinner prepared by a chef with a love for his profession, with appropriate delicious wines selected by the very friendly host. We had a very nice evening and will be back soon, thank you!

Schönes Ambiente, sehr laut im Restaurant. Unkoordinierter Service, Servicepersonal war trotzdem nett. Beilagen vergessen. Essen hat geschmeckt.

Uitstekend gegeten op het terras. Bediening kwam wat laat vragen of alles naar wens was. Maar het was ook erg druk binnen.

Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass ich so ein tolles Restaurant in Friesland noch finden würde! Meistens regiert ja Einerlei aus Tüte und Fritteuse. Nicht hier! Die Zutaten waren erlesen und frisch, und das schmeckte man auch, von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert. Ich hatte ein Rindertartar aus Fleisch von hoher Qualität. Danach eine Dorade, die auf den Punkt gebraten war: Die Haut kross und innen noch saftig. Dazu exzellente Beilagen. Das Dessert schließlich war ein Traum aus rotem Beerenmousse, Crumble und verschiedenen Cremes. Sehr lecker. Das ganze in schönem Ambiente am Kanal, der Workum mit dem IJsselmeer verbindet.

Ich war ein bisschen verunsichert hier zu essen, weil die Bewertungen so unterschiedlich waren. Entweder fünf Sterne und begeistert oder ein Stern und enttäuscht. Kauft sich das Lokal etwa gute Bewertungen? Kurzum wir haben es ausprobiert. Das Restaurant liegt ganz am Ende eines trostlosen Parkplatzes und ist von außen nicht sehr schön. Zuerst dachten wir dass das Gebäude vom Hafenmeister das Restaurant ist, aber wir mussten noch ein Stück nach hinten fahren. Parkplätze gab es genug. Auf der Wasserseite befindet sich ein kleiner Garten in dem man erstaunlich gemütlich sitzt. Der Blick geht auf den Kanal und eine Windmühle ist aber nicht umwerfend schön. Der Service ist niederländisch, also etwas verschlafen und hier verstehe ich wie es zu den negativen Kritiken kommt. Als deutscher Gast ist man in so einem guten Lokal besseren Service gewohnt. Nun ja es ist Workum und die Niederlande. Freundlich ist man allemal und die Getränke kommen sehr schnell. Es gibt mehrere Biere vom Fass und eine große Auswahl guter Weine. Ich war sehr glücklich mit meinem frisch gezapftem La Chouffe Bier aus Belgien. Die Karte bietet eine kleine Auswahl verschiedener auch vegetarischer Gerichte an. Und ich musste bei den Preisen erst Mal schlucken. Das bin ich in Friesland nicht gewohnt. Bei meinem Thunfisch aus Vorspeise war aber sofort klar, dass das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Großartige Qualität liebevoll und meisterhaft zubereitet und auch noch hübsch angerichtet. Das weiß jemand was er oder sie macht. Hatte ich nicht erwartet. Und hier verstehe ich wie es zu den anderen schlechten Bewertungen kommt. Wenn man die niedrige Qualität und Preise der üblichen convenience Küche hier in vielen Lokalen Friesland gewohnt ist versteht man vielleicht nicht, warum ein Stück Thunfisch in Sushi Qualität seinen Preis hat. Und ich verstehe die Verwirrung. Wenn man ein Campingplatz Restaurant erwartet und sich auf ein Schnitzel mit Pommes freut ist man hier vielleicht nicht am richtigen Platz. Hauptspeise war sehr gut aber umwerfend war das Dessert. Viele kleine Leckereien fast schon künstlerisch drapiert und unglaublich lecker. Alleine dafür lohnt es sich hier her zu kommen. Kaffee oder Portwein dazu würde gut passen. Die Rechnung für zwei war mit 135 Euro im oberen Bereich. Für das was geboten wurde finde ich es durchaus angemessen. Die Qualität war erstklassig. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und wünsche mir mehr Restaurants mit derartig guter Küche.

Wat een verademing! Een buitengewoon smaakvolle ribeye en een rumpsteak zo mals en zacht, een schnitzel die over de rand van je bord hangt en een goede ravioli. Gewoon super. En dan de medewerkers: De eigenaar super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Medewerkers punctueel en netjes. Niks geen lange wachttijden. Alles goed en snel op tijd. Een aanrader. Wij komen zeker vaker terug!

Eine sehr feine Küche für Kenner des guten Geschmacks. Das Ambiente am Yachthafen gelegen tut sein übriges dazu. Der Service ist sehr darauf bedacht dem Gast das richtige für seinen Geschmack zu empfehlen sei es das Essen oder das passende Getränk. Alles im allem sehr Empfehlenswert und einen Besuch wert.

Eten lekker, vriendelijk personeel maar de service is traag. Het restaurant was voor minder dan de helft bezet en het personeel kon het niet aan. Terwijl de manager op z'n gemak de tijd nam voor prietpraat met andere gasten.

We komen hier graag eten, een gevarieerde kaart en vriendelijk personeel. Ook de locatie is geweldig, uitzicht over de haven en de weilanden, echt een aanrader.

Mit etwas gemischten Gefühlen aufgrund der vorherigen Bewertungen, haben wir uns trotzdem entschieden den letzten Abend unseren Urlaubs im Hafenrestaurant zu verbringen . Wir haben in sehr schönem Ambiente gespeist und die Bedienung war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich . Wir haben Lachs und Rotbarsch gegessen. Beides war eine Gaumenfreunde! Wir sind satt geworden und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Schöne Lage, direkt am Kanal bzw. Jachthafen. Mit eigenem Bootsanleger. Geschützter, gemütlicher Außenbereich aber auch innen sehr einladend. Sehr nette Bedienung. Leckeres Essen, hervorragende Suppen. Wir gehen seit Jahren im Urlaub hier sporadisch essen und wurden nie enttäuscht.

Tijdens onze fietstocht hier beland voor een lunch. Lekker buiten zitten aan het water, beschut door de glazen wanden en de parasols. We namen de pasta Puttanesca. Wow, nog nooit zo’n lekkere pasta gegeten. Absolute aanrader! Heel vriendelijke bediening. We komen zeker nog eens terug!
