The rolls were dry, the vitello tonnato was not good, and the capaccio was discolored and looked unappetizing. I didn't finish it. Furthermore, the rolls were sparsely filled. It's a very pleasant place to eat, and the service was very friendly.

Had a delicious lunch, a fun concept where you can choose three (or four) different dishes. Perfect for someone who can't decide. The service was also incredibly friendly and fast.

We had a wonderful lunch. The waitress was friendly and took the time to help us even though she was very busy. The food was absolutely delicious and highly recommended.

The restaurant is in a prime location. Sitting outside offers a beautiful view of the market street. It's a lovely spot in the summer. We found the food to be really mediocre, often bland or greasy. The Tom Kha Kai soup was delicious, as was the carpaccio. But the other appetizers weren't. We also sat outside, and they frequently forgot about us. We could have had three more drinks ;-)

The restaurant is housed in a beautiful building. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly woman who showed us to our seats. She said her colleague would be with us shortly. That took quite a while. We had to wait 25 minutes before someone came to take our drink orders. Fortunately, they were brought fairly quickly after ordering. The service was otherwise friendly, polite, and patient, and also quite prompt in serving the dishes. The dishes were very tasty, but we sometimes had to wait quite a while for them. During dinner, I ordered a second drink. Apparently, I'd forgotten to order it, because I had to wait a long time again. When one of the other waitresses walked by, she noticed my glass was empty and passed it on. Drinks were brought quickly afterward. Normally, a waitress is assigned a certain number of tables to serve. Here, the staff was a bit disorganized. Perhaps a staff shortage? The concept is nice, but the execution needs to be looked at.

The restaurant is located in a beautiful old courthouse with a large greenhouse in the central area. The food is perfectly flavorful, though the portions could be a bit larger. What we're not used to is that a side dish like fries or coleslaw is considered a separate course. But overall, highly recommended.

Food tastes fine but dishes are boring, no imagination in the kitchen to make something of it. Portions are small. Many dishes were gone, no more to order. Menu is limited. Few dishes to share. Too bad, concept could be better utilized.

The concept is nice, the variety of dishes too. It's just a shame that on a quiet day you have to wait 30 minutes and then have to walk to the staff yourself to beg for a menu. The staff is more chatting or looking at the phone than focusing on customers, they even seem surprised that people want to order something. This is the umpteenth time that this has happened at the tasting room. Never again for us.

Het is een mooie, sfeervolle plek in het hartje van Sneek. Het concept is ook heel leuk, elke ronde twee of drie kleine gerechtjes die je zelf kan uitkiezen. Ik heb lekker gegeten, in ieder geval beter dan thuis en het wordt voor je klaar gemaakt. Maar ik vond het niet echt goed, ik heb in andere restaurants wel beter gegeten. Vorig jaar was ik er ook en toen had ik dezelfde ervaring. Dus voor de culinaire ervaring hoef je hier niet heen. Daarbij komt dat de stoelen echt niet meer fijn zaten na twee uren.

Goede bediening en lekkere gevarieerde lunch. Wel jammer dat je vooraf niet hoort wat er niet op de kaart staat en de mango niet bij de garnalencocktail zat. Wij beginnen ook twijfelen of de pokebowl wel bestaat 😅.

Zaterdag 31 mei met een vriendin bij jullie geweest voor een high tea. Daar waar het eten lekker was viel ons de rest nogal tegen... We moesten zelf om uitleg vragen, alleen werd ons verteld wat het eten was. Geen uitleg over de grote zware fluitketel, over het glas met munt citroen/sinaasappel/gember wat op tafel werd gezet, geen afvalbakje voor de theezakjes...vriendin had koffie ipv thee wat bij de reservering was gemeld. We moesten er zelf om vragen, net zoals een 2e kopje koffie...3 soorten losse thee waarvan jammer genoeg 2x rooibos... Wij hadden helaas het idee dat de aandacht/belangstelling meer uit ging naar buiten, naar het volle terras . Jammer, we moesten voor deze toch niet zo fijne ervaring wel €24.50 pp betalen...

Had a lovely lunch in this beautiful spacious building. Great concept: you can choose 3 or 4 items from a list of soups, meat sandwiches, fish sandwiches and side dishes. A wide choice so something for everyone. Great service too, who calmly explains the concept.

Heel mooie plek om lekker te zitten. Het eten was erg goed en de bediening vriendelijk en snel. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar! Wel reserveren want het is er lekker druk.

Nice concept with more than enough choice. We took our time to taste different dishes. The order was always taken quite quickly. Pace was fine. Occasionally the wait staff even pointed out our empty glasses (the first time they were picked up, but we were not asked if we wanted to order anything else, I think this boy was not allowed to take an order - yet). That was brought back quickly. Food quality was generally good. Sometimes the dish did not quite match the menu (carpaccio with pesto oil instead of truffle mayonnaise). And two of us found the chairs a bit firm after sitting for a while and started having back problems. They also have tables with benches, which may be more comfortable. Beautiful location and nice to sit inside - outside in the 'greenhouse', the temperature on the sunny day was pleasant.

Nice concept where (for lunch at least) you can choose different dishes/sandwiches as part of the menu. Everything was very tasty, the Asian touch is appreciated and the friendly service tops it off.

This is really bizarre!!! If you want to dine here, you must sit inside at 25 degrees. Outdoor dining is not allowed. Am I crazy or have they gone crazy at the tasting room? Now we understand why the terrace is empty.

Mooie lokatie. Vriendelijk personeel....alleen alles ging mis verkeerde bestelling niet 1 maar 2 keer. Een dik uur gewacht voordat het eten geserveerd werdt. En het eten was koud erg jammer. We hebben het niet gemeld waren bang dat het dan nog langer duurde.

A tasting room always remains a nice concept. They have different dishes from all kinds of cuisines here, so there is something for everyone. Ondanks dat ik gereserveerd had moesten we drie kwartier wachten voordat we eindelijk iets te drinken hadden. Om half twee aan tafel, om half drie werd de lunch geserveerd. Eten was prima, bediening ook vriendelijk, maar niet veel oog voor de klant. Ben benieuwd hoe het hoogseizoen hier gaat verlopen..

Slechte bediening. Wel een leuke tent en lekker eten. Laat de lunchkaart tijdens de lunchtijd op tafel staan. Zeker met jullie concept. We hadden wel meer willen bestellen. We moesten alleen steeds om de kaart vragen, maar de bediening was niet zo vlot. We zijn dan ook maar vertrokken. Jammer.

Unfortunately, my experience in this restaurant was anything but positive. The service was slow and disinterested, and the food was cold and tasteless. The portions were small and the presentation left a lot to be desired. All in all a disappointing experience and I will definitely not be returning here.

Delicious food at the Tasting Room! Because one of us has celiac disease, I had reported this in advance. Upon arrival, there was a note ready with the sandwiches she could eat. That gave me confidence and allowed me to relax and enjoy myself. The concept of choosing several small sandwiches for a fixed amount works well. It gives the opportunity to try different combinations. All of which were very tasty. The price-quality ratio is okay. The service is friendly and takes dietary requirements into account. We will definitely come back here. This restaurant is highly recommended, also for people with food intolerances.

The lunch menu sounds more exciting than it was. The food was delicious, but it was actually just sandwiches. A bit too frugal with toppings and accompanying sauces for me. For example, the cod could have used more sauce, the beetroot sandwich could have had more goat cheese spread and the tuna mayo in the vitello sandwich was also minimal. I expected more, but it was quite good for the price-quality ratio.

Heerlijk gegeten met mijn dochter gister. Hou van dit concept zo kun je van alles wat proeven,sfeervolle ambiance vriendelijk personeel.

Gisteren met 2 stellen gaan dineren bij dit restaurant, bediening is tóp, dranken prima, desert heerlijk, maar de tussentijdse gerechten m.u.v. de saté, niet heel best eigenlijk slecht. ( snitzel en hamburger gort droog ). 2 jaar geleden ook geweest, toen was het ook niet best, vorig jaar na overleg weer geweest, toen écht écht waar, erg goed. Helaas nu erg matig qua gerechten.

1ste kerstdag hadden we gereserveerd voor 6 personen. Helaas werd dit een zware teleurstelling. Om 19 uur waren we aanwezig en begonnen met drankje en broodplank. De 1ste rondje duurde even maar kwam....daarna kwam er helemaal niets meer, het was wachten,wachten en nog eens wachten. Tot we gingen vragen,kregen vaag iets te horen over storing,maar ze zouden zorgen dat we onze gerechtjes zouden krijgen. Nou na weer een half uur wachten waren we er klaar mee. Het was ondertussen 21:30 en hadden nog maar 1 ronde gehad. We zijn naar beneden gegaan en hebben gemeld dat wij er klaar mee waren en weg gingen. Hebben alleen de 1ste drankjes betaald en zijn weg gegaan. Dit was dus een teleurstellende avond geworden. Denkt lekker uit rten te gaan maar eindigd uiteindelijk bij de snackbar. Nooit weer!!

Supersfeervolle lokatie met geweldig gemotiveerde, attente, jonge mensen en heerlijke gerechtjes. De temperatuur en verlichting werden gechecked en eventueel naar wens aangepast. Toen de bediening na het dessert per ongeluk hoorde dat onze komst ter gelegenheid van een verjaardag was, kwamen ze nog zingen met vuurwerk. Geweldige avond gehad!

The food was downright bad except for the desserts. A meager bread board with a small piece of bread for everyone with some simple spreads and a tomato salsa. The wait for the main menu was almost an hour. Small snacks that were partly lukewarm or cold, bread with onion and mushroom, tasteless meat, the vegetarian recipes were not great either. Partly underserved, for which we received a free drink that was paid for at the cash register. With a surprise menu you also expect to be told what you are being served...now it was everyone's guess. We all went crazy for dessert, because we had left some of the rest of the food, except for the fries, which were tasty. It's nice that you took allergies into account. As a tip, for a large group, choose 1 or 2 people for the service, so that communication can go smoothly. Take a critical look at your surprise menu. You can certainly make something nicer out of this for the fairly high amount you pay for it.

So many positive reviews. Well, I really don't understand that. Heavy, heavy, substandard. How terribly bad. Firstly, it is much too cold in the covered “outdoor garden”. There was a draft on all sides and the patio heater that is normally outside could not make things much better inside. Dinner is in a tapas form. The menu is not really extensive, but if the dishes are good and tasty, that is not a problem. Good and tasty, well anything but that. Besides the fact that the dishes are very small, the quality is poor. Two fried shrimp were like a sponge full of oil. The sauce of the babi pangang was completely tasteless, the butter chicken was a bowl full of juice without even a piece of chicken. And let me not say anything about the pork tenderloin. Was there anything positive? Yes indeed. The sweet potato fries were tasty. But you won't come back just for that. It was also noticeable that collecting the order cards took a very long time. All cards in the entire room were standing up to be collected for the next round, but this was “deliberately” ignored by the staff. We skipped the last round, dessert. It took us way too long. In short, a big disappointment.

Met mijn collega’s een high tea bij het proeflokaal gehad. Het was in heerlijk. Diverse soorten thee en heerlijk broodjes, taartjes. Genoten!

We hebben via de Walrus een zaal gehuurd. Dit werd op het laatste moment omgeboekt naar het Proeflokaal. Ik raad het af om hier een zaal te huren of bij de Walrus. Ze gaan niet professioneel met je om.De zaal was hier veel te klein. Alles stond nog niet klaar op het afgesproken tijdstip en de afspraken rondom broodjes en en materialen zoals flip-overs waren niet beschikbaar. De luxe broodjes waren kleine kaiserbroodjes ham en kaas.De zaal moest worden omgebouwd en geluid moest nog aangesloten worden. Onze gasten moesten een half uur wachten voordat we konden beginnen. Tussentijds werd er niet gecheckt of zaken op waren en of er nog kon worden afgeruimd. Communicatie was zeer slecht/ was er niet. Al met al zeer ontevreden over Proeflokaal en de Walrus!

Geen uitleg, tafel werd niet afgeruimd, witte rum in tiramisu ( er waren kinderen bij) zonder dit te vermelden. Geen borden bij dessert. Verschillende mensen ( kinderen) die de tafel bedienden, zonder onderlinge communicatie. Erg rommelig. Wat een gezellige avond moest worden, werd helaas een deceptie.

Mooie plek met karakter. We zaten in de serre. Vriendelijke bediening. Drankjes prima. Wij kozen de 4 minigerechten voor 18, 25. Bij de tafels om ons heen zagen deze hapjes er goed uit. Toen we de 3 broodjes kregen vielen ze wel wat tegen. Karig belegd zonder iets extra erbij. De gepofte biet was alles wat er op het kaiserbroodje zat, geen ander zichtbaar beleg. Ook proefde ik de vis aan de biet, dat was jammer. Wellicht met een mes gesneden waar ook vis is gesneden? De andere broodjes waren ook karig belegd, zeker vergeleken met wat anderen om ons heen kregen. Iets meer aandacht zou zeker goed doen.

The imposing building was designed by P.J. Rollema . The saying on the building ''ius suum cuique'' (to each his own) is a reminder of the old function. There is a snack bar in the other corner. The Sneek weigh house stood here until 1945, where butter and cheese were traded. During the Second World War it was used by the German occupiers as an ammunition storage facility. On the last day of the occupation, on April 15, 1945, the weighing house was unfortunately set on fire by departing German soldiers. It was not until 1985 that the current building was built in a modern style, incorporating features of the old weighing house.

We vonden de bediening vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het diner met de gerechtjes is leuk, was lekker en goed klaargemaakt! Helaas was het binnen koud en tochtte het erg bij de ramen zodat we ergens anders moesten gaan zitten waar het minder koud was. Het gebouw is erg groot en hoog en ook de akoestiek in het voorste gedeelte bij het raam was niet goed. Heel veel lawaai van andere tafels en stemmen die ver dragen. Misschien daar iets aan doen, want je moet bijna naar elkaar schreeuwen om je verstaanbaar te maken en dat is vermoeiend. Deze negatieve opmerkingen over het gebouw zijn zonde, want het eten is goed, de bediening doet hard zijn/ haar best!!

In Sneek aangekomen op zoek naar een lunchplek en snel gevonden. Mooie plek op een klein plein. Menukaart erg verrassend. Je kiest drie gerechtjes voor een vast bedrag. De drie gerechtjes zijn meer dan voldoende voor een lunch, waren erg lekker. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. ps. Onze buren bestelden alleen de hamburger en kregen dus de miniburger. Hilarisch om de reacties van de stoere mannen te zien.

Gisteren met de gehele familie gegeten bij Proeflokaal. Zeer vriendelijk personeel, we voelden ons enorm welkom. Zelfs aan onze hond werd gedacht met een “tapas schaaltje” hondenbrokjes (erg lief!). Wij zaten binnen, waar het erg gezellig ingericht was. Personeel liep de benen uit hun lijf, ondanks dat was het erg druk en moesten we wat langer wachten op onze gerechten. Maar dit was uiteindelijk zeker de moeite waard. Ik raad dit restaurant zeker aan.

Food quite nice, smooth service But expensive

Het is een heel mooi restaurant met vriendelijke bediening. De drankjes kwamen ook redelijk snel. De tapas hebben we per ronde bijna een uur over gedaan. Dus na 4 rondes ben je er dan wel klaar mee en heb je niet het gevoel dat je voldoende gegeten hebt.

Afspraak gemaakt maar door medewerker niet juist in het systeem gezet. Kan gebeuren . We werden echter niet hartelijk ontvangen. wij hadden beiden niet het gevoel dat dit een leuk avondje ging worden. Weggegaan om elders te eten en dat was een heel goede zet. We hebben een top avond gehad. Hoewel het restaurant had gezegd met een oplossing te komen is dat niet gebeurd. Dat hadden we ook niet verwacht. Het is sowieso geen aanrader meer. Jammer van de leuke inrichting en verbouwing. Ik schrijf nooit recensies maar nu wel.

Up to three times he mentioned the wrong name in an unpleasant tone. We had the choice to sit somewhere or leave. We did the latter and enjoyed a very welcome welcome and delicious food elsewhere. As it should. By the way, I have eaten before with good service by nice girls.

There is plenty of space and it is in a pleasant location in the center. The snacks are not special (comparable to cheaper tapas restaurants) and drinks are quite pricey. Wouldn't go there again because I don't think the price/quality is in proportion unfortunately.

It wasn't the food itself, but… after 4 hours of eating, only 4 rounds. Ordering drinks was often not possible for half an hour, despite contacting staff. Last round of mixed hot dishes/desserts and only desserts arrive. All in all not a good experience.

Although the service staff walked past us several times, we were not served! Left after 15 minutes without any service contact! Too bad. In the restaurant “Onder de Linden” right next door we were served quickly and very friendly!

Staff is very unfriendly and they are unceremoniously no longer served.
