The service was excellent. we were welcomed with a nice little bite, the staff was very friendly. Then looking into the menu it actually all sounded unappealing. We both ordered a main, the plates were thick and the food was meh looking, my partners looked and tasted like a bowl of dog food, tasteless with some brown buckwheat “gnocci” kibble.. mine was the one with oyster mushroom , it was just about 3 slices of mushroom with some slices of potato taste was good but overall very disappointing. They are clearly trying too hard making the place and plates look a certain way , but really lack quality and taste.. very unfortunate.. i hope for them a better chef will take over soon.

So vegan food can actually be fun and tasty!

Fantastic restaurant just outside the center of Amsterdam. Precise and attentive staff, especially gluten-free. Entirely plant-based menu but with exceptional flavours. I recommend the vegan sushi and the vegan gnocchi.

Warm, welcoming and with a keen eye for details, Hearth is outstanding. The food and drinks were not only really good, but complex and take you on a journey in your mouth. Being vegan makes it even more impressive. Service was impeccable, Ambiente nice and comforting. If I wanted to point something out as a field of improvement I'd say the desserts are not their strong suit. Still would absolutely recommend. It's not an Insta Hype spot but a genuinely good restaurant!

We had such a great experience here. The meals are so very interesting and ingenious and tasty. The staff is super friendly and they seem genuinely happy to work there and to help you. The desserts were a little boring compared to everything else, if I'm being honest, but, overall, still 5 out of 5 stars :)

While in Amsterdam, we love plant-based cuisine. We really appreciated the welcome and the service. The dishes were as beautiful as they were good, a very nice discovery. We will come back without hesitation.

An attractive place with attentive service and an eye for detail. Although the dishes are not yet completely convincing in terms of taste, there is one experience that really stays with you: the Virgin tequila shots. This creative and surprisingly good choice makes h/earth unique, an absolute must - not only for Dry January, but for every moment. A nice addition to the Amsterdam vegan scene, with potential to grow further.

A pre-booked treat for our short visit to Amsterdam from the UK. The warm welcome and atmosphere was striking from the offset. We had cocktails to start which were perfectly mixed and each to its own superb glassware. Starters and mains offered next level vegan dining which is always such a treat. Again, the serving ware was chosen for maximum effect to complement to beauty of the food. The DJ and vibes were mellow and cosy for eating and listening. Just being there, being taken care of with so much grace and humour, just taking it all in, was just wonderful. What a gift. Thank you.

We have been vegan for 5 years and went to eat at Hearth in Amsterdam with sky-high expectations, thanks to the impressive score of 4.9/5 on Google. To be honest, we were prepared for disappointment, as unfortunately sometimes happens with vegan restaurants. But what a surprise! Hearth completely blew us away. The flavors were perfectly balanced down to the last detail, every dish was an adventure in itself. The service felt warm and genuine - you really notice that they have a heart for what they do. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hearth is not just a restaurant, it is an experience that shows what plant-based eating can really be. Definitely a new favorite for us! We will definitely come back during our next visit to Amsterdam.

I came here for dinner with my mum and it was absolutely sensational. She is not vegan and she said it was the best dining experience she’d ever had! Beautiful food and top tier service (Ines was fantastic!). I had the broccoli gnocchi for my main and it was delicious! We were also given several free tasters while we waited for our food and the wine was incredible too. 100% recommend!

Very good kitchen! Very nice, warm and kind service! We enjoyed each vegan plate that was served. A unique combination of tastes. We took an additional plate, because we couldn't get enough of this experience. We give this a full 5 star. We leave nearby Belgium and so Amsterdam is not that close. When we get back to Amsterdam, we'll definitely try to get back to Hearth again!!! Just a great experience of a great place!

Really a very good restaurant where you can simply order whatever you want without paying attention to the ingredients. Very special and high quality food, the “Mexican” sushi was really good!

Les légumes, magnifiquement travaillés, révélaient toute leur subtilité et accompagnaient avec finesse les autres mets. La vaisselle, élégante et parfaitement assortie, mettait admirablement en valeur les créations du chef, ajoutant une dimension visuelle à cet enchantement gustatif. Rien n’a été laissé au hasard, tout était simplement parfait, de l’accueil au service, l’ambiance DJ set, en passant par chaque détail qui sublimait l’expérience. Un grand merci pour ce moment unique !

I'm not vegan but my sister brought me here saying it's her favorite restaurant, now I know why. The staff is really very welcoming, the restaurant is very nice, the service is excellent and obviously the food is delicious, I was pleasantly surprised. We had a mix of starters to share, all very good and then we decided to share all the starters, I really have a hard time deciding which one I liked best. Very good desserts, especially the brownie. Highly recommended restaurant!

It’s not easy to make an excellent and original food with vegan ingredients. The only thing better to their food is the kindness of all the service that makes you feel you’re at home.

I liked the food but I had very limited choices (4 dishes on the entire menu). This is due to my soy intolerance, and the menu on the website unfortunately doesn't indicate that most dishes contain soy. I would suggest adding this to already mentioned "gluten & wheat" allergens.

We had an awesome experience at this restaurant—highly recommend it to everyone! The cozy and inviting location made us feel right at home, and the atmosphere was complemented by the perfect background music. The cocktails were delightful, and the food was absolutely delicious. Yesterday was our second time at Hearth and the experience we had was nothing less than impeccable. The owner is an amazing guy. From the way the staff gave attention to the allergy we provided when we made the reservation, to the food, the service and the wine. While neither of us are vegan, we would come back for the food any time. We have tried several dishes and keep being impressed by the combination of tastes as well as the presentation. On top of this, the staff has a really good knowledge and understanding of their menu including the wine and which wine would go well with which dish. We had an amazing experience talking to the owner about wine and were very impressed by how passionate he is about the restaurant, the food, the wine and the service. We had a really good talk about wine and were impressed with his knowledge, kindness and generosity. The way he took time to talk to us really makes you feel welcome and makes sure you have the best experience possible. We have, and will continue to recommend Hearth to anyone that enjoys a good meal and good wine.

Best meal I’ve had, maybe ever. I’m on a plant-based gastronomic tour of Europe. 3 major cities so far. Hearth is hands down the best meal I’ve had on this trip.

A lot of detail is put into every dish and the result is one of a kind. The sfaff are also really attentive. Eating here is an experience. Our favorites were “coral” red tempura, “faux gras” and “kind of blue”.

Hearth is one of the best restaurants in dam. The chef understands flavor and texture in an incredible way. One of the few restaurants I eat at and don't disappointedly think "I could have done better." The staff is always friendly and very attentive. The ambiance is immaculate. 11/10. Great to get a restaurant which caters fully for vegans and vegetarians! The flavours of the food were delicious. However we found some of the portions to be a little on the small size.

Overall amazing dining experience. We were in a group of 6 people and the dishes were delicious, the service very friendly and the ambience really cozy.

I went there to have my birthday dinner and it was just incredible! The food was just perfect and the service was also amazing! I had a great time there and i recommend it to everyone. The food is basically for everyone and as a lactose intolerant person I can say that sometimes i really struggle to find dairy alternatives specially when it comes to restaurants and at heart i can forget that. The prices are also okay and they go with the quality of service and food.

The place and the service are really nice and makes your fell confortable, we had a nice moment. However, we were expecting much more from the menu and the experience looking at the other reviews… The starters are maybe the best part of the meal, but the rest is lacking of something. The taste and texture are somehow not elaborated and harmonized. The overall price of the dinner is therefore quite expensive. This is a place I will unfortunately not coming back to.

I came to this place on my visit to Amsterdam in mid-October 2024. The first time I visited was in a slight panic trying to find takeaway places to order a quick late night meal that catered for my allergens. By that point, I'd walked around for about 30 minutes trying to find a place with no luck, until I came to Hearth on 11 Oct 2024. They'd sadly JUST stopped food service when I arrived, but the lovely owner, Marcus, took pity on my plight and offered some excellent gluten free and vegan quinoa sushi with dressing for free. I was amazed by his wonderful generosity that I made a point to come and visit to try the menu out properly when my friend from London arrived. And that we did. We visited on Sunday 13 October as walk-ins and everything from the food (presentation and flavour) the non-alcoholic cocktails, the ambience, and the service was nothing short of amazing. Unfortunately Marcus wasn't there the night I visited as a sit-down guest, but I did offer him one promise...this review, so I send my heartfelt gratitude for his kindness and generosity. He has a wonderful business. The food was amazing...I couldn't fault the flavours and textures. Please do yourself a favour and go - you will not be disappointed by the inventiveness of the dishes and drinks at this place. Thank you again! 🙏🏽❤️

Great discovery in this vegan restaurant! We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of flavors, especially the fried chili peppers which were delicious. A very nice find close to where I was staying in Amsterdam. The food and service were very good and the team was very friendly and helping with recommendations of food to eat. The food was incredibly good and unique, highly recommended place in Amsterdam.

The food was delicious, we had the broccoli gnocchi and the ravioli. The gnocchi was very tasty, reminded me of my grandma's cooking and the ravioli was kind of unusual, as it combined Asian with Italian cuisine and didn't really know where to place it. We also received a free starter, I.e. sushi, which was very kind and much appreciated. For dessert we had the browni and a cake, both of which were very tasty. The staff was kind and polite and took care of their guests constantly. It was a pleasure. We will definitely go back.

If you are in Amsterdam, like to eat vegan or only eat vegan and want to think outside the box (e.g. pasta with vegetables, falafel or salad, but please without ham and cheese), then Hearth is a must. Here you get upscale fine dining and truly exceptional courses (take a look at the menu and you'll know what I mean). The cocktails are also anything but standard. The location is very cozy and the staff is always super friendly. We felt very comfortable here and can only recommend Hearth to everyone (including those who want to see how good vegan can taste).

I came here with my partner on the first night of our trip to Amsterdam- it's great to find a fully vegan restaurant and we found ourselves spoiled for choice on the menu. The menu is full of really interesting choices-- a lot of the food is a fusion of two cuisines, for example we had a mezican-style sushi, and the charcoal ravioli with a teriyaki sauce. You are likely going to try something you haven't eaten before here so come with an open mind. The staff were all really friendly and made the environment feel really calm and relaxed. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully designed. Strong recommend!

Wow what a discovery! The dishes are beautiful and also delicious, balanced in flavors and texture and at the same time surprising and new. Finally, very nice people in the service and in the kitchen, which makes the experience complete.

We were in Amsterdam for a few days with our daughter, who is vegan, so we were on the lookout for options. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of really good vegan restaurants, but Hearth was definitely the highlight. While several of the entrees looked good, we elected to basically order all of the starters to share like small plates. Which was a great call. The tempura jalapenos and the beetroot "rawvioli" were the highlights, but everything was creative and delicious. We even indulged in dessert. The brownie was great, but the spicy orange whipped cream took it above and beyond. The cocktail menu was inventive, and the wine list was typical of what we saw throughout Europe...so much better than 99% of restaurants in the US. Lastly, the staff was fantastic. Not only did they provide great service, but they were friendly and welcoming. This is a place we would be regulars at, if it were in our city. Even if you are not a vegan, this wonderful gem is worth a visit the next time you are in Amsterdam.
