An absolute must for anyone visiting Amsterdam - especially if you enjoy fine dining and require a plant-based diet. Everyone is so friendly, and it is clear they have a lot of passion for what they do. The food is incredible - particularly the black charcoal ravioli. This isn't your standard vegan option - there has been a lot of skill and thought put into the food and menu. My only regret is that we didn't order the taster menu, as all of the dishes looked and smelled incredible.

We had a wonderful experience at Hearth yesterday. The staff was absolutely lovely, especially the waiter who served us throughout the evening. We had the tasting menu which was just delicious. It included two beetroot dishes, and even though beetroot is something I have disliked my entire life, I loved both these dishes. I liked the bold combination of flavours. The cocktails were also amazing, very well-made. Some things could be improved: the portions were really small and we left hungry. Before going home we even had to stop at another place to eat, that's how hungry we still were. I also thought the food was really expensive. We spent 150 euro on food and we still had to eat somewhere else. If the portion sizes would be bigger, you would get better value for money. The desserts were also quite underwhelming, flat in flavour, as opposed to all the bold savoury dishes that we had. A true vegan restaurant that is truly unpretentious. Imaginative menu with many surprises. A real gem and an outstanding addition to the Amsterdam food scene.

I was able to get a last minute reservation here (at the bar). I had the full menu available to me and let me just say the food was fantastic. The service was great too! I really wish I had a longer stay in Amsterdam, so I could eat here again. Ask for recommendations on what to order--you won't be disappointed!

A pre-booked treat for our short visit to Amsterdam from the UK. The warm welcome and atmosphere was striking from the offset. We had cocktails to start which were perfectly mixed and each to its own superb glassware. Starters and mains offered next level vegan dining which is always such a treat. Again, the serving ware was chosen for maximum effect to complement the beauty of the food. The DJ and vibes were mellow and cosy for eating and listening. Just being there, being taken care of with so much grace and humour, just taking it all in, was just wonderful. What a gift. Thank you.

The atmosphere and service were impeccable, but the food, especially the main courses, was, in my opinion, too heavy and too oily.

Came back here for the second time after a good experience some years ago but was left disappointed. The good: the cocktails are great. The bad: the food was meh and generally overpriced The ugly: service is not included and you're supposed to tip which is... something better left to the USA, not the Netherlands.

Without a doubt, best vegan restaurant so far I’ve ever been to. Not just in the city, but anywhere. Hearth is the perfect place for a date night, especially if you go for the tasting menu, which lets you share each course. As an Italian, I have to say their pasta was incredibly well made, but honestly every dish had such a thoughtful mix of ingredients and flavors that I was genuinely surprised more than once. It’s just really, really good. Plus, chatting with the staff between courses made the experience even more enjoyable, they’re super friendly and open to conversation. I’ll say it again: it’s really good.

Bomb, bomb, bomb! Our service was amazing and the food blew our minds. It was so good we made a reservation for the very next night and met a friend for dinner! Will def be back and if you enjoy epic vegan food please treat yourself to some Hearth!

Wonderful vibe and yummy vegan food that’s innovating. However the service was mixed, the portions too small ( hungry after £30 euros each, no drink), and I found it to be a little bland, ie, more garlic or stronger tomato taste perhaps using sun-dried tomato paste, or even herbs.

I was initially a little apprehensive about visiting, I didn’t want it to be stuffy with ridiculously loud music, where you can’t hear what anyone is saying. I was gladly mistaken. The staff were were very warm and pleasant, the food was interesting to look at, and taste, everything so full of flavour and very filling. Would recommend this place to everyone and we will definitely revisit when we return :)

Really nice main dishes and starters. Very unique and tasty. No complains until dessert time, we tried several and none of them were good: tasteless and boring. We asked for tap water, they brought open restaurant bottles for almost €6 a bottle. Insane.

We came here for the first time and absolutely fell in love with the place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier, it just felt really genuine. We tried the tasting menu and were blown away by the creativity and variety in each dish. Everything was delicious! Maja and the rest of the team were amazing; they explained each course with such care and made us feel truly looked after. You could tell the team really enjoys working together, and that good energy spreads to the guests. The jalapeño starter and the ravioli main were my personal favorites, but honestly, every single dish was a hit. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Little bit disappointing. The food looked extraordinary and beautiful, but we felt the flavors didn’t match. Things that sounded really interesting in the menu, tomato caviar for instance, were somehow lost and dominated by other much less exciting flavors or spiciness. The sushi also looked great as a list of ingredients. Turned out to be a pretty bland and dry roll of quinoa topped with a foamy dome of spicy mayo and other things that actually gave it some flavor. Don’t get me wrong, it was okay and tasty. But not much more. Don’t know, everything in the menu seemed like we’d love it. But a lot of people seem to love it, so maybe it just wasn’t for us.

Food very very good. I had the broccoli gnocchi (could have had a little more salt) with the 2 sauces and the potato chips. The portions could have been a little larger and the potato chips were a little too hard for me personally.

The decoration, the service and the visual aspect of the dishes were good only, we were left wanting for the taste aspect of the dishes. As French vegetarians who are used to these types of restaurants, we were a little disappointed with the taste of certain dishes given the price of the meal. We still had a good time in this restaurant.

I arrived in Amsterdam for a weekend, I have always been lactose intolerant and I was very worried after seeing the typical local dishes. I started looking for restaurants that were right for me and I found him. I had never been to a restaurant with entirely plant-based dishes and I left more than satisfied. Delicious and beautiful dishes... a real treat for the soul. Approved with flying colors even by my partner who is a carnivore and was therefore sceptical! We will definitely be back 💚

I think this is the best vegan food in all of Amsterdam. All the food we tried was excellent, but the appetizers in particular were mind blowing. We worked our way through drinks, starters, appetizers, soups, and main dishes. Short version: excellent food, vibes, and music. It's the kind of place you'd want to go to on a really great date or with good friends. In reply to complaints that I've read in other reviews: we were right under a speaker and the music was not too loud. Portion sizes: our portion sizes were excellent! We left not with a belly hurting because it was so full, but more a solid-warm-belly comfort level of full. Long version: I had the Indigo Magic mocktail, which was a melange of sweet notes mixing with spirulina. The combo was sophisticated. We also had the bread with aioli and olives, which was good, but the eggplant appetizer was smashing! The dish consisted of eggplant, bulgar, black tahini, and kale chips. Each bite was creamy and flavorful in a variety of ways. The Mexican sushi was the only thing that could top it. Each bite was heaven; light and amazing. The chipotle mayo elevated it to a whole new level. The broccoli gnocchi with a sun dried tomato sauce was very creamy and also evoked some subtle savory notes. The waiter brought us a strawberry and almond crumble at the end of our meal--it came with mandarin curd bubbles and creme. Like many vegan desserts in Europe, it was less about being heavy and sweet (as so many America desserts are) , and more about lightness, freshness--layers of airy perfection. The service wasn't fast--but I think it was about on par with other places in Amsterdam where the pace is relaxed. The restaurant was so cozy with off-white, natural textures, and warm lights. The best meal I have had in Amsterdam so far. Not just the best vegetarian meal, the best meal period. Everything down to the bread and olives was top-notch. The cocktails were particularly well-done, some of the best drinks I have had in Amsterdam. Very pleasant and well-decorated location. Kind and attentive staff. Not a single negative item to report. This is going to be my new go-to location for a great dining experience.

This dinner was our favorite on our recent trip to Amsterdam! Don’t let the all plant based menu deter you - it was so unique and flavorful that my husband didn’t even care that there was no meat (I’m a vegetarian so it was perfect for me!). Maja was our server and she was amazing. She recommend the tasting menu and described every little detail to us. It allowed us to try so many things that we might not have gotten to if we just ordered an appetizer and entree. Maja timed everything very well despite the fact that she had more tables than usual that night. We didn’t plan very well that night and had another reservation at a bar right after dinner so she even packaged our desserts so we could take them with us so we wouldn’t be late. This restaurant is not right in the City Centre (which is a good thing) but you should plan better than we did. You can take a metro and a tram to get there but you need to get your timing and direction of the tram right - we didn’t and were late and they still welcomed us even though they were busy. We will absolutely go back on our next trip to Amsterdam and will recommend to any friends going as well. Thanks Maja!!

All dishes are delicious and uniquely prepared, we had such a hard time choosing that we just ended up sharing everything 🌱 and the waiters are lovely, definitely follow their recommendations, they know what they’re talking about 💚 been coming here for years, my favourite restaurant without a doubt 😍

The tasting menu is a fantastic way to dine at hearth for the first time. The food was a culinary experience, flavours, textures and colours beyond what was expected. The chef of very talented and dedicated to make vegan food this good! I would definitely recommend this to anyone vegan or not to give a try. The service is excellent, atmosphere was very stylish with Not one but two Live Djs spinning records.

Amazing restaurant! This place goes to show that vegan food can compete with any other cuisine. I loved the ‘Mexican sushi’ and the spirulina tagliolini with almond and lemon sauce. The mocktails were yummy too. Just delicious! The service was wonderful, as well.

Hip place with 'sound bar', friendly staff, experimental menu and beautiful decor. The menu consists of entirely plant-based dishes. One plate looked even more spectacular than the other. Despite the presentation, I thought the taste of most dishes was tasty, but not very pronounced. I tasted several dishes such as the black ravioli and the different types of sushi, but unfortunately I found the flavors ordinary. Too bad, because I had high expectations and wanted to dine here sometime because of the vegan menu. When I was here (a Friday evening) the whole place was full and everyone was cramped together. There is nothing wrong with that, but it took a long time before we were helped and it was very noisy. Overall, okay food, nice place, but I wouldn't come back. Also because everything was quite expensive and then it was not worth it for me.

Vegan restaurant with staff who also speak Italian. Better to book so as not to miss the chance to try it because it is really very popular. Without taking us they found a place for two within 10-15 min. The staff were very friendly and available to advise. Also recommended for those who do not follow the vegan diet because the combinations are really interesting and innovative.

Have been to Hearth 4 times with my girlfriend and it's our favourite restaurant we have ever been to, not just in Amsterdam! The food is amazing, great drinks options, great atmosphere, friendly staff - food that even the most anti-vegan could enjoy!

Just amazing sushi experience in this restaurant even for total vegan food opponents. Probably the best sushi I had. The mains were also good. The only problem, really expensive water, we paid 10 eur. (for 2 bottles)

We had the taster menu and were served several rounds of delicious, unique, and beautifully presented dishes. It was fine dining with a relaxed, casual vibe and a genuinely friendly atmosphere. The live DJ playing mellow music in the background and the open kitchen really added to the experience. And on top of that, it was all vegan. Impressive. My wife eats plant based diet so we chose Hearth for dinner. It was so good. The Umami Old Fashioned cocktail was absolutely out of this world. Dining selections were all top notch, plus the staff were so friendly. Highly recommended to anyone who likes good food, but if your diet is plant based then I think you will love it.

I took my boyfriend for dinner at H/earth and it was, in a word, amazing. We both eat vegan and I don't know if we've ever eaten something so delicious. A culinary tour de force and service with a heart for the business. We took the tasting menu (recommended!) and were surprised by the (very friendly) chefs. The whole experience was great. 10/10 recommended!

The food was creative and delicious, though the texture of the buckwheat and lentil gnocchi was more dense than I would have liked *but* to be expected for those ingredients. Still, great taste and bright, fresh sauce. The broccoli gnocchi were right on. The red quinoa sushi was exquisite and the cocktails are phenomenal. We opted to have bread for dessert to soak up the sauces the aioli was unreal.

Simply put, the best cruelty free restaurant in Amsterdam. We were supposed to try a different restaurant every of our three evenings in Amsterdam, but right after the starters, we looked each other with my friend and agreed that we had to come back the next day. The staff was lovely, the place was cosy and the food was a blast of taste. The focus of our trip was to visit the city by bike and the main museums, but the time we've had in Hearth has been an unexpected highlight of our trip. We dined at Hearth last night, the service from the moment we walked in to the moment we left was superb. We were greeted quickly on arrival and taken to our table, our waitress was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We made our starter and main choice and loved that the kitchen adhoc sent small taster plates from the menu for us to try while we were waiting. The food looked beautiful and the flavour combinations didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was also great with background music and the buzz of other guests enjoying their meals. Dessert was equally delicious. My husband is not vegan and thoroughly enjoyed his meal as the menu was incredibly well conceived. We highly recommend Hearth and if we return to Amsterdam we will definitely come back.
