Delicious burgers, gluten-free option available. The service was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about celiac disease! We've been there twice in three days now :D

A bit pricey and the place gets very hot, but a wide selection and very good quality food!

Visited twice during a week in Amsterdam and couldn't recommend this place more. On the first trip my partner and I had different loaded fries each and both were amazing, especially the chicken satay fries. On the next visit we had the pasta. Carbonara was a pre-vegan favourite of mine so getting to experience it again was a joy. We say outside both times and the staff on both occasions were exceptional. Friendly without being over bearing and attentive to our needs. I especially appreciated the range on the menu. It's rare to find a vegan placewithb sucha wide choice. Thank you.

Great food, great restaurant and great service.

Located in a pedestrian zone, nestled among other restaurants, the Vegan Temple Bar boasts a vibrant array of colors and a cozy atmosphere. The selection is vast; we had a hard time deciding, but ultimately ordered burgers, pasta carbonara, and fries with bitterballen. They were also very accommodating with special requests. We were extremely satisfied! After the generous portions, we barely had room for the stroopwafel dessert! I was really looking forward to it! One portion was enough for four people. 💚 We definitely have to come back!

Amazing vegan food in the center of Amsterdam. Personally I needed a bit more salt, but that's just my opinion. The sides are pretty tasty as well. The staff was friendly too and it's very easy to vind. The stroopwafel is my personal secret tip, you have to try it!

Very good food. Met my expectations well. We ate pasta dishes and they were creamy and delicious. Also good desserts and a very good smoothie with pineapple, mango. Nice staff, can highly recommend.

Went with a friend who’s vegan. You’d think what are we going to eat, just grass? But no. Everything here is vegan and peak delicious. They have many dishes with a vegan spin on it. My friend could order anything and everything off the menu. So many choices. She was extremely happy. Her happiness put a smile on my face too.

The food was very good and the menu is rather diverse. The male staff member oddly brought the bill and card machine over when we had not requested the bill which made us feel like we were on a timer but the female serving staff were excellent and attentive and helpful.

Food didn’t live up to the hype. Ordered the temple burger and Alfredo. Both were kind of bland, basic things would have lifted the burger, such as smashing the burger patty, salt and pepper while frying it. Undercooked patty led to burger being mushy Alfredo tasted just like a ready made frozen dish I had as a kid, nostalgic, but a flavour associated with a 2,5 euro price tag. Overpriced food, disappointing for a vegan expecting something above average

I'm a greek tourist, my dutch friend took me to this restaurant. I had the pesto pasta and she had the chicken alfredo. Both dishes were delicious and filling, and and the staff was very nice. It was unfortunately way too expensive for me, though I don't know if it's considered expensive by dutch standards.

So good I came back the next day. Kind staff, generous portion sizes, and most importantly, great vegan food!

Bloody amazing food and that's coming from a non vegan. We had a classic burger and loaded fries and they were hands down some of the best cuisine I've ever had! Staff are attentive but not in your face so and ever so friendly. Moderately priced as well which is a massive bonus! Thank you!

The food needed salt and pepper. Other than that it was delicious. I asked for ice water and she proceeded to bring me out a TINY bottle of water. I asked if she could give me something bigger and she said no. I was charged for the water. 2 more guests in and she offered them free water? I won’t be coming back because of that. EVERYONE else in Amsterdam has no problem with giving just a cup of tap water. I just wanted water so I could eat dude. Weird behavior 😭 I hope other guests have a better experience with staff, and there’s a full understanding before an order is put in….

Delicious bowls and burgers. It's a bit noisy sitting outside, but that's Amsterdam city center for you. Otherwise, everything was great.

The burgers tasted fantastic. It only dawned on me while eating that they were vegan. The taste was extremely indistinguishable from regular burgers. The service was very friendly.

I try out a vegan restaurant in every city I visit, and this time it was the Vegan Temple Bar. We got a table for lunch without any problems and without a reservation. The food was really delicious, there was a good selection for the kids too, the service was very friendly, and there was also a nice outdoor seating area, a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Definitely recommended, and we'll be back on our next visit to Amsterdam!

We called in half an hour before they closed and allowed us to put an order in. Everything here was super delicious and the bacon on the burger was surreal. The black burger bun is just for gimmicks and it falls apart a little too easy

On my four-day trip to Amsterdam, I ended up eating at this restaurant twice—and both visits were excellent. The first time, I had the Smokey Tempeh Burger. Unfortunately, I couldn't take any photos because my phone's battery was about to die, but the staff were kind enough to charge it for me while I ate. I also upgraded my fries to the cheesy bacon fries (highly recommend!). The second time, I came back for the vegan bitterballen and a stroopwafel paired with a beer. Both were absolutely delicious. On both visits, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and always had smiles on their faces. Great customer service can make a good meal even better, and that's exactly what happened here. If you're visiting Amsterdam and looking for amazing vegan food, don't miss this place!

Good food but high prices. The beyond meat burger patties were not cooked properly. They were just thrown in very shortly to gain a black crust but the meat was not cooked at all. Tasted like raw beyond meat unfortunately. The waiters were nice, but very distracted and we didn't feel welcome to stay and order dessert.

I had dinner with my husband at Vegan Temple Bar in Amsterdam. It is a lovely place—for vegans and non-vegans alike—in the heart of Amsterdam. Because my husband prefers plant-based food, it is very nice to be somewhere where *every* dish on the menu is an option. The selection is huge: from burgers to loaded fries, pastas, and salads. I am not a vegan myself, but I had a delicious meal! We both went for a burger; I chose the restaurant's signature burger. I was a bit skeptical about plant-based cheese beforehand, but that turned out to be completely unnecessary. The melted cheese over my burger was deliciously creamy; it was somewhat like a cheese sauce. Additionally, the friendly staff stood out. When the waiter handed me my plate of food, it was a bit clumsy, and I spilled an entire glass of Aperol Spritz all over myself. The staff handled this incredibly sympathetically. I immediately received a new glass, and they brought us a free dessert later on (stroopwafel, yummy!). It wasn't necessary, but it did ensure that we left feeling good.

We went there tonight on our last day in Amsterdam and had an wonderful evening. The food was incredibly good (we had burgers with fries) and the service was amazing. In the end we had a really nice, interesting chat with the owner (who also served us) and when we wanted to leave, he told us to wait five minutes and came back with a stroopwaffle, which tasted just as good as the burgers. We‘ll definitely come back for the great food and nice people! Thank you for a wonderful dinner :)

The burger was decent but not amazing for the price, and the fries were frozen and undercooked. It's a shame, because the staff are very friendly, but the food clearly doesn't live up to its current 4.7 rating.

Outside table was a little unstable. The burger was tasty, but the bun was a little dry. They did an amazing job on the beyond patty.

Truly delicious. This has got to be one of the best vegan places I’ve been to - massive menu, and everything I ate was delicious. Non-vegan family members were impressed too! Would definitely recommend the carbonara - creamy and smoky, and the Parmesan is unbelievable. As someone who makes vegan cheese as a hobby, THAT is the level that I aspire to. Would 100% recommend to vegans and non-vegans alike!

After reading all the positive reviews, we thought we'd give it a try ourselves. Luckily, we were able to sit outside because it was really too hot inside. Unfortunately, the reviews didn't do the food justice, and after the first dish (the fried falafels were rock hard), we quickly paid and went looking for something to enjoy for the rest of our evening. Not recommended.

Sat outside - it was quiet, but you can sit inside or out. Had the carbonara which was lovely and reminded me of when I did eat meat. Also got to try Bitterballen. Totally loved them, only down side was they came with mustard for dipping which I’m not a fan of in any event. That said they were tasty without dipping. Not cheap but worth what you pay.

What a wonderful experience this was. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the food was truly fantastic. Everything here looks meticulously presented. The presentation on the plates is beautiful, such as the clean lines of the chocolate sauce over the waffles. The burgers and the generously topped fries also tasted exactly as you would hope. Highly recommended for anyone in the area.

Honestly, we love to see places offering so many vegan options. Despite this the food was actually really disappointing. Everything had a kind of frozen food vibe with no real love felt in the cooking. I really wanted to love it, but being sat outside right underneath the window of a McDonald’s with people overlooking whilst eating a very disappointing burger I was left with much to wish for. I’m sure they do some things well enough, but Im not sure if I could recommend with the amount of other options Amsterdam has to offer.

Dear Vegan Temple Bar Team, I am writing this not simply as a complaint, but as feedback that I genuinely hope helps you improve and protect the reputation of your restaurant. My husband, our six-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I visited your restaurant during our holiday in Amsterdam. We were excited to dine with you and ordered drinks, the focaccia platter with dips, and bruschetta. Unfortunately, while eating one of the dips, my husband discovered a large, sharp piece of plastic measuring over an inch in length. The plastic had already entered his mouth before he realized it and removed it. Had it been swallowed, or had our young daughter consumed it, the consequences could have been extremely serious. We informed the waitress, who consulted the kitchen and later informed us that the dish would be discounted. My husband politely explained that this was a significant food safety issue and that we did not believe we should be charged for the food, especially given the potential risk involved. What disappointed us most, however, was the response from the manager. We were told, in essence, that because the plastic had not been swallowed, everything was fine. This response felt dismissive of the seriousness of the situation. Later, after we mentioned that we might leave a Google review, we were told that only the drinks would be charged and that we should not leave a review. This made the resolution feel transactional rather than sincere. To be clear, we did not visit your restaurant seeking free food or compensation. We are visitors to Amsterdam and fully expected to pay for our meal. What we expected in return was empathy, accountability, and professionalism. Mistakes can happen in any kitchen. The plastic itself, while alarming, may have been an unfortunate error. The greater concern was the lack of empathy, the defensive approach, and the apparent absence of crisis management training. I would strongly encourage additional training for staff and management on how to handle food safety incidents. A sincere apology and genuine concern would have gone a long way. We remained calm and respectful throughout the interaction, and CCTV footage would confirm this. We are sharing this feedback because we believe your restaurant can do better.

I know Amsterdam is very vegan friendly city but this restaurant is probably the best vegan food I ever had honestly so much quality so much testy and price very very fare . I went there with 2 of my friend no one of them was vegan . They day after we all went back there hahaba

Excellent vegan restaurant, a worthy successor to the Vegan Junk Food Bar. The burgers have plenty of sauce and the steaks are delicious. We'll definitely be back!

The whole street is designed for tourism; this is one of the less bad tourist traps. However, a lot still needs to be done to make the restaurant a top vegan temple: the outdoor table was not cleaned, the pesto was more like a soup, the avocado tasted nasty, the price-quality ratio is poor, and it is not recommended at this moment.

The name is very misleading! It should be Vegan Tourist trap instead of Vegan Temple. Food and drinks very expensive and a Dutch stroopwavel for Eur 7,95, hilarious. Prices not mentioned on the website and location in the Lange Leidsedwarsstraat should have warned us. Place did not look clean. We also did not get back the correct change, be aware! Experience completely different from impressions on the website. Food did not look it was made with any love or care. If you look for a Vegan restaurant please look further.

The portions were generous, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere; I was very satisfied. It gets crowded around 6pm, so I recommend having dinner a little earlier.

Overpriced vegan falafel burger, gritty lettuce and disappointing skin on chips. Not as good as I was hoping for. Nice service. It was also really really hot inside the restaurant but the weather has been variable today so maybe that's just today.

One of the best vegan burgers I've ever had. Great flavor, great combinations, good bread, good fries, and a variety of sauces for the fries. Nice place and excellent service. My favorite was the falafel burger.
