Plant Based Sushi in Frederik Hendrikbuurt

These guys absolutely nailed it! We had a few starters to share and the chefs platter which meant we could try the full range of sushi. The service was first class too!

I had all the sushis + the tempeh + the gyoza and they all tasted and smelled horrible. Go to Vegan Sushi Bar for plant based sushi instead.

We've decided to try them for V day and there was a fixed menu which was ok. Everything started off right BUT we had to wait for 45 mins for our sushi platter. We've got a super mini starter and the worst miso soup on the planet. And then, they literally ordered grocery from Flink which was super unprofessional because they knew how many people they'll have anyways because their reservations were full. Anyways, then our desserts came in with a TEASPOON (only for me, my bf got a regular spoon) because they claimed that they were out of clean spoons. Just wash one, jezuz.. And we paid more than 100 EUR for 2 people. I strongly do not suggest you to go there at all.

Absolutely loved it! We've tried Valentine's day menu and everything was delicious! Combinations of flavours were very interesting and refreshing to the traditional idea of sushi. Really appreciating the fact that the food is still fresh and creamy without the use of avocado. Special thanks to Claudia, she made us feel welcomed and is a very skilled person when it comes to presenting the food!

Always happy to come back in this delicious small vegan Paradise. As a non vegan person this is one of my favorite places in Amsterdam where to have my mouth happy and my stomach too!

This is second time at here. First time we came at Spring and second time at Autumn-November and again this time we tried Chefs plate and every season this menu is changing. And this time our satisfaction was less than first time. We found the menu less special. I liked first starter seaweed kimchi(not in the photos), shishito peppers are okay but not special, we couldn’t taste something interesting or tasty for gyozas. Sushi rolls are very good we liked sake tasting and the waiter was lovely

Visited with my girlfriend on Saturday night while on holiday. Although I’m not plant based the food was still amazing, especially impressed with the non-traditional flavour combinations that’s worked amazingly. Abel was amazing too, service was quick & friendly and he was amazingly knowledgeable about the menu too.

Came in with my boyfriend (who isn’t plant based) & had a wonderful time! Service by Abel was outstanding as he was very attentive to how we were finding the food and helping us out with suggestions! Will 100% be going back next time i’m in Amsterdam!!

Heerlijke ervaring met vegan sushi's. De Bao Buns als starter smaakte verfijnt met de paddestoelen in combinatie met de rauwe groente. Van de paddestoelen mag er voor onze smaak nog iets meer bij.... De Chef Sushi Special zag er verrukkelijk uit en er zat veel variëteit in voor de smaakpapillen...echt van genoten. Wel een tip om nog wat meer rauwe of groene, verse groenten erin te verwerken. Dessert. Vanilla Green The Cake zeer lekker en Affogato top. Montgomery' s Ice viel in de smaak. Lekkere drinks en thees! Bediening is super vriendelijk en geeft goed uitleg bij het menu. Rustige huiskamersfeer. Zeker een aanrader!

I was there yesterday. They have excellent service, our waitress was very sweet and took the time to explain us everything. They also have a variety of options. Than you so much!

Not the best vegan/ plant-based sushi I’ve tried. The rice is not sticky enough, when you use the chopsticks, the sushi falls apart easily. There is no sea taste, like it should be called plant based rice roll instead of sushi due to the taste and the ingredients used. We had the sushi platter (49e for 2 persons) and in my opinion it’s not enough.

Ein wirklich schönes und vorallem gemütliches Lokal. Es gibt eine interessant Auswahl an veganem Sushi.

Heerlijk gegeten in dit knusse restaurant. Een mooie mix aan bijzondere smaken en gerechten. Extra lof voor de voortreffelijke bediening door Abel en zijn uitgebreide toelichting op de verschillende gangen. Absolute aanrader.

Beautiful food and excellent staff

Tijdje terug met een vriendin hier gegeten. We konden kiezen tussen ‘het fast-food’ restaurant’ of Plant-based sushi, en we zijn heel blij geweest met deze keuze. Het was echt AWESOME! Zonder gekheid, het was heerlijk. Sfeer was goed, personeel heel attent en het eten smaakte heerlijk. We hebben het menu afgenomen waardoor we van alles hebben geproefd, fijn volledig menu en goede porties. Aan het einde een volle mok koffie na. En ook nog een geïmproviseerde Esma door de awesome medewerker. Top avond gehad!

We love this place. Been here a few times and the sushi is always top notch! Definitely not a “cucumber roll” kind of place— their creations are fun and creative. The tomato nigiri is a personal favorite. Also recommend their sake tasting menu :)

The most interesting and creative vegan sushi I've had. Nice diversity and balance in tastes between options. They made their own thing when creating the menu, and it turned delicious. The service was also quite attentive and caring, even taking their time to describe the dish when serving. Very enjoyable experience and looking forward to trying their whole menu.

An absolutely amazing option for vegan sushi. The atmosphere was great and our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything perfectly.

Great vegan restaurant outside of the city center. I recommend the tasting menu with warm and cold dishes. For plant-based folks, this is an awesome place to get great food. And for all non-vegans, you’ll miss absolutely nothing here :) We had the Summer Tasting Menu which was delicious, also the drinks like the Purple Margarita where nice. Can really recommend.

Cannot begin to put into words how incredibly delicious the food here was. My friend and I went on a quiet evening and were blown away by how tasty the sushi rolls were. I'd come back to Amsterdam JUST for this sushi!

Currently on holiday and found this place as it is around the corner from my accommodation. If I could give more starts I would! My friend has an onion allergy and the staff have been amazing to cater for her! Exceptional service and exceptional food! I will definitely miss this place when I head back. We have nothing like this back home! Would definitely recommend you go here, vegan or not. Thank you so much!

We had the summer special. 3 starters, chefs sushi platter, dessert and coffee/tea for 45 euro's. Everything tasted great! Also, shoutout to the really friendly waiter that took the time to tell us something about the ingredients in every dish he served.

AMAZING vegan Japanese sushi, etc. OMG! It's the Best everything vegan sushi-related I had in my life. My husband and I stopped by when they were almost closing after passing by and seeing it packed with people. Boy, oh boy. I’m glad we Did. He had the house suggestion with a sample platter of everything, and I had the chef’s choice sushi with edamame as a starter. Everything was terrific, but I regretted not asking for the sample platter as well. So worth the money. And it came with salad, appetizer, gyozas, sushi rolls, dessert, and coffee or tea at the end. But my selection of rolls came with two sashimi's that we're to die for. And the ambiance, the music, and two thumbs up to the young lady who served us and explained to us what everything was made of. I’m glad we came here on the first day of our trip. We will come back.

Absolutely one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been too. That’s saying a lot, coming from Canada which has a large Vegan community. The customer service was impeccable. You will see me again, that’s for sure!

A hidden gem in the world of vegan cuisine – that's how I can aptly describe my experience at this small sushi restaurant. From the affectionate decor to the attentive service, this place offered an ambiance that warmed the heart. While the overall experience was undoubtedly positive, there were still some aspects that left room for improvement. The menu promised a rich selection of vegan sushi delights and other Japanese treats, and it did not disappoint. The freshly made Gyoza we savored as an appetizer were a true revelation. The crispy shell and flavorful filling blended perfectly into a culinary delight. And then there was the Miso soup – it was simply the best I've ever tasted. The depth of flavors and the perfect balance of ingredients were a true indulgence. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the dessert. The array of sweet delicacies was impressive, and the quality of taste reflected the kitchen's dedication. A truly delicious ending to our meal. However, there were also some weak points. The sushi rice on which the culinary creations rested proved to be too sour for my taste. Unfortunately, this dominant sour taste overshadowed the subtler flavors of the other ingredients. Additionally, the sushi rolls were not rolled as aesthetically pleasing as I would have expected. The irregularities in presentation affected the visual delight. Overall, the experience at this small vegan sushi restaurant was extremely enjoyable. The attention to detail in the decor and the friendliness of the staff created an inviting atmosphere. Culinary highlights like the freshly made Gyoza, the outstanding Miso soup, and the heavenly dessert definitely justified a visit. With a little refinement of the sushi rice and an improved presentation of the sushi rolls, this restaurant could become a true favorite among vegans and sushi enthusiasts.

Cozy and homely place. I tried all kinds of sushi they have and liked all of them. I also liked waitress, she was nice and friendly.

We gingen op goed geluk eten bij plant-based sushi. Maar wat een heerlijk geluk werd dat! Eerst en vooral is het een heel gemoedelijke, fijne plek midden in een mooie woonwijk. Daarnaast werden we supervriendelijk ontvangen en geholpen de hele avond: uitleg over de gerechten, leuke weetjes over de ingrediënten en dat steeds met de glimlach. En dan het eten nog! Wij verkenden de hele keuken met het tasting menu en kregen keer op keer de lekkerste gerechten voorgeschoteld: een misosoepje als start, een warme salade van broccolini en spinazie in een zalige tahinisaus en dan de japanse dumplings, die waren ronduit fenomenaal. En toen moest die heerlijke schotel plantaardige sushi nog komen. Die 5 soorten waren niet gewoon een streling voor het oog, maar ook echt een feest van smaak. Zelfs smaakvoller dan veel 'gewone' sushi. Afsluiten deden we met koffie/thee (naar keuze uit de hele kaart) en een heerlijk gebak (vanille, chocolade chaikruiden in een combo met rode besjes). Voor ons was dit restaurant echt dé ontdekking van 3 dagen Amsterdam. Hier is plant-based écht een culinair feest!
