Great food, highly recommended for a lunch or aperitif! Didn’t try dinner but we will!

Hey there we sat on the front restaurant and we saw the huge rat and we call the staff and we explained everything then he just said that ıs normal ın the thıs place.The curly hair and blond staff charged us 40 € ,we paid for not reason even we haven’t drunk our drinks and we tell everyone we do not recommended this places they have huge rat and rude staff !

We only had dessert here during a city walk. I had the apple pie. It was delicious.

It's a beautiful spot to sit by the canal. But unfortunately, the value for money wasn't right. The snacks were "okay," but the wine was undrinkable for us. It's a shame, there are much better places in Amsterdam.

Enjoyed our dinner and beers here! We got the flammkuchen and the fish and chips, both were very good. Restaurant had several people waiting to order and be seated, but there was only 1 waitress running around cleaning up and taking orders while 2 other waiters sat upstairs at an empty table and did not help. A few people who sat down after us got up after waiting longer than 15 minutes to get their drinks. If you are okay with a bit of a wait, the food and drinks are good.

Beautiful bar next to a picturesque canal, near Bloemenmarkt. We had coffee and sat at the tables by the canal, very pretty. The staff is friendly.

Quiet evening when we came but felt busy enough and alive, has lots of seating and plenty of choices of food and drinks. Excellent food beautifully presented and all in a timely fashion. Only comment was the waiter had so many tables he was running around! But no mistakes made with anyone so have to commend his service.

Quality restaurant definitely recommended

Very expensive. you would be absolutely ripped off. Just for drinking a 0.5L Ijwit you would be charged 14 EURO! Literally double the price compare to any other place. Same for a Lellebel. We were there just for the drinks so my comment only covers the drinks. Update: they replied to my comment explaining that it's the standard price for those type of beers in Amsterdam. While this reply might look convincing for a tourist, for someone like me who has been living here for 5 years is just simply lying. 0.5 liter of Ijwit is around 8 Euro in any decent bar in Amsterdam. Not 14 Euro!

We chose to sit by a canal view table which was amazing. We had apple pie and caffe latte. Everything was delicious and service was smooth.

We just had a drink on the terrace on a predicted hot day. Orders around us were repeatedly wrong. We were constantly being offered orders from other tables as well. We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks.

Delicious dishes and channel views

When we arrived the inside tables were empty so we sat down after asking if inside was ok, waited and after about 20 minutes of no table service went up and asked if there was table service inside, will be with you straight away was told, waited again mean while another group came in sat down and had drinks orders taken and served, we could not even get a menu delivered so left after a short discussion with the manager I presumed regarding their service.

As the name Herengracht suggests, it is not bad, always cozy and good food, enjoyed it a lot

Kind and friendly staff. They helped us a lot for our birthday celebration. 🎂 They have nice tables next to the canal. They also have a beautiful terrace in the back, with a nice campfire like thing in the middle 🔥 It really adds to the ambience. We didn’t really eat, I cannot comment on that. But the drinks were all ok.

Oke-ish, but with some small efforts you could do a lot better. Clearly part of a concept with fixed products, procedures and regulations, which is boring quite quickly and only good for the owners.

Poor service in the backyard, broken toilets (mens), hefty prices... So we waited 20mins for service, after we have been seated and had to go inside to ask the staff if someone would come to serve us then. Also when it came to paying it was like no one cared, we had to ask twice and stand in the way of the waiters to get their attention. Also ordered snacks that never came.

I’m not one to complain but we waited 25 minutes on the terrasse to have the waitress ignore us while walking past us constantly. After we asked nicely if she could take our order, she looked annoyed, she went inside and came back and took the order of everyone that sat after us before coming to our table. That’s not the way you want to be treating your customers.

There is such a thing as “Dutch service”, but this one makes it proud. I’ve waited for a glass of beer for more than twenty minutes two times in a row. I went and complained to a barmaid, she said, I’ll bring a beer you ordered to you, and, well, she didn’t, another 20 minutes passed till the waitress brought me a small beer. Waitresses are pretty, but they don’t want to do their job. I’m a computer programmer, but I’m better at servicing people than they are.

Extraordinary nasty man with gray blond hair who served on the terrace. Even though a light plus soft drink had been ordered for 2 people, a normal glass of water was not allowed.

We were a table of 8 people. As the restaurant was quite empty, they allowed us to seat almost wherever we wanted, what was nice. Thank you. There was some misunderstanding with one server but the final one who was in charge of our table was very nice. The food was normal to mediocre for the price they charge: 18€ for a quite normal Burger and….. Grilled Chicken at 25€ plus French Fries 5,50$ for our 4yo daughter. Crazy, no? However, the most incredible price was the one for the Water George XL Still or Sparkling at 6,50 euros. I am pretty sure it was refilled. Quite disappointed and not recommendable.

Typical Amsterdam setting: relaxed and friendly.

We sat outside along the canal. Our server was really nice & very helpful when she was around. It took a while for our drinks to arrive. We just had a couple of beers, so it was hard to understand the long delay. My husband ordered the black truffle ravioli, which he loved. The serving size was a bit small for dinner. I had the kale salad with feta. It was a good salad, but had WAY too much dressing & seasoning on it, overpowering the other flavors. Next time I would definitely ask for light dressing & seasoning or perhaps ask for it on the side. The table next to us ordered a caesar salad that looked delicious.

Nice place. Comfortable and a good atmosphere with friendly service staff. Food is ok, but overpriced for what it is. Some of the food we had seemed frozen and the menu description was somewhat misleading. Quality is lacking.

Highly recommended, we ordered and ate within 30 minutes. Service was very quick. The only drawback was that we caught a table that was crooked and the food and drinks almost fell down, but otherwise very tasty and filling

I went here for dinner this afternoon with my friends because of the nice weather. We looked for a place on the terrace for a while because of the crowds, but we were able to take a seat. The drinks were delivered fairly quickly, but it took a very long time before someone came to us to take our order. It was also very slow when ordering and the waitress didn't understand us either. The food was good, but the service definitely needs improvement.

Went with 4 people and everyone enjoyed it. When the weather is good you can sit outside on the canal and enjoy the boats passing by. The prices are okay for Amsterdam. If you want to eat and drink cheaper you will find something else in the area. The bread with the two spreads for 6 euros needs a lot of improvement, the spreads are delicious. We can still recommend this restaurant and would be happy to come back.

If the waiter is already annoyed for the first 2 minutes, the rest of the visit won't be good either. I've rarely seen a man in such a bad mood. Sorry, your job shouldn't be in catering.

Cenamos con mi esposa y algunos colegas. Un restaurante muy agradable y acogedor con amplios asientos y sección en la planta baja que se puede utilizar para grupos más grandes. Ambos pedimos la hamburguesa con queso. Me gustó que usaran un corte grueso de tocino en la hamburguesa (la mayoría del tocino holandés es súper fino) y la hamburguesa estaba deliciosa. Pedimos un cocinero mediano en la hamburguesa, pero estaba bien hecho, pero a pesar de eso todavía estaba jugoso. Pedimos las patatas batatas y las patatas parmesanas y mayonesas como acompañamiento. Las papas parmesanas son bastante grandes y pueden ser compartidas fácilmente por 2 personas. El servicio era bueno.

Had dinner with my wife and some colleagues. A very nice and cozy restaurant with ample seating and section downstairs which can be used for larger groups. We both ordered the cheeseburger. I liked that they use a thick cut of bacon on the burger (most Dutch bacon is super thin) and the burger was delicious. We requested a medium cook on the burger but it wad well done but despite that it was still juicy. We ordered the sweet potato fries and parmesan and mayo fries as sides. The parmesan fries are quite large and can easily be shared by 2 people. Service was good.

Nice staff and very tasty food. A few disappointments were the fries and drinks that were forgotten, the pieces of ice in the beet carpaccio, and the flashing lights in our room. This made the service feel a bit sloppy, but perhaps there were too few staff. Other than that we enjoyed our evening!

Yesterday we ate at this Restaurant. The food and coffee were good. Unfortunately the waitress tried to bill us more than we consumed. When I asked for the bill she asked if i need a receipt. After I said no she said the cost is 25€ (instead of 19€). With a tip I paid 27€. After we realised that we paid too much I went inside and the waitress inside immediately gave me back the money. So be careful.

We had a wonderful experience! We chose to be inside due to the cold weather but the ambiance was very charming. The menu offers a great variety, and the food was delicious. The chicken was tender and tasteful. The staff were friendly and attentive, making it a relaxing spot to enjoy a meal. One of the best meals we had while there. A perfect place for a casual lunch or a special evening out. Will definitely be coming back on our next visit.

TERRIBLE! Have been ordering dinner for years when we go sailing and now come for a cup of coffee. But the gentleman did not want the stroller to be between two tables at the bar, so we were sent away. Mind you, the whole place was empty. Regular guests, but apparently that doesn't matter if you bring your children. Never again! Rude behavior!

Their pornstar martinis are simply delicious and a real treat. The loaded fries are also recommended. A nice place for a fun evening out with delicious food and drinks. We will definitely come back!
