Very good local meal, the herring is very interesting in taste, delicate, not so fishy, I recommend trying it, I really liked it, nice service

I really don't know how the 5-star rating came about. First, it wasn't fried fresh; it was left cold and then reheated in the air fryer. The taste was horrible. Second, there was a strong fishy smell. I wonder if it was re-fried. It was completely inedible. It was incredibly salty. Why was it so salty? Are those who gave it 5 stars lying?

It is located in a fairly busy place, and therefore is extremely popular among locals and tourists.. We also decided to keep up and took a little bit of everything.... Everything was very tasty, but the local Herring is a total blast....😜 If you are nearby and you love everything fishy, add this place to your list - you won't regret it.

Waiting time 15 minutes...While there was a queue of people waiting one of the staff (owner) was slowly and peacefully polishing their equipment like if that was the best time for doing it... Herring Jonk stall servers lovely Brodge Herring and with onions & pickles. Shop is a bit difficult to locate ( its hidden behind a florist shop) but google maps did a.good job. its a takeway place so u need to pack and find a place to eat. Highly recommend it any herring/ seafood lover.

Be warned it closed randomly twenty minutes before the advertised closing time! I dragged my family here in the rain, we started queuing then suddenly they decided that the person in front was the last for the day! I'm sure the food looked nice, but I can't comment on how it actually tastes! 😭

I never would have imagined I'd enjoy a raw herring, onion, and pickle sandwich so much. It's spectacular, I ate two. There are some high tables next to the stand, but further along, near the canal, there's a large area where you can sit and eat comfortably, about 30 meters away.

We dropped by this street food vendor on a recommendation to try out the pickled herring and kibbeling. It was superb, you must try it. Don’t be afraid that the herring will be fishy, it isn’t, it melts in your mouth and has a slightly sweet aftertaste. I could’ve eaten a whole plate of this stuff, the combination with the pickled cucumber is fabulous. The kibbelings were also great. Hot, fresh and the batter nicely seasoned. The accompanying sauce was tangy with a hint of mustard - awesome. Put this place on your itinerary.

It's definitely THE spot to go for a traditional smoked eel, herring, and some other fish, served in a simple bun or just on a paper tray It's definitely the street food, but truly worth of tasting. You may not find that high quality simple (if one may call a smoked eel to be simple) food in the more premium locations. The place also have a very positive vibe .

Friendly man but very poor sandwich. You pay €5.10 for a white sandwich with 1 small piece of eel. So little that I threw away part of the sandwich because otherwise you hardly taste anything. At Vishandel Centrum you get 2 pieces of eel for this price. Shame!

Despite the two-hour round trip to retrieve it, I can confidently say it was worth every minute. The staff, a warm and welcoming duo, created an atmosphere that reminded me of home, with a touch of familiarity that was hard to place. I never imagined herring could be served in a sandwich, but the combination was unexpectedly delicious. I ended up visiting a few more times during my stay and would love to return. Have been there for a couple of times and this is one of the places from the downtown where almost all the time there is a line to the cash register. It's a simple kiosk from where you can get some pretty straight forward a couple of items menu - freshly salted fish like salmon and herring that could be served in a bun, with pickle and onion, there are also deep fried fish like cod fish, shrimps etc. You can buy also some hot and soft drinks. There is neither alcohol, nor beer in the place. There is a simple approach - simple serving in a napkin or the paper plate but it is extremely popular among the locals and tourists apparently. Great place to grab a quick snack on the go or to eat near the kiosk on some high tables installed for the visitors who want to eat their food near by. It looks like family business and the staff is professional and friendly. Even if there is a line to the kiosk they are working quickly and professionally.
