What a feast it was again! Not just the incredibly delicious food...with so many unique touches, but also the atmosphere, the Amsterdam humor, the tranquility, and the attentiveness when you want something different. They really hit it off! The family is happy again! Remains our number one fish restaurant in Amsterdam. Thanks!

A special treat, as usual, to visit Visaandeschelde and enjoy their quality food, service and pleasant ambiance. You get what you pay for and it is most certainly worth it. The weather was great and we could sit outside: which is even better as inside it can sometimes get rather noisy as the sound bounces of the walls and ceiling amplifying the noise................ As we live outside the city in a different town we usually come by car, and it is so convenient to get of the highway and park easily - albeit at a ridiculous price per hour, set by the City of Amsterdam ofcourse. Looking forward to our next visit.

We had the Amex Experience Menu at Vis & Schelde and absolutely loved it. The amuse-bouche were a perfect start, the kohlrabi ravioli was the standout of the evening, and both the weeverfish with artichoke and calamari carbonara were also highlights. The food is creative, beautifully presented, and truly delicious — a perfect mix of fun and flavor. Highly recommend!

It has been our favorite fish restaurant in Amsterdam and the surrounding area for 25 years and never disappoints!

As an Amex Platinum member, I was able to dine here through the card offer, something I'd been looking forward to for a long time. Unfortunately, I overheard the waitress tell another customer that "Amex guests only come for the free food" and that "it attracts a certain crowd." That really hurt me; I've rarely felt so unwelcome. The manager handled it politely and professionally, but it cast a shadow over an otherwise delicious meal.

I've been coming here for years, and I especially miss the tasting menu, which was always on the menu where you could try a little bit of everything. The food is still delicious and the service is fantastic. The atmosphere isn't always very welcoming because of all the businessmen. But it remains one of my favorite fish restaurants. I hope the tasting menu returns someday.

The last time was far too long ago, but the restaurant is now better than ever: the service, the cuisine, the acoustics... Everything is truly excellent. Watch out, it's going to be a star with you.

All the times I have been there with family and friends the food has been great and so has the service.

The food and service are excellent.

We thought the food was good, but expensive (I had lobster). The waiters were fine, but for the four of us we paid €700, which is quite a lot, and everything wasn't that good. Conclusion: a great restaurant, but a bit overpriced.

From the moment we arrived, we felt immediately welcome! We thought the timing was perfect: not too rushed, not too long of a wait, and everything was delicious and served pleasantly and clearly by the friendly staff. The wine pairing was also excellent.

A classic, highly recommended, and a personal favorite! Fish as it should be in a pleasant atmosphere.

Vis aan de Schelde is a recurring theme in my memories. For over twenty years, I've celebrated many special moments here. The restaurant consistently guarantees delicious food, with seasonal fish menus, fine wine pairings, and an atmosphere that feels both elegant and informal. It's truly an Amsterdam institution.

Lovely atmosphere, amuse-bouches, beautiful bisque, etc., delicious. Unfortunately, the oriental lobster was a disappointment with undercooked noodles and so many vegetables that you couldn't taste the lobster...

All the dishes were so unique. Great, friendly service; they really helped us with wine recommendations, too. A chocolate letter of congratulations with dessert was so sweet. We had a fantastic evening, thank you so much, and see you soon!

Bad experience I will not repeat

A wonderful place to enjoy a pleasant evening dining. This is my second time dining here. Once again, I was amazed by the beautiful and delicious culinary creations, the friendly and to-the-point service, and the cozy, uniquely decorated restaurant.

Fantastic place where quality remains high after all these years. This restaurant, with its fish dishes, should definitely be in Amsterdam's top 3. Worthy of a Michelin star.

We had a 5 course diner with wine pairing and it was fabulous. Started with oyster and another starter and a glass of champagne. Amazing food and wine, and the staff is just so nice and skilled. Not overly formal and with a lot of knowledge, they made us feel so comfortable. I loved the experience and it was worth every penny.

We had a wonderful afternoon on the terrace with delicious food; it's always great at Vis aan de Schelde! The staff is very attentive, making you feel like a true guest! My partner's birthday was celebrated again.

Wonderful! We sat outside in the evening and were greeted so warmly that we immediately felt at home. The tables were beautifully set. Small plates and napkins matched the restaurant's decor. Everything was tastefully and elegantly coordinated in blue and white. There were several small, delicious greetings from the kitchen between courses, and the dishes were beautifully arranged. Absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! We went for our anniversary dinner last night and were blown away… from the food and its beautiful presentation to the atmosphere, but most of all, the service. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, recommending dishes and making us feel truly looked after. We chose the chef’s menu and were treated to some bold and delicious flavor combinations To list a few, fish with grapes and for dessert: corn ice cream, popcorn, and caramel! (Told you it was bold) but absolutely delicious If you enjoy fish, this is definitely the place to go. We’ll absolutely be coming back! If I had one tiny comment, it’s that I wish the portions were just a bit bigger. We didn’t leave hungry, but a little more of everything would’ve been perfect, though maybe smaller portions are part of the concept? Maybe

Had a particularly nice evening at Visaandeschelde. Enjoyed the good service and the top dishes and matching wines.

1st time back since Covid opening in summer of 2021. Hottest day of the year so far on their terrace. Difficult to remember back to then but everything was super. We took a la carte starting with a little cavier, then smoked eel, and tuna and fois gras , for mains half a lobster and tuna tataki with soft shelled crab, finishing off with pinnacolde ananas, and scrompino (everything Lemmon). Everything was very delicious, well presented and top service.

Top restaurant. Food is incredibly good, and the staff is very friendly. Definitely recommended to go there!

The service is slow and unmotivated, the food is mediocre and in no way commensurate with the price. the ambience is moderate. The criticism is received without any significant emotions. most like an overpriced tourist trap!

El personal de camarera se equivocó en mi pedido y tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para nuestro plato principal. Cuando llegó hacía casi frío así que tuve que pedir que se calentara. Dos platos estaban demasiado salados y demasiado condimentados. 3 horas es mucho tiempo para disfrutar de solo un entrante y un plato principal, que es lo que mi marido ordenó. Los bouches divertidos eran sabrosos, al igual que el pan y la mantequilla miso, pero me fui cansado y frustrado.

We had a great meal, it was a nice relaxing evening for us, partly because of the staff. From oysters and Frito Misto to delicious tuna and Bouillabaisse. We were at table 6. And I would like to thank the Chef and his team for the delicious “extra” asparagus. Highly recommended. Top!

The food: pricey (you know this in advance) and super tasty and real pictures. The staff: Very hospitable, eye for detail and friendly. Terrace: Wonderful spot full of conviviality. Wine: The two whites by the glass from Italy were great. Recommended for all fishing enthusiasts.

In town for only a few days and a local friend recommended it to us - it was tremendous start to finish. Excellent Champagne to begin, fresh local oysters, dinner, dessert, every course a winner. Wish we lived here to make this our regular place!

Very nice restaurant near the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. Parking is easy but you do have to pay (option could be the Olympic Stadium). The place has a long history, you need a reservation to find a table because it’s packed. If you like fish; go! It was very good, nice attentive staff and the food was just really tasty and innovative. All the dishes we tasted were great and high on taste. Wine was excellent. Just a very enjoyable experience!

It is unimaginable that such a restaurant sells water from the tap, with or without sparkling. Micro plastics with or without bubbles. Other than that it was fantastic.

Once again we ate a delicious fruit de mer and drank a beautiful white wine! The fish was delicious and the wine list is very extensive. The service is always good and the staff are always friendly. I can recommend this restaurant.

An evening at "Vis aan de Schelde" was once again a fantastic seafood/fish experience. With delicious, unique dishes, very special combinations, and of course the pike-perch on the Chef's menu. From amuses, starters, main courses and desserts. All that combined with a very well recommended wine. A great ambiance and exceptional service from all the staff. Truly a privilege to enjoy this wonderful dinner with friends. Thank you on behalf of all of us. We will be certainly be back in the near future.

Gezellige, warme en professionele bediening bij aankomst. Lekkere broodachrige snacks en snel geholpen. 4 gangen chefs menu genomen. De twee tussen gerechten en hoofdgerecht waren echt heel bijzonder. 10 jaar geleden voor het laatst geweest. Toen indruk gemaakt en deze keer weer. We komen zeker nog een keer terug.

Vrij zakelijke inrichting van dit visrestaurant. Plezierige bediening en uitstekende verse vis. Lekkere amuses en goede Sashimi. Halve kreeft is goed, maar niet heel speciaal. Sancerre is goede combinatie. Espresso goede afsluiting.

Wij gaan hier regelmatig eten. Het is elke keer een feestje! Geweldig eten en fantastische service!!! Het is elke euro waard.

The restaurant managed to impress on all fronts: from the hospitable service to the refined dishes and the cozy ambiance. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The atmosphere in the restaurant is stylish and modern, with an open kitchen and maritime accents on the walls. The tables were attractively set with candlelight and elegant wine glasses, which immediately created an intimate setting. What was particularly striking was the excellent service. The waiters were not only professional and attentive, but also brought a relaxed, cheerful energy to the table. This was clearly visible in the spontaneous and friendly contact with our family, as can be seen in the photos. There was room for a joke and a smile, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Culinary delight The dishes were sublimely prepared and tastefully balanced. The first course consisted of a beautifully presented dish with sea urchin, beef and crispy apple strips. The combination of savory and fresh flavors was surprising and delicious. Another highlight was a sophisticated plate of what looked like a modern interpretation of takoyaki (Japanese octopus balls), topped with dried tuna flakes and a flavorful sauce. The textures and flavors were in perfect harmony. We enjoyed carefully selected wines with these dishes, which brought out the flavors even better. The extensive wine list offered plenty of choice, and the sommelier provided expert advice. Conclusion Vis aan de Schelde is an absolute must for lovers of fish and refined dishes. The combination of excellent service, a warm ambiance and culinary delights makes it the perfect place for a special dinner, such as a family gathering. The evening was a success and will be remembered for a long time!

Really very good food. I had a vegetarian menu with lots of small starters. Everything was really very fine and special. After dessert, sweet snacks were served, almost like chocolates or cookies. Everything is very small, but extremely tasty.

Top quality food, probably best fish restaurant in Amsterdam. From the amuse to the coffee, every detail is so nice taken care of. Luckily they do not aim for a Michelin star, so prices stay affordable... Makes me think of Dôme sur Mer in Antwerp, another legend worth a visit if you like exquisite food and service. Congrats!

Ella pre-ordenó el plato de mariscos y estamos muy contentos de que lo hicimos como toda la noche fue una experiencia gastronómica increíble! El servicio era de primera clase y la comida era de la más alta calidad! El plato de comida de mar era enorme con lo más fresco de la comida de mar - langosta , cangrejo , ostras y toda una plétora de otros mariscos fueron totalmente disfrutados con gusto 😋 sin duda volveremos cuando en la zona y no dude en recomendar este restaurante!

Había sido recomendado este lugar hace años y nunca llegó a ir. Si hubiera sabido lo que iba a conseguir, nunca me habría tomado tanto tiempo. Los dos pedimos el menú del chef y un plato era mejor que el siguiente - seguro que teníamos nuestros favoritos (los míos los raviolis y mi esposa les encanta el patín) , pero todo era fantástico, el equipo de camareros atentos - no podría haber pedido mejor noche de fiesta.

I had lunch here with a pre-ordered fruits de mer platter (for 1 person). The razor clams in particular stood out in terms of taste, I have never tasted them so tasty (fresh) anywhere. And, a detail, but telling: the mayonnaise was really good. Attentive service. Biggest minus in terms of atmosphere: very noisy.
