We had a great experience for a group of 12 as a birthday celebration. The service was excellent and the team were warm and welcoming. The restaurant has a great fun atmosphere for a large or small group. We had the set menu and the food was lovely with good sized portions. There is a great wine list to accompany this. I would recommend and will be back!

A truly enjoyable dining experience. Everything we tried was delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic, and everyone was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The prawns, calamari, and turbot were outstanding. Pair them with the tomato salad and a good glass of wine, and you’re in for a great meal.

Casual, industrial and spartan restaurant with just excellent seafood. We liked the concept of ordering at your own pace at the bar and enjoying your food in a tapas / shared dining manner. Recommended !

Last Friday, we visited Barracuda for the second time. The service, the atmosphere, and the food are always top-notch. You can taste that it is incredibly fresh, and every dish is perfect in its simplicity. So good, we're going again on Saturday!

I have been to Belgium, France and Germany. This is the only seafood establishment I will return to. The quality is top-notch at half the price of most restaurants of lesser quality. The food is tasty. The lack of full yet slow service impressed me more than other full service restaurants. On top of that..... the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would give them 11 out of 10 but there is no button to press

Hello, Today is our wedding anniversary so we made plans to come as a family with our 19 months old son. And as he is in between baby-toddler phase, sometimes he is not easy. This evening again he cried a few times and we did our best to calm him down. But those were not big, unstoppable moments. He didn’t make a ‘scene’. And as I got my second alcohol free cava, the waitress decided to have a conversation with me about our baby. She told me that he is making too much noise, it may make the other tables uncomfortable, and maybe I can take him out. Excuse me, but what is this attitude? Your place is known to be a kid friendly place, it’s not like ‘adults only’ or a really luxury place etc. And he was not harming anyone, hurting anyone.. he just tries to express himself. The food is always good, but the mood and attitude is definitely quite the opposite. Probably this won’t effect anything at all from your side, but we will not visit your place again and I wanted this to be known. Goodbye.

Every time I come here - it's just perfect. Celebration, or just a dinner on the weekend - every time I enjoy so much! Best shrimps, calamari, and oysters. Good beers. Good prices! And the service is amazing. Can't wait to come back!

The vibe is truly special, and the staff is incredibly kind and professional they make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. I highly recommend starting with a fine glass of wine and the oysters, followed by the fennel salad and tomato bruschetta everything tasted incredibly fresh. What a fantastic restaurant. This time we had a lovely meal with my husband and children. The atmosphere is top-notch, the service so nice, and the food delicious. The kids ordered an ice cream and the robot brought it with fireworks—it was really awesome!! We enjoyed it immensely and can't wait to come back!

This restaurant is certainly unusual, being located in a warehouse, and the seafood is good, but it's not the ecstasy described in some guides. Perhaps it's because there's a robot waiter? 😅 There are other places in North Amsterdam that are much better. Disappointed

We had a delicious meal. Great atmosphere and a nice concept. The only downside I found was the selection of red wine by the glass. There was only one wine by the glass. And it was undrinkable. It tasted like spoiled blackcurrant. Bubbles along the rim of the glass.

Great restaurant for lovers of fish and seafood. Huge space, unfussy canteen vibes for relaxed dining. Good menu and generous portions at reasonable prices. Staff friendly. The only caveat (for a tourist based in 'old' Amsterdam) is that it's a bit of a trek from the ferry through not especially inspiring residential and industrial type areas. Worth the effort to visit though!

It’s a kind of self service seafood restaurant. Food is ok but some of the portions are very funny small eg: 1 anchovies. You should order at the bar and robots are serving.

The service was superb and friendly, the food was fantastic, tasty, and varied, at a nice, spacious table at the back right. At first, I thought ordering food and drinks ourselves would cause long waits, but I didn't notice that at all; it was a successful evening, many thanks.

The atmosphere is always good and relaxed! Lots of people, yet still cozy. Not noisy. The food is tasty. The turbot could be a bit bigger. The wine glasses are too small. Wine needs to breathe, and that doesn't benefit the taste in a mini-glass filled to the brim. It's nice to be able to look into the kitchen, and there is a beautiful bar. Very friendly staff! Definitely reserve well in advance on weekends, for both lunch and dinner! Especially now that spring has arrived. Easy parking by car; just present your debit card when you drive into the parking lot and also when you leave. It costs 5 euros. Or go there by bike or on foot at the NDSM.

Nice, easy place. Very noisy at the back though. You're better off sitting closer to the front. The Zamburinas were delicious.

The ambience was very nice—just a casual, family-style diner kind of place. The wine was good, and the branding and interior were nice, but that’s where the good things ended. The food was, at best, plain and boring. We were given a kaiser roll, literally the same as the oven ones from Albert Heijn. The plates were very small for the prices charged, and there was really nothing special about the dishes. The fried items were super oily, and the hake we got was raw. We sent it back to the kitchen and got exactly the same piece back, now completely dry. Needless to say, we still had to pay the full price. The dessert we got (chocolate mousse) was just heavy, and the cream on top tasted like it came from a package.

Well, another concept. Shared dining and you have to order your drinks at the bar. You also order your food using a form, just like at a sushi place. Oh well, maybe other people like that, but I'm not interested. The prices are quite high. 2 small shrimp croquettes for €9.75, a small bowl of Salade Niçoise for €13.50, for example. I think the prices are too high for what is offered.

Sgroppino is very delicious, but be aware that it contains alcohol.

The food is outstanding! Fresh, beautifully presented en full of flavor. Every dish feels carefully composed, balancing simplicity and creativity. Combined with a great wine selection in a lively, yet intimate setting, Baracuda is the kind of place you'll return to again and again. The service was nice, but leaves some room for improvement though.

Some people have a regular pub, but I call Barracuda my regular restaurant. What a great atmosphere, good wine, good food, and truly excellent service. And the icing on the cake: it's really affordable! A lot of Amsterdam's hospitality industry could learn from this.

A wonderful spot for a lazy Sunday lunch, free from politics, the Olympics, and daily worries. A friendly buzz, attentive, friendly, and helpful service, and varied, flavorful, and well-prepared dishes with fantastic olive oil. Oh yes, when the paella was outdone by the other options on the menu, I couldn't resist taking the magnificent, well-filled, sweet black paella home with me. They gave me a good warming tip, and it worked like a charm. So, happy to be back home. Still highly recommended, Barracuda. ​​PS: You do need to be able to tolerate the acoustics (hence a 9, not a 10).

One of my favorite places in Amsterdam!! The price-quality ratio is so good. Truly delicious food for far less than the exorbitant prices we see in Amsterdam. Simply good, fresh food at a fair price. It's a very cozy restaurant, with so much warmth and hospitality. I love the open kitchen and the large paella pan (on Sundays)! My father turned 65 and very kindly received a cake on the house with a fire fountain. Super sweet people, a true family business. We'll be back very soon, either just the two of us or with the whole family! 🫶🏼 Be surprised, because absolutely everything is delicious!!

Such a fun place to eat. A cool and relaxed atmosphere that turns into a dinner-disco. The food is simple but excellent and the cocktail are great too. On top of that the price is good, We were a group 10 who didn’t hold back on food or drink and it came to less that €70 per person.

Delicious food, fish, shellfish, and crustaceans. Everything equally delicious. The service, well, that's a bit different; you have to go to a counter to order and get your own drinks. I'm not a fan of that.

But everything else is perfect too: the generous glasses of good wine, the seafood with the cups of tea, the oyster lamps in the bathroom… it's all thoughtful and personal. Highly recommended! Fun place, resembling the vibe of The Life Aquatic by Wes Anderson

The food was delicious. It was a bit of a challenge to walk there in the dark, but it was worth it. The enormous Christmas tree made it even more charming. The atmosphere was fantastic. While our table companions were initially skeptical about ordering as often as you like at the bar, the food, which arrived in portions and is meant for sharing, was delicious! The fritto misto, for example, wasn't greasy, which is often the case, and the squid was wonderfully tender. You can help yourself to bread and water for free. The staff was relaxed and friendly (by Amsterdam standards). We'll definitely be back.

We had to order our own food and drinks at the bar. It's very unsociable when you're with other people, and You have to wait at least 5 minutes at the bar. Your food is brought to you, and you have to pick up your own drinks at the bar. It was a tapas menu. I don't really like that either. Too bad.

What a great place, great people, and good food! We've heard of quite a few seafood restaurants, and now we know Barracuda. Accessible, delicious, and staff who are incredibly enthusiastic about their food. Don't like seafood? Think again and go to Barracuda.

This remains a top-notch concept, with truly delicious food. "Order yourself" is the perfect solution to a significant hospitality problem, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it (in this setting). One small point: conversation was nearly impossible due to the noise (for us boomers), so arrive early if you want to discuss something. The bottle of cleaning fluid used for the table could also use a less pungent smell. I prefer the smell of fried fish ;)
