Super friendly staff and very fast service. We sat upstairs, it was really nice there. I had fried fish, which tasted very good with the fresh fries. We also had mussels with truffle sauce, which was super tasty, and a cole slaw that also tasted very good.

We were about to pay our bill in cash and the employee refused to accept cash as business decision. This is illegal, they don't have a valid reason to justify it. We really had a hard time to solve it. We made the reservation online and we did not get any warning, nor they do on their website. We had to return the mussels we ordered because the veggies were raw, they said they would have to overcook the mussels to get the veggies cooked so we could not get our order served. They did not offer solution, we had to eat from our friends plates. Really inflexible...

Delicious mussels in several variations, with truffle, roquefort, Thalys and more. All equally delicious. We were a group of 9 people. For those who don't like eating mussels, there are alternatives such as crab burger or sea bass. Nice and smooth service. The interior could be a bit more attractive, and plastic tables and chairs should be replaced by wood and natural materials. Had a great evening, highly recommended.

Small cozy restaurant where the service is really fantastic. They think along and advise when ordering. In the end something went wrong, but they solved it really well. Our compliments!! We had a delicious meal. This restaurant is definitely recommended.

Great service, fast, friendly and the food was just perfect. The mussels we delicious, the oysters fresh and even the fries were great. Definitely recommend! Ah, btw the gin tonic with basil oil is suuuper.

What a fantastic discovery! Before our visit to the Fabrique des Lumières, we enjoyed a perfect lunch at Mossel & Gin in Westergas Park. A real insider tip for everyone who loves fresh seafood and good drinks! The three of us started straight away with 18 fresh oysters – at a super fair price. The oysters were deliciously fresh, just the right size and served with a classic mignonette which complemented the flavor beautifully. Then we continued with two large portions of mussels, which we shared. The Thai version was an absolute blast - the mussels were cooked in an aromatic sauce with curry, coriander, lime leaves and ginger. The flavors were intense without overpowering the mussels, and every bite was an exotic delight. The truffle version, on the other hand, was wonderfully creamy and refined - the mussels were tossed in a creamy truffle sauce with mushrooms and chervil. The sauce was perfectly balanced without being too heavy and had just the right hint of truffle without being overpowering. We treated ourselves to various side dishes: warm rolls with samphire butter - ideal for dipping into the mussel sauces - and crispy fries with the homemade gin mayo, which is addictive. The coleslaw with crunchy red cabbage and a light mayo was a great complement to the hearty mussel dishes. For lunch we treated ourselves to gin cocktails with passion fruit. It was pleasantly refreshing and not too sweet – a perfect complement to the strong flavors of the mussels. The service was extremely friendly and attentive - we felt completely at home. Although it wasn't particularly crowded on Sunday lunchtime, we'd recommend booking in advance to be on the safe side. The restaurant attaches great importance to sustainability, the mussels come from Yerseke in Zeeland, where they are farmed under the best conditions - you can simply taste the quality! Parking wasn't a problem either thanks to the nearby Q-Park Westergasfabriek. We'll definitely be back as this place is a real highlight for fresh seafood and gin lovers. Great food and kind staff! You can find real shrimp in shrimp croquettes! The lobster in lobster roll also tasted juicy and bouncy! I also liked the interior, fits with the sea theme!

Sorry, but this is not going to be a good review. I had high expectations and saved Mossel & Gin as my last meal before going home. I had seen over the top reviews on their cuisine. So I went with models and gin: both were bland except for the Thai mussel dish I tried which was messy and overpowering. The gin & ginger was unremarkable. While I was greeted with smiles the attention at my table was not up to standard.

Nice, cozy location. The staff is pleasant and comes to check whether everything is as desired. The bartender made a special coffee especially for me that was not actually on the menu. Delicious! The mussels were tasty and well priced, but the monkfish was a bit disappointing (dry and boring). All in all, a nice place where I would like to come back - and certainly visit the terrace in the summer.

Food was delicious and great selection of gin. Service was fairly ordinary, we waited almost an hour for our food due to a ticket not going through. I run restaurants and understand these things happen, but the lack of service didn't help. Our waiter was very helpful and got us a round of drinks which was very kind.

Perfection! We had burgers with a side of fries and everything was so fresh and delicious. The fries were light and crispy, not your average frozen oily ones. The service was very attentive without being too much. 10/10 place both with regards to food and atmosphere.

The food was great, the service was great. I'm not so sure about the drinks, none of the gin drinks felt like they had any gin in it. We ordered both the half and the full drinks and they all felt like they barely had any alcohol in it

Everything seemed a bit half-hearted. The site said there were only two spots left, so we booked quickly. When we arrived, it turned out that only three tables were occupied. Even then it took way too long before we were served. Ordered the classic mussels, but they were tastelessly prepared and served with only two tiny bowls of sauce from the supermarket and some greasy fries. The mussels varied from very small to large and oversized and therefore the degree of doneness also fluctuated between pleasant and severely overcooked. + excellent flat white + nice location in the park - quite expensive (25 mussels pp, 14 for a glass of gin) - terrace on gravel and therefore unsuitable for high heels - toilet upstairs and therefore inconvenient for people with disabilities (unless there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor, I'm not sure) -- gave up a gluten-free diet, but was still served gluten without warning

What a nice, special place on the grounds of the Westergasfabriek. The ambiance is reminiscent of Italy with simple, inviting chairs and tables where the focus is mainly on good food and drinks. Only high-quality products are used and you can taste that in everything on the menu. Not only in the main courses, but also side dishes, drinks and… well, just everything! The service is also more than top! In addition to the wonderfully relaxed attitude, nothing is too much for them to make you feel at home. People think along with the guest. In terms of comfort, but also outside the menu. An absolute rarity!

Nice experience and food except for the bee issue we faced

Il locale è al centro di un parco per cui lo suggerisco per mangiare all’aperto in estate. La formula e’ particolare perché propongono ostriche che vi suggerisco per aprire il pasto, e poi cozze preparate in vari modi in quantità notevole, nel senso che una casseruola basta per due. Ottime quelle alla birra. Quindi se non mangiate mitili e molluschi non e’ il vostro posto, mentre se vi fanno impazzire, sarete assolutamente appagati. Il plus sul cibo e’, come dice il nome del locale, il gin. Ottimo quello con frutto della passione e quello rabarbaro e rosa. Ma anche il ‘classico’ ovviamente merita. Potete bervi una birra beninteso, ma come detto rinunciate al plus che a mio avviso da’ valore particolare alla formula proposta dal locale. Ambiente giovane molto piacevole e personale attento e gentile. Bella l’accoglienza di Oliver al nostro arrivo, amichevole e spiritoso ma non invadente. Lo ritengo un posto dove tornare.

This is one of that restaurants I visit regularly and I actually would not like to write a review for and keep for myself... The selection of mussel dishes is good and all super delicious. But what this restaurant makes outstanding is that the side dishes like fries, salad and others are also top notch. The ambience in their garden is great and the service continuously efficient, friendly and helpfull. My favourite Gin here is the spicy mango. Thank you for the wonderful summerevening again!

Response: I visited restaurant at around 8:40 yesterday. So many mouse 🐭 in the garten running around while we are eating…when we arrive, it took 25 minutes for the staff to take dishes and trash from table away, nobody came to take the order so we ordered on the table, finally when they take the trash away, there was a used bandage on the table the staff did not see and it just stayed on the table. Also did not wipe the table. Hygiene is a real issue there.

It is definitely a wonderful experience to drink the perfect Gin cocktail here while enjoying a delicious freshly prepared oyster with lemon. If the weather and temperature are good, it will be a fantastic balmy evening here. The location in the Westerpark is great. People are always pleasant and the service is as nice, smooth and honest as this city is. The service is very nice and polite, they enjoy a nice chat. That's the way it should be!

I went to Mossel & Gin on a super warm day. We ordered oysters and mussels, which they said were from the Netherland sea. The mussels tasted incredibly strong, juicy, and salty, quite different from what you get in Bangkok. We tried the beer and classic mussels, both of which were really good and fresh despite the heat. The overall vibes were great, with beautiful people and super refreshing gin. The waitstaff were very nice and super helpful.

Die Ginauswahl ist schon schön, auch wenn nicht 100 Sorten angeboten werden. Gin mit Pasdionsfrucht... lecker. Wir hatten eine gute Vorspeise und dann das Steak und die Muscheln mit Trüffel. Wir waren beide sehr zufrieden! Der Service ist auch mega nett und freundlich!

Mussels and Gin. The concept looks simple however they failed in delivering on expectations : 1 - Gin : thye don;t know how to make it. Despite we all took the "double shot" for 12-13€, it had no taste, way too much ice melted. I guess they put a third of a Fever Tree mixer and a tiny Gin dose. Useless. Go for white wine, straight. 2 - Mussels : I took the Thai mussels and I liked them, however I tasted the classics from my wife and they were taste less... 3 - Overpriced, big time! 25€ mussels and fries => it's twice the price it should be. Mussels are and will always be a popular meal. Overpricing it doesn;t not make them better or fancier...

Such a top tent!! We come here every month every summer with our group of friends 'De pearls'. The food is unusually tasty and the service is very nice! ❤️ mussels (the ones with Rocquefort!), fresh oysters or shrimp croquettes with the tastiest gin mayo. Highly recommended. To go!!

In the city and yet surrounded by greenery, a great place to eat mussels. The oysters were excellent. The mussels are small but tasty. Thai variant was great! Sweet and attentive host and ladies. If we can give the owner a tip; do something more about the ambiance outside. We will definitely come back.

Located in a nice park, Mossel & Gin's signature dishes are mussels in a variety of styles. We had the Thai mussels, which is basically a large pot of mussels with a Thai curry sauce. It was very tasty and the sea food was fresh. The fish and chips was also very good, as were some appetizers we had. The staff was friendly although a bit slow and we weren't offered an English menu (I'm not even sure if they have one, we just google translated the menu on their website and everything was fine). You could tell this isn't some tourist trap but a popular restaurant favored by locals.

Had dinner here tonight with a good friend. The Gin cocktails were tasty, as were the side dishes, but the Mussels were very mediocre. They are very small, quite a lot of empty shells or quite a lot of completely broken/tough-cooked tiny mussels. I had cooked the classic in wine, but the cooking liquid had no taste and many of the vegetables were still half raw. The service is friendly, but for our 'dessert' (our 'after the meal cocktail') we had to switch tables to a cramped corner with a screaming child to make room for a larger table, without any attention being paid. offered (cup of coffee from the company or something?!?). And when you pay, you don't even get to see the bill or be offered a PIN receipt. It is a nice place and many of the dishes that came along looked delicious. Maybe I'll try it again - at least when the mussels are better - but today wasn't really great.

This place is the best in Amsterdam, we ordered the mussels dish with a barely spicy sauce and the taste was really incredible. The dishes are very abundant and delicious. I recommend it 10 points. The place is beautiful, attention is paid to all the details, there is a coat rack and blankets if you sit at the outside tables. The garden and the music are very pleasant.

Mussel and Gin is simply amazing! The mussels are to die for, and the fries with gin mayo are a real treat. What really makes this place special is the extensive selection of delicious G&Ts. On a sunny day, sitting outside on the terrace is a real treat. An absolute must for anyone who likes good food and drinks in Amsterdam!

It was my first time eating at Mossel & Gin. I had the classic mussels which were only okay. I definitely had better mussels before. The wine sauce was very underwhelming and was lacking salt. The fries were really good though. Prices are above average and service was a bit slow but that’s what you’re used to in Amsterdam. Atmosphere is 10/10

Served gin and tonic with chipped glass, a hair in the other glass, the mussels were over steamed, and their was no white win in the dish as advertised. The gin and tonic were very weak, almost zero very little gin.

It’s a cute place in a cute location. The food is good, I loved their Thai curry mussels. My partner ordered the truffle one and that was a less good but still tasty. The drinks were also pretty solid and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. The only unpleasant thing was that, sitting downstairs by the bar, it was getting quite cold in the evening because the place has open doors all the time.

We came on Sunday, right at the opening time, got a nice spot on the terrace, got lucky with the weather. Very friendly staff, great food, tried a couple of mussels mains and oysters as a starter. Great G&Ts and fairly good service (considering the place got packed in no time). Will definitely come back!
