(2) Went to Fred's again after a long time. His sister now works at the fish stall. They still treat me like a stranger. The sister took the order and immediately started frying it while I still wanted a herring. It didn't arrive until 5 minutes later when she finally asked if I wanted something else. The kibbeling was good as usual. I have to be strict here too: 2 stars off for the customer service. ==================== (1) I've been coming here for almost 5 years, I think (or a little longer/shorter). I don't eat all the fish they have, but there's still plenty of choice for me. What makes them special is that they fry everything fresh for you. If you're in a hurry, you have to tell them you just want fish from the display case. You don't see this service at many other fishmongers in Amsterdam. The quality of the fish is good, especially the kibbeling. I've never experienced herring here that was so clean, fresh, and flavorful anywhere else. For me, this is all worth 5 stars. July 24, 2024: An update. Still just as pricey, but delicious. It's a shame Fred doesn't recognize me as a regular and is treated like a number. The fish is good quality. But that's a repetition of what was said above. Keep up the good food service and maintain the high quality!

We were served by a very polite, courteous Dutchman who also spoke German. You can try the fish, there is a good selection and everything is freshly prepared. Great as a small snack, it fills you up and doesn't feel heavy on your stomach.

The kibbeling was very tasty but it took over 20 minutes and there were only 2 people in front of me.

Ansterdam Noord is known as the seafood capital of the Benelux, with fish stall De Zeemeeuw as the absolute highlight. The kibbeling is always deliciously seasoned and the shrimp croquette was stable again. Of course you can also get your herring here with the famous pickles and other fish... but the kibbeling is the absolute highlight of this stall. 👍🐟🦐🦗🦈

Kom hier nu twee jaar zowat elke week. De haring is super lekker en de kibbeling net zo. Andere snacks, salades, soms een broodje makreel, allemaal heerlijk. Met mooi weer altijd een gezellige boel en als het wat rustiger is ff tijd voor een praatje. Niet de goedkoopste, maar daar krijg je echt kwaliteit voor.

Truly the best kibbelingen in Amsterdam. Bite-sized, cooked to order, perfectly seasoned. Don't really need dipping sauce to enjoy it. Prices are a bit high but you'll get premium quality.

Prima lekkerbekje, maar 5,20 euro voor eentje vind ik wel erg prijzig..

Vooral bekend om zijn heerlijke kibbeling; gewoon zonde om daar een saus bij te nemen want dan gaat die subtiele smaak van het krokante jasje verloren! Top dus!
