The Seafood Bar in Burgwallen-Nieuwe Zijde

During the random trip in Amsterdam, I made a flash booking today (a much larger one than the other with always available seat plan). And found this restaurant is amazing, the seafood is fresh and finely cooked within a fair price, we ordered the combination. The most amazing part is the service from Agustina, she is so kind and friendly while taking care of all the tables in this area.

An excellent seafood restaurant. It's beautiful inside. We had the grilled combo for two for 68 euros (see photo). It was incredibly delicious and more than enough to fill you up. If you like fish, this is definitely the place for you. The waitress, Ella, spoke Russian. She was very sweet, polite, and explained everything. Well done! We really enjoyed it.

As a solo traveler touring Amsterdam...this place was amazing. The mussels were exceptional and their bartender Emma was super cool and added to a great experience.

Everything was perfect Nikola was very friendly and helpful. Might be pricey but worth it.

The staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered a single portion of mixed seafood platter, it was delicious. I didn't like the sauce on the mussels. They took me to the bar immediately at 5:30 PM without making me wait.

We were stuck at this restaurant, six of us, and they welcomed us without a reservation even though we arrived at the last minute before closing. Their attitude and service were excellent. They took our orders and brought them to us quickly. The food was superb, and the seafood was among the best in Amsterdam. The fish was delicious in every form, as were the shrimp and lobster. The prawn pasta was also excellent. Honestly, all the dishes were outstanding. I highly recommend it to seafood lovers.

We had such a wonderful evening at The Seafood Bar Spui! We were a group of seven and the food was absolutely amazing — every bit as good as I remembered it. The service was excellent, and a special mention has to go to Diana, our waitress, who was exceptional. She looked after us brilliantly and helped make the evening even more enjoyable. Everyone in our group had a fantastic time. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that one of my friends went back again the very next day! I think that says it all. 😊 Great food, exceptional service and a fantastic central location. I would happily return again — highly recommended!

We sat at the bar and our servers Leonardo and Emma were so knowledgeable and helpful in selecting wines and our entree. The were fun and engaging to talk to. The food was the best I’ve had in Amsterdam. We shared the assorted seafood platter. The calamari was perfectly grilled. So many other fish on that platter that it was a feast- and a value as well. Don’t skip this place. Sit at the bar with Emma and Leonardo for a memorable meal.

TURIST TRAP We visited this restaurant in Amsterdam because we had seen so many great reviews. We made a reservation for 4:00 p.m. When we arrived, there were two or three small groups ahead of us waiting to be seated, so we waited at the entrance for about 10 minutes. By then it was already 4:10 p.m., so I can understand why there may have been some confusion about our reservation, even though we had mentioned it. At first, we were seated at one of the high tables with high chairs right at the entrance. We found those seats quite uncomfortable, especially since there were many empty regular tables further inside the restaurant. I asked the waitress if we could move, and she told us those tables were for reservation only. I explained that we also had a reservation, and she said she would check. A couple of minutes later, she came back and told us we could move, which we appreciated and the staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant was very busy, but overall it felt more like a fast-food chain than a seafood restaurant, despite the rather high prices. What disappointed us most was the food. The lobster was overcooked, very chewy, and had very little meat. Coming from a Southern European background, we’re used to high-quality seafood, so this was especially disappointing. The next day, we ate at a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the total bill was surprisingly similar to what we had paid here. Considering the quality of the food, we expected much better value for the price. Overall, the experience did not live up to the excellent reviews we had read.

Delicious!!!! We only had some very simple appetizers, but they were delicious!!! The dishes on the other tables, also simple, looked spectacular: shrimp, oysters, clams, crab legs. Don't hesitate to eat here!
