Perfect place to taste some oysters

After a horrible, long day of travel we happened upon The Seafood Bar. Daniel greeted us with a smile & seated us immediately. The menu is lovely with many choices of seafood, wine, & cocktails. The servers were attentive, the food arrived quickly & was amazing! The oysters rivaled any that I’ve eaten on the Gulf Coast. We will be returning before our travels are complete. Thanks to Daniel, one other waiter, & Augustina for making a hard day lovely!

The vibe and ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. Out of 6 people in our group everyone loved their food. My mussels French style were amazing. What made our experience even more memorable was our waiter Mathias. Very friendly, provided awesome service, and took the time to make some great recommendation’s of things to do and see in Amsterdam. Thank you Mathias.

Agustina served us super and often asked if everything was to our liking. Super!

Food was above average quality. Their service from beginning to the end was excellent. Host made seat arrangement even though we did not have a reservation. Hostess, Augustin, was very friendly and attentive to our needs and comforts during our meal. Her efforts made our visit to The Seafood Bar an enjoyable experience.

The food was amazing, and decently well priced. Agustina was my server and she was very fast, attentive and charismatic.

First time at The Seafood Bar. Extra points for our server Agustina, she was amazing! Received lovely service from her and had amazing food. Perfect place for a cute date, it’s fancy but not stuck up and casual enough with a really nice trendy interior! We sat near the entrance but didn’t notice any disturbance from outside or people walking by/ coming in. We had the combination grill/cold plate for 2 people. Very fresh, super delicious !! The lemon crème brulee was perfect! Definitely recommend this location :) Totally swept away and very happy!

I had an amazing time at this restaurant—the seafood was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. Every dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. A must-visit spot for seafood lovers!

The grill mixed seafood is the best value of all. The fish fillets were fried at the right degree which is rare with most restaurants overcooking them. The mussels however is a hit and miss, some are not all that fresh which shouldn't be the case with the volume and turnover. Service by Isa made up the otherwise average experience. Keep up the beautiful smile Isa.

Of course, we went to the Seafood Bar in Amsterdam – and it was worth it! Delicious oysters to start with, followed by the grilled seafood platter. Allergies were very well catered for and handled impeccably. The prices aren't cheap, but compared to Amsterdam, they're absolutely reasonable! The staff was extremely friendly!

Food was delicious as usual but the service leaves much to be desired. Asked for bread 3 times, didn't get any bread but it was on the bill twice. Luckily it was seen and taken off the bill.

This place is my favorite when it comes to seafood. I'm crazy about the mixed grill, which I think is one of the most famous dishes in all of Amsterdam. I also love the atmosphere, which is perfect for a date.

We had a wonderful experience! Sofia, our waitress, was incredibly attentive and provided excellent service throughout. The food was absolutely delicious — we shared the seafood platter for two, which was a highlight. Highly recommend and would happily return!

Food was great but I think it’s over rated. The restaurant intentionally asked for good reviews and the waiter strongly hinted for tips which make us feel uncomfortable.

Had another delicious meal at Seafood Bar, this time at the Spui. The service (Mirre) and all the other staff were very nice and helpful. The food was fantastic again. I had the lobster soup and the Plate (salad with smoked mackerel, shrimp, lobster salad and 2 types of smoked salmon). Everything was super tasty again. Too bad that the plate no longer comes with toast. And had to order bread separately. Despite that, we had a delicious meal. And Mirre, thank you very much for your good, nice and fast service!

Mirre was our waiter for today, she has been super helpful, amiable, and made us feel at home and very comfortable since the beginning, she was also very useful for the suggestions of our foods and very very sweet during the whole lunch !!! I’m glad she served us today !!!!!

The servers alone merit a visit. The food was okay. I tried going back to try it again since I was feeling well the first time, and we were not received the same way. The young lady hosting wasn't as friendly or welcoming as the one the day before. What a pity, too, because we had no plans on eating anywhere else but here. Our waitress was Portuguese and delightful. She made sure I was okay when she noticed I wasn't feeling well. Maybe on my next trip to Amsterdam.

I've done a reservation via internet, then the day before the restaurant sent me a letter/remembering of the visit. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly.

If you are an Asian, Do NOT come here!!😞Seafood is not fresh at all and extremely overpriced.💰💰💰 Waiters & Waitresses treat you differently depends on your skin color.🥲 Like other comments mentioned, they only check on certain customers and asked them if everything’s okay but let you wait for 20 minutes to order and an hour to get your meal. No one likes being treated differently and you can see Dutch people’s ignorance towards the world here. I had a conversation to an another customer and we have the same feeling that the waiter’s English is not good enough for handling international customers even had a hard time to understand English native speakers from the US/Canada and you had to walk into them to get any basic service at all. This experience is completely horrific so I decided to write this review to remind everyone and hope it could be helpful. 18 June 2025

We've stopped by the Seafood bar for some delicious Seafood while we stayed in Amsterdam. The Seared Salmon was perfect, the Oysters fresh! Definitely a great seafood restaurant to stop by - they have another location at the De Pjip area as well!

Honestly the quality of the food is really bad…it’s not fresh, feels like defrosted and not tasty… but same time not cheap at all! Atmosphere is not good as well,,more like coffee shops at the railway station… don’t want to come back here

Very slow service . We ordered oysters and fruit de mer. Waited very long time. Servers are all busy being busy. Even after complaining little response. I realize that it is hard to get staff. Dusappointing

Daniel was very attentive and had a very good attitude. Excellent choice for seafood dinner. The food was good and the drinks were also good.

There are many seats and many foreign customers, but most of them are commercial marketing. The original seafood dishes are delicious (all frozen dishes), the sauce is not appetizing, fresh ingredients can be enhanced with salt, which is far inferior to the freshly caught seafood in Taiwan. Tourists can try it, but if they stay in Taiwan, they will eat until they vomit, and then eat again.

We ordered pasta with seafood. The plate was ready but waiters didnt notice for 5mins, we had to remind the plate is ready and the plate get cooled.

The restaurant is situation in a square with great views if you sit outside. The inside is modern and really nice. The Vongole with white wine sauce was the best thing we ordered, super creamy with garlic and herbs. We ordered extra bread to dip into it👌🏽 the grilled octopus was a bit chewy. the oysters were were fresh and on the larger side, came with a vinegar. The crab cakes were good but nothing amazing. For entrees we got salmon & the fish and chips. The salmon was well cooked and moist with crispy skin. The fish and chips were very well fried. It came with a tartar dipping sauce. Would recommend either. The service was pretty slow and confused at some points. We got our appetizers the first half hour, another hour went by and the entrees still hadn’t come. They most likely forgot and 10 minutes after asking it came out. Don’t expect the quickest service. Overall nice restaurant though.

Excellent meal. We had the seafood platter to share between two, a pure delight. The cocktails are very good. Be sure to book before you go, otherwise you'll easily wait in line outside for 30 minutes before you can be seated.

For our anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to a dinner at this renowned seafood restaurant. The restaurant has a perfect layout of the interior spaces, the furniture and the lights work together to create a perfect experience. We ordered a traditional appetizer and a mixed grill of fish for two. They were both exceptional dishes and what struck me the most was the mussel sauce, delicious! Recommended!

We had a delicious dinner at the Seafood Bar in Amsterdam. Our server went over and above to take off the heads and tails from my prawns. They were outstanding. They had a good wine selection which we enjoyed. Just a little noisy for us.
