Beautiful location for a party night

Unfortunately, I cannot say that I enjoyed the High Tea. There was plenty of choice in different teas, but none of them were very flavorful. In terms of food, it was heavily focused on the sweet and not enough on the savory. There is no balance. The quality wasn't okay either. It was my first time here and not a place I would return to.

What an amazing location, amazing staff, and above all, amazing service. Thanks in part to them, we got an unforgettable day in return. We are incredibly happy with the choice to hold our wedding here, from the ceremony to the amazing party. We can give nothing but 5 stars!!

Nice quiet restaurant situated out of busy centre, on edge of water. Food was pretty good, high price though, 18 Euro's for steak sandwich, wich was really to small for this price. The shared dishes are ok. Great service from waitress though.

The food itself is OK, but not very special. The same goes for the service: okay, but not great. The location is beautiful, though. The music on the terrace is a bit too loud, right above your head. The bread with spreads for 4 people as a starter is a tiny brown roll, a real joke; serving the main course without any cutlery. Many small things that cost you stars. Unfortunately.

We rented a hall here for my mother's retirement party. First of all, the hall was beautiful. The service was amazing, the staff were incredibly dedicated, and the communication beforehand was clear. There was plenty of room for adjustments during the planning, the quote was fair, and the staff were truly excellent during the party itself. Afterwards, we also stayed for dinner with a smaller group. The food was delicious, and here too, the service was outstanding. I can recommend everyone to rent a hall here for a party and/or to enjoy a delicious meal.

We have been coming here for many years. However, the quality has declined significantly lately. The high tea is very meager (even for elderly people who are not big eaters, it was too little). The tea was only refilled once. When making the reservation, it was indicated that the food would be served at 1:00 PM because two people had to leave early. In the end, the food didn't arrive until a quarter to 2. In short, for these prices, there are definitely better options to be found in the area. Not recommended!

Very disappointing experience. We came in hoping to have a drink, but we were refused service without any clear explanation, while other customers were being served. We felt unwelcome and disrespected. The way we were treated made us question whether we were treated differently because of who we are. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, and I cannot recommend this place.

1st time I was there, enjoyed the lovely hot water, and had a delicious meal. Friendly and funny staff.

Where do I begin? You order a main course—in our case, the satay menu. Imagine our surprise: that’s just 3 skewers of satay. Okay, and what else, you wonder... well, a big dollop of atjar... and a portion of prawn crackers. But... then we found out that nothing else was included. That means we had to order fries on the side for 4.50 euros. Oh right, the mayonnaise was also 1.00 euro, and that was a tiny little container... so much for ordering a main course and fries separately. Seriously, if you run a restaurant this way, I wonder if you've got it all together. They won't be seeing me here again.

Dinner for a birthday. Beautiful location and interior, parking is great. The main course was good but took a very long time. There were also 2 parties elsewhere in the building, so that probably affected the flow. Dessert was not good. The chef's specialty is for 2 people and was literally 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and 2 small pieces of store-bought apple pie on a veeeery large plate. If the chef's specialty is thawing factory-made apple pie for over 11 euros pp, you should look for another chef. Tiramisu was bavarois with strawberries... and cocoa on top???? Nicely conceived, but it had nothing to do with Tiramisu. Dame blanche was ice cream and sauce carelessly thrown into a bowl. Very disappointing.

Had a baby shower here. Super bright, especially in nice weather. By the water and super friendly staff.

Nice location. Food reasonable. It was a buffet, and after the plates and cutlery had been cleared, the containers were filled with food. Peculiar. The staff did their best, but there weren't enough for the number of guests. The toilet was dirty.

Share dining offers very good value for money.

Very disappointing experience. For nearly €60, we received dry, burnt bread with a minimal amount of meat and almost no flavor. The soup was supposed to contain mascarpone, but there was absolutely no trace of it. I mentioned this when paying, but nothing was done about it. The waitress even said that the food is better on weekdays — a strange reaction. For this price, the quality is truly unacceptable. Definitely not recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Easter brunch, it was fantastic 👍👍. The service was attentive and friendly, and the buffet was amazing. This is definitely worth repeating, a huge compliment 👏👏

The food was delicious and of good quality. The service was friendly but slow. The food took a long time to arrive; half of our party had food in front of them for 10 minutes already, while the others had to ask when the food was coming. Menus were not provided. They did not bring a spoon with the soup. They try to make you feel comfortable, but the service is not very accurate. There was no hand soap in the ladies' restroom.

Great quality food, really like the chef's style, a bit of Asian fusion on some well known dishes. We enjoyed the great friendly service, and the conversation with the waiter. This place is also dog friendly as we were allowed to dine inside with our small dog we were traveling with (he stays in a small backpack carrier). The vibe of this place was also very positive and fun, all the customers and the servers appeared to be having a good lightheaded time together. The music playing in the background was also very agreeable to us, we enjoyed the familiar songs that were playing. If we are ever in the area again we will certainly return here!

Great location and friendly staff! The only downside is that they always ask pretty quickly if you'd like another drink, even though your glass is still fairly full! Otherwise, it's great!

Christmas Eve, the menu consisted of tapas. The cold dishes were too cold. The hot dishes were reasonable, but definitely not what we're used to here. Because we were so satisfied, we returned. Unfortunately, we don't anymore. Tapas, or a sharing dinner, isn't Christmassy either. It's rather chaotic. You don't eat all at once. It's a shame, this concept doesn't fit with Christmas.

Turning 40 is a milestone. That's why we celebrated my 40th birthday at the Develpaviljoen in Zwijndrecht. We had a great conversation about the party preparations and what we envisioned. We also had excellent communication throughout the preparations, both by email and phone. Fantastic! Thanks to everyone, we had a fantastic evening! Everything was perfectly organized! See you soon!

Absolutely nothing to complain about! We've been there many times and it's always fantastic!! And cozy! High tea/wine/beer, Easter brunch, Mother's Day brunch, 80s/90s party, and a 12.5-year wedding anniversary celebration with 21 people. Everything is delicious and perfectly organized, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming!

Nice restaurant on a small waterway. The price-quality ratio is excellent. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Easily accessible by car and there's ample parking.

We went here for a birthday. I didn't expect it to be such a cozy place. We had to choose from a package, but the first woman who helped us seemed quite stressed. The man who then came over and took over was really super friendly and helpful! The food was delicious and the drinks were great. The restrooms were clean despite the crowd. Just fine.

Very nice restaurant where you can also eat delicious food

The "Boathouse" is downstairs and on the water. It's a lovely location, especially on a beautiful summer day. Furthermore: excellent food at a reasonable price. Highly recommended! Update 2025: unfortunately, a star has been dropped because the sweet potato fries have disappeared from the menu 😐

A beautiful waterfront location. Well-maintained, professional, and with a peaceful atmosphere (we sat on the terrace).

Last night we had dinner at Boathouse, a place we regularly and enjoy eating out. Last night, the atmosphere and experience were lacking, which turned into irritation. We reserved a table outside on the terrace two days before. The table was taken because two people had walked past despite the sign saying you'll be shown to your table. The Boathouse management didn't consider it necessary to put a "reserved" sign on it. Eventually, the terrace was extended so we could sit on a round bench by the water. It was fantastic, and the young man who was new was incredibly friendly and attentive. We had rosé and made our choice and shared it with them. We arrived at our table at 6:00 PM, the starter at 6:45 PM, and the main course at 7:45 PM. Something had gone wrong with the tables. Dessert was a brownie, which was beautifully presented, but so hard you couldn't pierce it with a fork. We had a €49 menu, which also included fries. It wasn't worth it. I went home with a bad feeling; that's not how we know Boathouse. There were a lot of new young people working the tables, who really didn't see beyond their own tables. Sadly, Boathouse is no longer around for a while.

We thoroughly enjoyed the three-course meal tonight. The friendly and helpful staff/owners do everything they can to create a safe, pleasant atmosphere, which is especially helpful with our son who has CF. The portions are generous and delicious, and the location looks beautiful. Thank you so much for this carefree evening; we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

Last weekend we had a barbecue, and the food (except for the nachos) was mediocre. They served small pieces of steak, pre-cooked chicken satay, a burger, and a small sandwich to share among four people (each person only got one small piece!). The upside is that they have a beautiful location, but I don't think we'll want another barbecue; maybe just lunch.

We had a lovely lunch with a birthday girl, an elderly aunt. The young man who was in charge of our tables was friendly and jovial, but also had a good sense of providing pleasant service to the predominantly elderly guests. 👍👍

Now eaten there 3 times, lunched 2 times and had dinner once. Unfortunately, it has always been just not good all those times. Very tasteless and very little choice for lunch. The foccacia chicken was very poorly topped and more dry bread than taste. The dessert, the blondie, also seemed very tasty to me, but I don't know what it was, but not a blondie and unfortunately tasteless again. The service was very nice but a bit forgetful.

We chose the Develpaviljoen for my 50th birthday party. From the first to the last contact everything went great. On the evening itself everything was well arranged, friendly staff. Plenty of drinks and snacks.

Had a nice Mother's Day brunch. There was a delicious soup that was served beforehand. After this there was a buffet with cold and hot side where there was more than enough choice for everyone. And at the end, a delicious dessert was served.

I thought the food was delicious, but it's a pity that this restaurant doesn't have a cheese board with, for example, port or px

Boathouse is een van onze favoriete plekken in Zwijndrecht om lekker te eten. We komen hier graag en voelen ons altijd welkom. Het eten is keer op keer heerlijk en de sfeer is ontspannen en gastvrij. Wat het extra bijzonder maakt, is dat we vaak aan onze vaste tafel zitten – een klein detail dat het gevoel van thuiskomen versterkt. De service is vriendelijk en attent, en het personeel doet echt moeite om het je naar de zin te maken. Kortom, Boathouse is wat ons betreft een echte aanrader. Of je nu komt voor een diner met z’n tweeën of een gezellige avond met vrienden of familie: je zit hier altijd goed!

We chose The Devel Pavilion for our wedding party and celebrated it in the Vijverzaal. Large enough for a party with buffet dinner for 50-55 people. We went through the planning or distance (we live in Taiwan) and agreed with Saskia and that went very well. Saskia helpful with ideas and flexible. In addition, she had a good sense of what we wanted. The price was reasonable, especially since the food was of good quality. The service and handling were more than adequate and customer-oriented. All very pleasant. We look back on a great party, partly thanks to the good care of the Develpaviljoen team!

Had Sunday brunch here in the boathouse for the first time. The food offered was reasonable to good. Could take what you wanted and as much as you wanted. Unfortunately that was not the case with the delicious dessert. This was neatly brought to the table and stayed at one time. Service was perfect and very polite

Met 2 oud collega’s heerlijk gegeten in Boathouse 078. Mooie gerechten. Ongedwongen sfeer. Vriendelijk personeel. Prima prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Al met al een groot succes. Tot de volgende keer!

Restaurant verzorgde voor ons een uitstekend buffet. Personeel heel gastvrij en gemoedelijk, verder een uitstekende gelegenheid voor een grotere groep (35+) om een feestelijk diner te houden.

It's our favorite restaurant, just plain good

Last week we enjoyed the table BBQ at this restaurant and we can definitely recommend it. The staff were extremely friendly and provided clear explanations of what we could expect from the BBQ experience. There was sufficient variety in the range of meat, bread and salads, which made the meal a nice change. The diamond tenderloin and the burgers in particular were very tasty and well prepared. However, the chicken satay was a bit disappointing; we found it a little less tasty. A nice extra was the large bowl of fries that we received, together with a delicious peanut sauce. This gave the meal an extra dimension. The location is also a big plus: the restaurant is beautifully situated on the water, which creates a relaxing atmosphere while eating. All in all, a successful experience, with good value for money and an atmosphere that invites you to stay longer. Whether you come with friends or family, this is definitely recommended for those who enjoy a pleasant meal in a beautiful setting. We will definitely come back here again!

Nice buffet. Good taste. Seating not great. Sitting on a long couch is difficult when eating from a buffet. Fellow guests must eat at the same pace or interrupt the meal because you have to fill the plate yourself.

Had lunch here this afternoon with my wife and daughter, but unfortunately it was disappointing. There was dust around the board that you could easily wipe away with your finger; even the waitress was silent for a moment when she saw it. The children's menu also included old fruit that I would not eat myself, let alone give to my child. In addition, we paid 8 euros for two fries with mayo and we received a very small portion, certainly not in relation to the price. This was the last time for us.

Went for dinner with 6 people on Thursday, October 10, for my daughter's 21st birthday. What a bad aftertaste we are left with this evening. When we arrived the heater still had to be turned on. It was really cold. We could get a blanket. The BBQ had to be replaced 3 times because it always did not turn on properly. The cobwebs were hanging from the ceiling and bbq But the worst was the meat the steak was on the chicken. The burgers tasted like the sole of a shoe was so disgusting. Two small bowls of fries for 6 people, there was more peanut sauce than fries. No service in sight, we hardly have any meat on it, it's so dirty. I complained to the staff and the response was "sorry to hear". I would say keep it up if you don't want to have any more customers.

Reserved a high tea for four people on Sunday. Things were pretty crazy around us with birthdays and baby showers, so we weren't the only ones with the idea. Hot and cold snacks were served separately. They regularly ask if you want any tea water, and you can even order coffee without paying extra. But: a very large etagère was placed on the table (not convenient in terms of space and not exactly pleasant to talk to your group through a rack). The waitress went through it quickly, because she had no idea what was actually on the table. We soon discovered that one of the tea glasses had broken glass splinters, which was responded to quite light-heartedly without apologies. The chicken sandwich topping covered about 1/5 of the bread. And not all snacks are available in multiples, sometimes there were 3 or 2-for-2 (sausage roll suddenly had curry?). And if you ask for tea water a third time, they will take the jug with them, but not come back with it. After asking several staff members, we finally got the water. Probably a hint that we should leave the table. All in all okay, but not recommended.

Celebrated my 60th birthday with 15 people. Everyone thought it was a nice restaurant and we had a delicious meal. The service was top notch.

The best Dutch food in the Netherlands. And the kids menu items were delicious. Plus, the fountain and park are super tranquil.
