We had opted for the 5-course menu. Beautifully presented dishes. The food was certainly tasty, but it lacked a burst of flavor. The taste was just a little too bland. The bottle of Rioja white wine was nice. With a slightly more stylish decor, the overall experience would have been more right for us.

The service was not what we are used to at such restaurants. It lacked real leadership; two young guys in clothing that was too informal in our opinion for this concept with a multi-course menu. Pouring wine with the bottle resting on the rim of the glass is also simply unacceptable, and on one occasion, the wine from the pairing was only poured after another table pointed out that they did not yet have the matching wine, which was the case for us as well. At the table next to us, they also simply forgot to serve one wine from the pairing with the corresponding course. When girlfriends/colleagues came by at the end of the evening, both gentlemen seemed to think that was more important. A shame. The food, however, was very delicious!

For my partner's birthday, we wanted to go for oysters. Initially, the restaurant turned out to be fully booked. Fortunately, I received a message the next day that we could still come. Given the beautiful weather, we took a seat outside on the terrace, with a nice view of the harbor. The chairs are very low, and due to the paving, everything is a bit wobbly. In hindsight, we would probably have been more comfortable inside. Inside, it looked very atmospheric. We had the 4-course menu and delicious oysters as a starter. The dishes were generally flavorful and beautifully presented. The portion sizes could sometimes have been a bit larger. The hake was a bit on the salty side. I felt the pointed cabbage was more of a side dish than a course. My partner doesn't like pointed cabbage and had the pulled duck. The taste of celeriac was very overpowering in the plaice. You could barely taste the shrimp. The tartlet was divine! In terms of service, things were a bit chaotic this evening. The new colleague clearly needed a few more instructions. He didn't know what a white beer was, how to serve in and out, and that you can't address guests as "guys".

Based on the recommendation in the guidebook and the good reviews, we chose Packhuys for dinner tonight. The menu items were pre-set, and you could choose from four or more dishes. We opted for the five-course option, which ensured we left the restaurant very satisfied. The ambiance by the water is lovely. Between courses, you have the opportunity to watch the sailboats as they pass under the drawbridge. We were simply amazed by the quality of the food. There was absolutely nothing to criticize. My personal highlight was the pointed cabbage. I definitely would have ordered it even from a regular menu. It's astonishing what the chef conjured up. The duck was also a real flavor sensation. Thank you for a truly wonderful evening. P.S. Reservations are highly recommended. For those with electric vehicles, the parking garage by the library is a good option, as it has four charging stations right next to the entrance. Also, allow plenty of time. The five courses kept us busy for over three hours.

Super nice location by the water with a view of the Kampveer Tower. We had a delicious lunch there and the waiters were all super friendly. Highly recommended.

We have been here often and always find the food very tasty and the service good. Unfortunately, things went quite wrong this evening on various levels. This was acknowledged and compensated for; that can happen once in a while. We certainly hope to come back again.

My husband and I ate here last night. We tried their 6-course tasting menu. My favorite is lamb rump. It was tender and perfectly cooked. Every single dish was delicious, and I'd definitely recommend trying this tasting menu if you're in Middelburg.

For us, it was the first time we visited the Packhuys, and now we wonder why only now? The menu is pleasant and clear. You can choose a varying number of courses, from 4 to 7. We opted for 5 courses and some extra oysters as a starter. We found all 5 courses very tasty. In any case, it invited us to definitely go back again to choose the 7-course option. We thought the accompanying wines were well chosen. The service was very pleasant. It was a quiet evening, but it was a Thursday, too. For us, the Packhuys is a new discovery and it is certainly on our list to dine at again soon. We can recommend it wholeheartedly. We have since been there again. Still pleasantly surprised and will be visiting again soon.

The price-quality ratio is also not good. I would expect more for that price. The atmosphere is cozy and the servers are friendly.

After several years, a weekend away in the area again. Het Packhuys did not disappoint. It was once again a culinary delight in a pleasant atmosphere.

What a fun and, above all, delicious experience this was! We had to call twice to let them know that we would arrive later than our reserved time (due to a huge traffic jam)... Nothing was too much trouble for them! Everything was greeted with a smile. The food, the location, and the atmosphere were truly TOP-NOTCH!! We enjoyed it so much! We will DEFINITELY be back here. A very pleasant and cozy restaurant. We were there on Friday evening, and that's when you eat from the set menu. You can choose from several courses, but the meal itself is fixed. We opted for the 6-course menu. My husband is a picky eater, but he found everything fantastic and delicious. Everything was served at a leisurely pace, but without a long wait. We were with company, so it's nice that you don't have to leave quickly. The ladies are fantastic hostesses. Very friendly. My dinner companion couldn't decide between two wines, and she was allowed to taste them at her leisure. In short, you can definitely join us for a pleasant evening.

Located in the picturesque Zeeland capital of Middelburg. Beautiful views of, among other things, the harbor of this historic city. Hospitality and Expertise are the keywords here. Both are capitalized. A terrace is available. Suitable for a maximum of 40 to 50 guests. Reservations are recommended. Be surprised and plan a visit to this acclaimed venue. You certainly won't regret it. A gem of a venue!

We had a wonderful meal here for the second time. The service is friendly and approachable. They clearly explain what they're serving. The dishes are beautiful to look at and offer lovely flavor combinations. The wine list is excellent, and you can order fries separately. We didn't do that this time because all the courses together make a nice portion. The water package is well-organized and reasonably priced. It's also nice that if you opt for a cheese board afterward, you can specify which cheese you'll receive using the cheese menu. So the restaurant doesn't dictate the cheese selection. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel, comfortable beds and bathroom. Well-cleaned and tastefully decorated. I had a room on the second floor. The ceiling beams were a bit low for me (at 1.88m), and I regularly bumped my head.

Wij aten à la carte. Er werden uitstekende aanpassingen aan de gerechten gedaan i.v.m. allergieën zonder afbreuk te doen aan de voortreffelijke smaken. Het bedienend personeel was zeer behulpzaam en vakkundig. Een heerlijke, verrassende smaakvolle avond!

No coherence in the dishes. Asparagus that was cooked in saffron which gives them a sweet taste. In no restaurant have I ever eaten them that way and there is a good reason for that. Was served with lamb where both a beanaise sauce and meat jus were added. Nice building but the chef and the service are not up to standard. For this money you will eat much better

This restaurant is run by a young team of enthusiasts. The menu aims for a Michelin star or a good Gault Milliaut score. The refined snacks of the different courses will surprise you. Reservations are recommended on weekends. Anyone who wants to eat something a little more exclusive without having to spend an exuberant amount of money can go here without any problem.

We had a fantastic meal here with a large group of 33 colleagues! We contacted Mirjam well in advance, who helped us perfectly. The entire restaurant was made available to us, so there were no other guests except our group. The restaurant was still full, because it is not super big. That really made the experience a big 10. This is exactly what you want with such a group. In the run-up to the evening, I had very pleasant communication via email about the menus, the options for table layout, allergies and dietary requirements and about a welcome drink. They thought along with us and so the Packhuys team gets a 10 for the service in advance alone. Upon arrival, everyone received a glass of bubbles (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), so that there was some time to walk in and after about an hour everyone could find their place. First an amuse was served, and then - quietly spread out over the evening - the 6-course menu. The time between courses was perfect, and even with such a large group, everyone was served at the same time. Personally, I really enjoyed all the courses. Each course was a party to discover all the flavours, accompanied by a delicious fruity red wine (the primitivo). The menu is not everyday, which makes it very nice, because you always taste new things, but it is certainly not inaccessible. Everyone can enjoy these beautiful dishes. I only got very positive feedback from the rest of the group. Everyone thought it was great! The vegetarian alternatives were also very well received, and were no less than the quality and experience of the regular version. All in all, the food was also a solid 10. The service left nothing to chance, they were great. Everyone always had something to drink, the courses were neatly explained, and you could just tell that everyone was enjoying themselves. There was chatting, laughing, delicious food and with a drink it was really a huge success. They even made an extra effort for us to make a cocktail that had not been agreed upon in advance, but this was done with great pleasure. Again a 10 for the ladies. In the end we were here from 18:00, with after-party, until about 23:30. Really enjoyed everything this evening. You have transformed our visit to Middelburg into a huge success. For us as the organization of such a team outing, this is everything we could wish for. Thank you very much for that and I will definitely come back again! Very tasty food, innovative, surprising, good, friendly service. Went for the 5-course menu with 4 glasses of wine. Everyone was satisfied. This place is without a doubt highly recommended.

Had a 6-course menu. Some dishes were really good, others mediocre. However, the service left much to be desired: long waits, wrong cutlery, virtually no choice of aperitif, error in the bill, and especially the wine service was substandard. Just not good enough for this price

Little menu choice, several dishes not hot, strange choice of white house wine (no chardonnay or sauvignon blanc), staff very poorly trained, which made the service very poor, a shame but we will certainly not return here, Middelburg has nicer restaurants with a wider choice.

Heerlijk genoten van een culinaire avond. 4 gangenmenu. Verfijnde, mooie gerechtjes. Mooi opgemaakte bordjes. Lust voor het oog. Echte smaakexplosie. Mooie speciaal erop afgestemde wijnen gedronken. Kortom we hebben genoten. Komen graag nog een keer terug.

Es war okay - mit verschiedenen Schwächen. Der junge Mann, der uns am Anfang bediente, fragte weder einen Aperitifwunsch ab noch gab es eine Erläuterung zum Menü. Die als Pre-Snack bestellten Austern wurden vergessen (und auf Nachfrage nach dem ersten Gang nachgeliefert). Das angebotene Brot zu den Vorspeisen war noch nicht fertig - und wurde dann später geliefert. Die überbackenen Austern waren wirklich mini - ebenso wie der Käseteller als Alternative zum Dessert. Man wählt sich drei Käsesorten aus, zahlt einen Aufpreis von 9 Euro zum Dessert - und erhält drei Löffelchen mit Käse. Ich habe wirklich noch nie so einen kleinen Käseteller in einem Restaurant gehabt. Der Service war mal besser, mal schlechter - und als wir am Ende bezahlen wollten und Bescheid gesagt hatten, kam gar niemand mehr. Für uns stimmte letztendlich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht, und wir würden nicht noch einmal wiederkommen.

Top zaak. Knusse zaak met erge leuke bedoening. Vriendelijk en geduldig en eten was echt lekker. De wijn was ook zeer goed. Ja een absoluut aanrader.

Wauw wat een leuk restaurant! Allereerst was ons hondje welkom. Eenmaal binnen was het een en al vriendelijkheid en gastvrijheid, top top top! De ambiance was huiselijk, gezellig en super mooi. Keuze uit 4 tot 7 gangen. De opmaak van de borden waren goed. De smaken en de ingrediënten waren geweldig. De wijnkaart is goed. De prijs-kwaliteit is zeer goed te noemen. Dank jullie wel voor een fijne avond en jullie gastvrijheid. We komen graag terug.
