Het Witte Huis in Wijk 01 Drimmelen

We had a genuinely enjoyable evening at Het Witte Huis. Drimmelen itself was lovely to walk around beforehand, and the restaurant has a warm, pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the food was very good. I'd happily eat here again. There was, however, one interaction that I found unnecessarily rigid. I ordered a fried-chicken Caesar salad as my meal but also fancied some fish and chips. I obviously didn't need two full adult meals, so I asked whether I could order the smaller children's portion of fish and chips alongside my full-priced salad. Initially I was told I couldn't order it because I was an adult. I pointed out that the combined price of my adult salad and the children's fish and chips was actually higher than ordering even their most expensive adult main course, so I clearly wasn't trying to use the children's menu as a way of getting a cheap dinner. They eventually agreed, but charged an additional €3.50 because of my age, and even then seemed hesitant about allowing it. I appreciate that restaurants are entitled to restrict children's menus by age, and there may be pricing considerations beyond simply the amount of food on the plate. But this seemed like exactly the situation where a little discretion would have made sense. I had already ordered a complete adult meal and simply wanted to pay for a small additional portion of something else. It certainly didn't ruin the evening, though. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff otherwise treated us well, and both the Caesar salad and fish and chips were enjoyable. After a somewhat frustrating day elsewhere in Drimmelen, Het Witte Huis was ultimately one of the enjoyable parts of the trip. Very good restaurant overall; I'd just love to see a little more flexibility when an unusual but perfectly reasonable request comes along.

Beautiful restaurant and tasty food, but unfortunately I had a tough beef steak. Still, it was cozy and a top location. We did a private tour with family at Le Pecheur through the Biesbosch. Juliette and Peter, hostess and captain, were very pleasant to sail with and, of course, very hospitable with snacks and drinks.

Yesterday we ate for Christmas for the second time; it was absolutely top-notch again. Compliments to the whole team. We wish you a fantastic 2019. We will be coming regularly, so feel free to book us for Christmas 2019. And thanks again for the limo service, it was super.

We ate there for the first time. We had made a reservation and were very late. This was not a problem. When we asked about the menu, we received friendly answers. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food tasted delicious and the portions were good (large) for an affordable price. Nowadays, restaurants everywhere are much smaller with unnecessary frills and more expensive. If we are in the area, we will definitely go back.

We ate there with 4 people for our 80th birthday. The pork schnitzel was very poorly cooked, with a thick crust that completely came off while eating, leaving you with a thin, tasteless piece of meat. That was an expensive piece of meat. Yesterday we had a delicious lunch at Het Witte Huis in Drimmelen. What a lovely place! A cozy atmosphere with a beautiful view of the marina, a nice cool breeze, and incredibly friendly staff. We chose the poké bowl and it was truly incredibly tasty. Normally I always take a picture of something like that, but the atmosphere was so nice that I just didn't think to do that this time. Delicious food in a beautiful location. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

We had dinner here as a couple and it was delicious. It was very busy for a Tuesday evening, but everything ran smoothly. We ordered a schnitzel and a hamburger; both were tasty. Despite the crowds, we didn't have to wait long for our food. Only the drinks sometimes took a bit longer to arrive, but otherwise the service was fine. Definitely recommended!

We rented a boat for my father-in-law's 70th birthday. On the recommendation of the cafe at the White House, we wanted to finish with dinner. We really shouldn't have done that after such a fun day! It started right at the reception; joining two tables together was not an option. So, we had to dine with a party of 9 people spread across two tables, which wasn't very nice. After the food was served, the staff never once asked if everything was to our liking. Three of the 9 meals were left untouched due to the poor quality. The fish and chips were definitely not fresh; completely overcooked and bone dry. The main salad was swimming in dressing, and the meat had a sour taste. After there was no further contact with the staff, we walked inside ourselves to pay. We pointed out how bad it had been, to which the response was: "If it was that bad, you should have reported it to the wait staff right away." To which we replied: "The plates are still full, and you didn't come to our tables for a single moment." In addition, there was hardly any staff walking around to ask or raise any questions. 0 empathy, 0 consideration; simply being able to pay the full amount without batting an eyelid. Not a single greeting upon leaving the establishment either. Truly a ridiculously large amount of money paid for very little! Go here if you want a drink, but for a bite to eat or service, really go somewhere else! We therefore feel treated with 0 courtesy.

Unprecedentedly bad management 😢 My husband had made a reservation for 1:00 PM because we wanted to have lunch with a group of 12. The waiter had made a mistake in the schedule and put us on the evening table? After we had ordered our drinks, no one came to take our lunch order. A drinks server did come by to ask 'if we wanted to order anything else to drink'. When I indicated that we wanted to order lunch, he said that wasn't his job, but he would call someone, but he had to get some drinks for the cash register first. After 10 minutes, our lunch order was finally taken. And then the long wait began…. And wait. After an hour and a half, no one at the table was really enjoying it anymore. Yes, we saw that it was busy, but not even a little extra water on the table or some bread on the house out of courtesy. Yet again, someone asked ‘if we wanted another drink’ I just walked over to the manager and indicated that after waiting for 1.5 hours, the fun had worn off. He then dared to say, ‘Yeah, you ordered later, didn't you! ??? How is that even possible… If NO ONE comes over to take our order? Seriously?🤬 ‘Max. 8 minutes left,’ he said then. We ate our lunch, But with some reluctance. Oh right, because the bread roll from one of the orders was smaller than the two croquettes that came with it, we asked if we could have an extra piece of bread; naturally, that was charged for too 🥴 When settling the bill, the receipt was incorrect once again. When we asked if they had any leniency for our long wait (without any communication in between or anything), we were simply told ‘no, that’s not how it works here’, and naturally, I paid well over €300 WITHOUT giving a tip. We are really very disappointed in the management… How do you NOT treat paying guests!

I sat on the terrace with my little dog today, because they are allowed (I asked politely). Until my pup saw another dog and started barking, and not continuously. Quite quickly, a young man came over and asked me to put my dog ​​in the car. 1 minute later he came back with “complaints” from inside. (there was no one inside btw) I didn't have to leave the terrace but my dog ​​did, and he asked if I could put him in the car (in the scorching heat!). Tip for you guys: stop letting dogs on the terrace, and maybe crying babies too, then? Or guests who talk loudly, it's all nonsense. The guests who were there agreed completely with me that I should just stay seated. And yes, you know very well who I am!

The food was good, but the garlic prawns starter, which was ordered twice, was only served once; the portion was burnt garlic and the prawns tough. The main course was fine for all three people. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and easygoing. Prompt service. The price-quality ratio was good.

Scandalous! We reserved for 7 PM and placed our order within fifteen minutes. After we finally received our food, which took an hour and forty-five minutes, it turned out there wasn't enough sushi. It was 9:01 PM at that moment and the kitchen was closed—there was no sushi left—while several tables around us were being served sushi. The manager came to tell us that we could only get fried food, while at 9:15 PM sushi was still being brought from the kitchen to other tables. The food is tasty—the service is scandalous. The wait staff is also cringe-worthy. No one pays attention to the guests. We will never be coming back! Such a shame at this beautiful location.

Very bad place. The sole was mediocre, and if you call factory-style fish balls with some fries Fish & Chips, then the chef needs to go back to culinary school. Haddock, or cod battered in a beer flour with tartar sauce and mushy peas, deep-fried with potato chunks... that is the name Fish & Chips... A... huge... disgrace !!!!!!

I ordered sushi via Thuisbezorgd and it was awful; it was like the avocado had gone bad. I ordered two portions and only ate half. Never again.

We had a good meal, but the fries are quite pricey for a small basket. The Matalot fish wasn't much either (quantity), the bavette, on the other hand, was fine.

My first time, and unfortunately for me, not again. The food wasn't special (a simple meal salad without frills and some salmon, but quite pricey). The service, however, was very friendly. The terrace was messy and there was a lot of trash on the ground, especially near the exit where the staff stands. I work in the hospitality industry myself, and this could really be much better. The toilets were also dirty.

The food is pretty okay but not exceptional and quite pricey, with disgusting smokers on the terrace right next to you while you eat. On top of that, 9.50 for an alcohol-free wheat beer is outrageous.

We ate here recently (during the heatwave). We were only allowed to sit on the terrace, even though we would have preferred to sit inside due to the heat. Some waiters were wearing very sloppy and dirty clothes, but the worst part was that at the adjacent table, five drunk people were sitting there drinking, shouting and bellowing loudly. This was particularly disruptive behavior for the other guests. Only after many guests had complained did the waiter speak to them, and things calmed down a bit. I am experiencing this more and more. Restaurateurs have to make a choice: either you run a pub or a restaurant where guests can eat in peace; a combination of both, like this establishment, simply doesn't work.

Today, as a regular customer, I was turned away at 9:10 PM. The kitchen closes at 9 PM; that is correct and I understand it, but is there nothing more that can be arranged? My wife had back surgery and walking is not going well today of all days, and we are regular customers. I have never seen this somewhat overweight person before. No sir, you are not above our rules. I was simply shocked by this; the service lately hasn't been anything to write home about anyway, and many people on the terrace were already complaining about it. In short, this is the last time we have eaten here. The boat was ashore last winter, and we used to have lunch every Saturday with at least 4 people. Unfortunately, that is over now. Boeien in Drimmelen has top-notch service, so from now on we will go to a higher and better segment where you are actually respected as a customer.

The staff is very unfriendly. We politely asked the staff if the men were allowed on the terrace with their bare midriffs; this was no problem at all. As soon as we sat down and wanted to order, we were sent away by the same woman.

The restaurant, or actually a sort of canteen, is dirty, worn out, and in need of a major renovation. The waiters look terribly scruffy, unappetizing, and unkempt. What would it be like in the kitchen? - yuck, I don't even want to know. The food was terrible and very expensive for what you got.. No goodbye or thanks upon leaving, and naturally, not a cent tip was given. In short, we will never, ever come back here!

Very tasty food and fast, friendly service. For me and my family, the portions were nice and large, which we couldn't finish ourselves. I did find it a bit dark if you sat a little further away from the windows, but it was certainly cozy with a beautiful view of the moored boats.

We ended up here since we were staying in the neighborhood. It belongs to the same owners. We had delicious sushi, although the pieces were sometimes a bit large. But it was very tasty!

We had a wonderful meal here tonight! We'd already looked online to see what we wanted to eat. When we arrived, they weren't on the restaurant's menu. Luckily, we could also choose from spareribs, ham, and schnitzel, which is exactly what we wanted. The ham and schnitzel were both truly delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a lovely window overlooking the harbor. The staff was also very friendly. We've found our favorite restaurant and will definitely be back when we're back in Kampen.

The food was okay. Nothing special. The service, however, was terrible. A while ago, we went here with a group of friends for a birthday dinner. We made a reservation well in advance, but when we arrived, there was no table ready, so we had to wait awkwardly until they put some tables together in a corner (so why do we make reservations?). They only asked us once the entire evening if we wanted drinks. The staff were not friendly. We won't be back.

The food wasn't great. I had the hamburger, but it was a bit dry, and we had to wait a very long time. We had to ask twice where our food was. Normally, you'd expect to receive some compensation... of course, things can always go wrong. But unfortunately, there was no apology. It's a shame. The atmosphere was certainly fine. A nice, cozy place. The dessert was good and beautifully presented. Maybe we were just unlucky and they were too busy at the time... still a shame. I don't think I'd go back again...

Das Restaurant ist voll besetzt. Nur am Wasser ist eine Reihe kleinerer Tische bei Superwetter frei. Ich bitte darum, an einem der Tische etwas trinken zu dürfen. No, this part of the restaurant is closed. Ich biete an, ein Bier an der Bar zu kaufen, es sofort zu bezahlen, an einem der Tische draußen zu trinken und das Glas auch wieder nach drinnen zu bringen. Keine Chance. It is closed! No, no, no! Kein sorry, kein Bedauern. Nur ein Herr, der eine Dame von oben abkanzelt. Ich habe mich selten so alleine und herabgesetzt gefühlt. Gestern noch habe ich ebenso alleine einen Umsatz von 50 Euro inklusive großzügigem Trinkgeld gemacht. Das wird nie wieder passieren.

Thought we would have a nice meal after sailing, but no. After waiting half an hour for drinks we got the wrong one, he brought the wrong drink back but never got the right one. We went to the bar to get it ourselves. The chicken satay that came half an hour later tasted like it came from the freezer, the burger was okay. After asking for the bill 3 times we went back to the bar ourselves and after indicating this was laughed off. Never again for us.

We came here for a ‘recovery’ dinner from 2 years ago. When we entered, no one was interested in serving us. Someone complained to his colleague about us sitting at a reserved table while we were just placed here. After 15 minutes we just left. We will never come here again.

We order sushi here regularly and it is always a hit! The quality is consistent and even if you eat on site it is a nice place. Last time something was unfortunately forgotten with the order, that can happen of course, but the follow-up delivery took a while. Personally I would like it if there were more sauces included. Otherwise a really great place - we will definitely come back here!

Great place. Compliments to the staff! We went in with the kids after a walk to just drink coffee/water, and the service was like for VIP guests.

Looks like a great lager, nice half litre. But after it was gone, I was immediately dry for at least 20 minutes. I walked around waving at the waiter, but they didn't come either, even waving with my empty glass of beer. Had high expectations of this tent near the water, but they did not deliver. I can't judge the food, because I didn't even have time to order appetizers.

Thought we would have a nice lunch. No baguette on lunch platter. Dessert was inedible. Italian dessert. The canolis were rock hard, ice cream was watery, cookies were so hard they almost broke your teeth in half. The strawberries were sooo sour and hard. So really a major setback.

Nice location, but after having lunch there twice in recent months, we unfortunately have to conclude that we don't think it tastes that special, it just isn't all that great. can be better.

The terrace is perfect for sitting next to the harbor of Drimmelen. The sushi and poke bowls are very tasty and freshly prepared. They also deliver to your home here in Lage Zwaluwe, always within an hour. Friendly delivery people and always enjoy!! Tip: the Spicy salmon pokebowl is delicious!
