Amazing and authentic Japanese Ramen. Homemade noodles and fresh ingredients. I loved the Vegan Ramen and the crispy tofu with sauce. The atmosphere is super cosy and the staff very nice. They deserve a nice tip 🙂

Great authentic japanese curry!

These windows are okay, but the price-quality ratio is off. And what I found gross was that a cockroach was crawling across the wall by the kitchen. It can happen, but still.

Omg I love the portions of this place 😅 and the staff is so sweet and kind, made us feel comfy right away!! it’s so rare to find value for money dishes in AMS so this place win a place in my stomach without doubt! I’m not a curry person but this curry chicken is so mild and yammi with proper texture rice that I definitely will come back to this place 🔥recommended

We easily got a table on a Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed in the dining room, so keep that in mind. The service was very attentive and quick, the drinks were delicious, and the food was excellent. Highly recommended; we felt very comfortable there.

Genuinely delicious ramen with a rich, flavorful broth, one of the better bowls we've had. The gyoza were juicy and well made too, no weak dish on the table. We went just before the typical rush hour and it was already nearly full, so this place is clearly popular, worth keeping in mind if you want to avoid a wait. We got lucky and snagged a terrace spot, a nice bonus if you can get one. Good accessibility note: it's ground floor, so it's wheelchair friendly, no stairs to deal with. On price, expect under twenty euros per person, solid value for the quality. Best for anyone wanting a genuinely good bowl of ramen in a cool atmosphere, just try to arrive early since it fills up fast.

Great service. Amazing food. Fire music.

To start with… I asked about appetizers, and found out that most of them are frozen, not made by the restaurant. A massive disappointment. So then, I ordered ramen since I got recommended this restaurant by a local. Let me just say, its overpriced, judging by how little sides it got (without an egg mind you, as I had to pay for an egg additionally - ofc its better to make vegan version and make people pay for an egg additionally, instead of making vegetarian and possibility of not taking an egg…). I did not get full after eating ramen and I am a girl, not a guy. My friend ordered ramen with meat and was disappointed as well. Definitely I will not return to this establishment. If you want nice ramen, go to otemba and get yourself tantanmen - absolute fire of a soup. Oh and also, do not sit outside, by the street, its pretty uncomfortable to eat ramen with tens of people walking by and watching you get all messy.

Good broth, noodles and ramen egg, but the chashu leaves a lot to be desired

What a lovely place this is. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxed thanks to the beautiful brick walls and wooden decor. Everything felt very authentic and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed the ramen and the karaage. The ramen served with the perfect soft-boiled egg was a real highlight of the meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good bowl of soup in this neighborhood. I will definitely be back here soon.

The Katsu curry chicken was really good, the curry tasted extremely authentic. Good spot for Japanese & Ramen in Amsterdam, will recommend for sure. A table outside in good weather is heavenly

First, the good: I had the daily special Hinata white. It was a nice light broth, I enjoyed it. The steamed+pan fried gyoza were also not bad. When I was greeted by the curly haired girl she was super nice and made me feel welcome. But that is where the good stops. The bad: 1) I got a clump of undercooked noodles in my ramen (I should have sent it back, I'm sure they would have fixed it but I was too hungry and kept eating. I did tell the waitress at the end about it though) 2) One of the other waitresses was constantly swearing and talking about a drug fueled bender and how someone got arrested because he was spitting on people. I just don't like hearing about that stuff (mostly the spitting part) when I'm eating. 3)the meal costed me 33 euros (one small beer + ramen + gyoza). It just was not worth it. Bad experience all around.

The chicken was also amazing: super fresh, tender, and juicy. And that Japanese drink (Ramune, I think?) was really nice and refreshing! 🫶 Cozy place with a peaceful atmosphere—I'll definitely be back.

the best Japanese curry rice ive ever tasted!!!

A small but cozy place. They don't have a huge menu, but they clearly know what they're doing. The yozas are delicious, but the ramen is especially spectacular. Very flavorful, well-balanced, a great ramen overall.

As a early bird, we had dinner at 17:30 o clock, so it was really empty and we really enjoyed it. It’s a calm area and with warm weather it’s a good place to be. The food was tasty, but at the end nothing really special ;)

It was great! We went there at around 7 and we were sat immediately despite the fact that it’s a tiny little place. We ordered a side dish and a ramen each. Everything was great, though the pork in the ramen was a bit chewy. I recommend coming there no more than 3 people, because there isn’t a lot of space. For two it was very good. Great service. I recommend the Yuzo Tiramisu! It was really good!

This was a lovely little accidentally find on our trip to Amsterdam. A traditional, wholesome raman house with a steam of happy customers. While the menu is small, the food is packed with flavour and I can't recommend enough.

One of my go-to ramen places in Amsterdam. Broth has good flavours, whether you choose shoyu or the miso based soup. The noodles are also satisfying, firm as I want it. And not to thick compared to some of the ramen shops in Amsterdam. Also, not part of a big, impersonal big chain. Only gave it a 4 because of pork chasu, it a bit dry. 4.5 will be a fair score in my opinion.

So cozy! Had the ginger shoyu ramen and it was fabulous, also the edamame and the steamed shrimp dumplings were worth the wait (which was pretty much non existent). The waitresses made the experience even better by being very cute 💫💫💫

Walked by while exploring Amsterdam and Popping in was the best decision!! Their range of Japanese Whiskey was spectacular, Gyoza was delicious, and the staff were all really special. The team truly made my experience with their friendliness and general hospitality, they took great care of me and I felt immediately comfortable, such a welcoming venue with a warm vibe. Special thanks to Zuzana for her friendliness <3 wish I got the names of the other ladies! If you’re in the area, make sure to pay Hinata a visit, you’ll be glad you did! The place is nice and the staff are friendly but the ramen tastes like instant ramen with sesame oil.

The food is delicious, but the only downside is that the dining room is really small. There's no space between the tables, and there aren't even any coat hangers.

The best ramen I have ever tried

Ordered two different types of ramen and was not impressed. The soup base was thin in flavor and complexity. It wasn’t bad, I just had too many great ones before. And considering the price, I would not come back. Service was fair, the environment basic.

Great Ramen restaurant in the heart of the Jordaan area of Amsterdam- they have an extended menu with various broths and ingredients: I had the best-seller with Ginger which was very nice in taste! I also liked the meat in the soup is thin sliced, and therefore better to eat! They don’t do reservations so first come, first serve!

Me and my fiance were looking for a nice spot to have dinner in Amsterdam, but a bit out of the tourist area. We managed to find this cute little restaurant in which we had one of the best ramen we ever had - and we’ve already been to Japan - so what a nice surprise! The price is also very ok for Amsterdam standards, and the service was quick and very nice.

Very good neighborhood restaurant. Decent portion size. A little bland. I'll come back if I'm looking for somewhere to eat.

Had a nice and cozy evening with excellent service.

I have to start by saying this ramen is expensive for what it is. However, for what it is, it is good. I had the shoyu, and it was solid. The toppings are kept simple but every topping was well done. The chashu seems to be pork shoulder rather than pork belly, so don't expect the melt in your mouth fatty chashu. But for pork shoulder chashu, it was quite good. If I lived here, and if the ramen was €14 instead of €17.5, I would come all the time since simple shoyu ramen hits the spot for me. And it was good, simple ramen.

Vegan ramen and curry available 🌱 Always full of people so you can wait for a table for a bit, but worth the wait :) It was a bit pricey (we paid around 54 euros for ramen, tofu, curry and one water) but the food was good.

Ramen was fantastic, all apps were solid too. Great playlist.

We went here twice whilst staying in the area and were delighted both times! The service was always friendly and attentive, even on a busy night. The ramen is great and their speciality but the other dishes are perfect too.

We arrived for lunch rather late, around 3 p.m., and they don't close until midday, which is a great idea. The curry rice was delicious and the food was generous. The ramen was flavorful, and the takoyakis were really good.

Terrible ramen, not authentic at all. I ordered the Shoyu ramen which had no Shoyu taste whatsoever. You are better off making instant ramen.

Ordered the spicy miso veg ramen and some prawn croquettes. My mom and sis ordered the veg miso, we were all disappointed with the ramen which came from the kitchen super quick, like 5mins or so, which we found sketchy. The broth was blegh, no taste almost, the noodles were however good. But what really bothered us was all the spinach leaves they put on the ramen. First ramen I've had with spinach. The service was nice and the decoration is also nice.

Got food poisoning from here. I asked for a ramen without some things because I am allergic and they still put them in my ramen. Overall, a bad experience. The flavour wasn't that good for the price. We decided to come here because of the good reviews and left highly disappointed. I wouldn't recommend coming here just for the risk of it. My friend also got food poisoning from another plate.

Very friendly and original place in design since some tables are in "bar" version with high chairs and you are seated next to 2 strangers if you do not come with 4 but normal tables are installed inside and outside. If you are looking for an "ordinary" restaurant you will be disappointed but if you are looking for a restaurant with a small menu with succulent dishes and an impressive list of Japanese whiskey, to be discovered for some, you will be in the right place. Move away from the center to discover places like this, you will not be disappointed.

Busy restaurant serving good food

Was alright… the flavour was decent but it didn’t really give me that “can’t wait to come back here again” feeling. Service was nice but it took a bit long for two dishes to arrive.

I found the shoyu ramen here overwhelmingly salty even though it was mentioned on the menu. Unfortunately, it was so strong that it made it hard to really enjoy the dish. Might be just a personal preference, but I wouldn’t recommend this one unless you really like intense saltiness :/

1st things 1st, the food tasted nice. BUT Issue (s) couldn't be ignored: 1- The lady taking the orders felt like she was about to throw a punch at any second and she felt extremely aggressive which did not feel welcoming 2- She offered new customers some extra choices and options which wasn't mentioned to us at all, and it gave some racist vibes if I have to be honest 3- The cutlery was dirty and had dried unknown things on it which ended up with me using disposable chopsticks to eat rice 4- One of the dishes had hair in which kinda ruined the entire mood Hygiene is highly questionable in that restaurant that's for sure and what makes things even more intense is the behavior of that lady who takes orders with her aggressive behavior that intimidates u to even ask for any help on the issues. Will I ever go there again? Most likely not, good food is nice but good Hygiene is a must with every food experience + good service and attitude. Pity experience after all but an experience after all.

Great restaurant. I was a bit hesitant at first because you can't make reservations in advance. Luckily, we arrived on time and there was no line. It can get busy and you might have to wait for a table. We had octopus balls with Japanese curry, and my wife had extra fried pork belly with rice and spinach. It was excellent. We had eaten these dishes before in Japan on vacation but hadn't yet found a restaurant where we could eat them again without having to go to Japan. It was a 9/10, if I may say so myself. It was the same as in Japan. I will definitely come back. The price, at 15 euros for a meal plus 3 euros extra for a bowl of rice, is also not expensive.

One of the best Asian spots in the area, their specialty is in ramens but they have other great alternatives also, I usually get spicy miso ramen but this time I got the Chicken Katsu Curry which was also great.

Family dinner. Cozy restaurant, maybe more of a bistro with high tables and stools. The guys who work there are very kind and fast in service. We had the White ramen of the day, very good and delicate, in Katsu curry equally good and spicy, a Kara shoyu that perhaps could have had a little more flavor. The AgeGyozaVeg really very good, the normal KaraAge. Honest prices, I recommend if you are in the area and love ramen 👍

Service was not good. We finally had to flag down a server after almost 20’min to take our order. Food was pretty good , you all will like it. But it’s a noisy place on a Saturday night and you will wait for a table.

I came twice during my 4-day trip in Amsterdam. The food was amazing, especially for vegetarian choices (⸝⸝⸝ᵒ̴̶̷ᴗᵒ̴̶̷ꕤ) I tried the Miso ramen and veg katsu curry rice !! Don’t forget to order the vegan Takoyaki , you will love it.

Bad service and regular ramen. I was back in town really looking forward to have my favourite ramen of the city. To my surprise it was tasteless… The waitress was very rude and not nice. Super bad experience…

Small ramen restaurant in the Jordaan, a little bit of a wait on busy days if you haven't booked, but there's a waitlist system that makes it quite convenient. It has a bit of a canteen feel, with shared high tables where you eat, and it's a bit noisy, but it creates a rather nice atmosphere. We tried the miso ramen, which was quite good but quite heavy. The karaage chicken on the side is good but not necessary, given the consistency of the ramen itself. Very friendly service.

Absolutely loved the ambiance, the food and the service!!

I have yet to visit Japan, but Hinata serves what I consider the finest ramen I’ve encountered anywhere — from Europe to Asia and across the United States. Their service is warm, steady, and reassuringly consistent. You know a Japanese restaurant in Amsterdam is worth your time when native Japanese diners themselves return time and again. The only drawback is their policy of not accepting reservations, which makes it a less practical choice for a casual visit or a spontaneous evening out. Still, their ramen broths are a class apart, rich, layered, and especially soothing on a cold winter day. Hinata remains one of the few places I recommend without hesitation.

The karaage is out of this world. Exactly like I had in Japan

I recently went to a restaurant, Hinata Amsterdam, an authentic vegan ramen restaurant. It was on the recommendation of a colleague. She's not my favorite colleague, but she was so excited that I went there with my friend. When we got there we had to wait a long time at the door before anyone came to us. We were then unceremoniously placed in a corner, where the real waiting only began. We had to ask for a menu, and were given an English menu. I looked to see if there was a QR code taped to the table; maybe we could order that way. When service finally arrived (she didn't speak Dutch) we ordered a Hinata White with Spinach and Corn. They didn't have it. Then Pork Ginger. They didn't have either. Then Karamiso Ramen. They did, but no Pork Chasu. All in all, quite a puzzle to place an order. But what I noticed upon entering started to become more and more noticeable: the smell of Wet Dog. I don't want to present myself as a die-hard vegan, so maybe Vegan Ramen is supposed to smell like that, but for me that's a real turn-off. They already show their attitude on their website: "Walk-ins only. We do not take any reservations." "If you are addicted to the kick of MSG Ramen, we may not be the right place." This is also reflected in their sparse table setting: only chopsticks. No forks, no knives. Nothing. Also no mayo or sambal. And the look in their eyes says: don't you dare ask for a spoon. Or a napkin. After more than 20(!) minutes (how complicated is it to spoon already warm broth into a bowl), without bread or anything else (prawn crackers?) the order was placed on the table, as if it were Jesus Christ himself. But that sky again, and now up close. I really did my best and looked back through the menu to see what we were actually eating. It was difficult to trace. Semi-floating spongy beige things. Bat embryos? They do that in those parts. I hope it was tofu. Normally I never hope something is tofu. In the end, we left most of it alone, under the guise of 'large portions'. And I also rounded up the bill, so that we were back on the street 100 euros lighter. The worst came later in the evening. But I'll spare you my sanitary worries.

Very delicious meal. Would recommend to anyone for the flavours.

I ate here with my family and loved everything about it. The service is fantastic, the lady is very friendly and patiently answers questions. The food is absolutely delicious; I loved the ramen and the yuzu drink I ordered. The music they play to ambiance the place is the icing on the cake. I love it. I'll be back.

Food was of high quality in relation to the price. Preparation was quick. If you order a vegetarian ramen dish be prepared for a nearly inordinate amount of spinach. With regard to the service, it may have been an exception but my party was not impressed with the service. I waited for 20 min, which is what the staff told me I could expect to wait for. I did not get an update after 25+ minutes, until I went in and asked. After waiting for 50 minutes, they called the name and invited us in. They did not thank us for waiting or smile at us. Probably the least you could do. I expected better service from a restaurant where the food is really good and the queues are very long. Atmosphere is great, densely packed.

Very disappointed. We had the karamiso miso ramen but it didnt have any flavour.

I discover Hinata very recently even though i had it on my list for long time! I could never explain how much i loved this place!! The ambiance, the food, the staff! It was really amazing! Looking forward to be back! They do not take reservations, but the service is so fast that even on a very busy Saturday i waited around 20 mins only. Unfortunately i did not do any pictures, but i will be back 🙂

Ramen is usually good, but not exceptional. My favorite is the chicken katsu. It's really good and much better than other Japanese restaurants that I tried. The staff is super friendly as well. It's usually my go-to place for a quick mid day meal in a chill setting.

The service is excellent, I was very well attended. The appetizers are delicious, especially the karaage. The miso ramen lacked miso flavor, but everything else was great. There is also a wide variety of oriental drinks and beverages. I went on a Monday night, so it wasn’t crowded. I recommend it, but not if you're a miso enthusiast.

I was excited to try Hinata, and the ramen certainly didn't disappoint. I had two vegan starters, which were really nice, too. The service wasn't great, but one of the staff was doing her best to make amends. Perhaps it was also a language barrier - fair enough, I can accept that. I'd definitely give it another try on my next visit. Two things to mention: it's a tight squeeze, and you can't book ahead.

Because of the good reviews, my friend and I went to the restaurant. We love Japanese food and had high expectations. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The takoyaki were like frozen and then warmed up. Tasteless and the sauce was almost completely missing. The karaage only tasted like frying fat. The Kara Miso Ramen was ok, but tasted very bland. I didn't like the veggie miso ramen at all. The soup didn't taste like miso. The portion sizes were also very small. We liked the service and the ambience, but overall we were disappointed and dissatisfied with the food :(
