SORA Sapporo Ramen - West in Van Galenbuurt

I had the Gokujo Sapporo Shoyu Ramen and I was very disappointed. The shoyu broth had a weak flavour, the minced meat was barely there, same for the very small portion of Charsiu. I had to try 6 different chopsticks to find a set that wasnt greasy and slipping from my hand. Overall it was a sad experience, I recommend you to go to Takumi for a better meal.

Friendly staff and amazing Ramen. I recommend the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen. The Sapporo beer is surprisingly good, it’s a bit “salty” and it feels really light.

Our first visit but definitely not the last. Texture of the ramen itself is really good. The specialty ramen is, a lot. But it is special. I have never had it even in Hokkaido before so it was interesting to try. It's tasty, just not what I expect in any of my ramen. Would love to try the tonkotsu or chicken paitan ramen next to taste the real standards. The karaage is one of the best in Europe. A pity they don't have lemon to go with it. At least I don't have to go to dusseldorf for a good authentic one anymore. For now, I still like the general service and vibe of the place.

Best ramen I’ve tried in Amsterdam so far. You can eat there or take away, we ate there, it’s not fancy or anything as restaurant but it’s okay.

The worst ramen I've ever eaten. Little expressiveness and flavor. Only the dumplings didn't disappoint, but that's probably hard to mess up. Nice atmosphere, good service, but the ramen itself leaves much to be desired. Pity!

I like to come here as their ramen is quite good. There is a wide choice of different kind of ramens so everyone can find something for itself. The place is often crowded, so better book the table.Prices are quite high but quality is good.

We were welcomed by a pleasant service. They explained to us how should we order through their QR code on the table. We did not wait so long to get our ramen. The ramen was delicious. The flavours were balanced. I can only recommend it.

The best Ramen I've had in the Netherlands. Very full bowl with lots of veggies and meat. I've never had cabbage in ramen before and it added a nice crunchy texture. The staff were very nice, too. I just wish they were open longer hours on a weekday. Can't wait to visit again.

We just move to this neighborhood not long ago so there are so many restaurants that we need to explore. This ramen place is caught our eyes with many good reviews so we must try. The first impression when we arrive was how small of this ramen place. They have limited seats so people just eat, finish and leave. If you want to just spend long time with your meal for some chitchats, this might not be a place for you. The staffs are so friendly and will assist you with what you need even though the restaurant is so busy. We ordered recommended dish. I love my tonkotsu shoyu ramen with toppings of eggs and leek. My meal was perfect and soup broth is good! My husband ordered Gokujo Sapporo Kuro Miso Ramen, it was tasty at the beginning but he finds it’s quite salty mid way of the meal. Still, he finished the ramen. There are other ramens we would like to try so we will be back there for sure!

I came here after being recommended by a friend. However the experience was very disappointing. The broth and noodles were ok, but the pork had no flavor and was very chewy. Also my ramen dish had just too much of the ingredients and was missing the balance. As a side dish I ordered the Karaage and Edamame. Both were nice but I wasn’t blown away.

A few vegetarian options but unfortunately it was not tasty at all. It was in fact really bad, my friend who had meat ramen was happy tho. I left hungry and felt like I paid for nothing. Nice people working there but would recommend this place only for people who chose non veggie ramen

I really DO NOT the understand the 4.6 overall rating because the ramen here is not good at all. I ate here 3x ordering a different dish everytime to give them the benefit of the doubt but I always leave with the same level if disappointment if not worse. Their ramen is NOT ramen and has been very westernized. Meh.

The food was so good. My ramen was missing an egg but they made up for it by giving us an extra one, so nice of them 🤩

I’ve ordered due to good reviews but the ramen was soggy and the soup not tasty but salty salty, I don’t understand the good reviews maybe those people never tasted a good ramen before. One of the worse ramen I’ve eaten in Amsterdam and I’ve tried most of the restaurants, we ordered 2 portions but the food tastes so bad that we shared one and the other one went straight to the garbage. I’m so so angry when the food is so bad that it a mistreatment of my palate

We have been coming to SORA for years. Immediately after opening on Ceintuurbaan and also regularly in West. And, of course, because of the fantastic ramen. As Japan fans, we have a bit of experience. But what happened? In West!? Unsafe, unfriendly staff, terrible music. 3 employees, 2 guests (us), and we are supposed to order online, which doesn't work. Old-fashioned verbally placed the order, and almost everything came. Maybe too German, but the windows and toilet walls, oh well. Everything is very un-Japanese. If only the ramen wasn't so delicious...

Very good ramen. but be careful when you Oder on Ubereats. they might send your driver with soap no noodles or noodles no soup. I call then to ask for help and instead of taking responsibility they blame it on Uber driver. You are the restaurant you should make sure you give the drivers a complete order not ubereats. Especially for that price.

Came here with 1 friend on a Wednesday for a short dinner. Spent 60 euro. After 45 min, plate still half full, we were asked if we had paid already. Waitress came a second and third time (in 5 min time) asking us to leave now because she had 6 people waiting outside. We left, place half empty and nobody came. Really weird service. Sad because the food was great. Not sure we will come again.

Very good food. The ramen to the point and we also got a rice bowl with pork. Good flavors but I felt the pork to be extremely fatty. I will assume that is how its suppose to be .. but I have had ramen in places with more leaner option. Nevertheless good stuff. The staff was kind to accommodate us 15 minutes before closing.

Your new online payment system via QR code is really ridiculous. You force dine-in patrons to pay before their meals, and on top of that you ask us to tip before we even receive service. What are we tipping for exactly? If you want us to prepay for meals like ramen bars on Japan, then don't ask for tips. I love Sora for many years, but this seriously turns me off and that makes me sad since the ramen is good.

I really enjoyed SORA Ramen in Amsterdam West. The ramen is yummy and they have cold Kirin beer right from the tap. My favorite was the Spicy Miso Ramen, but be careful, it's very hot! My wife found it too spicy. However only the broth is hot ;-) The restaurant is small and quiet, with tiny tables. It's comfortable but simple. There's no music, which I missed. It would be more fun with tunes in the background. Remember, you can't book a table ahead of time. Also, they only accept credit cards or PIN for buying your meal. A bowl of ramen will cost you about 16 to 18 EUR. I't not that pricey if you consider the other dinning options in the area, and I believe it's the top ramen you can find around here. They're open for a long time, from lunch all the way to 9pm, but only on weekdays. So, plan your visit accordingly... This place is a must!

I love love the broth, its the wintery sapporo comfort that one needs when they wanna lubricate their arteries with butter and heavenly goodness. i also especially love that they have rice !! a must need with a good authentic ramen !!

De ramen erg lekker, moest wel vragen of ze de char sui een beetje doorbakken kon, was anders erg sponzig en vet. Wat tegenviel was de echt heel goedkope papieren servetjes op tafel, en met een slurp/ noodle soep is de kans om te ‘spetteren’ erg groot, hoe netjes je ook eet. Bediening heel goed dat maakt een verschil.

The place is quite small, only got less than 10 tables in the restaurant but all tables are not very tight and got enough space so so far is still acceptable and still comfort enough to sit. We order two different ramen to try with same soup base which is miso soup 🍜. Miso soup is a bit salty but acceptable. Meats are quite big portion but taste quite dry. Egg is a bit disappointing cause it is not raw enough and I can’t taste anything… Overall it is not too bad, if you looking for something that is big portion, I will recommend it and noodles taste good with a good texture, not too soft or too thick which is very good. Staff are very nice and helpful with a good smile 😊 very warm Sapporo style ramen restaurant

Loved it! One of my favourite ramen in the city. Tried their number one recommendation (miso ramen with pork) and the spicy veggy one. Both were delicious, even though my preference goes to the vegetarian one. There's the right amount of options for ramen and appetizers / snacks (we had the takoyaki and they were good!) and also a very good sake. The place is quite small but not overcrowded. Probably better to not go at peak time as they don't take reservations.

Great little "hole in the wall" ramen eatery. Order via card using QR code system. Easy and efficient. Dishes come out quick. Friendly staff. Good size slices of char siu pork. We ordered the Shio Ramen with chicken cutlet and shio Ramen with pork char siu, extra Ramen egg, and Ramen noodles filling and satisfying taste. For dessert, we tried the ice cream mochi-give those a 3 star review.

Fuimos allí para una cena familiar. Es un ramen de buen sabor, pero en realidad no es suficiente ni sustancial. Este es un aperitivo en el mejor de los casos. Incluso mi hija de 13 años todavía tenía hambre cuando nos fuimos, realmente me fui bastante irritada y hambrienta. Tenía muchas ganas de tener esto en el vecindario y esperaba poder escribir una buena reseña. El personal es muy agradable, pero la comida sería apenas aceptable incluso a mitad de precio.
