Amazing ramen, friendly staff and overall a very nice place to stop for a bite!

The place is small and quite cramped. The menu is extensive, with most of the ramen made with poultry. The meat is average quality, the broths are very good, and the noodles have an interesting, crinkly texture. The flavor combinations are okay, with none of them surprising me with anything exceptional. The prices are quite reasonable for the Netherlands, considering the portion sizes. The restroom isn't the prettiest or most well-maintained.

Excellent food, but above all, a huge thank you to the entire team for their kindness, their constant attentiveness, and their smiles. The best service in Amsterdam during our stay.

I was offended by the way they treated me right from the entrance. I was waiting outside, and they came out a little later, told me to sit anywhere with a stern look, and then stormed off. There were two staff members; one was really kind and nice. However, the other one was quite rude. They served my beer practically throwing it at me while muttering something. I wondered if they treated other customers that way, but they only did it to me, since I was the only Asian person in the restaurant. But the staff members are Japanese, too. Are you discriminating against fellow Asians? What did I do from the moment I walked in? I just visited, went in quietly, and ate. I am confident that I did not do anything that was disruptive to this restaurant. I am a Korean living in the UK, and I have a very positive perception of Japan. I have never been treated like this at any Japanese restaurant in the UK. Of all the Japanese people I have met so far, this is the first time I have seen someone this rude. Remember this: your small actions can change the perception of your country, especially in a country with so few Asians like this. Thanks to you, I won't be going to the Netherlands to eat Japanese food in the future! Is it right to greet other Westerners with a friendly smile, but serve me with a stern look, practically throwing the beer at me? To everyone reading this, I recommend this only to those who, as Asians, want to experience discrimination from fellow Asians. It doesn't matter if you are Korean, Japanese, or Chinese. You will receive rude treatment simply because you are Asian! Of course, if you are a Westerner reading this, go away. They only discriminate against your own race. *Written in a translation style to make it easier to translate into any language.* I was very disappointed by my experience here. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. I was waiting at the entrance, and after a while, one of the staff members finally came over, told me to “sit anywhere” in a cold tone, and immediately walked away. There were two staff members working that day. One of them was genuinely kind and polite, and I really appreciated their service. Unfortunately, the other staff member was the complete opposite. When my beer arrived, it was placed on the table in a way that felt more like it was being thrown at me than served. They also muttered something under their breath while doing it. Throughout my visit, their attitude towards me was consistently cold and dismissive. What confused me the most was that I didn’t see them treating other customers this way. They smiled, chatted, and were friendly with other diners. I was the only Asian customer in the restaurant, and I noticed I was the only one receiving this kind of treatment. The staff themselves also appeared to be Japanese, which made the experience even more upsetting. I honestly have no idea what I could have done wrong. I simply came in quietly, waited to be seated, ate my meal, and left. I’m confident I wasn’t loud, rude, or disruptive in any way. I’m Korean and I live in the UK. I have a very positive impression of Japan and Japanese people, and I’ve visited many Japanese restaurants in the UK without ever experiencing anything like this. This was the first time I've met someone who treated me with such disrespect. I can’t say for certain why I was treated differently, but it truly made me feel as though I was being treated differently because I was Asian. If that wasn’t the intention, then that’s exactly how it came across. Please remember that small actions leave lasting impressions. In countries where there are relatively few Asian people, the way you treat someone can shape how they remember not only your restaurant, but also the people they associate it with. Sadly, after this experience, I don’t think I’ll be choosing a Japanese restaurant in the Netherlands again. To anyone reading this: if you’re Asian, be aware that your experience may be very different from mine, but mine left me feeling singled out and unwelcome. If you’re not Asian, you may have a completely different experience. I can only speak honestly about what happened to me.

One of the best places in Amsterdam for ramen

Really nice ramen here, the broth stood out, I specifically ordered mine with extra black garlic oil, which added great depth of flavor. We also got chicken karaage with rice, and it was really, really good, no complaints there either. The interior has a genuinely cute, authentic Japanese feel to it, and the seating deserves a special mention, honestly the most comfortable chairs I've come across at a ramen place, it actually makes a difference when you're sitting and enjoying a proper bowl rather than rushing through it. It's popular, I had to call ahead before we went, so I'd recommend doing the same or booking if possible rather than just walking in. On price, expect around twenty euros per person or a bit more if you're adding drinks, solid value for the quality. Best for ramen lovers who appreciate a rich, flavorful broth and want a genuinely comfortable place to sit and enjoy it, especially if you're a fan of black garlic oil as an add-on.

Overpriced, and they nickel-and-dime you for everything. A small bottle of water was €5, and there were extra charges for nearly every add-on. I don’t mind paying for extras, but charging almost €2 just to make a dish spicy-ier seemed excessive, especially compared to other ramen restaurants we’ve visited in Europe/America. I ordered my ramen extra spicy, but it still wasn’t very spicy. The ramen itself was okay, nothing memorable. For nearly €60 for two people, it didn’t feel like a good value, especially for a meal (ramen) that’s generally considered casual, quick, and affordable. Overall, it just wasn’t worth the price. (Save your money)

Wow, what a ramen! We came purely because of the Google reviews, and we definitely made the right choice! We were seated quickly and ordered the gyoza for starters, which was incredibly well-made. We also tried the octopus balls, but they weren't really our thing. The ramens, however, were the real stars of the show. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had in my life. If I lived in Amsterdam, I would come back over and over again

We were planning to go to the other ramen place by the canal but the waiter was very unwelcoming so we looked on google map for a different one. We were lucky to decide to leave and to come to Takumi because the ramen were delicious and they’ve got big portions.

I asked the waitress for the most popular dish. I got ramen with shrimp and pieces of meat. The broth was tasty. The toppings were good but not exciting. It lacked seasoning. The egg was cold. Overall, I give it an 8. The gyoza dishes were good. Friendly service. Outdoor seating.

Antisocial bad personnell, when you want to use the bathroom they even talk and say out loud and ask if you are eting there, while i wanted to wash my hands before eating there. Very antisocial low respect, its not typical Japanese but more like a Dutch antisocial unwelcoming behaviour

My favorite ramen place! But that wouldve been great if they offered smaller portions with lower prices. I can’t finish my food so I feel bad and I cant ask to bring with me it would get soggy. I know its a franchise but I am writing anyway

No unnecessary noise, no forced trendy aesthetics — just an authentic and welcoming ramen spot where the focus stays exactly where it should: on the food. And the ramen is genuinely excellent. Rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles and well-balanced ingredients come together to create a bowl that feels deeply satisfying without becoming overly heavy. You can immediately tell that care and consistency go into every dish. Another huge plus is the portion size. The dishes are very generous, making the experience even more enjoyable. It is the kind of meal that leaves you fully satisfied in the best possible way. The overall experience feels honest, warm and uncomplicated — a place where you come for good ramen and end up wanting to stay longer than expected.

Perfect place! Went there twice

If you’re in Amsterdam and really enjoy ramen, this is the place to go.

This was my first time trying ramen, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The soup was delicious, and the chicken was perfect—crispy on the outside while remaining tender on the inside. The noodles were spectacular, and the egg was really well-cooked. The portions are a great size for the price, and the food arrived very quickly. We visited during the day and didn't have to wait for a table at all. Highly recommended if you want a high-quality, fast, and tasty meal!

A great place for very good ramen. One of the best I've ever had. Friendly service and a very helpful waitress. However, it's worth noting that the place was crowded and loud. 😊

The gyoza was really good, the staff had no problem giving forks instead of chopsticks, also our waitress was really nice and answered all of our questions. The place is beautifully decorated with posters. The only minus I could see was the facr that the place is really small, but that wasn't a problem for us.

Similar to British wagamama alkaline noodles - not recommended homemade iced tea - mostly sugary flavor, and costs 5 euros - not recommended either.

I ordered their signature noukou chicken ramen (R01). The broth was the best- hearty and warm. The fried chicken was very tender and juicy. It’s a bit expensive overall. It gets quite crowded during lunch hour so there might be a long waiting time.

Disappointed with their curry 😔 was a big portion but made with either lots of starch or something else to make it thicker while reducing real the spices and sauce ingredients. Tasted like that mucus-like soup from a cheap indian place.

We went as father and son (age 11) with good food experience in Japan and pan Asian cuisine. The ramen lived up to expectations, the noodles perfectly textured, the miso base was right on point. The service was great, friendly and quick but not pushy. Will definitely return.

One of my best ramen experiences in Amsterdam! The broth was incredibly rich and full of flavor, and the meat was just as delicious. Even my friend, who was trying ramen for the first time, really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely and made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place!

I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetable soy sauce ramen.

The food and this restaurant are simply amazing. It was exceptionally delicious, quick to prepare, and the service was incredible. On top of that, it has the feel of actually being in a ramen shop in Japan.

The food was really good, but it’s crazy that you pay €4.20 for a can of Coke, and then they charge you an extra €0.15 on the bill and say you can take the can home if you want.

Really solid shoyu, shiso, and miso ramen. Great and prompt service. Just in case it matters, they do not serve tonkatsu ramen. Our favorite was the shoyu.

Ramen is prepared quickly due to the high volume of customers and the fast turnover. It's served rapidly, but the noodles don't have enough time in the broth, and although there are different varieties, they are all very similar in flavor.

I’m out sure what the big hype is about this place. Surely there are more Ramen places in Amsterdam serving more delicious ramen with bigger portions. I was craving Ramen and came in for lunch. I was quite disappointed with the service but then the Ramen came and the bowl was half full! 18eu for Ramen and I left hungry. I thought the portions were too small. The broth was okay, but could be better.

NYAMIIIIII!! Super richhh broth and chicken omg <3 in this cold weather it’s a perfecttt dinner !! Went here with my friend and ask for a table for 2 and when we got there turns out our friend want to join as well so we ask for another chair for the 3 of us and they manage it so well!! The service is soooo niceee & kind ♥️♥️ also the food is top notchhhhh you need to try their chicken ramen for sureeee (it’s proven by the queues every night as well) but theiir place is quite small sooo better to reserve or come early (outside peak hour!)

Great experience here at Takumi Amsterdam! I’ve already tried the brand in Brussels, but unfortunately it wasn’t that good. The ramen are tasty and full of flavor, and the team is super friendly! It gets a bit noisy when crowded, but nothing too disturbing.

Very impressed by the atmosphere and food. The staff was friendly and gave us good advice on spciness levels. As you can see from the picture, the ramen looked good, full of taste and well flavoured. Also it's located in a convenient area and it's easy to reach by public transport & bike.

Almost everything I'm in Amsterdam, I hit this spot for delicious ramen. The place is small but warm and lively and is definitely worth the wait. Tonight was black garlic ramen, gyoza and mint tea. Perfection to end a chilly, rainy day in the 'Dam.
