House Of Fries in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

During my visit, I was disappointed by the behavior of some of the staff members. I observed employees making inappropriate comments and gestures towards women passing by, which created a very uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere. I would like to urge the franchise owner and management to address this issue seriously and ensure that staff maintain respectful and professional conduct at all times. Such behavior is unacceptable and can negatively affect customers as well as the reputation of the establishment. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this place until these concerns are properly addressed.

Bad French fries. No point in spending money here.

It's true the fries are very good (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside), but I'm only giving it 3 stars because the prices are outrageous! €4 for a tiny tray of plain fries (no sauce or anything). €6 for a medium tray. At that price, you're getting at least 5kg of potatoes! Plus, the sauces are extra. The cheapest and most basic (ketchup...) costs €1, the more elaborate sauces (curry, garlic...) are at least €1.50... Fries served with a side (parmesan, shrimp, chicken...) cost €13 for a medium portion (see the receipts). You can only eat standing up (there are a few tables outside and two or three counters inside). In short, it's very expensive for potatoes, but they are very good.

I had lunch without a reservation, I think I was lucky, they have very good food. I recommend!

I am writing a negative review for this fries shop in Amsterdam. The quality of the fries was not good, the prices were high compared to other places, and the staff were not friendly. Overall, I was not satisfied with my experience and would not come back.

The fries are absolutely delicious, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can tell they’re freshly made, with just the right golden crunch in every bite. Simple, but seriously satisfying. Definitely worth trying!

Delicious fries with various sauces in different combinations. Orders can be placed via the ordering kiosk. It's always packed and unfortunately there's very little standing room (no seating).

The fish nuggets were good, but some of the potatoes were cut far too thick and therefore cooked unevenly. Considering you have to eat it standing up or take it away, it's far too expensive.

You arrive, order at the kiosk, and they hand you your food. The spicy mayonnaise is indeed spicy, so if you're Mexican, you'll like it. The place is small, and you eat standing up.

Great if you want a quick and tasty meal. It just needs a smile from the staff to be perfect. The homemade fries are very good, and the meats are classic and basic. There's indoor and outdoor seating for standing and eating on the go. So I recommend it if you want a quick and inexpensive meal.

The truffle fries were really expensive, but tasted really good and were fresh made, a great snack, the store itself wasnt that goodlooking or cozy, good for take a way 😁

We went there and it was very nice. I don't recommend the sweet potatoes (it's not my preference), but I would recommend the one with onion, hot sauce, and garlic sauce on top of the standard menu. By the way, greetings to the Kashmiri brother working there. I recommend the place.

The fries are good, the service is also fast, and the portion is satisfactory, but the prices need to be reviewed. I don't see any difference between these and other restaurants that serve fries, so they're far from being the best fries in Amsterdam.

The potatoes were oily and not good, and they were expensive too; there are places that make them better for half the price. The only downside was that they had too much parmesan cheese.

It differs from those sold in cones due to its unique presentation. Cheese and sauce are extra. Although the portion is smaller than a cone, the price is low. When sauces are added, it reaches the price of a medium cone without sauce. The taste is very good. It's worth trying.

A beautifully decorated chip shop, bathed in smiles and politeness. What can you say about such a small restaurant, yet constantly busy? And why such a low rating, especially since the establishment proudly proclaims itself to be serving "the best fries in Amsterdam"? Because NO. Let's start with the prices. An average portion of fries costs 7 euros. That's astronomical. At that price, you're not ordering potatoes anymore, you're investing in your stock market. How on earth did we get to this point? But fine. Let's assume for a moment that the price justifies the quantity. Well, no. The portion is meager, almost ascetic. A diet fry, served with the arrogance of luxury. Then I paid 12 euros. Yes, 12 euros. Without a drink. Without a fork. With a paltry parmesan topping, tossed in like a tip for the customer. And above all, without sauce. Because the sauce, ladies and gentlemen, costs 2 euros. Let's be clear: I'm not talking about the presentation, nor even the intrinsic quality of the fries. But what's indefensible here is the philosophy. This approach to the world of fries with its almost brazenly dishonest pricing.

I had the chance to eat at House of Fries. To be honest, I only wanted to try the fries: they were delicious. But I think the price is outrageous. It's the same everywhere, but for potatoes that are cut up and then fried in oil, the prices are inflated. Apart from that, the fries are very good, quite flavorful, with a variety of sauces to choose from. We personally asked the staff for recommendations on the sauces, and we weren't disappointed.

The place serves fries right away. For 15 euros, you get a huge amount of fries. We hadn't eaten for hours and couldn't even finish a large tray each. The combinations are great and highly recommended. You can eat your fries standing up or take them to go.

It's very delicious and fresh. I recommend the one with truffle sauce. Another recommendation is to choose the small size for one person. I had a hard time finishing the medium size.

Paid €15 for Parmesan chips with spicy mayo. Delivered me truffle mayo which I despise and when I told them threw a pot of mayo at me. So then had half a portion of mediocre chips, then was called over and tried to be charged extra for the mayo which I politely told them to stick it. Without their stinking attitude the food is so expensive and really mid, fable fries were miles above in the city.

There was nothing fancy about it — the taste was average, and it didn’t justify the price at all. I was expecting something more interesting or at least better value, but it fell short. Overall, not very pleased and probably wouldn’t go back.

This place is always busy. It's located on Damstraat just off Dam Square. Some of the best Fries you can get downtown any time of day. Lots of selections and great taste. This is my new go to fries shop.

The prices are reasonable. The food is decent, tasty but nothing to write home about.

Place is a scam, overcharged ( probably a tourist price) on the receipt clearly charged extra 8 Euros at the end of the bill for x2 portions of Parmesan, despite being already charged 13 Euros for the parmesan fries. Nothing on the menu board stating they would be an extra charge for Parmesan on the Parmesan fries as it was already included in the prize. Approach member of staff behind the till, when questioning the receipt became very aggressive shouting over the top of myself. Clearly and error was made on the receipt and overcharged myself did not want to give me a refund or admit there was a wrong charge on my receipt. Very overpriced for poor quality food anyway therefore would highly NOT recommend going to this place. There are far BETTER OPTIONS ALONG THE SAME STREET, THEREFORE PLEASE CHOOSE CAREFULLY

We stumbled upon House of Fries in Amsterdam on a Sunday when most of the famous fries spots were already closed. We kept it simple and just ordered classic fries with mayo and ketchup. The portion is decent, but honestly, it’s expensive for what you get. Fries come in a bowl rather than a cone or paper cup, which makes walking around a bit awkward. As for taste, the mayo was completely off—nothing like traditional mayo, really unpleasant. The fries themselves were bland, almost completely lacking flavor or seasoning. Even on their own, they tasted like low-quality potatoes. Combined with the mayo, it just made the whole experience disappointing. For the price, it was underwhelming and honestly not worth it.

Portion was quite big 👌🏻 — enough for the five of us to share as a snack 🍟. Taste-wise, it was okay, nothing particularly special. It’s not bad at all, but I probably wouldn’t make a special trip just to get it.

It's fine. The sauce wasn't my favourite but the person I was with enjoyed it. I think we also forgot to grab a stick to eat it - would highly recommend not forgetting to grab one.

Ordered chicken tenders and fries. The fries were pretty good. The chicken however was disgusting. I spit it right out. My husband who eats anything, tried it, spit it right out and didn't even believe it was chicken. Absolutely inedible whatever it is. So if you go here, I would recommend the fries but definitely not the chicken tenders. Something else on the menu may be good and it could have been an off day for them but YUCK

Overpriced French fries. Very expensive for what they are. I ordered a hamburger and it was nothing like that. A soft drink was 3 euros..... I'd save that.

Good fries. To go packaging could be improved upon, but the food is top grade.

I couldn't see much difference in the potatoes as we know them, there was a difference in the sauce flavor in other places I ate. I couldn't notice it much here, the truffle sauce is 2.5 Euros, in my opinion it's too expensive.
