A very simple cafe where you can enjoy a good cup of tea, sit and plan/work on the PC. Delicious cakes and good dishes.

I order via the webshop several times a year. Always delivered quickly and very good quality. I am disappointed that the photos often do not show the exact product. These sometimes differ in shape/size. These are expensive luxury products, and you can expect the photos to be up to date. Possibly Can it also be stated in the description that the photo may differ?

Nice place to drink tea and chat. They have many beautiful teas. They also have tasty desserts, including some options that are gluten-free and some vegan options. In my opinion, highly recommended!

Super delicious matcha and matcha latte with many different types of milk to choose from (four different options without cow's milk). The girls were all super nice and accommodating. Only recommended

🍵Iced matcha drinks tasted really good 💶 We paid €57~ for 3 drinks and 2 waffles + a healthy bowl. 🧇 It took some time to receive the waffles but they were delicious. The syrup wasn’t sweet. It was just enough for brunch/lunch. 🫂The waitresses were friendly. 🛋️The atmosphere is nice, it’s not crowded so many seats are available. However, the seats are not comfy if you’re planning to stay for a while. 🕯️Also I added a request while making my reservation online: for a candle onto one of our desserts due to a bday celebration. They didn’t. I made sure to leave my number and email 📧 and asked if it wasn’t possible they would lmk (which they didn’t do). The girl at the register didn’t check my reservation and told me to sit wherever since there were many spots available.

Such a lovely place 🍵✨ the matcha ice cream is a must along with the cheesecake, affogato if you want to really be surprised 🙂‍↕️ unfortunately the kitchen was closed when we visited but everything we tried was really good!

Very good, nice ingredients, but over 18 euros for a bagel with salmon is simply too expensive. At Bagels & beans almost half price and 80% as tasty 🤷🏼‍♂️ Maybe the cost price is high because there are so many staff around?

I’m a French girl drink matcha always ! I taste this japanese tea shop and I’m really in love with this place. The girls work here are kind and cutee ✨ I came here everyday of my journey and I really enjoy about that !! I taste differents drinks and foods. For the drink I particularly like “iced vanilla matcha latte” and “iced houjicha latte”. For the food, the mochi is very delicious and the waffle with smocked salmon and nori tempura crunch is very excellent too !! Soo I thinks it’s the place to be to drink matcha here 🫶🏼

I ordered matcha online (ceremonial quality). Unfortunately, the matcha is very lumpy and even if you use a sieve you will get lumps in the matcha. Unfortunately not tasty.

The cakes were delicious. Unfortunately my matcha was a bit too watery. The shop is functionally furnished and has a Japanese style feel. My ToGo drink wasn't quite to my liking. It was supposed to be yuzu matcha sencha, it was missing yuzu. It was still drinkable. Service rudimentary, order at the table and pay at the cash register. Price-performance was completely correct. Unfortunately, the kitchen was already closed at 2:30 p.m. The menu said until 3 p.m. Bottom line: solid 3.5 ⭐️ A recommendation but with room for improvement.

The only place where you can get good matcha tea! I tried some other things, but just the tea is fine. The other things were a bit too sweet for me, but I suppose perfect for others.

Nice thing. The food is tasty, and so is the matcha. The salmon sandwich is a bit pricey in my opinion (although it is an original sandwich). The girl behind the bar was very friendly, but the one who served us was less so. Couldn't get a laugh out of it.

Had a High Tea here for the first time and it was more food than we expected. All the dishes were ofcourse Matcha infused and were very delicious. You start with a milk combined matcha drink and preferably end with a regular matcha tea but can switch to a milky drink if you’d like. Milk alternatives are available btw. Very nice place, will return in the future.

We ordered a matcha latte and a hojicha latte. The drinks were very smooth and well-blended, however it would've been nice to have the option of a sweet syrup to go with the drinks as it would've helped balance the tea flavours.

Waited for 40 minutes and they forget us. Still had to pay for the tea.

All the dishes and drinks were so delicious!! The rose matcha latte tasted nice with oat milk, even tasted like my favorite rose cookie! Also the summer special waffle was topped with yogurt, yuzu jam and pomegranate which was the perfect match with the matcha waffle. The waffle was so soft, and the portion was quite big since I was full the entire day :)) I loved the playlist of the music in the cafe, and the vibe was very chill and cozy. Lady of this cafe even helped us to paint the Dutch flag on our faces since we also wanted to have one on our faces. There were tompouche and sjoelen which added more Kingsday festiveness🧡👑

Very cute café! I ordered the iced rose matcha latte which was very nice, had a gentle flavor. The daifukus are also tasty and authentic although a little pricey for the amount you get.

One of the few places in this country which knows how to make quality matcha. This would normally not mean a lot, since most places that sell “matcha” are not good, but Hug The Tea defies all expectations!

Lovely matcha place! With awesome service and lovely creations. The only thing is that you sit on high chairs without back support, but thats the only thing which is might good to know :)

This is a place to slow down and relax a warm and pleasent tea with your friends or family. Everything is delicious and you can see the care they put into it. Definetively one of my favorite spaces to relax and share valuable time in The Hague.

Not exactly the traditional matcha taste. The Hojicha is nice. Drinks were also bit lukewarm. The sweets on the dry side. But the menu has a lot of nice options

Don’t get me wrong, tea tasted great! But we had to wait almost 20 minutes to get our drinks. There was only one server that day for some reason…So I had to deduct a point. Especially for a place that serves drinks to go as well, it is vital that people get served quickly. Server did apologize, but still…haven’t tried the food though.

Favorite place to come and chill in the Hague. Very aesthetic with VERY good matcha food + drinks. Highly recommend for a cute afternoon drink :)

Very sweet and relaxed staff and they serve very nice teas.

This place has become a go to place for me and my bf. We always go for the warm matcha latte & double matcha. After having this matcha I cannot have matcha at other cafe's where you can see that the matcha is not rightly whisked. Whenever I can, I also always go for the matcha cheesecake, it's delicious! Tip: whenever you're ordering your drink do specify whether you want your matcha hot or cold. I didn't do this and can totally understand that the waittress goes with whatever option is most popular.

This place was a joy! The food taste good, the staff were mega friendly, the service was perfect and the whole atmosphere left me wanting to come back next time I visit The Hague! The matcha tea was great for me, taste good and could definitely taste the matcha! My niece had the iced matcha latte which she loved too! Very matchy. The pancakes were very tasty and the variaty of cold and hot matcha drinks was impressive. The stuff super friendly, ambiente minimalistic with japanese flair.

Went in a few minutes after opening and the only person inside was the owner. She was very nice and friendly and even explained a bit about the history of matcha while she prepared my drink. Definitely a place I’d visit again!

Ein sehr schöner kleiner Laden mit Tee Spezialitäten zum Trinken und Kaufen und einer herausragend guten kleinen Speisekarte mit unter anderem sehr leckeren Salaten die absolut zu empfehlen sind Punkt wir waren sehr überrascht haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

This is one of those place where you go to when you want to tret yourself. You can get some excellent matcha based drinks and foods with friendly service. There is limited outside seating but the inside looks fresh with a Scandinavian interior design.

For 6 euros I’d expect way more matcha and better taste. It lacked sweetness but to be fair you would be able to add sweetness, but regardless I wasn’t a big fan of their matcha and for the price I expected more. The macaron was way too sweet as if you bit into sugar. We had to toss both away after a couple of bites and sips.

Wafels zijn heerlijk. De matcha lattes, waar ik eigenlijk voor kwam, vond ik een beetje tegenvallen. Het smaakte vooral erg naar (soja)melk en je kon de matcha amper proeven.

Heerlijke thee en zalige gebakjes in een prachtige omgeving. Dit is echt een fijn adres om even tot rust te komen. Hier kom ik terug.

De matcha pancakes, macarons en matcha latte zijn mijn favoriet. De meiden hebben veel kennis over matcha en blijven zich ook uitbreiden met specialiteiten, mmm! En ook nog eens in een heel leuk straatje, aanrader!

Interior agradable y relajado con un ambiente zen y un personal súper amable. ¡Disfrutamos los lattes y los tés japoneses y pedimos varios platos que hicieron un almuerzo delicioso! La gran ventaja es que todo es casero y, por lo tanto, súper fresco. ¡También es un gran lugar para trabajar e ir a otro lugar si anhelas algo dulce!
