iBoenda in Da Costabuurt

As an Indonesian, I can confidently say that this is the best toko in the neighborhood. Sate ayam is tender and the sauce is not overbearing. Tempe is also cooked correctly and urap as well. One of the best rendang I tasted from the tokos in Amsterdam. Recommended to do take away.

Halal Indonesian restaurant. Had the kleine rames, which comes with rice, two protein and two veges. It’s the best Indonesian restaurant for me in all Amsterdam. The flavour is very authentic. The owner was a very friendly lady and made us feel welcome.

I opted for catering on Christmas 2. I only have one word for it: great! Shahira is very friendly and likes to think about options/possibilities. The food tasted really delicious. You can just taste the hospitality and love. Good service and very reliable.

I had the pleasure of trying Iboenda Indonesian Cuisine in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and it was an exceptional experience! First up, I tried the Gado-Gado, a delightful mix of veggies with peanut sauce. The dish included cabbage, green beans, and eggs, all topped with a rich and thick peanut sauce that provided a wonderful peanut flavor. The vegetables were perfectly boiled, adding a satisfying texture to the dish. Next, I sampled the Nasi Campur, a traditional Indonesian dish. This platter had an assortment of items including rendang and vegetables. The rendang, one of Indonesia's national dishes, was absolutely delicious. Its rich and complex flavors complemented the fried rice perfectly. Overall, Iboenda impressed me with its authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients. If you're in Amsterdam and craving Indonesian cuisine, I highly recommend giving Iboenda a try. It’s a culinary experience that’s worth every bite!

My Indonesian mother sat next to someone that she got chatting to on the train, out of the airport. The woman highly recommended eating at iBoenda as she said the food was the best Indonesian restaurant in the Netherlands in her opinion. Well, this woman was not wrong. It is little paradise in my opinion! You will never get an authentic, traditional and fantastic home cooked cuisine anywhere in the world as good as this restaurant! I’ve eaten in Indonesia too…I’m not exaggerating. They also do take aways and an equivalent to ‘Just Eat’. I ate in the restaurant twice it was that good. I just wanted to try a little bit of everything. It’s like a buffet style counter where you can choose whatever you like, honestly it’s amazing and the restaurant is clean. I am only in Amsterdam for a few days but I guarantee, I will be visiting iBoenda a second and hopefully a third time again before I leave. I hope my mum won’t ever get to read this as she doesn’t use the internet, but as much as I love her Indonesian cooking, this Indonesian restaurant is far better and that is saying something, because I love my mum’s cooking. If you miss Indonesian food, or whether you have never tried it, I absolutely recommend you eat in and get a take away too as you will not be disappointed with the food and price. Seriously, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Thank you to the lady on the train that recommended this restaurant/take away. I will make sure when I next visit Amsterdam, one of the first places to come will be iBoenda. Pity there isn’t an iBoenda in the UK, they’d make an absolute killing!

Vegetarische maaltijd besteld via uber eats. De maaltijd bestond vooral uit hele droge rijst. De tempe en tahoe waren ook zeer droog en de portie groenten was klein en niet smaakvol. Kortom: zeer teleurstellend.

Ordered through Ubereats. Got bami goreng instead of nasi goreng. Also ordered tahoe and tempeh and only got tempeh. It was a bit dry. Mostly sad about the tahoe and nasi. Also, there was a lot of bami and the portions of meat and vegetables was very small :(

Ik had gekozen voor de gado gado. Dit was een waterig lichbruin sapje met tofublokjes , julienne gesneden wortel en paksoi...leek meer op soep. Longtong was ok op wat harde stukjes na. En dan de gebakken banaan...banaan was 1/2 cm dik met een deeglaag van 4 cm...leek een lange oliebol. Helaas want wat had ik daar zin in...

Naar mijn gevoel erg authentiek eten, interieur is netjes en schoon, maar niet super gezellig. Vooral ingericht op afhalen.

Ok, zugegeben, es war meine erste Reistafel - daher kann ich nicht sagen WIE authentisch das Essen war. Ich kann aber sagen, dass es sehr lecker war. Und die ausgesprochen nette und herzliche Bedienung, die das etwas spartanische Ambiente mehr als wett machte, machte einen sehr authentischen Eindruck. Wir hatten zu dritt eine Reistafel für drei - wobei die Augen eindeutig größer waren als der Magen. Es war schlicht nicht zu schaffen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier. Pro Person lagen wir bei ca. 20€. Empfehlung!

Food is delicious and authentic. Place is clean which is the main key feature here for me. You can eat comfortably compared to other eateries. We took kids’ meal for €9 which is big enough portion for an adult. If rice or noodle only, just €5

Authentic Indonesian food. The food taste yummy. Portion is generous. Price is inexpensive. We arrived in Amsterdam on Dec 31, 2022 and we had our dinner box delivered to our hotel in Schipol. The food was still warm when we had it. The mixed rice dinner box (nasi rames bungkus) with beef, chicken, egg, vegetable tasted so delicious. The water was included. The next day, we had lunch and dinner buffet style at the restaurant. It’s a tiny resto for about 35 pax max. The food was so good like always: satay ayam with peanut sauce, tempe Orek, semur daging were so rich. Would surely come back.

We are truly disappointed with the food from iBoenda that we ordered on Ubereats. We ordered a regular rames and a vegetarian rames. -All the dishes are too sweet, which gives the similar taste to everything we can eat -The rice is not properly cooked, in fact, it was pretty hard and raw to chew. I wonder if the restaurant use any rice cooker? That will at least make the rice cooked before being fried. I do hope it is not the usual case -The fried banana is mostly with the dough instead of banana, which tasted like a weird oliebol:( I appreciate the staffs’ hard work. The packaging was good, no leakage in the bag. The delivery was satisfying. Sincerely I hope Indonesian takeaway restaurants can make better authentic Indonesian dishes since Indonesian food should actually be a tasty cuisine culture!

Really delicious and authentic Indonesian food. We hat the Rijstafel for two and it was definitely a big portion. So tasty, so full of flavor. We can recommend eating here!

De passage à Amsterdam j’ai eu la chance de goûter les spécialités de ce merveilleux restaurant. La nourriture est très bonne, l’accueil également. C’était la première fois que je mangeais de la nourriture indonésienne. C’était excellent. Je suis ravie de cette expérience et je vous recommande d’aller manger là bas.

Food are delicious. The restaurant is bright and clean. The staff are kind and friendly. Would recommend this place to Malaysians and Indonesian who missed home cooked meals in Amsterdam. Just take tram no 13 and 17 near Dam Square. There is a mosque nearby this restaurant.

The restaurant offers plenty of choices, and the lady gave us a big portion for every choice, especially the rice. They also have Teh Botol, and original tea brand from Indonesia. On top of that, it’s very cheap. It only cost 10€. Friendly staff, and clean restaurant.

The lady here is very nice and kind! Also, the dishes are tasty and of quite a big portion 😋 they’ve got vegan options as well, so you only need to choose which vegetables you would like to replace with the meats. Highly recommend this place :)

Lekkere authentieke Indonesisch eten

Food is fantastic and worth 5/5. More than enough for 2 people and absolutely tasty. Very spicy so if you’re sensitive this is quite spicy 🌶 One very negative point is the packaging. There are at least 20 different plastic bags and that’s not right.

Tempatnya bersih dan sederhana, pilihan makanan dan snack yang di tawarkan sangat beragam. Kita bisa order rijsttafel seperti nasi atau mie dengan side dishes, atau hanyavside dishes saja per weight. Saya order rendang, tempe kecap, dan pisang goreng untuk take away. Tempe kecap nya enak, tapi rendang nya tidak seperti rendang, dan pisang goreng nya sangat dense, kurang cocok dengan selera saya.
