People are queuing here... A big guy finishing the large kapsalon. For €7.50 you get enough for you and your date. Fresh lettuce and vegetables, bread rolls, and they are generous. A hard-working family whose quality is clearly known in the area. Worth the wait. Five stars for this place.

Ibo’s is the undisputed döner king of Amsterdam North. Well-filled, fairly priced dishes. The only downside is that it is always busy, so there is a long wait. But it is worth it. You cannot sit inside, so it is really takeout or eat-in only. Oh, by the way, why isn't cocktail sauce + garlic the standard at all places? At Ibo’s, at least, it is! Just the way it should be. Very nice people. The kapsalon was a bit disappointing though. I had heard so much about it being THE best kapsalon, but that is absolutely not true. There were few seasonings on the fries, and VERY LITTLE SAUCE, making it very dry. The price is fine: €6.50 for a SMALL (NARROW) kapsalon and €1 more for a large one. We were standing with 3 people; it is SUPER SMALL INSIDE, INCREDIBLY HOT AND BUSY, WHICH MAKES YOU WAIT A VERY LONG TIME.

Waited 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches. That is really unacceptable.

Update: Quality and prices have remained the same despite the popularity and crowds. A hole in the wall, but one where you can possibly find the best kapsalon in Amsterdam for price-quality ratio. They have many options to choose from, but based on viral social media posts, you absolutely must try the kapsalon here first. You can choose between lamb and chicken; I always opt for chicken because it is often a bit juicier, but the lamb certainly didn't taste bad. Additionally, you can choose between regular and large, where the regular here is probably the same size as the large you get elsewhere. However, for 7.50, you definitely want to try a large one. And this one is top-notch, from seasoned fries to good meat, a mountain of fresh salad options, and a tasty mix of sauces. However, there is so much that you could share it or want to take it home. You cannot eat inside, but there is plenty of seating on the small square in front. And due to the popularity, you might have to be patient for a bit, but it is more than worth it. I will definitely be back here.

Waited a long time for 2 sandwiches, one chicken and one veal. Fat dripped out of the veal sandwich and it really smelled like butter. Throwed half away. The chicken sandwich, full of vegetables, but the chicken tasted really disgusting. Went once, never again.

Ibo's has received a lot of positive press in recent years from satisfied influencers who review their food, but it's clear the owners haven't been swayed by all this newfound attention. Prices remain very reasonable for the working class, and the portions are enormously generous. The menu may seem limited to the discerning palate, but all the essential elements of a perfect Turkish restaurant are present. The kapsalon was already a masterpiece for many, but Ibo's creation shows that perfection can still be improved. It's when you put Leonardo DaVinci, Van Gogh, and Rembrandt in a room in imitation to present another masterpiece. Every time I question Ibo's excellence and still dare to try an inferior kapsalon, my heart and tongue quickly yearn for Ibo's cocktail sauce, pickles, and finely chopped meat.

Always busy and always a wait but there's a reason for that. You can walk 30 seconds to the neighbouring kebab place with less waiting but I wouldn't suggest it. Very good kebab meat and generous portions.

Best kapsalon in Amsterdam, very cheap but very delicious. Nothing comes this close in Amsterdam, and quite frankly maybe even the Netherlands. Fortunately for the owner but unfortunately for us, it became very popular and waiting times can sometimes take up almost a whole hour. But it’s definitely worth it.

You're in second place in the newspaper Parool, but you deserve to be number one. When we travel through the Netherlands, we eat a döner or kapsalon just out of curiosity, and no, so far yours is the best. Thanks for that, and I hope you stay for a long time.

Disappointing experience from start to finish My visit to this restaurant was unfortunately very disappointing. First of all, the food was simply not cooked properly. Dishes that should normally be full of flavor arrived half-cooked, making the taste and quality far below expectations. It seemed as if little attention had been paid to the preparation. On top of that, the wait time was extremely long. We had to wait a long time before anyone even noticed us, and then it took even longer for the food to be served. Despite being busy, you should at least expect staff to let you know approximately how long it would take, but that didn't happen. What made it even worse was the staff's attitude. Instead of being friendly or helpful, they came across as curt and disinterested. It made us feel like we were a nuisance rather than welcome. All in all, it was a disappointing experience that I won't be repeating anytime soon. Hopefully, this feedback will be acted upon, because as it stands, it's definitely not recommended.

Everyone was saying they had the best kapsalon in the Netherlands, but honestly... I'd never bothered to go. Until yesterday. And what a decision that was. I drove 100 kilometers — and it was worth every kilometer, every minute, and every drop of gas. The moment you arrive, you see it: crowds, lines, people patiently waiting, because everyone knows what they're there for. Yes, you sometimes have to wait an hour, but believe me... it's the only restaurant where waiting is actually fun, because you know you're about to eat pure perfection. And then the kapsalon itself… BIG. PACKED. TASTY. PERFECTLY BAKED. And all for only €7.50. I've seriously never had such a well-stocked, flavorful, and perfectly balanced kapsalon. Everything is perfect: the meat, the fries, the cheese, the sauce—you can just taste that it's made with love. The owner and staff are just as legendary, by the way. Super friendly, genuinely interested, and because it was my first time and I had come from far away, they even gave me a drink on the house. You rarely find that kind of hospitality anymore. Conclusion: IBO's Döner isn't good… it's exceptional. The hype is real. The quality is rock solid. This is officially the best kapsalon in the Netherlands. I'd drive another 100 km in a heartbeat. I honestly don't know what people see in this place. First of all, there's no atmosphere when you step into the small booth. The couple isn't customer-friendly/unfriendly, and they don't even greet customers when you enter (busy or not, you're supposed to see and welcome your customers). The man tends to stand with his back to the customers, which comes across as very unprofessional and indicates a closed attitude. The woman's nonverbal expression is as if she's seen death; she makes brief eye contact, but greeting them is apparently very difficult. The couple is constantly chattering to each other in Turkish, which also comes across as unprofessional and makes the customer feel unwelcome. There's no smile, either. Furthermore, the food is truly unremarkable; the meat has little flavor and is completely drenched in various sauces. It's more like a döner sandwich than a döner sandwich. Not a flavor explosion at all. The people in the reviews who say it's delicious here clearly don't know what real döner is and have absolutely no knowledge of döner. If you really want to experience a taste explosion you should definitely go to the East at the Dappermarkt!

We went to Ibo's this week to get dinner for five people. The food was excellent, and the kapsalon was fantastic! But be prepared to wait; it was so busy that at one point they stopped taking orders. But it was worth the wait. You could easily call a large kapsalon incredibly large, and it's definitely not expensive. It's a great place!

Normally I am always a fan of this hair salon and recommend it to others, but my last experience was disappointing. Unfortunately, when I picked up my hair salon, the fries were not fresh and tough, which I am not used to from this place. When I reported this, I was met with no understanding, but was immediately pressured with terms such as 'well done', which was essentially a way of selling old fries as 'new'. In addition, another customer, who was apparently friends with the staff, started turning on me and saying that their fries were always good, which made the situation even more awkward. Luckily I got my money back, but I really didn't feel treated well in the store and was almost made to feel like I was being harassed. This is a shame, especially since I normally always had so much praise for their food. I hope they handle customer feedback better in the future and don't try to ridicule or pressure them.

Normaal ben ik altijd een fan van deze kapsalon en raad ik het aan bij anderen, maar mijn laatste ervaring was teleurstellend. Toen ik mijn kapsalon ophaalde, was de patat helaas niet vers en taai, wat ik niet gewend ben van deze zaak. Toen ik dit meldde, kreeg ik geen begrip, maar werd ik meteen onder druk gezet door termen zoals ‘doorbakken’, wat in feite een manier was om oude patat als ‘nieuw’ te verkopen. Daarnaast begon een andere klant, die blijkbaar bevriend was met het personeel, zich tegen me te keren en te zeggen dat hun patat altijd goed was, wat de situatie nog ongemakkelijker maakte. Gelukkig kreeg ik mijn geld terug, maar ik voelde me in de winkel echt niet goed behandeld en werd bijna het gevoel gegeven dat ik me aanstelde. Dit is jammer, vooral omdat ik normaal altijd zoveel lof had voor hun eten. Ik hoop dat ze in de toekomst beter omgaan met feedback van klanten en niet proberen om hen belachelijk te maken of onder druk te zetten.

Ibo top guy food is very good for the money you pay. People who complain here in the review need to go to hell. If you are looking for for a good doner that is delicious in a a good price you found the place. The lamb doner menu is my girlfriend and I dinner once a week. It comes with a drink of your choice and fried potatoes. The service is kind, and family like. They do jokes with the costumers who wait for their order and give a good feeling.

Cheap and tasty for these times!

It takes always a long time to get the food ready, doesn't matter what you order or if it's busy.... it's a small space only for take away. Parking is on the street, so you are lucky if you can park. Food is good tho, they do put a different sauce together with sambal en garlic saice.
