What a shame. Been there 3 times since the takeover but what an unhygienic place this has become; windows, ice cream display cases, the floor inside, outside, under the benches, nothing is clean. And that's 3 times not from one day because it's busy, or from children's hands and such. Just not clean.

Finally, an ice cream place that sells good quality ice cream at reasonable prices. They have one option of sugar free ice-cream, ideal for babies or toddlers (one euro for a kinderijse). There are indoor and outdoor sitting possibilities.

The place is messy and confusing, the employees are rude. You have a cross-eyed lady working there, I think she has trouble looking at the taste of the ice cream she scoops, because she can't do that. 2 point nose working there, big mouth of them

I came here at ijs koud de beste noord and unfortunately I have to admit that they are very stingy!! I got a scoop of ice cream but it looked like butter was spread on a slice of bread. And when I asked if this was normal I got a very arrogant answer with that it is their "normal scoop!" Very rude and not worth coming here.

I came here and it felt like I was not welcome! Very arrogant girls behind the counter and it seems like they don't feel like working. I ordered ice cream and what I got is comparable to spreading butter. When I asked if this was normal I got a rude answer and the girl felt insulted. Very unfortunate, not worth the money.

From ice cold the best to ice cold scammers. I came here for years for the ice cream because it is delicious. It was never cheap but the price quality/quality was still reasonable in proportion. But... Now you pay 2 euros for the smallest scoop ever. I bought half a liter of ice cream for over 12 euros. When I got home it turned out to be less than 200ml. It is the last time for me.

Great ice cream, plenty of choice, was busy but quickly served. There is flow in this business. Service and friendly service. Gem in the North if I say so myself.

I had the Dubai chocolate brownie, honestly it was a bit dry. But with a little warm milk poured over it it is delicious again ;)

Waffle is with chocolate sauce from the supermarket, the waffle they sell I also make at home for €1 makes no sense they even have Nutella for the waffles and when you order they cancel your order 9 times out of 10 makes no sense at all

Pricey for small balls but tasty

Two women came up to me repeatedly as I just sat quietly and listened to music. I ordered a matcha, but the terrace was very unhygienic: it stank there, and I saw one of the women pick her nose without washing her hands. Then she put ice cubes in my drink without gloves. When I said something about this, they became threatening. They said they would call the police if I didn't leave. Their behavior was not only rude and intimidating, but also clearly racist, both towards me and other dark-skinned people who were there.

Really disappointing experience. I ordered a matcha that literally tasted like nothing and also looked very light green, not at all what you expect from 'expensive quality'. And the strawberry syrup was actually jam from the supermarket. The sign said €5.50, but suddenly I had to pay €7 because I had chosen a different milk. Nowhere was it stated that this would cost extra, really misleading. Then the 'Dubai Strawberry'… €11.50 for what? A few strawberries with a big dollop of Nutella (yes, it wasn't even diluted chocolate sauce, just plain Nutella). Way too heavy and really not worth the money. Finally, the employee was not friendly at all, a disinterested attitude as if she was doing me a favor by helping me. No atmosphere, no service. Definitely don't come back here. And just to be clear, it was the salon in the north

The staff are very Bad and not customer friendly. They are only after money. You order something if it is not good. You cannot exchange it or get your money back or anything else. Greedy people and pushy. Last time and never again. Be warned people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the evening at 10.45 pm we had a delicious ice cream. Wonderful after a hot day. It's nice that the salon is still open so late. The choice of flavors is really large and there is something for everyone to like. So people, for a cold treat, go to IJskoud de Beste.

Too bad your tent is not female-friendly. There are more men in line for matcha than women. The men also hang out in front of the door, making it uncomfortable for women to enter. Furthermore, the food is fine, but to go there without flirting around you is impossible.

Dirty business. Dirty display cases. Very small balls. Two ice creams; cone with two scoops and bowl with two scoops (1 with whipped cream) were 8.70 (!!!!). Ice cream was tasty. Friendly service. This used to be a great, clean place. Shame :(.

My little sister (8 years old) orderd a ice cream she sat down after receiving it thinking that I would get the change the woman asked me is this your I said no because I thought my little sister had the change and then we realised she never got her change ( she saved a lot of money I’m not talking about €2 or €5) and then we went back it was a very busy day so we went to the side and my sister explained that she never got her change and then they started that it’s not true and i don’t know I think they thought that we said they stole from us and they yelled and said it’s very busy and told us to get out (I typed this is English so that everyone can understand me ) the people who owned this ice cream shop before we’re much nicer ! The Dubai chocolate trend is crazy, try it with ice cream!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I just went by and it was so gross. The Dubai strawberries were full of nutella instead of pistachio. Never again. And their matcha tastes like lemon water, I stay at my regular location in East Amsterdam, everything there is delicious.

Very disappointing service! I placed an order online for pickup, but when my husband came to pick up the order, he was simply informed that the order had been canceled. The lady behind the counter responded completely nonchalantly and then walked away without further explanation. This is absolutely no way to deal with customers. A real disappointment. We won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Save your money and don't get your matcha here. Unfortunately it was just milk with vanilla syrup. Had super high expectations for almost 8 euros. Lots of ice cubes. It was also really stingy light green while they use the Yoisho brand?

Today was the first and last time. I understand when the store is busy and that the staff can become stressed, but telling a customer to "get out of the store" is an excuse? Are you right? I was standing at the ice cream parlor with my family. We were first helped nicely by a young lady. Suddenly another lady comes and asks me in a rude manner if I can continue walking. I was like, it's my turn and I want to see what flavor I want. She started repeating while shouting in between all those people. At first I looked at her very surprised and she looked very aggressively at me. What are you getting involved with and how can I continue if I haven't chosen the flavor yet??? Then she said I can go out. Girl, I don't know your name, but my advice to you: if you can't handle the hustle and bustle, quit your job. You are certainly not customer friendly. Thanks to the customers, you earn your money. Don't forget that and change your behavior. You almost wanted to hit me. What idiotic behavior!! Just embarrassing a customer in front of all those people. Are you right??

Terribly dirty. Since the salon was taken over they have been unsanitary. We just found hairs in the ice. I ordered home delivery and something went wrong. 2 tubs of ice cream with the wrong flavor. They just took this back!!! How dirty is that. We were not allowed to keep the wrong order and were only asked if we wanted a new one. We weren't even compensated!!! Terrible as a regular customer I have to puke 24 scoops of ice cream that they took back will just sell them to someone else 🤢🤮 You didn't discuss anything with me on the phone! There was definitely a hair in there. In any case, you should be ashamed that you sold the ice cream and that they weren't even allowed to keep the other container after opening it...

Delicious ice cream and reasonably priced

Almost all of their products are halal and delicious. I got the hazelnut flavor and really liked it. I have no complaints about the taste, but unfortunately, I do have an issue with the portion sizes. It was the smallest scoop of ice cream I have ever seen. While one scoop is usually enough at other places, even two scoops here felt insufficient. There is outdoor seating, but it's a bit messy and neglected. Inside, the space is very cramped, so it's more suitable for takeaways. There's a park in front, and sitting on the grass seems like the best option. It's self-service, and there is usually a long line. I waited as well. We were greeted with a smile, and I didn't want to overlook that. My experience wasn't great, but if they increase the portion size of the ice cream, it could be a place I would visit again.

I bought an ice cream cone for my little daughter, which cost 1.95 euros. I said I would pay by card. The lady asked if it was Visa or MasterCard. I said Visa. Then she asked if I had any cash. I said I didn't. She said fine, then entered 2.95 into the card terminal without saying anything and just held it out to me. The cash register showed 1.95. I asked why she entered 2.95, to which she replied, "Because it's Visa." I didn't know what to say, so I just let it go. I don't think this is fair.

My experience at IJs Koude Beste was disappointing. the staff didn't seem interested. Hygiene left much to be desired, with sticky tables and dirt on the floor. In short, not recommended for me

Delicious ice cream! Lots of different flavors and very friendly employees. There is plenty of seating outside. The ice cream parlor is also located next to the Noorderpark, so you can also enjoy your ice cream while walking!

Went for ice-cream after a nice day in the park. The ice-cream itself was fine, however the cashier said they did not take any type of card (not indicated anywhere), didn't let us the option to get cash nearby and then went ahead and took the card charging us 2 euros extra (without asking). Do not recommend.

I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN. The staff was disrespectful, paid 8 euros for 2 people, 1 ice cream pp. Furthermore, the taste was not special. I'd rather drive a bit further and go to Waterlandplein, their ice cream is tasty and affordable. and the employees are sweet and helpful (ice practice).

Update 2024 - bulbs are a bit larger, taste less. Do what you want with it. Would still like to take the ferry and get a good ice cream in the city for the same price. ‐----- Good ice cream but no more than that. Balls on the small side. Quite expensive, 3.80 for 2 scoops. Unfortunately, North does not yet have a good ice cream parlor.

Ice Cold the WORST!!! Paid €17.25 for a container with 8 balls. I can't help but cry, what a VERY pathetic little bulb for these high prices. I used to love coming here, but NEVER again. Be warned you will be 100% disappointed. I see that the owner responded to these types of reviews (months ago) that something is being done about it, but today March 10, 2024 I received the most pathetic bowl of ice cream ever. I can't get over how overpriced this is. In Oud Zuid they are less stingy. Go shame yourself….. (In response to the owner: the fact that you even send this out for €17.25 is reason enough not to contact us, what a rip-off)

We ate super tasty ice creams; the kids were happy. The location is truly brilliant: a terrace next to a lawn with a playground a few meters away. The service was fast and attentive. Also toys for the little ones inside; recommended!

The best ice cream in Amsterdam!

Despite inflationary prices, going here is always a treat for the children, parents and others. The ice cream is delicious (dairy-free and gluten-free also available) and the sisters are hardworking ladies! Quite a long line of stampede in the summer. But for children there is a lovely little play corner and they receive a coloring page that, when handed in, will result in a free ice cream for the next visit! For those who can afford it every week or just as a treat every now and then. Strawberry Sorbets, coffee etc also available!

Als de meeste mensen klagen over dat je bollen ijs echt te klein zijn geworden voor het geld , dan moet je dat misschien toch aannemen en daar iets aan doen. En excuus alles is duurder geworden,ja je bent ook al duurder geworden dus dan hoef je niet ook nog is de helft te geven van wat je vroeger kreeg. Smaak is verder prima
