I went to Van der Linde for the first time today. I'd heard a lot of good things about the ice cream and pastries, so I was really curious. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed. The quality is good, but you really have to like whipped cream. The ice cream has a nice texture but tastes very much like whipped cream. The marrowbone is also filled with only whipped cream. I prefer the truffles, because they also have a layer of chocolate around them, but otherwise, I find it all way too rich. I think the prices are great. If you like whipped cream, I would definitely stop by, but I would prefer a wider variety of flavors.

I went there about three years ago and twice in the past month, and the ice cream is and remains truly amazing, even though they only have one kind. But that's precisely what makes the shop and their ice cream so special. If you don't feel like waiting in line, you shouldn't go here. The ice cream is definitely worth it for me. The staff is also very friendly, although I understand that the staff sometimes get tired after a day of standing in a small ice cream parlor, scooping ice cream all day long, so I don't blame them for being a bit uninformed and coming across as a bit unfriendly. There are no seats, but that's not a problem for me. I just get my ice cream and then walk with it or stand somewhere. It's perfectly manageable! You pay with cash. Those who prefer to pay by card should probably skip this ice cream parlor, although I wouldn't miss this ice cream for a cent the next time I'm in the area :). All in all, a fantastic ice cream parlor with the best ice cream in Amsterdam! Definitely recommended!

The shop sells limited sweets and vanilla ice cream, which is their most popular. The shop is very small and only serves takeout orders. There is no indoor or outdoor seating. The owner is the one who sells and he wasn't welcoming. I was taking pictures inside the shop, so he asked me not to take them and said it's forbidden... even though there are pictures of the place on Google!! My order was: Vanilla ice cream with biscuits, very small and average, with a strong creamy taste and a lot of sugar, so I didn't like it. I will never go back because its taste is average or less than average. I don't recommend it and I'm surprised by those who promote it as the best ice cream in the world 🤔.

Just follow the left wall and head straight inside, as the ice cream stand is at the back. Note that they only accept cash, and the shop's opening hours are arbitrary. Currently, they only have fixed hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; other days depend on the shop's mood. If you happen to pass by in the morning, check the sign on the door to tell you when it's open or if it's closed.

The marrowbones are incredibly delicious, but you don't need to go to this shop for them. They're also available at the Plus in Banne. Parking isn't nearby or free. The ice cream is exactly the same as the sausage ice cream you can buy at the supermarket. They don't have much else, just a simple cake.

Staff is so random (probably family members). I’ve been there 3 times. It’s funny they don’t accept credit cards. I asked in a cup and girl spilled it on the sides of the cup while putting the ice cream in. She tried to give me the cup like that, which was clearly gonna make my hands dirty. I asked if she could give me some napkins, she said they don’t have? I asked if she can put another cup so I am not gonna touch ice cream and she said it’s 0.25 euros and only cash. I didn’t have any more cash on me and my friend was waiting outside. I got the cup as it is and it was a bad experience. Funny they can’t fix the issue they created themselves. No napkins, no other cup for free. Clean the cup then! I had to find a bathroom to wash my hands after. For sure the girl can’t understand because they never wash their hands huh? Go eat your ice cream from mc donald’s. Same thing. Also this place doesn’t seem clean at all.

The shop was great they had a manager named Dutch he served me and told me I needed to pay in a strange way, he said something like "we need money" and stuff also he couldn't stop talking about friendly ship captains going for Australia or tahiti, he was a great planner and helped me with my tourist location, great place.

A hidden gem in the city center of Amsterdam. This place has been around for a lifetime (arguably several lifetimes) and despite the huge crowds it now attracts, maintains a sense of nostalgia and harmony. The queue you now often find may look daunting at first, but this place works very quick and efficiently. Their pricing is top notch, that is to say, you will not find cheaper delicacies in all of Amsterdam. A big cone of ice cream for 1,90, a mergpijpje (traditional Dutch marzipan and cream delicacy) for 1,40 and a bag of chocolate and cream truffles for 2,50 - truly extraordinary. I would give it more stars if I could. One side note, it's cash only. Then again, all you need is spare change.

It's a mix of whipped cream and plain ice-cream. I personally liked it. They only accept cash. All the signs are in Dutch only - they have other items than ice-cream but I couldn't figure out what they are - they have a "menu table" with icons only, so you don't even know what the items are. We and our gang enjoyed the ice cream very much! it was very delicious. But they didn’t have Mango flavored ice cream for my little boy Arthur. We are planning to go to Tahiti for our vacation, but the Pinkertons came to our house and this is our last time getting ice cream because you ratted on us. We had a difficult time getting here because the Pinkertons followed us, they wanted to get ice cream too. Then we had a great time and we ate ice cream all together without any weapons. There are also small desserts other than ice cream, but I couldn't ask what it contains because the owner is very surly. You can ask for ice cream in a cone or with a waffle. I think the price-performance was not good. They should learn how to treat tourists well and hygiene conditions immediately. Owner didn't give a receipt even though he took the money in cash.

In 1937 Gerrit van der Linde opened the doors on the Nieuwendijk and the company has never left or closed. The business is still in the hands of the family and when the weather is nice there is always a line. The Slagroomijs is delicious and special at the same time and is known all over the world.... I still find it a disadvantage that you can only pay in cash. That is why no 5 stars, because you have to move with the times!
