IJver is the place to be if you're looking for delicious food, a good beer, and/or a casual drink. It's also the perfect place to host a book launch in one of our dedicated rooms (or two)! We were particularly impressed with all the facilities, the affordability, and the super friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended!

Beautiful restaurant with amazing bites and a welcoming atmosphere. The truffle garlic fries were to die for and the bitterballen with the mustard mayo sauce hit the spot perfectly!!

What a lovely spot! This lovely spot is located right across the water on the old NDSM IJ harbor. What a great place to have a drink and relax. You'll be amazed by the lovely, pleasant atmosphere. The relaxed service, the freedom to sit where you want, and the lack of frequent interruptions are a great asset. The old hall has been transformed into a modern dining and drinking establishment. We had a wonderful Friday afternoon drink here, catching up and enjoying a pleasant evening. So, we settled in and then went for a bite to eat further down the road. That was a shame, because the food here is also delicious. Unfortunately, they were fully booked, otherwise we would have stayed. I highly recommend making a reservation. We will definitely be back to enjoy the rest of the food. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They work hard and are eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

A small restaurant just the way we like them! No frills, just a warm and friendly atmosphere, simple and tasty dishes, and efficient service. You feel good there, you eat well, and you leave happy.

The food was good but nothing special. I had chicken, which is all I got with a little bit of custard. Few vegetables and no fries. Could have been a bit more. The chicken and gravy were tasty.

We went for a staff party. We used a space above the restaurant. Delicious food and friendly staff. The space is atmospheric. I would go back for a private meal. Ample parking right outside. Like almost all of Amsterdam, parking is paid. But not too expensive, at €1.66 per hour, and until 7:00 PM.

Great place! The food was delicious, and the service was clearly there because they had to make money. Besides the fact that it took a very long time, they mostly ignored us and spent more time chatting at the bottom of the stairs than checking on us for drinks. It's a shame, but an extra compliment to the chef: thanks to him or her, our dinner still earned a 4-star rating.

IJver is such a cool and cozy spot in Amsterdam Noord! 🌟 The place itself is beautiful — warm, inviting, and with a great vibe whether you’re just stopping for a drink or staying for a full meal. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and want to hang out for a while. The food is good: I’ve tried the burger (approved 👍), the croquettes, and the pastrami sandwich. The burger and croquettes were great, but the pastrami sandwich had a bit too many toppings for my taste — still tasty, just a bit overloaded. It’s an amazing spot for drinks with friends, and the atmosphere is relaxed but lively at the same time. Being in Noord gives it an extra cool vibe — a perfect stop if you’re exploring the area or want to get away from the busy city center. Definitely worth checking out if you want a cozy, stylish place with good food and a great vibe

nice place, but overpriced food

We went here for a company dinner. I'd never been before and was really pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, but also by the food and service. A great menu and a wide variety of beers and drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Delicious food and very nice service!

Waited 10 minutes or more for a second beer at the bar because of an "empty keg." Once I got back outside, he was there within a minute of me sitting down. Classic... I suspect more staff or better pay might help. It's a shame for such a prime location, though. Greetings from a squeamish student.

After the Tattoo convention we came for drinks, they also have a photobooth!!! So we of course had to take some photos! Nice selection of cocktails!

I organized a dinner here for 100 people with my work. Even though it was difficult for me to clarify all the allergies in advance, they were very flexible on the day itself. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and it's always a pleasant place to be.

We had a delicious meal on the pleasant terrace: the Caesar salad was excellent and served well as a main course. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Whenever I'm in Amsterdam, I always go there. I always get coffee and cake, because I'm usually there in the afternoon, so I haven't tried any other dishes besides this one. But who knows, maybe I'll have breakfast there soon.

Super fun and relaxed place. We were there during the flea market at the IJhallen. Delicious food, a friendly welcome at the entrance, and fast and courteous service.

This café has a great atmosphere. The prices are a bit higher, but the location is worth it.

What a terrible bunch of tourists! I moved to the north to avoid the hassle, but now they're apparently flocking across the IJ to this place. It's also a shame that the service here is also completely lacking. Besides not speaking Dutch anymore, they were simply too busy with themselves and each other. Ordering drinks was difficult, and we were reluctantly allowed to look at the menu for some food. When it was finished, they didn't even bother to ask if we enjoyed it or if we'd like to see the coffee or dessert menu. They do have steak on the menu, but they can't prepare it properly, so the menu says they only do it medium. I ordered that, but apparently that didn't work either; it was very well done. Really tough, and the garnishes were boring, and fries, at almost 30 euros, can't even be included; you have to order them separately. Dessert was also a thing of the past. By the way, we didn't mix in the waitress's shade while her colleague directed us there. Half the terrace turned out to be closed off, but 5 minutes later other people were allowed to sit there. I was done with it too; what a terrible place, never again! ----Update after the IJver team's response---- Thanks for your response. I'm not looking for special treatment. I'll come back again, but without prior notice, to see if it's better. If so, I'll adjust my review or give a positive review.

Walked in because it looks interesting from the outside. Im glad we decided to try. The moment we walked in we were greeted very nicely from the bouncer outside to the host and waiter that took our order. Food was good we ordered the burger and fish,tried the pineapple creme brûlée and 3different beer recommended by the waiter and it was good. I think there were a dance event inside there was a lot of people dancing. We sat on the outer part but enjoyed the music very much. The place is huge and has high ceiling. I would come back again if im in amsterdam ndsm area

My favorite at NDSM. Always fun and great staff. Man, what friendliness and delicious nachos. I recommend it often.

IJver is located in a large hall at the NSDM shipyard, where I'm greeted enthusiastically by two gentlemen. The restaurant is divided into several sections: the bar and the restaurant area at the back. There's also an upper floor where a reception is currently underway. It's pleasantly busy, with many groups of people, and the atmosphere is relaxed and cheerful. The staff are also enthusiastic, friendly, and helpful. The menu is varied and the portions generous. When we were offered a beef carpaccio with grated cheese, they immediately swapped it because my girlfriend has a cow's milk allergy, which was very helpful. All the other dishes were also delicious: the roasted cauliflower with tahini, yellow curry coconut soup, sweet potato fries, and Caesar salad. The dessert, the tartelette, is a lovely way to end the meal. A lovely place, highly recommended!

Amazing food and great vibes! The chicken ( COQ ALA BIER) was juicy, the burger (IJVER BURGER) was delicious, everything fresh and tasty. Affordable prices too – definitely recommend!

Of all the restaurants I visited in Amsterdam Noord, IJver stands out as the one with the most well-executed food. The dishes are consistent, flavorful, and carefully prepared, combining creativity with solid technique. The atmosphere is modern and lively, with the unique industrial vibe of NDSM adding character to the experience. A must-try if you’re looking for both good food and a great location.

Great place, fabulous setting in the old industrial ship building factory. I had the Rendang sandwich, girlfriend had the soup. Both were great. Big selection of beers, from Heineken to craft beer. Strong recommendation

Good Food and drinks in a Former Ship Yard. Lots of art, creative lofts, Design Shops, cultural venus, street art around.

I usually have beer here with friends, which is always quick and good. Today I got a spicy chicken pita (because of Sail) and it was again quick and incredibly delicious.

I really liked it! I particularly liked the vibe - big open airy space with cool murals, kind of a modern industrial vibe, plenty of beer options. Very nice aesthetic without being over the top. I had the burger with pulled pork (I asked for ketchup instead of chipotle sauce). It was really delicious. Maybe slightly too filling, I couldn’t finish the fries which were also delicious. The bitterballen were just a bit too mushy for my taste but the flavor was great. It was reasonably priced, especially for the area. It was super easy to get seated. The service was extremely quick and friendly - basically you just sit wherever you want and someone comes over to you within a few minutes. Actually some of the fastest service I’ve had in Amsterdam although I will say that it wasn’t particularly full - we went for lunch around 1 PM.

This place is located in the NDSN area and is a great place to get away from the usual Amsterdam culture. - Cool, industrial atmosphere, full of landmarks. - Excellent food and drinks. - Fair prices. - Service could be improved a bit, but it's ok. We would definitely go back to this place.

Beautiful, modern place with plenty of space both inside and out! Friendly and fast. The best pastrami sandwich I've ever had!!!

Located directly next to Europe's largest flea market, it's a popular spot, and the atmosphere is very urban and interesting. The food reflects the spirit of the times and is overpriced. The portions are barely filling, and the traditional fried dishes are barely edible. Those who aren't particularly hungry and want a taste of the big city will still have a good time.

Very nice address in this rather alternative place in the Noor district of Amsterdam. Right next to the street art museum which is worth a look if only from the outside and accessible by ferry from the central station. Fairly limited menu but with varied offers. Excellent burger as well as the vegan dish. Possibilities of dishes of different sizes depending on appetites. Extensive drinks menu including an interesting selection of non-alcoholic beers. Very pleasant outdoor space and super nice interior decor!

Great place in a nice wild area

Lovely evening on the terrace! The service was friendly and attentive, which is almost a rarity these days in Amsterdam. A bottle of tap water was also provided alongside our bottle of wine, which was great! The food was also excellent; the eggplant dish is highly recommended!

Very good restaurant ! You can taste holland's specialities like the vegan bitterballen which are excellent, and other delicious meals. The staff is very nice, and the service is fast. The place is very cool, with a pleasant outside sitting area, with a view on the graffitis of the NDSM neighbourhood. I recommend !

The four of us enjoyed a lovely meal al fresco at IJver. We opted for the IJver burger, IJver bowl, Caesar salad, and Hariri eggplant instead of an appetizer—sometimes the appetite is bigger than the stomach. All dishes were delicious and well-presented, with generous portions. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée and tartalet, both very successful. The service was attentive, fast, and polite. A lovely place to linger over a meal.

If you like industrial architecture, you should definitely visit this place!

We highly recommend this place/IJver. It has a special atmosphere. Beautiful indoor and outdoor areas. The staff were all super friendly. The drinks (homemade lemonade) and food were good, but very expensive...a 500ml Heineken for €7.60... I would still recommend the place.

A superb discovery! 🇬🇧 We arrived from the other side by boat and stopped by bike near some street art. That's where we found this restaurant. There were four of us, and we paid €60 for 1 sandwich and 1 fries x4 + mozzarella sticks with a second carafe of water. The online ordering system is very convenient; it allows you to take your time, translate the dishes, and make careful choices. The food was exceptional, with incredible flavors, and the sauces... absolutely magical (especially the "sweet chili" sauce on the cheese sticks)! Special mention to the waiters, adorable and very pleasant, who even spoke French with us. A real favorite, we highly recommend it!

We had a delicious meal at IJver! We started with the "vlammetjes" (small flames) and the crispy chicken, and for mains, we had the burger and the ribeye. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse. Highly recommended!

A really cool spot in the NDSM building, with a lovely indoor section, a section in the NDSM hall, and an outdoor terrace. Huge beer selection, 20 on tap, and a large DIY refrigerator wall. And a delicious lunch.

Unique place, lovely terrace and delicious food

Amazing selection of artisan beer. We sat inside and got good service from the staff. Biterballen was really good, and the rest of the food looked delicious and fresh. We got there at 5.30pm and left around 8.30pm when it started to get busier. A short walk from the NDSM ferry and great place to chill in a spacious setting.

The venue has a great vibe, the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Everything ran smoothly, and the atmosphere was perfect for our team to relax and connect. Great place! But there was one thing I found really annoying: Yesterday was the monthly market at the IJ-hallen. My girlfriend and I stopped for a coffee to shelter from the rain. Logically, these events often attract a lot of women, and that was reflected in the restaurant. When I went to the restroom, I noticed the long line for the women (not unusual), but the men's section was completely empty. One woman tried to go in there, and she was confronted by an extremely unfriendly restroom attendant. It was really annoying. She doesn't seem to follow the rules, so maybe she can't do anything about it, but the men's restroom is empty. There are only women in line, so let them go to the men's restroom and stop being so difficult. I thought it was pretty sad, so please do something different and be a bit human. Hence the bad review, unfortunately. (The restaurant staff were otherwise super friendly.)

Best place at NDSM. Small menu but superb quality. Service and staff were fantastic. We went there with our family: 14-year-old twins and an 18-year-old son. Highly recommended for older children. Families with young children won't find much to do here.

Very cool location. Old factory style converted into art space and this resto. We ordered 3 burgers and 1 main chicken. All food was fantastic. We ordered burgers Medium Rare. Huge bite, took a while to finish which is a great sign. The music was hilariously old school bistro Louis Armstrong. In that setting, felt like a scene from WALL-E. Much recommended.

IJver is a busy restaurant with quite high prices. It is always busy. A fantastic terrace in front of the door where it is packed when the weather is nice. Located on the beautiful NDSM site in Amsterdam-Noord (ships used to be built and maintained here). Fantastic location.

On June 21st I started my birthday celebration at IJver. Because we were a group of 50 people I emailed a few weeks in advance about the possibilities etc. The communication was very nice, every time a very quick response and so flexible regarding the arrangements for food and drinks. On the day itself the part in the bar was reserved for us. When we decided to have drinks outside this was no problem and was ready in no time. Very nice and professional service and because of all this the perfect start to my celebration!

The servers are incredibly kind and caring, place has an amazing vibe and the food... I was craving a burger, but was not expecting such a perfect one. I can't get over it!
