Il Pranzo in Binnenstad

We had a couple of pasta dishes and the tiramisu. Everything was great! And the smell from the kitchen that is right next to the tables is so appetizing! Lovely cozy atmosphere as well. We will definitely be going back! Really one of the best local restaurants I've tried - and great value for money too.

The food was delicious and the value for money was excellent. We'll be back! Reservations are recommended, as there are only five tables available.

Nice little restaurant with very tasty food!

Very good food, we would love to come back here. Variety of starters, then sea bass or pizza with gorgonzola, parma ham and walnuts, dessert was chocolate cake with salted caramel sauce and ice cream. For us there is more than enough choice of Italian and French dishes.

Toevallig deze parel ontdekt. Heerlijk en eerlijk. Bescheiden kok die alles in zijn eentje fixt. Van ontvangst tot bediening tot koken. Super gegeten. Toevallig nog 1 tafeltje voor 2, wat een geluk. Heerlijke lamsbout, prima wijn, ongevraagd tafelwagen en een onovertroffen goede espresso met ook nog een heerlijke bonbon. Als randstedelingen zijn wij verbaasd over de geweldige prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Bovengemiddeld goed.

We thoroughly enjoyed an evening at Il Pranzo! The small restaurant with only a few tables creates a very cozy atmosphere and you really get the feeling that you are dining abroad. I really liked the images you see from the Disney film Ratatouille (if you are familiar with it)! You can see that the chef puts a lot of energy and passion into making his dishes! Delicious food, for a very good price. A nice addition to Middelburg! I definitely recommend Il Pranzo!

Smallest restaurant I ever visited (4 tables) but wow what a terrific food experience. We had the autumn risotto and tiramisu. Both perfect. Will visit this one man show again 🤩

I have been in Il Pranzo on Aug. 11th 2023. Very small, cosy restaurant with just 7 tables. Great food, nice waiter, great cook. By the way - these two are one person, so the owner cooks the meals and serves them himself. What I really love is that the meals for my wife and me came the same time. This should be, but is not, normal in other restaurants. I will definetly recommend this place to my friends and if I come to Middleburg again i will for sure visit Il Pranzo again! Highly recommended!!

Simply delicious. A cozy little restaurant as we like them... with "homemade" cuisine. A top address.

Unfortunately there is a very low guest capacity, which is why a reservation is strongly recommended. However, the pizzas seem to be really, really good!

Simply delicious! One of the best pizzas I've eaten. Not overloaded with ingredients, but a few delicious, well-chosen ingredients that go together very well. The pasta was also very tasty. And on top of all those goodies, the price is very reasonable! Highly recommended.

Heerlijk gegeten. Geen ingewikkelde poespas maar eerlijk eten met veel smaak. Alles huisgemaakt door de eigenaar, een vriendelijke en bescheiden Fransman die duidelijk passie heeft voor koken. Klein sfeervol zaakje met maar 6 tafeltjes, dus reserveren is handig. We komen zeker terug!

Delicious fresh food.. Don't expect a chat with the waiters, the chef is on his own to cook and serve. But that works out great for him. The prices are excellent (low) So don't complain as I read below that you have to pay 75 cents for extra! bread really sad.

scrivere in italiano.... better in English. I forgot to write..it was one of our last vacation days. Il pranzo, restaurant. Yes, it is small and beautiful. And before anyone asks: I don't know if we can come with a dog? (Because our dog, a Bergamsco, wobbling with our daughter to the beachclub). Ok the food was good and not really expensive because we are by the sea. The service was friendly. The taste was Italian with a little Dutch touch. The drinks were good. All in all good. Ah yes, and in according (.... I must to explain it as an Italian) "The Aceto Balsamico di Modena Tradizionale" (not to be confused with balsamic vinegar without the addition "Tradizionale") undergoes a very special maturation, during which the vinegar decanted into smaller and smaller casks each year, compensating for the amount lost through evaporation. This process takes at least 12 years. Then the balsamic vinegar gets the addition "invecchiato", i.e. aged. After 25 years of maturing, it is then an "extra vecchio", i.e. a "very old". The continuous evaporation of the liquid creates a viscous texture, thick and full of highly concentrated aromatics. :) thats real italian taste!

Big compliment to the chef who does everything on his own. He fulfills all tasks with verve. The food is delicious and the prices are more than reasonable. My daughter and I enjoyed it. Il Pranzo is a real gem!

Very basic tiny Italian restaurant. The red wine by the glass was great for the price, and I did the ham pizza. I chatted with the owner who has lived in many places in Europe. One nice thing is that they put a full carafe of water at your table when you sit down. No one seems to do that during my travels in the Netherlands.

Wären fast vorbei gelaufen, sehr klein und dafür feine italienische Küche. Eine übersichtliche Speisekarte mit qualitativ tollen Produkten und Speisen. Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Ein Lob an den Gastgeber.

We ate delicious pizzas in this nice, beautiful and cozy restaurant. We will definitely come back! It's nice that a water carafe is supplied free of charge, an example for other restaurateurs.

A delight!! Small restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside but it's a mistake not to go inside. The chef cooks fresh, homemade products. Few tables, speaks French.

What beautiful, honest flavors and fresh products. You feel like you're in Italy. Host and kitchen chef on his own are doing well with barely any waiting time. Without a reservation you will not have a place.

The best pizza I have ever had. I am in the Netherlands for the week but somehow i ended up in Italy tonight. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Tasty, warm, wholesome.

I recently had a delicious meal here with one of my children. Cozy and atmospheric. Almost as if you were sitting in someone's living room. Children's pizza of good size and was devoured to the fullest. I was able to taste one bite of it and you can taste the fresh ingredients in, among other things, the tomato sauce. Make yourself a delicious pasta with gorgonzola. Not too salty or too much cheese but perfectly balanced. The bottle of chilled water on the table is also a nice feature and an example for other companies. I would definitely like to come back here with my other son or the whole family.

We were satisfied with the food last time and we also liked the small-scale and no-nonsense approach. Unfortunately, tonight we had to experience that sometimes the pendulum swings a little too much. Opening hours are posted from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. (doesn't seem like much for a restaurant to us). Then you still expect to be able to arrive at 6:50 PM. There were still a few tables available, but the sign on the door already said closed. So we went to inquire and we only got a second: 'that's right' and when we asked 'are we too late?' the only answer was 'yes'. No further explanation. Maybe this isn't necessary, but it did give us the feeling of how people feel about customers here. A letdown for us this time.

I have already had a delicious meal here twice. Very fair prices for delicious Italian and French dishes. This little restaurant in Middelburg is really great!

A hidden treasure in Middelburg, small restaurant, personal service, very decent pricing, some 'specials' on the menu that were really delicious, truly upmarket worthy. Very good value for money. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we did!

First time coming here. It's a nice small cozy restaurant. Very friendly for families. Ordered a fungi Pizza. Unfortunately the photo does not do it justice, it looked better in real life. The pizza was delicious, nice and crispy on the side, not too chewy and easy to cut. Plenty of cheese on the top too. The beverage I ordered was also nice and cold. Would happily come here again with friends or family. 5 stars well deserved. --- Update September 2022 Enjoyed a Tuna Pizza with cheese and parsley, very well balanced flavours. After trying other restaurants in town that serve pizza (I've tried a couple of others) I dare to say that this one is so far the best one in town. Also enjoyed the delicious homemade Tiramisu. Looking forward in visiting again!

Delicious food in this small, atmospheric and hospitable restaurant where the modest owner Jérémy is also the cook and host. The restaurant has five tables, so reservations are required. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The price-quality ratio is more than good. Highly recommended if you are in Middelburg. We will definitely come back again during our next holiday in Zeeland!

A small, fine restaurant, located on a street that leads towards the market square. We ate a delicious Tonno pizza there, the toppings were enough and the base of the pizza was simply delicious. The service was friendly and a bottle of still water was included for free with the meal. Price-performance is really great and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Great pizza and pasta for a relatively cheap price. There is also a changing daily/weekly menu with some high-quality dishes (in this case duck breast with raspberry sauce and roasted vegetables!). Super nice service! In addition to the drinks you order, there is always free still water with your meal and automatically without asking. This should be adopted everywhere! Only the panna cotta wasn't a real Italian panna cotta (but it was still tasty).

Discovered by chance during our visit to the city but what a joy and pleasure to find an Italian restaurant in February which serves very good dishes and great service from the owner. We highly recommend this little restaurant. 👍❤

Tonight I had dinner with my husband at Il Pranzo. We had such a delicious meal: the tagliatelle with mushroom cream sauce was the tastiest version I have ever eaten. My husband also liked the pizza (salami). Compliments for the chef: he did both the service in the restaurant and the preparation of the dishes. And all that for a very friendly price.

Very small restaurant with 5 tables. There is no small music, so it can be a bit quiet when it is quiet. The lighting is quite bright, a little more atmosphere would be nice. The cook/owner is very friendly, a bit shy/modest. Not necessary at all because the food is great. The menu is super simple and the great thing about it is that everything is fresh and homemade, here is someone who has made his dream come true. Very clever if you read the story on the site. We ate the weekly pasta (fresh pasta) and the bolognese. Caprese salad in advance and very tasty: provolone from the oven with bread. Goodluck!

Highly recommended, fresh and just as it should be

I had dinner here with two other friends and all three of us were very enthusiastic about the restaurant. The food was relatively cheap and was very tasty and despite not being a wine lover, I really liked the wine on offer here. A very positive experience!

We ate here twice last week. The owner cooks fantastic food, serves and takes orders. So a sole proprietorship. Make a reservation to avoid disappointment and bad reviews here. Recommended!

Very charming little restaurant with a great chef and a very friendly waitress! Very tasty food (salmon salad, pasta gorgonzola and pizza Margarita). All dishes were perfectly prepared and of high quality with an authentic Italian taste! And all for very affordable prices. We enjoyed! In short; really recommended!

Due to the very good reviews, we had somewhat high expectations. Unfortunately, I left the restaurant with a nasty (salty) aftertaste. The antipasti for 2 people was of excellent quality. Strangely enough, there were only 4 tiny pieces (2cm2 cubes) of focaccia; far too little for two people. Asked the waitress for a little extra bread. He had to ask approval for this first, but in the end it turned out fine. For the main course we both chose pasta bolognese. This dish turned out to be no longer available at 7:00 PM, despite the rather small menu. Then I opted for two dishes outside the normal menu: risotto with truffle and mushroom consommé and for my partner pasta with red pesto and salmon. After quite a long wait this was a big disappointment. The red pesto pasta was so salty that it was inedible after a few bites. We really like well-salted dishes, but the pasta was so salty that it actually tasted of nothing, except salt. My partner eventually ate the (also heavily salted) salmon, but was unable to eat more than a few bites of the pasta. The risotto was a bit bland in taste and also on the salty side. Certainly not a high flyer and ultimately not completely eaten. This is the first time for us that we have been served dishes that were virtually inedible due to the salt content. The waitress dropped another 'sorry' while the plates were being taken away. However, in no way was it acknowledged that the main courses were substandard (and we would leave hungry), on the contrary, everything was charged in full, even the 6 extra cubes of bread (75 euro cents). Chef and the inept (yet friendly) waitress did nothing to accommodate us in any way. Left quite flabbergasted and hungry. An interesting detail is that other guests did receive a decent amount of bread with their antipasti, after we made a comment about this. We are curious whether they also had to pay 75 euro cents extra for this.

Went on a weekday evening. Reserve well in advance (really necessary). Upon arrival we had doubts about our choice for this evening. 4 tables and empty except for a pizza taker. No, not what we had hoped for. Now the 1st impression is often the right one. Not now. We were kindly received. The "limited" menu gives this master chef the opportunity to pay full attention to his dishes. A delicious salmon salad to risotto with fresh truffle. Food level that you would not expect at this location/entourage. A friendly lady who combined hostess/service and dishes. And then Jeremy. A chef who you can see enjoying his creations and we were able to enjoy it too. Thank you.

Had lunch with 11 people, everything was delicious and fresh. He had to do it all by himself, but he mastered it well. It was noticeable that he has the necessary experience. Unfortunately, thanks to our extensive breakfast, we were not really hungry, so we almost only had small snacks. Highly recommended, but you shouldn't be in a hurry 1👍💪

During a weekend in Zeeland we had a delicious meal at Il Pranzo. The choice is not large, but the food is very tasty. Chosen for the special of the week. Delicious and of course concluded with a delicious Italian dessert. Top!!
