On our vacation trip, my wife was looking for Italian 🇮🇹 cuisine and found the pizzeria “Mamma Mia” in Middleburg. It was a direct hit! The pizzas/pasta dishes are highly recommended - a culinary delight and the prices were very reasonable. We'd love to come back 👍🏾

I had high expectations when I decided to order a pizza from Pizzeria Mamma Mia. The reviews were glowing: "best crust ever," "finger lickin' sauce," and "always fresh!" But what I found wasn't an explosion of taste – it was a horror movie. With the first bite I noticed something strange. It started well: a perfectly crispy crust, creamy cheese and a hint of basil. But then... I felt it. A texture that doesn't belong in a pizza. At first I thought it was a piece of onion that had been caramelized too long, but upon closer inspection I saw it: a black, curly hair. Not one, but a hair of epic proportions, as if it were starring in a bad comedy. My appetite disappeared faster than a pizza delivery on a busy Friday evening. I called the restaurant to share my experience. The response? "That can't be us, we wear hairnets." Of course, because hair often grows spontaneously from pizzas, right? They offered me a voucher, but let's be honest: the thought of another pizza from them makes my stomach turn. I think I'll just dive into the kitchen myself from now on. My advice? Only order here if you like surprises... and not the good kind.

You can enjoy delicious food here! Everything looks old/old fashioned on the inside. The owner really sympathizes with Italian football on TV. But..... the food is super good and the price-quality too! The clerk made some mistakes, but we were helped kindly. In short, if you don't care about luxury and want good food, then this is the place for you.

We ate here once a year ago and were very enthusiastic! Delicious dishes and a truly authentic Italian atmosphere... Knowing that a reservation is recommended, I tried to make a reservation by telephone on Friday, but unfortunately no answer or voicemail... Tried calling twice the next day, but no answer... On a random Saturday evening, I go to the shopping center where this restaurant is located only to read that they are closed for a (obviously well-deserved) holiday. According to Google and their website, nothing is mentioned about this or a tape on the telephone number would have been useful. I think that could have been a little better. We're just going to try it again as soon as we're in the Middelburg area 😉👍 Ciao

Poorly garnished pizzas, no flavor, dough like the cardboard in the box.

Gaetano has by far the best pizzas in town. A real Italian pizza. The location where his pizzeria is located says nothing about the food, so definitely stop by and try it if you haven't been there yet. I have been a regular customer at the pizzeria for years and will remain so.

Far from the best pizza I've had. It was let down by the base. I'll stick to wood fired authentic bases. Not worth the €13 for a takeaway pizza

They have delicious original Italian pizzas, but you have to pay in cash and you can't pay by card there.

Had dinner here last Saturday... ate pasta carbonara, which tasted good. A little later I immediately got gurgling in my stomach and 8 hours later it continued, hanging over the pot for 12 hours with many complaints throughout my body. Went to the HAP yesterday evening where food poisoning was ruled out. Unfortunately I can't find any email from this case, so it has to be this way.

De chef weet zijn gasten te verwennen met echt ‘Italiaans’ eten. Prijs kwaliteit meer dan uitstekend. Locatie is wellicht wat minder, maar laat dat je pret niet bederven want de gastvrijheid en de kookkunsten zijn zoals het horen moet! Daar kunnen andere bedrijven nog wat van leren.

What a great service! Ordered 25 pizzas for 30 people. They don't have a delivery service, so we had to come and pick them up by car, which was no problem. The girl walked with us to the car and gave tips about not stacking more than 5 pizzas on top of each other otherwise they will be crushed. When we arrived at our bungalows, where we stayed with the group, I received a call and it turned out that we had forgotten 5 pizzas. She had remembered that we were somewhere in Koudekerke and drove up behind us. 5 minutes later she showed up on the sidewalk with the 5 forgotten pizzas! So incredibly sweet!! The pizzas also tasted very good :) (vegan is possible!)

Inconspicuous shop that may not look 100% visually inviting, BUT the staff and the food are really excellent. In addition, it is very affordable for the Netherlands. It's best to pay in cash, as it costs 10% more with a card. Taking a dog with you wasn't a problem either.

Pizza quattro formaggi €11 was okay, but I think there were only 2 or 3 types of cheese on it. Blue cheese, which should always be on it, was not there anyway. I think €5 beer is expensive for a pizza place. At the cash register, a 10% service charge was suddenly added, which later turned out to be on the card with a small sticker on the front of the card in unclear handwriting. Pay in cash only.

The pizzas are quite tasty and quite a wide range of Italian food. The service is also okay, but very commercially oriented. Price quality more than okay. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back.

The linguine met gambas is PHENOMENAL. Exactly real Italian. Order it! You will feel very very happy. The pizza and pasta bolognese/carbonara were also fantastic btw. Bravo! Price is very good.

Unfortunately it was nothing like what we heard of it. It was very cold in the shop and the staff was not very friendly. Pizza pollo without onion and pepper had little taste. Pasta tortellini was tasty but not much. You can only pay in cash. All in all, we were very disappointed, especially after all the positive reactions from people around us.

It was occasionally cold inside because of the 'collectors' and it could be more atmospheric (candles on, flowers, different pillows) but this is negligible if you compare it to the friendliness, the quality (soooo tasty!) and the price. We recommend it to everyone!

Not satisfied... It was a long wait (1.5 hours for pizzas), the heating did not work so it was very cold and the food did not meet our expectations. The pizzas had little taste. It is clear that this restaurant is experiencing a staff shortage, 1 star because the service was friendly and dealt with feedback constructively.

Not a Dutch rip-off that calls itself an Italian that makes Frisbee Pizzas or makes everything out of bags. Best Italian I've encountered. This Food is made from the heart. When I was served my meal here, I literally got Flashbacks of my Travels from 2016-2018-2019. It's a good thing I don't live too close otherwise I would have been there every week. I'll be back soon! Insider tip! Inconspicuously located in a shopping center, you can get authentic Italian food here. The restaurant is run by an Italian family. The people are super friendly and warm, offer advice and respond to requests. We had pasta, pizza and a salad. Everything was perfect and very tasty. In addition to Dutch, there is also Italian beer. If you can't see all the tourist restaurants anymore, you should take a detour to Mamma Mia. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing experience! A really surprisingly good restaurant in a shopping center. We ate with 14 people within 60 minutes, had 2 drinks and cleared the table! And that in a full store and for a great price!

Desperately bad pizza, unimaginative and poorly topped. They pour wine into mini glasses and then fill them up to 1 third. You do this with large glasses, but not if the glass is already mini. That this rip-off gives people food for thought. It is also not possible to pay by card, which is very unusual
