We ate two pizzas, the staff took our intolerances into account, and the service was quick despite the crowds. Friendly staff.

We ate here last year after the art market, and again this year. No regrets, quite the opposite!

The food was delicious, the atmosphere cosy and upscale. In the beginning the waiter was checking on us but as he got busy, it took some time to order drinks. Hope to come back.

We've been several times, but this was the last time. The food was seriously subpar. Only the carpaccio was okay. The Vitello Tonnato and pasta were tasteless, cold, and the presentation was poor. We also noticed that so many bar staff were standing idle. The young man who helped us was friendly.

We had an absolutely delicious meal here! The food was truly fantastic, and the service was fantastic. We've never had such a delicious meal – it deserves a solid 5 stars!

We had a wonderful meal! A party of six, six different requests, and literally everything was possible! Hats off to the smooth and especially friendly service!

Good, cozy location and interior

Really the best pizza I ever had. Was very good with fresh fish. also the pasta of my wife was very good. We were helped quickly and were fast with serving the food.

My wife ordered spaghetti carbonara. The pasta was cold, so she complained. When they came back, the plate was hot and the pasta was still lukewarm. The egg sauce was clumped together. We returned the pasta, stating that we wouldn't pay for this dish. The boss then brought the bill himself and asked us if we were satisfied. We told him about our experience with the pasta. After a brief conversation, he took the bill and told us we didn't have to pay anything. We were surprised, but we had saved €48.50.

The service was great: friendly, attentive and fast. The dishes were delicious. Highly recommended for those who love quality and a pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely come back!

Never eaten so badly, scandalous Pizza Diavolo: not cooked through, only salami and 2 anchovies, lasagna lukewarm, ravioli with salmon 7 pieces and very dry, pasta broccoli shrimps, no broccoli, nothing creamy and 4 shrimps.

Today we ate here with a group of 15 people. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. We were positively surprised that the food arrived so quickly/all at the same time. Recommended!

Good food, beautifully draped. Too bad the antipasta is only slightly different in price from the main courses. That makes it expensive for the small eater.

Dined with a group of 26 people. Booked in advance, pleasant contact with the owner. We were allowed to use our welcome drink in the courtyard exclusively. Could be a nice spot, but was not decorated that evening. Dined inside. I had already ordered a mix of antipasti prior to our visit to the restaurant, so that the guests who had often travelled far could eat something right away. This did not go entirely smoothly. We first had to choose our main course and only then did we get the planks with antipasti that had already been prepared. This fitted in better with the kitchen's planning.... The quality of the antipasti was good and the pizzas and pastas also received good reviews. It was very busy in the restaurant and I think that is why the service was not always timely with taking drinks.

Great restaurant serving great food. They squeezed us in without a booking and made sure our meals were served fast so we wouldn’t muck up their later bookings. This suited us fine, we were very grateful. But if you want a few courses or would like a slow meal then I suggest you book ahead

Just ordered for the 2nd time and had it delivered to your home. I wasn't that enthusiastic the first time, but my daughter thought it was okay, so I gave it a second chance. If only we hadn't done that. The bottom is tough, one side of both pizzas is soaking wet, sparsely topped, ingredients are missing. We both left the pizza (and we certainly don't do that anytime soon). For us, three times is a charm. This was the last time. Not recommended! By the way, the delivery person was very friendly.

Disappointing experience – unfortunately not recommended We were really looking forward to a visit to La Piccola in Middelburg - especially given the many positive reviews (currently 4.2 stars on Google). Unfortunately, our expectations were far from being met. I ordered a Frutti di Mare pizza and was disappointed: the seafood was ice cold and obviously not completely thawed - no trace of fresh taste. This made the entire dish barely edible. The atmosphere in the restaurant was okay, but the food is the most important thing for us - and unfortunately La Piccola failed completely. We absolutely cannot understand the high ratings after this experience. It's a shame - we had hoped for much more. A visit we will not repeat.

I think I just ate the best Italian pizza outside of Italy.

The food was delicious but the service was terribly slow. We had to wait a very long time for a drink and the dessert took even longer, how difficult can it be to bring an ice cream and a tiramisu. At one point we just paid the bill and went home without dessert. Shame.

Anyone who loves real Italian food will be addicted to La Piccola Italia. We ate our way through the entire menu three nights in a row and were never disappointed. Whether it was a wonderfully fresh salad, wonderful al dente pasta or pizza (according to Grandpa's recipe from Sardinia) that made you smile, it was all incredibly tasty and perfectly prepared. Hurray, it tastes like Italy!! The icing on the cake is the fantastic desserts. Delicious wines (also from Sardinia) are served, which offer great value for money. Last but not least, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the relaxed, attentive staff made every evening very cozy and warm. You can just tell that this family knows what they are doing and why the store is full every evening. This type of gastronomy that exudes so much love is very rare anymore and that's why Piccola Italia is a jewel!! It's a shame we were only in Middelburg for three days, but we will come back! :-) And it was probably better for our figure...

Swordfish was excellent, served with samphire, capers and tomatoes. The lasagna had been heated in the microwave and was still cold on the inside. This was quickly resolved by additional heating, which did not benefit the dough. In addition, the lasagna tasted good.

The service was very nice and helped/thought along. The food was hot and delivered very quickly, and it was also very tasty. The atmosphere was good too.

The pizza was not tasty. They were ready quickly and unfortunately that was noticeable in the quality. The bottom was soft and squishy; not recommended. The service was correct and friendly.

Upon arrival we were received in a downright unfriendly manner by an employee who was also unable to say thank you when receiving a nice tip (given because of otherwise friendly staff). Pizza was a bit too greasy unfortunately. Tiramisu tasty.

Nice atmosphere, lousy food. No taste, hot dishes are served cold. However, the Vitello was lukewarm, which I think should be cold. Prawns come straight from the freezer, heated in the microwave, onto your plate on top of a tasteless pasta. In short, not edible. Tasteless. Shame.

Food is good, modest portions, but service sometimes seems to forget that there are guests. Takes a long time to get your attention.

Best Italian in Zeeland, been several times and always delicious!

I write this review with pain in my heart... We have eaten here before and ordered pizza and were always satisfied. Today was unfortunately different. The pizzas weren't crispy, they didn't seem fully cooked. Now ordered tiramisu for the first time... See the photo, is this small portion worth €9?! I have to be honest, I feel a bit fooled.

Addendum 2024.02.16 + 17 - on a weekend trip to Middelburg we stayed at La Piccola Italia again. It's a real pleasure to be able to come here again. The team is so warm, attentive and friendly, the cuisine is so delicious and so uncomplicatedly honest. We are already looking forward to summer 2024. Then we will be here again for a break! Heerlijk! Addendum 01/01/2023 - Always so fine and relaxing to be able to experience hospitality in this professionally run house. Our visits to La Piccola have always been filled with great anticipation for years. - We have always been going to La Piccola when staying in and around Middelburg for several years. Damn good, no, damn super good pizza! Good uncomplicated cocktails. Freshly tapped beer. The staff is professional, friendly, omnipresent and yet unobtrusive. A very lively house on Damplein in Middelburg. It's great to go to the cinema here and eat out. See and be seen while enjoying a good meal with friends. Wonderful! I can't imagine a visit to Middelburg without stopping at La Piccola. My best regards to the team!

Very nice place to have a delicious dinner. You have the option to book online on the day itself and a perfect spot will be set aside for you. The carbonara and cannelloni were perfectly prepared and we received a delicious organic red wine recommended by the host. Enjoyed!

We ate here today during our holiday in Zeeland. We ate a margherita pizza together beforehand and it was delicious. After this we both had pasta and both were very tasty. The service in the restaurant was also great! Highly recommended to go to this delicious Italian restaurant when you are in Middelburg!

We were with a large group. Those who chose a pizza were very satisfied. I had a pasta dish. The pasta was not fresh and too al dente. As a result, the pasta didn't taste like anything. Only the eggplant was delicious.

Visited for the first time. It was a good pizza and they are not easy to find in Middelburg. The menu also has many real Italian dough dishes such as cannelloni, which we will try next time. Friendly and helpful staff. It was a very busy day and the staff was busy but resolved this well. Nice case and great prices.

Things are quieter in a train station hall. If you want to have a nice meal in peace, you should avoid this restaurant. I couldn't have a conversation with my wife because of the volume as I would have had to scream. The pizzas couldn't compensate for this deficiency either. Were just ok.

Medium size restaurant in the city center. There is paid parking infront of the restairant. The pizzas were very tasty. There is beer garden on the back and a few tables infront of the restaurant. They serve Italian beer, pizza and pasta.

Nice terrace. The dishes do not correspond to the title. Nicoise salad without potatoes without green beans ... in short mixed greens with cherry tomatoes and crumbled tuna! I ordered dishes supposed to be gluten-free unfortunately I was sick ... The deplorable service no cutlery and no plates. Restaurant a little too touristy.

We had a very comfortable dinner here. The kitchen is highly recommended. We also sat outside very comfortably. The Frutti de Mare was excellent.

Normally I never leave a review, but these pizzas were more than worth it!!!!! We really had a fantastic meal here!!

Pizza soggy with far too much bland tasting cheese, Pasta Frutti di Mare unimaginative, seafood overcooked, hardly seasoned. The open wines (tried 3 different ones) were cheap and bad. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, the floor is dirty. Conclusion: Once and never again, not recommended.

La Piccola Italia is a nice restaurant on Damplein, we had an Insalata Mista there which not only had mixed salad but also various antipasti, the price was justified. The pizzas were crispy and very tasty. I can highly recommend the Piccola.

Ordered a delicious pizza and it was definitely delicious. Staff friendly and you will be helped quickly. April 2024. Ordered pizza. At home we discovered that the pizza base was scorched black. Cleaning the oven bottom is a matter. And Pizza is also greasy last time.

Nice restaurant. We were on the second shift in the evening, but our tables were still occupied, we went for a walk for another 20 minutes, but then had to wait even longer in the restaurant at the bar. We didn't get anything from the house to wait... That was a bit of a shame. The rest of the food was delicious.

We were able to get a table today on Christmas Eve. A very great family-run restaurant. Nice atmosphere, warm and good service. The food was really authentic Italian. From A to Z the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. The price/performance is more than just fair. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

Great spot that's usually possible to get into without a reservation, unlike a lot of other places in town. I recommend the quattro stagioni pizza and house Montepulciano.

Italian catering establishment that does not look specifically Italian in terms of decor, but does serve delicious Italian dishes. My arugula pizza was tasty and well served with parma ham and pecorino.

Some time ago we ordered cannelloni here on a Tuesday evening with three pizzas. The pizzas were okay, the cannelloni were frozen and tasted like grass. Really terrible and for that price. No idea how food can be sent out of a restaurant like that. I have given la Piccola several chances to show that they can do it, but this was the last attempt. For me, this is really inferior to Italian cuisine.
