Irish Pub Slainte in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

I'm giving it 5 stars because we went to see the World Cup match and our team won, plus the atmosphere was great fun, the waiters were very attentive and the food was delicious, overall we left very satisfied.

An anti-male bar that plays German music "Erika" and doesn't like groups of male friends.

Have delicious tekila! Ps. I hope they fixed music aparature

Rudest staff ever. Bartender yelled at us to speak up, looks annoyed and was rolling his eyes at us. Refused to make an irish coffee even though he was serving other guests beer. They dragged a huge dumpster into the building AS PEOPLE WERE IN THERE. Absolute disgrace for an irish bar - literally go anywhere else but here

Some drinks were missing even though they were on the menu. The wrong drinks were served, and we were charged a tip even though we declined it. The service was unenthusiastic... I think that's enough for now.

Was going for a casual lunch with 3 friends, until we were rudely ignored and sort of turned away. however we stayed and had to go up and order, we were rudely made fun of for food preferences (they were ignored) food was mediocre at best, pints were more expensive then other bars, no vibe or atmosphere, and the bartender with the man bun and beard was being very obnoxious and flirtatious with all women that passed through, he was also very rude and i guess showing off for everyone? he was wearing a Newcastle top, think he was irish but if not wouldn’t be surprised if he’s faking it

Avoid! They have zero respect for the customers. I had to wait 10 minutes outside, he brought the wrong order and I had to hear that I "definitely oder that" when I pointed out the mistake. No, mate I definitely did NOT order a veggie breakfast ever in my life! Had to eat something I didn't want because I was late and starving... It was also horrible by the way, only the coffee was decent.

The service is terrible; they should find another line of work. They get angry when you order two Heineken (in Spanish), which is almost the same as saying it in English, replying, "I don't understand you; if you're in Amsterdam, you have to speak English." Plus, the bar is filthy! I absolutely do not recommend it.

I only had a beer there. Good, but expensive, like everywhere else in Amsterdam. Quaint, nice atmosphere.

I can't see why they decided to call this pub Irish because apart from the odd Irish sign there wasn't anything Irish about it. No Irish music and no Irish atmosphere. Staff were nice and service was good but as it was sold as an Irish pub I had an expectation and sadly on that front I was disappointed. If you are looking for a proper Irish pub with Irish music and Irish atmosphere go to the blarney stone

Nice pub with a good atmosphere. Tried the bitterbollen which were scorching hot and burn our mouths (wasn't a fan).

What's unusual is that this Irish pub doesn't always just play 80s rock, but depending on the team's mood, sometimes also goa by Vini Vici.

Visited this bar a few times during my short stay in Amsterdam. Was a nice atmosphere with friendly bar staff. Klaudia, was especially helpful and friendly and spent a while talking to me and really made me feel at home. I didn't get to eat there, which is the only reason I didn't rate the food, but the dishes that came out of the kitchen looked great. I will be back! Thanks. Funny laughing voice actor guy

Writing this because I have literally just watched the chef get completely undressed and change outfit IN THE KITCHEN around all the food. There is a window into the kitchen and they still stand there brushing their hands through their untethered hair, and then handling food with those same bare hands and serving it. Disgusting.

Typical Irish pub with a great atmosphere. Prices are high, but that's typical for the city. Happy hour Monday to Thursday from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Shocking attitude of bar team. To busy talking amongst themselves to serve me my first drink. Then when I went to get another drink I was told only allowed a half as closing in 20 mins. When I arrived I asked when serving till ? They said 1am. The half pint cost 6 but the first pint cost 9. Full of attitude .

Had a great St. Patrick’s day until the evening time came. After spending the day and my group giving great custom to the business they began charging customers for the toilet. We were forced to leave to avoid this greedy way of making money.

I went on New Year's Eve, the atmosphere was nice, but my bad experience was with the bathrooms. Besides charging €1 to use the toilet, it was very dirty and clogged. Everything was full of trash and the floor was filthy. Very poor service. Go somewhere better.

Unfortunately my experience wasn’t good even though the place has decent reviews, I found the bartender”northern Irish by the sounds of it” a bit rude and not welcoming at all, maybe a stressful evening which I can understand if someone is overwhelmed but I also expect as a paying customer at least some quality of service. Music was also way too loud! Toilets also atrocious

A proper Irish pub with Irish staff and Irish customers. Good buzzy atmosphere. Must stop on a visit to the Dam. Food was better than I'd expected from an Irish bar. Also when you go to pay, none of this pushy leave a tip behaviour you get in other bars and restaurants in Amstersdam

Pre-gaming at Irish Pub Slainte turned out to be a fantastic idea! The energy in the place is welcoming, and I loved the laid-back vibe. I grabbed a pint and some nachos, and both were surprisingly good for a pub. The nachos were loaded and crispy — not soggy at all, which is a pet peeve of mine. The staff kept the drinks flowing, and they genuinely seemed to enjoy what they were doing. If you’re in Amsterdam and need a fun spot to start your night, definitely make a pit stop here!

Irish pub in the heart of the Red Light district, prices compatible to others in the area but most important of all, a place that was non-smoking for those in the area who want a smoke-free area.

Had an amazing time at Slante Bar in Amsterdam Central! The atmosphere was spot on — friendly, welcoming, and full of good energy. A special shout-out to Lee behind the bar — what a legend! Super friendly and easy to chat with. Turns out he went to school with Paul Gascoigne and knows the Metro Centre and every parking spot around it like the back of his hand. He really knows the North East of England inside out — great to meet someone who brings that bit of home to Amsterdam. Top guy and top service. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area! 🍻🇳🇱

Went for late lunch. I got bangers and mash, it was good. My friends got cottage pie, which lacked mashed potsyoes and was served with beans. A bit strange. Music was way too loud 2 pm in the afternoon could not make a conversation and when asked to turn it a bit down, nothing was done.

Been coming to Amsterdam for sometime now and always my first port of call - this time around I enjoyed a few beers and some breakfast in the outside area and met some lovely fellow solo travelers. Hint - get the cheese toastie in the morning well worth the €3 something to like your stomach for a small snack Staff are amazing and always up for a joke - see you again soon and thank you for being my home from home boozer

Attended on 17/9/25 for tea. Ordered the 1/2 chicken with chips and salad and the nachos. It was brilliant. Would defiantly return. Thanks

Barstaff are a bit hit and miss, not very talkative. Food was good. Atmosphere the twice we went in was was low key.

A relaxed place where I could sit outside and enjoy my beer. The outdoor tables hadn’t been set up yet, so I asked if we could have one, and the lady at the bar immediately said she’d help and prepared the table, then brought us our beers. It’s a place where all the staff seem genuinely happy. We’ll definitely come back again

The beer serve was poor, probably from dirty lines or glassware. It's almost impossible to talk inside because of the loud music that plays constantly. It's very expensive here.

Went in to watch football and must say was a great place to go. The staff were very nice and gave great customer service.

Served proper (southern) Irish Tayto crisps. Music was an odd choice when we went in - hardly any people in on a Friday night.

DO NOT GO HERE ON A NIGHT OUT. The bar staff are working with scammers in the area and they are coordinating stories, the scammer in cahoots with them will walk up to you, say he is the owner of the bar then the bar staff will confirm that he is so you trust these thugs, then they will take your money and cycle off. The staff are very unhelpful.

Typical Irish pub with some tables outside, a short walk from the center of Amsterdam. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Excellent food (ate fish and chips and chicken cutlets with various side dishes). Advised!

Irish style pub located in the heart of De Wallen Amsterdam. We went as a group. Good draft beer. Staff not very supportive of Italian celebrations. All in all, despite being kicked out (after spending a significant amount), we had a lot of fun. If there is a chance we will definitely come back... as long as they let us in 😅

I visit it almost everytime I am in Amsterdam. Great location near the central Station. Reasonable price considering Amsterdam is of course expensive. The service was always great and variety of choice of food and drinks. It was great to visit solo as well as with friends.
