Isaac's Bar in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

The place is located on the top, 5th floor of the De Bijenkorf shopping center. There's a large indoor fast food area with views of Dam Square and an open terrace near the escalators. From the terrace, you can see the Beurs van Berlage and adjacent buildings. In good weather, it's a wonderful place to enjoy the views of Amsterdam's city center from above. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. Although we only ordered three coffees, the waiter managed to get our order wrong. The coffee itself was quite average.

I would like to share a very disappointing experience at Amsterdam rooftop bar. We ordered a Pornstar Martini for €12.50 (9.06.2026) expecting a freshly made cocktail prepared by the bartender. Instead, we were served a pre-made canned drink, without being informed in advance. Had we known this, we would never have ordered it. The quality of the drink was extremely poor - overly sweet, artificial in taste, and far below what one would expect for this price and from your venue. It was simply undrinkable. When I approached the bar staff to address the issue, I was told that nothing could be done and that we were required to pay anyway. I find this completely unacceptable, as the product was not properly represented and did not meet reasonable expectations. We ended up paying, but left with a very negative impression. We came to enjoy our time, but instead had a frustrating experience. I kindly ask you to review this situation and issue a refund for the cocktails, as they did not meet basic quality or service standards. I look forward to your response

Delicious salmon sandwich, tasty fries and the bitterballen are TOP Drinks 👍 rosé, beer and soft drinks.

Bad . You can sit all your life without being served. All kids and fashion people walking around not doing what you want to eat . If you are not comfortable don’t work there .

Fine cup of coffee and cake. Just a noisy crowd. Tourists taking selfies, a Botox mom giving her child a video phone with sound and a wind-up chair dancing on the table. She didn't understand that I minded it. I left quickly.

The food was not cooked properly, the cheese on the pizza was very hard

Rudeness of the staff is legendary here. Either you wait to pay for the order while they discuss how their day is going or they get frustrated because they made an error proceeding your order. Its ridiculous . The most expensive Store in the centr of Amsterdam with the worst service 😂🤣

Nice and aesthetically pleasing bar inside of the De Bijenkorf. I like the idea of taking a cocktail pause between the shopping and they have really made the bar look good. The espresso martinis tasted amazing, but the foam on top looked a bit sad. Also, the straws weren’t really necessary. I liked the nuts on the side (for free). The bartender (who was the only working person there) wasn’t too service oriented, didn’t get too much of an impression of him.

A very nice place for families to eat and have fun in the center of Amsterdam. You can rest after shopping downstairs. Diverse menu for the food and accessible for elderly people. Very clean restrooms with a changing room for babies. We have also enjoyed the food. Maybe the quality and the cooking of the French fries can be improved a little bit.

Only ate one sandwich with something to drink, but it was tasty.

Aanbod op de website komt niet overeen met de werkelijkheid. WiFi verbinding super, super slecht. Tv kijken idem.

Verborgen parel in het mooiste warenhuis van Nederland met een barman uit de 5-sterren categorie.

Mooi verzorgd & lekker gezellig. De chai latte is uitstekend.

This small bar is on 1st floor of de Bijenkorf (department store). The bartender is skilled and very friendly. coffee tasted good. Nice place to get some break during shopping.
