What a disappointment... we thought we would celebrate our wedding anniversary in a nice way, we have been coming here for 13 years. We had made a reservation so that should be fine... not so! We were taken to some kind of attached room, a small table half against the wall and curtain. The pizza calzone was tasteless and I left it after a few bites. My husband had the pasta olio aglio peperoncino.... as bland as a towel. The door we were half sitting in front of was opened because people were hot... we were blown away by a cold wind. We left everything there and paid... done with it!! Lost customer is Morus.... Afterwards we got some fries at Bram Ladage...

Had dinner here on a regular Thursday evening. Luckily I had made a reservation because the place was full. Very busy, so a lot of noise. I wouldn't have a romantic dinner for 2 here. It takes a long time for your order to be taken, but once that has happened your food comes very quickly. The seasonal garnish consisted of 6 halved cherry tomatoes and the service did not indicate that pasta or something similar was not served with the meat and fish. Once home I saw that this should have been ordered separately. Missed opportunity by the restaurant. Desserts were excessive, so that still satisfied my hunger somewhat. Quality of the food is good.

Really a fan of is morus normally unfortunately tonight was disappointing. Soggy pizza that fell apart and was folded, and the 2nd pizza tasted different than normal (less cheese maybe), next time better!

Is Morus. Special...delicious freshly prepared food, you really feel like you are in Italy. People also speak Italian, some English, but very nice, the garden is also very cozy. In short, a nice family restaurant with freshly prepared Italian food, a must to eat there once. It also seems small from the outside, but it is a nice large restaurant with different rooms. We like to go there.

Awesome pizza place. The best lasagna and the best Italian pizzas anyone has ever eaten, even in Italy. A succulent tiramisu. The boss is super nice and creates a good Italian atmosphere. Will come back as soon as we come back. A store next door well stocked with super good Italian products

Wonderful pizzeria in the middle of Alphen aan den Rijn. Thin, super tasty pizza, large selection. Super tasty original spaghetti carbonara. We made reservations in advance but were delayed due to traffic jams but called. Although the restaurant was full to the last seat, they simply postponed our reservation accordingly so that we were still able to enjoy the evening in a great atmosphere despite the delay. Great restaurant, absolutely recommended.

Ciao tutti, buonissimo delicious pizza Il salmone, pizza with tomatoes, salmon, capers, mozzarella, onions, parsley!! And very thin base and very crispy!! And of course baked in a wood oven, and what is also very nice is that this pizzeria is run by a real Italian family from Sardinia for 40 years!!! Definitely recommended and friendly staff!! Definitely a place for delicious food in an Italian atmosphere

Out of nostalgic memories we ate here with the now adult children. We used to come here for the casual atmosphere with the children. The atmosphere is still great but we found the food to be a bit bland in taste. Ordering drinks was very difficult. The second drink came when the main course was almost finished. Go there again and hope to experience the fun of the past again.

The Pizza looked like the frozen one from Buitoni... my girlfriend took a Uni spritz and it looked like colored sparkling water... the pre-cooked pasta that the Spaghetto had become bucatino... never mind cleaning, imagine that under our table there was one of these adhesive strips for mice so I've said it all...they must have forgotten to remove it😂 we had a table near the Pizzeria and the burnt flour pizza was unbearable...I strongly advise against it

I am now over 40 and have been coming here since I was a child. Is Morus was really a household name in Alphen. I am no longer an Alphen resident, but I still had a craving for the pizzas from Is Morus. Unfortunately, the pizza bases are no longer the same as they used to be, so that was a deep disappointment. The staff doesn't really care about you either, I've only walked there twice myself. Too bad Morus. Fortunately, the price wasn't too bad.

Heel slecht ….. eten hier jaren maar ze maken van alles open en uitbreiden maar eten gaat achter uit ! In me spaghetti moest ik gehakt zoeken geen smaak in en onze pizza was echt flauw …. Italiaans is geen Italiaan jammer

Been dining for a while now. The food was good but not special but well worth the price. Service okay. The atmosphere now resembled an all you can eat, many people in a short time and with a time slot. They have certainly become a lot more expensive!

The restaurant is very pretty! The tomato soup and bread was delicious and a great appetizer. However the mains weren't that great. The seafood pasta was okay but I could chew sand in the shells. There were even broken shells in my pasta... My partner had the vegetarian pasta option, not bad but not great either.

The food was good and the staff very friendly. We as group got a bit fresh temperature room with uncomfortable seats which was fine as we were informed about that. What we were not informed about, was if we wanted bread as side dishes. It was just put on the table and as the last person to pay, I had to pay €22,50 for the bread which some of us didn’t even ate. And no, that one beer from the house don’t take away this bad feeling I had after leaving. It is such a pity as I would have giving this place 5 stars for their food and staff

Is Morus moet zijn best doen. Afgelopen jaren meerdere keren bij Is Morus gegeten. De pizza’s zijn hier goed en ook de andere gerechten op de kaart zijn lekker. Daarnaast zijn hun prijzen per gerecht niet duur. Echter door de uitbreidingen in de afgelopen jaren, is de bediening niet meegegroeid. Lang wachten bij de eerste bestelling voor je drankje en ook de latere wachttijden tussen de verschillende gerechten, zijn te lang. Bediening loopt wel langs maar heeft het waarschijnlijk te druk met andere dingen. Als goedmaker krijgen we wel extra dip bij het stokbrood voor het lange wachten maar bij de latere rondes wordt het lange wachten waarschijnlijk als normaal ervaren. Eten zelf blijft wel goed.

Bought two lasagna, both of which had a badly burnt crust, the sauce was tasteless and watery. In any case, there was little taste except for the dressing. Unfortunately, the third time has been a bad experience. I'm afraid it will go to the chip shop next door from now on.

The food at Is Morus is always top and phenomenal. But if they are not careful, they will fall victim to their own success... Compliments to the kitchen, the food was great. About the service... that's a completely different story. You come in, you get food and your drink. Then you are forgotten. It's a shame... because I think the catering industry should rely on that in terms of drinks and side dishes. And we weren't the only ones. All the tables around us were waiting a lot. But then you won't be there for long. We ended up getting desert elsewhere. Because you can wait and wait until you weigh an ounce, but no one will come. Shame. In short. Quick tasty bite without service, fine. For a fun night out with good hospitality and service... definitely don't.

The delivery person called that he couldn't find it, received an apology when he arrived, but that was completely unnecessary because he was at the door before the specified time. Het goede bij Is Morus is, dat er altijd zeer goede maaltijden geserveerd worden van topkwaliteit het is altijd vers, smaakvol en heel lekker eten voor redelijke prijzen. De bediening is vlot en zeer vriendelijk. Het Paaslunchmenu wat laatst in 2024 geserveerd werd betrof een 3 gangen Paasmenu voor 45.00 euro p.p. dit was veel te duur, want wij hadden een completere maaltijd verwacht, het was Zeer teleurstellend en niet van het normale niveau wat men bij hun gewend was. Er was beloofd Tagliatelle te serveren als hoofdgerecht maar er werd normale Spaghetti geboden ook een minpuntje, samen met de krakkemikkege stoelen die niet comfortabel zitten. Het was een karig en niet van waarde hetgeen voor wat men betalen moest, jammer dat dit nu net als een afgang aangemeld moet worden ! Zelfs voor 30 euro was het Paasmenu niet waard, het is normaliter altijd een feest om te gaan eten bij Is Morus ! We blijven zeker al gast komen omdat dit naar mijn mening een foutje was wat normaal bij Is Morus niet gangbaar is. Overal zijn wij een tevreden gast want wij vertouwen erop dat voor het volgende Paasmenu ( of andere gangenmenu`s ) er een verbetering zal gaan plaatsvinden. Bravo voor het normale en Pfff voor het Paaslunchmenu.

The good thing at Is Morus is that they always serve very good meals of top quality, it is always fresh, tasty and very tasty food for reasonable prices. The service is smooth and very friendly. The Easter lunch menu that was last served in 2024 was a 3-course Easter menu for 45.00 euros per person. This was far too expensive, because we expected a more complete meal, it was very disappointing and not of the normal level that people were used to. It was promised to serve Tagliatelle as a main course, but normal Spaghetti was offered, which was also a downside, together with the rickety chairs that were not comfortable. It was a meager and not of value for what one had to pay, a pity that this now has to be reported as a departure! Even for 30 euros the Easter menu was not worth it, it is normally always a treat to eat at Is Morus! We will certainly continue to come as guests because in my opinion this was a mistake that is not normal at Is Morus. We are satisfied guests everywhere because we trust that an improvement will take place for the next Easter menu (or other course menus). Bravo for the normal and Pfff for the Easter lunch menu.

Nice place, food not so much. My kids ordered Pasta Pomodoro each. The portion was small and they remained hungry. I ordered a Parmigiana di melanzane which was hard and not good. I also ordered a vegi Calzone (#17 on the menu) which was a disappointment. I then ordered a margarita pizza as the kids were still hungry and I didn't want to take any more risks. The pizza was OK. I would not return to this restaurant. I would only recommend this place if you have small kids as it is a child friendly place but not for the food.

There is always a very nice atmosphere there. I have never eaten a tastier pizza anywhere in the Netherlands than at Is Morus! We love coming there. Went last Sunday afternoon when the children were allowed to bake pizza themselves. What fun they do with the children! Always as if you were in Italy.
