Simply good food, even when ordering. It is not a Michelin-starred restaurant. But simply authentic, tasty Italian food. We order and/or eat there regularly. Nothing wrong with it so far.

Thank you very much for inviting us back and giving us the opportunity to experience your restaurant again. After our visit today, I can honestly say that the experience was completely different from our first visit last Sunday. I believe that day was probably not representative of your usual standards. It was very busy, and perhaps the high number of customers affected the quality and consistency of the food and service. This time, following your invitation, we tried several dishes including the lasagna, pizza, and tiramisu. Everything was delicious and clearly showed the quality that your restaurant aims to deliver. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Based on today’s experience, I would happily rate the restaurant 4.5 stars. I also want to thank you personally for taking customer feedback seriously and reaching out to us. Not every restaurant owner would make that effort, and it shows that you genuinely care about your customers and your business. We will definitely be coming back. We have been searching for a really good pizza place in the area for quite some time and haven’t found many options that meet our expectations. My son loves pizza and pasta, so I am sure we will become regular customers.

A household name for over 45 years, but above all, delicious food at a fair price in a pleasant environment with friendly staff.

When it is busy in the 'newer section', the ambient noise is quite loud due to the acoustics. The pizzas are tasty and the price/quality ratio is okay.

Fast, rushed, little coziness. It is clear that they are often busy and therefore earn easy money. The real charm is gone. Now it's just mass production equals big money.

First time there in the netherlands and my son lives there and recommended this place. Nice people great food fast service but get there early better yet make a reservation the seats fill up fast well worth it leave room for dessert they were really good ❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday, I accidentally ordered the wrong pizza with ham. We do not eat pork. After mentioning this on the phone, the employee indicated that this was not their problem, but mine. According to her, all the delivery drivers were “gone,” even though the delivery driver cycled away just two minutes after delivering. Her tone was mainly angry, irritated, and rude. She then pressed the phone into the hands of a gentleman. This man spoke to me in a normal manner and offered a suitable solution for ordering the wrong pizza. Fortunately, we received a new one. I hope this rude lady is reprimanded or fired!

Today I went to the kids' afternoon with my 3-year-old son and his friend and girlfriend. They loved being allowed to make their own pizzas. The staff were sweet and helpful. The menu concept for the parents was nice, and their order arrived at the same time as the kids' pizzas, so we all enjoyed it together. It was the first time at the kids' afternoon, but certainly not the last.

Restaurant section: simply good on all fronts. I want to highlight the little shop next door. Beautiful products, and I mean REALLY beautiful. The price/quality ratio is excellent. The wines are, without exception, beautiful. A nice, sweet lady in the shop who takes the time to talk about food and drink. They know exactly where every product comes from. So what you buy comes with a story too, if you are interested in that!

The best and coziest pizzeria in all of Leiden. I have been going there since 1981, when I was studying in Leiden.

We had Branka as our hostess. What an incredibly sweet woman and mega hospitable! I recommend everyone to grab a bite to eat here; great atmosphere, incredibly delicious food, and super hospitality!

If you can eat at Is Morus, you know it's always going to be good. The atmosphere is excellent, as is the food. It's good food for a very good price. I would recommend it to everyone.

The food was great. However, the chair my daughter was sitting on was bumped into four times by staff because it's so compact/small. And when you order a soft drink, you get a glass with it already poured. It feels more comfortable/familiar to have your bottle delivered to your table and see/know what you're pouring. Now it's like they have a Coke bottle and are pouring it.

This was my second time eating here. It's always packed, and that's understandable. This restaurant understands how to be successful. Great food, perfect, fast, and friendly service, all for a very reasonable price. Now, that's how it's done. Kudos to the entire crew, and we'll see you next time!

The only downside is that we were asked almost every five minutes if we needed more drinks, and the starters weren't all served at the same time. It's a good idea to book a table in advance, as it's always very busy here on weekends!

On December 13, 2025, I ate calzone no. 18, which was now super rich and full of flavor! Yesterday I had another one, what a disappointment! It was very sparsely filled with cheese on the right and some ham on the left. After searching carefully, I couldn't find some bell pepper slivers or the fish, unfortunately. When I mentioned it, the reaction was, "Oh, what a shame."

The food here is always delicious...I always come here from Bergschenhoek.

Nice place, nice space, but the food was disappointing. This is supposed to be "the Italian restaurant of Alphen," but I found it quite disappointing. I've been there twice, and the first time I had a lasagna, which was so small, I finished it in a few bites. Such a shame if you're still hungry after dinner. And the second time I had a much-overcooked steak with gorgonzola sauce that was cold. Not great. I did pay a hefty price, though.

A place where you can enjoy delicious Italian pizza. They also have other dishes like spaghetti and other pastas. They also have delicious desserts like ice cream. It does take a while to get served, though, as it's often busy.

Looking for a restaurant near the theater, I ended up here. Everything was perfect, from start to finish. The welcome and service were very friendly, the food arrived shortly after ordering, and it was delicious. It was also very affordable. Highly recommended.

The food is excellent, the staff is friendly, and incredibly fast. So fast that you're quickly "done" and out the door again. Our order was wrong twice, but this was promptly resolved, and the bill was adjusted without any hassle.

We've eaten here a few times now and have always enjoyed it. Always busy and almost full, but no long waits! An extensive menu with delicious Italian food!

Always delicious food and great staff! The difference between 2019 and 2025 is enormous. The food is fine, but it's so noisy, and the staff is completely unresponsive. I ordered a case of water, and the waiter immediately left. So I couldn't order a glass of wine or anything else, and the person I was with hadn't even had a chance to say what they wanted.

I went out for dinner last Wednesday to celebrate graduating and ended up at Is Morus. It turned out to be a fantastic choice! The service was excellent: incredibly friendly, with an open attitude, and easy to talk to. The food was also definitely delicious, and the prices were very reasonable! The icing on the cake was a festive cake (a lemon, surrounded by whipped cream) as a congratulatory gesture—for me, the real highlight of the day. So, once again, to the lovely waitress who arranged this: thank you so much!

I ordered pickup yesterday, and it was supposed to be ready at 7:00 PM. I arrived at 6:55 PM and was told it would be ready in about 10 minutes, but it wasn't until 7:20 PM that the order was ready. We would have appreciated a call to let us know the order wouldn't be ready at 7:00 PM, but later. My burrata wasn't there either, but luckily I realized this quickly, so I went back inside. The pizzas themselves were delicious, but I wasn't so impressed with the service.

You step in and think, how nice… Waiters speak Italian, the guy behind the oven making the pizza also. So you think - this going to be molto buono -> in short not so molto buono. The focaccia tasted like defrosted bread, stale and dry. One of the pizza’s had a hair baked in it. When the owner heard this when asking us if we wanted to take the pizza’s home, all he did was put on a frustrated face and took the plates away. No apology, no further questions on how to make it right, nothing… That kind of summarizes this dinner it was pretty worthless, I think the many house flies that kept on landing on the drinks and food enjoyed it the most.

What a disappointment... we thought we would celebrate our wedding anniversary in a nice way, we have been coming here for 13 years. We had made a reservation so that should be fine... not so! We were taken to some kind of attached room, a small table half against the wall and curtain. The pizza calzone was tasteless and I left it after a few bites. My husband had the pasta olio aglio peperoncino.... as bland as a towel. The door we were half sitting in front of was opened because people were hot... we were blown away by a cold wind. We left everything there and paid... done with it!! Lost customer is Morus.... Afterwards we got some fries at Bram Ladage...

Had dinner here on a regular Thursday evening. Luckily I had made a reservation because the place was full. Very busy, so a lot of noise. I wouldn't have a romantic dinner for 2 here. It takes a long time for your order to be taken, but once that has happened your food comes very quickly. The seasonal garnish consisted of 6 halved cherry tomatoes and the service did not indicate that pasta or something similar was not served with the meat and fish. Once home I saw that this should have been ordered separately. Missed opportunity by the restaurant. Desserts were excessive, so that still satisfied my hunger somewhat. Quality of the food is good.

Really a fan of is morus normally unfortunately tonight was disappointing. Soggy pizza that fell apart and was folded, and the 2nd pizza tasted different than normal (less cheese maybe), next time better!

Is Morus. Special...delicious freshly prepared food, you really feel like you are in Italy. People also speak Italian, some English, but very nice, the garden is also very cozy. In short, a nice family restaurant with freshly prepared Italian food, a must to eat there once. It also seems small from the outside, but it is a nice large restaurant with different rooms. Wonderful pizzeria in the middle of Alphen aan den Rijn. Thin, super tasty pizza, large selection. Super tasty original spaghetti carbonara. We made reservations in advance but were delayed due to traffic jams but called. Although the restaurant was full to the last seat, they simply postponed our reservation accordingly so that we were still able to enjoy the evening in a great atmosphere despite the delay. Great restaurant, absolutely recommended.
