Had a fantastic evening! The best tomato soup I have ever eaten, truly delicious. The pizza was fantastic too. The service was superb and incredibly friendly; every single one of them lovely people. Everything was perfect. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a truly delicious meal here. The pizzas were great, they serve a huge glass of red wine and divine homemade tiramisu. Friendly service too. Highly recommended!

I walked past it three times and then finally stopped in. The simplest things are often the best. We had a delicious meal. A fantastic antipasti platter with everything you could wish for. The pasta was very tasty, and the service was very friendly and attentive. You really feel valued as a guest. Highly recommended! :)

Just bad, not great either. It was nice that a real Italian family works there, but unfortunately, after about a 5-minute drive back to my holiday cottage, the pizza was no longer nice and warm, just cold.

The drinks were way too expensive; we paid €3.50 for 0.2 liters, and it wasn't even a proper Coke—it tasted cheap. What was completely unacceptable was that the waiter was just about to take our order. The pizza was delicious but also very expensive!

We ordered two pizzas online for pickup...the order was ready right on time and everything was as ordered 👍 The crust was delicious and crispy, and the pizzas were very tasty overall 👌🤤💯 We will definitely order food from here again on our next vacation, or perhaps eat in. The staff were all very friendly and immediately knew what I ordered without any fuss, and the pizzas were brought directly from the kitchen to me. Everything was top-notch. However, the restaurant's ambiance is a bit dated and doesn't really appeal to modern tastes. Nevertheless, it's highly recommended for a delicious meal 👍

Friendly restaurant, wide selection of pizzas. The pizza has an excellent crust, Neapolitan style, topped with cheap ingredients.

Delicious pizzas, but incredibly late delivery. I ordered 4 pizzas at 5:30 to have them delivered at 6:45 PM. At 7:15 PM I called; it’s busy. They arrived at 7:35 PM, and by then they were cold. No excuse, nothing. And that is not the first time.

I ordered a pizza for takeaway via Lieferando. The process was smooth. The pizza was ready for pickup at the agreed time. The pizza itself is okay, but nothing special as described in other reviews. It's alright, but not a must-try.

I always get the pizza from Bergen! Truly one of my favorite pizzas in the Netherlands. It is topped with pesto, juicy tomatoes, thick pieces of bacon, and arugula. It is usually generously topped, sometimes suddenly a little less, but then you are really out of luck ;) Pickup from Schoorl is always possible within fifteen minutes. Years ago, I also ate in the restaurant once, and that was good too.

The food was delicious. We had the cannelloni with spinach and blue cheese, lasagna bolognese, and pizza with Parma ham. The flavor was very rich; I would definitely recommend eating here.

I can't comment on the atmosphere, as we ordered delivery. You can tell that Italians with heart are at work here! The pizza was excellent, and the Bolognese was superb. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful – we had some trouble finding the address for our Landal park, and the poor people were out for ages. We will definitely eat here again when we're in the area.

I had fish pizza with my partner at La Grotte. What a disappointment! The restaurant looks neat, but a bit too brightly lit. The pizzas were well-cooked and hot, but otherwise poorly filled and tasteless. No tasty, full Mediterranean flavors, and little "frutti di mare" (sea fruit). The service was friendly, but the chef had no understanding of our tastes. He had "40 years of experience."

One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever found while traveling around Holland... excellent service and hospitality, very comfortable atmosphere and fantastic food... for us Italians it's like eating at home, truly compliments, I will return again with absolute certainty.

We came here spontaneously and reserved a table for two, and we were absolutely delighted! Friendly service, very reasonable prices, and the pizza was huge! The tomato soup starter was also very good. However, I had imagined the baked asparagus differently. Nevertheless, a very good Italian restaurant at a very good price. We will definitely eat here again next time.

Despite the fresh and delicious food, we definitely won't be returning. The chef was clearly disrespectful and condescending. It's a shame, as the food was good, but the way he treated us was a complete no-go for us.

Yesterday I got two pizzas from La Grotta. The restaurant looks neat, and despite being quite busy, the pizzas were ready quite quickly. The pizzas were delicious, tasty, not rock-hard, with a light crust and a light crust. Perhaps a bit sparsely topped, but that seems to be typical of Italian pizzas. The only downside was that the owner/host looked like he'd eaten a lemon, but that could also be because a few takeaways suddenly showed up while it was already quite busy inside.

My favorite restaurant at the moment. Friendly staff, great food and wine selection, all at an affordable price. See you again soon.

The worst Italian restaurant I've experienced in the last 40 years. Completely uninspired Italian salad. Wines by the glass: either red or white?? Water prices €7.75/bottle, completely exorbitant. Service relatively uninterested.

We've been coming to this cozy, friendly restaurant for years. The ambiance is inviting, and you can immediately tell that the owners put their heart and soul into their restaurant. There's not much to say about the food... the pizza is perfect! Large, crispy, generously topped, and everything fresh! They also offer delicious bread and butter beforehand, and the homemade tiramisu for dessert rounds everything off perfectly. It's now our regular pizzeria, and we always enjoy coming back.

The food was decent (portions weren't huge, the calzone was good), but the atmosphere and conviviality were lacking. I saw a waitress pop a pimple on the chef's arm in the kitchen; we were crammed in the back among the boxes and loaves of bread. The salad was more of a side dish than a meal. They didn't bother to ask for drinks. In short, the food was decent but limited, but the atmosphere was lacking. We were out within the hour.

Upon arrival, we were given a table for six, even though there were seven of us and a toddler. Not a problem per se; you could call it cozy. If only this table hadn't been surrounded by boxes, and on the other side, all the herb butters and such that came with the (also delicious) bread were already laid out. It felt a bit like being tucked away. In our opinion, the food was mediocre. Unfortunately, the pasta, pizza, main course salad, and salmon were very disappointing. The waitresses, on the other hand, were very friendly and helpful, so I can't say anything bad about that.

We were a large group, had made reservations in advance, but were pushed into a small room at the back. The food was mediocre, the service was terrible. We never had to ask for refills on drinks, etc.

We were craving pizza and decided to eat here. Now, I'm not a picky eater, but the pizza was a huge disappointment. It had little to no flavor, and the tomato sauce on the pizza base was watery. My girlfriend had a seafood pasta dish. The sauce there was also watery, and the flavors were lacking. The service was reasonably good, although we got the impression they were eager to clear the table quickly for the next guests, which made it feel a bit rushed. All in all, we have no reason to ever eat here again.

Everything top notch I highly recommend it!

It's certainly convenient to have an Italian restaurant next to your vacation rental, allowing you to quickly order something to take away. My daughter, who's an expert on this, rated the spaghetti Bolognese as tasty, and the vegetarian lasagna was also very good. Unfortunately, the calzone didn't quite measure up to the taste.

Came in at 20:30, asked if my partner and I could still eat something. Without a smile we were told that it is possible, but we close at 21:00. While the site says 21:30. Ordered food, Calzone and a pasta carbonara. On the table within 10 minutes. Cazone, dough was not completely cooked, no taste and cheap ingredients. Spaghetti Carbonara, zero taste and prepared with cream, so not a real carbonara. Fat from the cream was flaking. If you are in the area, I would look for another alternative.

Super delicious pizza...wonderful.

Ate there twice, both times satisfied. The Sardinian pizza was very tasty, as was the pasta with vegetables. The burrata pizza was also very good. The only criticism was that the rosé wine glass was a little less full than the red wine. Attentive service.

Friendly, average decor. We ordered two pizzas to go, and they were ready quickly. Generally, we felt the crust and sauce weren't spicy or salty enough, but that's a matter of taste. We didn't think the price was entirely justified, as I had to hunt for the anchovies and carp on my Napoli. We don't necessarily need to have them again.

We were there for dinner last night. Very nice atmosphere. Food very disappointing. The noodles in both dishes were cooked far too soft and the chicken was very dry. I have never had tagliatelle with creamed spinach at an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately the mixed salad wasn't dressed at all. Only received vinegar and oil upon request.

After waiting a while for a spot (not reserved) it was worth it. Tasty calzone and super tasty vegetarian lasagna.

Saturday evening around half past seven we had our first dinner at La Grotta in a pleasant crowd. We took a pizza Ferrari and a pizza Feyenoord 🫣 and that for an Ajax player. She tasted delicious. Point of criticism, please clean the toilet seat of the ladies' toilet. Looks so sloppy.

Order placed, nice delivery person and fast service. However, pizza and lasagna tasted exactly the same and that was actually bland, unfortunately.

Pizza Calzone Ciou Ciou was tasty except for the dry (not fresh) shawarma. There was no taste to it. Friendly help.

Food was fine, service disinterested

Mixed reviews, then it remains a challenge to eat there. Conclusion, we are very pleasantly surprised, very friendly people in the service, the food was more than good. It's been a long time since I've had a perfect scaloppina gorgonzola, but what was served here was more than I expected. The quality of everything on the table was more than good and certainly very fresh. Our compliments, we will definitely come back here again!
