Huge portions and nice servers!

The mochi was indeed handcrafted. It looked beautiful. The wait was a bit long but that's probably because of the Matcha cheesecake I ordered. This was frozen on the inside, unfortunately, and did not have much Matcha nor cheesecake taste. The mochi's filling was a kind of whipped cream, which was ok, not too sweet or fat, but it didn't have any taste. The outside was Sakura flavor. Yes, the flavors were very noticeable but they tasted artificial, and there was too much sugar in it. Normally, sugar is added to compensate for something, like the acidity of fruit inside mochi, but because the filling was neutral, the skin was overwhelmingly sweet. Of course, when you drink a soft drink the sweetness will seem less.

Best curry in the Netherlands! It really tastes like the curry you get in Japan. You can easily order via the ordering post, and you can get your drinks yourself. The staff are very friendly and the food always comes quite quickly. The portions are very large, but you can always ask for a goody bag! (The curry still tastes just as good the next day) The restaurant is wheelchair friendly if you sit downstairs. Recommended: Naan with curry and cheese and the curry with pork belly, medium spicy level, normal sweetness level and extra cheese!

Insane that of all places, I found decent Japanese curry in Amsterdam lol. Lovely food, definitely give it a try. Can’t tell you if this is priced well or not since I’m not from here. Not too spicy, just like most Japanese curry. I didn’t think the mochi was worth it.

I can only judge the Mochis. Mochis are large and taste a little different than expected. It wasn't bad, you can try it out but the price is a bit expensive.

It claims to be a Japanese curry house, it even says so in the doorway, but it's actually one of those places that just sells a conglomerate of any Asian food. Nothing wrong with that but the name suggests they have any Specialization intention over curry when they don't. Additionally, their curry was too heavy, it made me sick. There is no heating and the door is wide open, so when I went in march, it was freezing inside, everyone had their big coats on. No one greets you at the door, there isa. QR code on your tablr, you order and pay with it, and a human, who might as well be a robot, brings you your order, there is no human interaction. That is a lie, often, the waiters didn't know what table something was for and they would have to ask around. All around a let down.

I love this place! I went there mainly to try their Japanese cotton candy cheesecake! First I had a vegan sandwich, the bread was the freshest and the most fluffy sandwich bread I've ever had! It was delicious, then I returned with a friend of mine to try the Mochi, I had Sakura mochi with tea! The mochi was ok, but I bought 2 of their cotton candy cheesecakes as take away! I tried them at home and they were delicious! The texture, the taste, everything great! I loved it! 😋

The food was delicious. The place however was very cold. The heater was definitely not turned on.

My little one and I had dinner at curry house yesterday. Shortly afterwards we both got super sick and have been vomiting all night!! I have never gotten so sick from food. 1+1 is not 3, something was seriously wrong with the food👎

We have been here twice now, both occasions for the iced mochi which we absolutely love. Also tried the Japanese cake which was also quite nice.

The toilet facility is somewhat hidden and can be reached via stairs. Apparently there was no other way up. This is particularly impractical in urgent cases and offers less accessibility. You should also note that there is a fee for use if you are not a customer of the company. The upper floor, where the toilets are located, is partly used as a storage room. Some visitors may find this annoying. Despite these negative aspects, the toilet itself was very clean. There were no dirt on the floor and it was pleasant to use. The provision of paper towels is also worth highlighting.

"Life is too short for bad food." Anything but recommended! My vegetarian meal left more than a lot to be desired and was served in an unspeakably careless manner. The tofu was surrounded by thick and greasy layers of breading, which spoiled my appetite. I wasn't even offered a fork. My dish contained (Danish) sweet cucumbers from the jar as well as other ingredients that had no place there. One couldn't help but feel that leftovers should be thrown away. The waitress didn't even ask if I liked it. The furnishings are largely styleless and kitschy. Apparently tourists like to be ripped off here.

We recently dined here, and ordered the Japanese curry with katsu chicken, vegetables and rice. Unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations. While we appreciate the restaurant's cute decor, the curry itself was underwhelming. The sauce lacked the depth and complexity of authentic Japanese curry, tasting somewhat artificial and resembling a packet mix. Its gluggy texture was off-putting. The chicken cutlet was also processed and lacked flavor. We did appreciate the rice and vegetables, but they weren't enough to save the dish. If you're new to Japanese curry, you may find it enjoyable. However, for those familiar with the authentic flavours and textures, it might not quite meet expectations.

The curry is always super tasty! Not many seats though and can get loud due to all the doors and windows being opened towards the “mall”

Tasty food, lots of choice and friendly staff. Ordering is done via kiosk or QR code, after which the food is delivered to the table relatively quickly. Reasonable prices. Nice interior and good location in the market hall. Mochis are definitely recommended.

Really good hand crafted mochis with a lot of tastes. The price is a little bit high but the quality is very good.

You have to try the Katsu sando! It’s a must! So delicious! And don’t forget to pick up a mochi!

The restaurant is really beautifully decorated. The mochi's were delicious and refreshing at the same time. However, the price is gigantic for this little snack.

Recommendable place. The food is really good, many different options to choose from and to adjust your dish. I appreciate how the rice is made. Also handmade mochis were really a great surprise. Big and tasty. Interior is really nice as well. Already have been there couple of times and can genuinely recommend.

Very nice find! The Katsu Curry is amazing, specially given the fact that you can customise it, including spice levels, sweetness and veggies . My girlfriend ordered the vegetarian dumplings Katsu and loved it as well!

The process of ordering mochi + tea is very complicated - WHY do I have to pay in one place for mochis that are being brought to the table, AND separately self serve with a machine to get a tea also brought to the table…? Why can’t I order both a mochi and a drink TOGETHER as one process? Also, you should not call mochis “vegan” if they have egg and dairy in them and the only difference vs the regular one is no pork gelatine. Halal does not mean vegetarian and for sure does not equal vegan. Quite some room for improvement…

I only had two of there mochis. One with matcha and the other sakura flavoured. The sakura flavoured mochi didn’t taste of much but was fine. The matcha mochi solid hard and not stretchy as a mochi should be. Ruined the experience as the mochi was comming apart in hard flaky chunks. The staff were nice.

Curry was OK taste like the same curry you can get from the Asian supermarket. Just find it insane they charge like €0.20 extra for each level of spice/sweet addition.

Beautiful aesthetic dining spot and great for content! Super friendly service and I immediately ordered 2 plates since I am not from the area. No regrets love it

The most disgusting thing I have eaten, I ordered a curry and cheese naan bread. It was literally dough with a cheese slice on it. And put in the oven. Food had no taste at all. Really not worth your money at all. Went with a group, no one enjoyed it.

The kids portions went from 6 € to 9€ in less than half a year. That's ridiculous

Japanese curry restaurant inside the Markethall. Order only from a fast food terminal Plenty of tables inside to sit at. A waiter brought our food to the table. Dishes cost around ten euros each and you can choose toppings and your level of spice (I don't like it when it's spicy but the medium spicy isn't spicy enough either for me who likes a little character) Good price/quantity ratio but qualitative level I am not convinced. The rice was okay but the sauce was thick but not enough flavor or little vegetables to flavor everything. The vegetable gyozas on the other hand I really liked. Many choices of frozen mochi for dessert but I prefer them unfrozen so I haven't tried them.

Rice is important in Japanese curry, but it was a bit disappointing. Fried shrimp was dry… But price is friendly.

Got a mocchi here. Not cheap but the taste was definitely amazing. Would come back.

It's obviously a pre-made dish and then heated in a microwave or air fryer. The pork chop's dough was very thick, and the seasoning of both the pork chop and the curry was very average. The waiter's attitude was also very indifferent. And it’s -5 degrees outside the heating is low. Selling it for 13.5 euros, why don't you just grab the money? Strongly not recommended

If you never eat Japanese curry, then you might think this place serves delicious curry. It is an ok, fast food style Japanese curry place. However, if you are looking for authentic tasty Japanese curry with juicy tender katsu on top, then this is not the place. The mochi dessert was good.

For it's location it also have affordable prices. And the interior is really lovely and spacious. You can tell they paid great attention to it. The food itself wasn't that spectacular. It was not good, not bad. Nothing special. Will I visit again, well, I'm still curious what kind flavor impact their curries hold.

The softest mochi with the most tender taste I have ever had

It’s a little bit overpriced but other than that it’s good! I don’t recommend adding vegetables to the curry because it’s overpriced for what they add!

Het eten was erg lekker en ook nog schattig in elkaar gezet. Het drinken moest je zelf pakken maar er was heel veel keuze. Het personeel was vriendelijk en het interieur was zeer mooi en schoon.

I went here for lunch and wasn’t that hungry but i was craaaving this somehow. I got me a kids meal cuz I wasn’t that hungry, it was so cute. Even the kids meal filled me up😭🙏 The rice was sooo good and i never had curry before but it was delicious asfuck. I also got the naan with it!!! Would def recommend and visit again

Dure mochi gegeten die niet lekker waren. Slechte kwaliteit, niet traditioneel. Weinig bonen voor een mochi. Op de rest weinig aan te merken.

Alleen een yuzu en een groene thee mochi gehad. De yuzu was lekker fris, maar de groene thee erg droog. Voor alleen de mochi vond ik het niet waard.

Gute Mochis, jene mit Matcha waren sehr deftig und die Creme fett, jedoch gut im Geschmack und die Klassischen hatten eine tolle Fülle, jedoch war der Teig noch hart/ein wenig gefroren.

Katsu sandwich absolutely banging anda also at a fair price, strongly reccommend if you like japanese food

Heel mooie, verzorgde, hygienische zaak. Interieur is leuk, met een artificiele boom als centerpiece. Je kan er leuk zitten, ook een verdieping hoger. Het etennwas super! Heel smaakvol, goed bereid en niets op aan te merken!

Essen konnte man an einem Display zusammen stellen und bestellen/bezahlen. Das Essen wurde frisch und schnell zubereitet. Mega lecker 😋 Das Restaurant ist sehr sauber und stilvoll eingerichtet.

Super hungry after roaming around this city. Came here to get some hearty comfort food in Markethal. You use the kiosk to order. I ordered the Japanese Curry with Chicken Katsu and Cheese. Found a table and shortly after the food came out. The food was super hot, you could see the steam coming up. Totally crushed the food and nice to find some good Japanese curry in Rotterdam.

I was not disappointed the vegan chicken curry and the naan were so delicious. A very good place too.

Great taste Japanese curry! I like their rice too - matches super well with curry. Green tea mochi is also nice. I fill like the fried pork could be better though. But already very satisfying! Friendly and helpful staff is a plus :)

Zeer vriendelijke personeel, super lekker eten! Ze waren ook zeer snel, maar alles was vers. We zaten hier om 'zomaar' even wat te eten, het was erg lekker! Aankleding achterin was niet erg super maar het voldeed!

I craved curry on a cold day today and I decided to try the Japanese Curry House and it was amazing. Ordering is super easy using the self service machine, choosing your order number and then siting anywhere and wait. Staff is lovely and very polite. I had their best seller and it hit the spot exactly as I needed: The choosy chicken breast curry with rice! Great choice. I also decided to try their handmade mochi which was the best part of my meal! I struggled to find good mochi in Rotterdam and now this will be my favourite place to get mochi. I tried the tiramisu one which is a more Dutch interpretation of the mochi filling (meaning there was whipped cream inside) rather than the Italian or even Japanese way but I like a mix of cultures so super tasty and flavourful. I highly recommend this place. The price is also reasonable
