Sumo Oriental in Kralingen-Crooswijk

Bij binnenkomst moesten we even wachten. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen en mochten zelf een tafel uitkiezen. Op een vrijdagmiddag hadden we hier wel wat meer gasten verwacht, maar we bleven de enige tijdens de lunch. Het eten was prima. Alles smaakte vers en de kwaliteit was goed. De gerechten werden snel geserveerd en zagen er netjes uit. Wat wel opviel, is dat je per ronde maar twee gerechten mag bestellen. Dit voelt wat beperkt, zeker in vergelijking met andere sushi-restaurants. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is minder goed. Voor €39,50 per persoon verwacht je meer keuzevrijheid en een uitgebreidere ervaring. Hoewel de kwaliteit in orde was, voelt het te duur voor wat je ervoor terugkrijgt. De zaak zelf is modern en netjes ingericht, en de bediening was vriendelijk en attent. Het enige minpunt was het toilet, dat wel wat meer aandacht had mogen krijgen. Al met al: prima eten en goede service, maar te duur en te beperkt in keuze om een echte aanrader te zijn.

Hele slechte sushi , we hebben er niet van genoten. In vergelijking met andere sumo restaurants was dit heel slecht. We hadden onbeperkt sushi genomen. Het assortiment was zo beperkt we waren in shock. We hadden zoveel honger dat we geen luxe meer hadden om op te staan. We mochten maar 2 gerechten per ronde kiezen. Wat je normaal bij andere Sumo restaurants 5 mag kiezen. Voor desserts moesten we 5€ extra betalen.

Zeer verheugd om vrienden kennis te laten maken na goede ervaringen met eigen gezin. Zeer chaotisch, waren met een groep van 13 pers. Sommige tafelgenoten hebben, na tegelijkertijd besteld te hebben, bijna uur op 1e ronde moeten wachten. Bestelling werd ook vaak overgeslagen waardoor er sommige samen te eten en anderen ruim half uur tot uur niets kregen. Reden: de keuken is druk ze doen hun best. Dat snappen wij zeker maar een grote groep moet je aankunnen, zoniet geef het eerder aan! Rekening spiltten door 6 koppels en 1 persoon lukte niet, was echt een probleem. Nog nooit eerder meegemaakt. Drank zou even apart genoteerdcen betaald moeten worden. Grote groepen helaas geen succes. Erg jammer!

I’m Disappointed 😣 This is my first time at Sumo Oriental and the last time. I usually went to the Sumo in Markthal. If you choose « All you can eat» I believe that the customer is king. He has the right to settle for this service option, no more, no less. They make you feel like you're a bad customer because you don't want to drink anything. They bother you 7 or more times with the same question. This is called a sales strategy (Forcing), a sales strategy forcing you to have a drink in order to pay more. It's as if the €40 we paid was a favor on their part! . and the waiters don't smile, and the little girl who keeps whispering and making faces (because it's terrible not to ask for a drink 😱😱😱) there was only one who was kind and smiled, he deserved a tip for his good behavior. The customer is king and free to consume what he wants. Stop your forcing sell.& 🙂SMILE . Because you scare away people who have their own habits and choices.... We were even 3 people, but you were very disappointed with €119. You thought you had lost the prices of drinks. But NO, you lost customers who maybe next time would also drink a few things. I will come back to Sumo Markthal, for me the service is better and I have more choice and freedom.

Delicious food! Salmon sashimi are nice and thick slices that melt when you bite them! You can taste that it is fresh! In addition, the lamb chops are very tasty! At first the food came to the table quickly and later at more intervals. Staff is friendly and the plates are nicely laid out. The restaurant looks attractive. There is also a terrace. You can also choose soy sauce with less salt! The birthday boy or girl also eats for free (just check the conditions). This restaurant is absolutely great!

I have enjoyed eating and ordering since the store opened, but it is striking that the quality has deteriorated in the last year. Less fish in the sushi if you order at home. Hot dishes are delivered cold several times, and then you can get a 10 percent discount on a bill of 100 euros for the next time. There won't be a next time. Think it's a shame.

They didn't accept us because one part of the family wanted it free and the other wanted it à la carte and the shoyu was strange

We enjoyed it as a family, the sushi was great, especially if you love sashimi. The meat was tender. The service was also smooth and friendly. We will definitely come back for this.

Been a few times and had a great meal every time. What I like about Sumo oriental is that the portions are slightly larger and slightly different than the standard all you can eat. The food is also nicely seasoned. For me as a critical food judge, that says a lot. The restaurant also looks neat and the staff is very friendly. Definitely recommended and they will see me again soon.

It was inedible! Really low quality food. Watery chicken, very little sushi choice. What you get is rice with mayo. Have to wait half an hour between each round of all you can eat. I don't recommend it! Waste of money. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Tja sommige dingen waren gewoon echt niet gaat. Duurde ruim een half uur voordat er iemand kwam. Plus de hygiëne is toch wel ver te zoeken

I was disappointed with the food. Limited sushi offering, can't see any shrimp anymore. Very different concept than other Sumo Oriental, too bad they had to mention this on the site!!!! Many, many, many fewer species than at the market hall. Service was excellent, friendly staff, very nice people and fast, great Nice restaurant but not for an all you cab eat. Too many portions after 2 dishes per round after the 5th I also stopped and that was with difficulty.

Of all the all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in Rotterdam, I think this is the best. Sushi and sashimi are of high quality and that also applies to the other dishes. Menu is less extensive than elsewhere but certainly diverse. Dessert is unfortunately not included. Case looks nice and is not too big. Service could be a bit friendlier, but they do their best.

Where to start; everything was so great from start to finish! The food was delicious and the service was remarkably attentive, friendly and hospitable. I also spoke to the manager and she was radiant with passion and pleasure. We enjoyed! Thank you for a great evening. 👍🏻

Ik heb hier lekker gegeten samen met mijn vrienden. Het eten was lekker en beter dan de gemiddelde all you can eat tent. De bediening was wel traag.

The order for pick-up was not ready until an hour after the agreed time. In the meantime, it would have been better to make the sushi yourself😅

De lekkerste sushi in Rotterdam en omgeving, dus zeker de moeite om hier te komen. Het is alleen jammer de de prijzen teveel omhoog zijn gegooid en dat ook nog niet dat de porties kleiner zijn, de ingrediënten goedkoper worden en dat er ook andere ingrediënten gebruikt worden dat is aangegeven. Voorbeeld is groene asperges met beef eromheen. Was altijd een hele asperge en nu krijg je halve asperges. Zonde. Ook jammer is dat het getapte bier vaak heel karig in het glas zit. De bediening is echt wel zeer prima.

Gereserveerd voor 4 personen bij Sumo. Bij aankomst blijkt er geen plek voor ons te zijn. Dit terwijl de reservering per mail was bevestigd. “sorry, helaas. Dit gebeurt af en toe” en “volgende keer moet u ook maar even extra bellen”.

Dry air that is too warm in winter (room is heated with hot air heaters), making you more susceptible to cold. Service takes a very long time. We only did 3 rounds and each time we had to indicate that the card was ready to be picked up. Oil is still dripping from the fried dishes... Sushi did look fresh. Price/quality is not proportional.

1e keer zijn we geweest. We hadden gereserveerd. Vriendelijke jonge medewerkers. Bestelling gaat dmv kaart, zelf je wensen turven. Dot gaat wel snel. Het is lekker. De enige wat we misten was komkommers.

Вся еда очень вкусная, персонал очень скучный, у них на лице написано что они очень устали от этой работы а так быть не должно! Спасибо только менеджеру которая я надеюсь поняла всю ситуацию и пошла нам на уступки.

Goede kwaliteit eten in een leuk nieuw concept.

Jammer! Het eten is superlekker. Vers, goed bereid en aandacht aan besteed. Het personeel kan geen lach vanaf en is zelfs onvriendelijk. Dat de voltallige keuken ook nog naast onze tafel ging zitten eten was een aparte ervaring. Nooit meegemaakt dat de bediening meer eet dan de gasten zelf. Ook de sluittingstijd om 22:00 maakt dat je nauwelijks tijd hebt voor een ijsje of koffie na. Ze zouden veel beter kunnen!

Wij komen hier heel vaak een van de beste sushi zaken van rotterdam!

Laatst hier geweest met een groep. Zeer fijne restaurant met betrokken personeel. Vanwege bepaalde dieetwensen van andere personen waren ze zeer betrokken om de vragen te beantwoorden en hen te hulp te staan. Klasse. Enige minpunt is het aantal aanbod van de sushi. Deze was naar mijn beleving iets minder dan de overige filialen van Sumo. Voor de rest een zeer fijne restaurant.

Goed Sushi restaurant zoals het moet zijn. Geen tablet, gewoon een makkelijk papiertje. Top ervaring.

Veel bestelde gerechten niet gekregen er is geen controle over en de smaken waren minder als vorige x lijkt wel andere kok of zo

Echt heerlijke sushi. Vriendelijke bediening en een gezellig restaurant. Voldoende afwisseling en heerlijk van smaak.Dit restaurant is een dikke tien waard.

Eten was prima maar personeel is een dingetje... Tevens hele discussie over de leeftijd van onze zoon bij de nota omdat met niet wilde geloven dat hij nog maar 11 is in verband met de prijs van het eten. Kleine tip vraag vooraf de leeftijd van de kinderen. Nu werd het voorstel gedaan om voor een volwassene te betalen en dan konden we een mail sturen met een kopie van zijn id kaart zodat vervolgens besloten kom worden of we een bedrag terug konden krijgen... Hier zijn we niet mee akkoord gegaan en is totaal geen visite kaartje als je zo om moet gaan met een goede klant.

De beste Sushi. Deze sushi zaak heeft tenslotte verse zalm. En veel meer aparte sushi s. De beste tot nu toe. Service kan iets beter ook als het niet druk is.

Eten laten bezorgen. Duurde 1 uur 20 min. Eten koud, maar wel smakelijk. Misschien alleen op korte afstanden bezorgen?

Everything was amazing. Tasty, affordable food, normal sized portions and a very cozy atmosphere. Employees are nice and make you feel welcomed. Food is delivered very fast and is nicely decorated. I recommend the duck. It is cut perfectly and juicy. The same goes with beef.

It's nice that you can pick if you want 'all you can eat' or pay for dishes seperately

Geweldig gegeten top sushi restaurant

Beter dan de gemiddelde sumo. Wel vonden we dat de 2e en 3e rondes minder waren dan de 1e. Algemen indruk was prima. Voor herhaling vatbaar. Bij de vraag of alles naar wens was, gaven we onze opmerking aan, antwoord was dat de dan meer moesten variëren! Beetje lullig antwoord, maar goed.

Heerlijk gegeten, met fantastisch personeel en super snelle service. Als ik 6 sterren zou kunnen geven zou ik het doen!

Voor het eerst gegeten en gedronken bij Sumo Oriental op de Kortekade in Kralingen in Rotterdam. Vriendelijk ontvangen en gelijk een mooie tafel aangeboden met zicht op het kruispunt Kortekade-Oudedijk. Als oud-wijkbewoners gaf dit een extra goed gevoel. Gekozen voor het concept van 2,5 uur vrij kiezen vanaf de menukaart. Hier uitgebreid gebruik van gemaakt. Alle gerechten waren vers bereid en smakelijk. Het enige wat ons tegenviel was de smaak van de Italiaanse chardonnay uit Puglia. Niet echt een wijn, die een smaakbeleving geeft. Niettemin was het goed toeven bij Sumo en hebben we heerlijk gegeten. Je moet niet schrikken van de prijzen, want dat het best duur is, weet je als je daar gaat eten.
