Lovely place with delicious food and bubble tea

Whenever I have some free time before or after class, I love stopping by 📚🧋 Highly recommend trying their crème brûlée milk tea and fried mushrooms. The recent renovation has made the place much more enjoyable to get some work done and enjoy food :)

as a regular here, i can say with certainty this place is amazing!! it’s close to UvA, serves amazing food and drinks (dare i say best bubble tea in Amsterdam?), and the staff is super nice and welcoming! recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful lunch and a cozy place ＾＾

I've been a regular customer of this restaurant since 2025, making a point of eating here every time I'm in Amsterdam. I always considered it a five-star establishment and genuinely recommended it to friends. But today's meal was truly disappointing, even frustrating. First, the braised pork rice was noticeably smaller, and the toppings were reduced. I remember it usually included peanut powder, giving it a more complete aroma and flavor profile; but this time, it lacked the original flavor, and the braised pork was almost entirely lean, missing the rich, oily flavor and satisfying texture that braised pork rice should have. Then, the fried chicken was also significantly smaller than before. Even more disappointing was the almost complete absence of basil aroma; the first couple of bites tasted mainly of the fried batter, rather than the natural flavor and texture of the chicken itself. This is a far cry from my previous impressions of the restaurant. I can understand rising prices and increased costs, but if the price isn't low, and the portions are reduced, the toppings are fewer, and the taste has declined, it's hard for a regular customer not to be disappointed. I always thought I'd come back to Amsterdam every time I visited, but after eating here today, I'm starting to wonder: what reason could I possibly have to come back next time?

Went here with my Taiwanese friend who confirmed it’s authentic! We got scallion pancakes that were great. The chilli oil with it was so good! The drinks were the best part for me. I got the ‘milk cap’ boba that was amazing, could drink it forever. They had some cute little desserts too.

Love it! Tried fried chicken rice, beef shank and chicken gua bao here so far. It suits my taste perfectly, savory and mild spicy.

Taiwanese food is pretty good from a European perspective. The best dish is the braised beef shank, and the pearl oolong tea is also delicious. The staff are friendly because they speak Cantonese.

The fried chicken had red meat inside. When I asked the waiter, he said it was marinated. I asked Gemini if ​​marinated chicken is normally like this, and Gemini said it looked undercooked and if it were marinated, this area shouldn't be the only red part. Before, ordering rice included two side dishes, but now it's just a salad… it's getting further and further away from the authentic Taiwanese flavor. The egg pancake was the best; you can order it.

Slowly but surely working my way through the entire menu. It's always a shame when something runs out. My favorites are definitely the Creme Brulee Milk Tea and the Milk Cap Brown Sugar Bubble Tea, but actually, I haven't come across anything I don't like yet. I never thought I'd become a Boba girl, but it really is starting to look like it. The food is amazing too. Favorite lunch spot!

A fantastic cafe where I love to go! You can eat well here, both large and small dishes, great for sharing. The drinks are phenomenal, I'm totally converted to boba, girl.

The food is always on par; I recommend the noodles and scallion pancakes! The staff is nice and attentive, and the vibe is chill and comfy. Definitely best boba in the city!

If you're craving Taiwanese flavors, you absolutely must try this! 😍 I ordered grass jelly milk tea, gua bao (steamed buns), and a scallion pancake with an egg. - Grass Jelly Milk Tea: The tea flavor was strong, and it was delicious with fresh milk. The grass jelly itself was just okay, like the kind you find in old-fashioned beverage shops—not very springy. - Gua Bao: The pork was quite dry and very salty. It was served with pickled cabbage, peanut powder, and cilantro. The bao skin wasn't very springy, making it my least favorite dish today. - Classic Scallion Pancake: A Taiwanese-style scallion pancake, drizzled with garlic soy sauce, and perfectly pan-fried. It had a real breakfast shop vibe. If you want a scallion pancake with chicken or other fillings, you need to come before 6 PM. I ate there around 7 PM today. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and the wait for the food wasn't too long.

Such a great find (thanks to other reviewers)! Our last night on Amsterdam and I was in the mood for something Asian, Bao buns if possible - this little gem did not disappoint. We ordered the Gua Bao Bun, crispy chicken rice bowl (L) and shrimp dumplings which we shared between 2. Everything arrived perfectly presented and beautifully cooked. The flavour and textures were all perfect - crispy chicken, soft bao; sweet pulled pork and tangy dipping sauce. They don’t take reservations and had been busy when we arrived but we waited less than 10 minutes for a table and the food came quickly once we ordered. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something in the area.

The braised pork was served cold, extremely salty, and not properly prepared. It looked and tasted like leftovers rather than a freshly made dish. I couldn’t eat more than one bite. I raised this politely and asked to talk with a manager. The staff refused, told me I was not entitled to do so, and insisted that I had to pay for the dish before I could order anything else. I was also told the issue was “my personal problem,” and that this reflects their normal standard. No solution was offered. No right to speak to manager. Food issues can happen, but refusing escalation and handling concerns this way raises serious questions about Jen’s being. I won’t return.

I will never go back to this restaurant again because it was a very bad experience for us, sorry to say. I came with my partner and we were hungry. We ordered two drinks and two food items. The drinks came fast, but we waited almost 1.5 hours for our food to be served. We thought that the food was late due to many customers, but we saw other new people coming after us being served before our food. My partner tried to call the employee, but she did not hear us. So my partner went to the kitchen to ask about our food. The staff said that she "forgot to serve" our food, without even thinking to reheat it. You can imagine how the food looks like and the taste. The food came out super cold and far from crispy, unlike what was stated in the menu description. I asked them to reheat it because it was too cold to eat. She said that she could make it again, but we were very hungry after waiting for 1.5 hours, so how come that we want to waiting again? That's why we declined and just tried to eat the food cause we can't waiting no more. She came back with the reheated food, which had no crispy chicken or crepes at all. It was really disappointing. It was not worth it at all for me and my partner. So, make sure that they don't forget to serve you if you come to this restaurant if you think that you waiting too long, trust me 😆

Our time at Jen’s Bing has always been top tier! We ordered Classic Scallion Pancakes, the Scallion Beef Wrap and the Braised Pork Noodles. Together with a bubble tea, it was the best combination! Can’t wait to be back!

Came here twice, the first one the chicken pancake's sauce was tasty, but the second one hella salty, and we got heartburn afterwards. Their bao was tasty, personally it's tad bit too expensive for the size and the fillings. Also quite surprised that they asked for tip on their EDC machine when we pay with our card, other cafe we visited didn't have that option, this is not US and i feel somewhat mixed being asked for tip in Europe

Have been here for lunch a couple of times, and an occasional boba tea as a treat. Lovely people, tasty food, pleasant atmosphere.

We ordered pork noodles, braised pork rice, and gua bao (steamed buns). As a Taiwanese person, I must say the food was very authentic and tasted fantastic! The gua bao had perfectly balanced lean and fatty pork—super delicious! However, the waitress (a girl with a dragon tattoo on her back) was very rude. She practically threw the food away when serving it… Her attitude towards Europeans and Asians was also very different when it came time to pay. European customers would ask, "Is everything okay?" and leave with a "Have a good day!" When it was our turn to pay, because my friend and I decided to pay separately, she asked me, "Braised pork rice?" I said, "No, it's gua bao." She said dismissively, "Then call your friend to pay." There was no polite communication or inquiry during the food service and payment process. This was the first time I'd encountered such an attitude from a restaurant staff member abroad. I came to try Taiwanese food with a Japanese friend and a Taiwanese friend, and the staff's attitude was truly awful… One star is the unanimous rating from all three of us. It completely ruined our dining experience. Please, restaurant, address this issue! :)

Oh no… this meal cost €23.95! First of all, the presentation was terrible…! The rice was cold and dry… The meat was too juicy and salty, and all the side dishes were overly flavorful. I thought a bubble tea would solve everything! One sip, and it was practically water… The only redeeming quality was the tapioca pearls… In conclusion: I will never come here again! I mean it!!!

As a Taiwanese in Amsterdam I came here every week. This is one of the few authentic Taiwanese restaurants throughout the NL.

Phenomenal Boba. I would say it’s the most authentic and best in town. Also the Egg Pancakes are the best as well as the popcorn fried chicken. Was definitely a taste of home from Taiwan. 🇹🇼 Will always come back for more!

Came here twice during a 1 week trip in Amsterdam. The first was because we were craving Asian flavors after being without for 3 weeks. Had gua bao (pork belly and veg)a rice bowl, and a soy milk drink the first time. Service was good. Food was not bad. Flavors were all there. My husband didn’t really enjoy the rice bowl. I enjoyed the baos though! The 2nd time - service was worse. No pork belly at all (so no bao that I was craving). Which was okay. I ordered something else and a matcha latte. The matcha latte and the service I got after was terrible. I told the waitress that the matcha latte just taste like milk, no matcha. She had a confused irritated look on her face and was like really? It’s like she didn’t believe me and my taste. She then was like we usually don’t do anything because it’s powder so we can’t fix it? And that was weird because usually you just add more powder no? She decided to fix it for me and said more powder and milk was added. Unfortunately, it tasted the same - only like milk. I would’ve been fine if she was at least apologetic. I looked at past pictures of matcha latte here and it looks nothing like what I got. You can see from the photo that it’s a very light green - just by looking at it, I can tell it will be bland.

Cute, cozy spot for Taiwanese comfort food and bubble teas. I liked the little tables and chairs, the simple and minimalist plate wear the food was served on, and the cat logo of course 😸 I had the braised pork noodles with a side of chili crisp oil and marinated egg. It was tasty and easy. Egg was perfectly cooked. I also had the classic scallion pancake. Wasn’t too impressed with that one … would’ve preferred it to be more crispy, as it was more on the soft/soggy side. Would’ve really loved to have a bowl of Taiwanese beef noodle soup - but there weren’t any soup options at the time. Easy to order, just sit down anywhere and scan the QR code to place the order. Merch was cute, too. I picked up two retro postcards and two cat stickers.
