Jimix Bar Asian Kitchen in Centrum

On December 24, 2024, I went to Jimix Bar with my girlfriend and we had high hopes because it was well regarded everywhere as a high-quality restaurant with a good price/quality ratio, but nothing turned out to be (unfortunately) further from the truth. First I would like to mention that we were warmly welcomed in the restaurant. Our coats were duly accepted and we were kindly led to our table, where unfortunately we had to wait at least 20 minutes for our drinks to be taken. Once we had our drinks on the table and had ordered a few starters, we ordered a salmon fillet, sea bass, wagyu carpaccio and a stuffed eggplant, this eggplant was deep fried even though that was not on the menu. The wagyu carpaccio was finished in two bites, and this was a fairly expensive dish, the other dishes were very salty and very oily. The salmon fillet was one strip and the sea bass was a portion for one person, while their concept consists of food sharing. In the end, we were still very hungry after these dishes, so we decided to order lamb chops with a bowl of duck, which was mostly hard-boiled. We ended up paying 180 euros for two people and we left still hungry. I know restaurants where you pay 180 for 5 people and don't have to pick up another Turkish pizza because you still have a hole in your stomach. Still, I have to compliment the general atmosphere in the restaurant and how it is set up, but the 'food 2 share' concept does not work if it is all intensely small snacks and everything is very expensive.

*Simply great!* All I can say is that my experience here was simply outstanding! The *quality* of the products/services is excellent and the *service* is second to none. The entire team, including the *boss*, creates a really friendly and professional atmosphere. The *ambience* is also very inviting and pleasant. I would rate this place *10 stars* if I could - and that's not even enough! I am completely satisfied and can only warmly recommend this place. I'll definitely be back!

Food very expensive and quality nothing to write home about, I am sure I can prepare better meat on my BBQ. I'm really not a whiner, but if you pay €30 for 5 small pieces of rib eye then you can expect something. Prices start from around €20 and you can compare it with a tapas bar, so very expensive and the taste leaves much to be desired. We will never come back here again and would recommend not to do so. Ps, after a few dishes for €220, we walked to Loetje with 4 people to eat steak, much better quality and service 👌🥰

We had a delicious meal again at Jimix in Hilversum. We were spoiled again with the delicious dishes and wines of this fine restaurant. We really recommend the oysters! We took this twice, delicious. Not one dish disappointed, everything was fresh and tasty. We would like to come here again because the girls on staff are also extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

No regrets about our choices; all dishes were beautifully presented, and the staff was extremely friendly! Recommended: Dynamite Schrimps and for cocktail lovers choose the Pornstar Scroppino, it is really SUPER delicious🍸! Sushi: Wagyu beef roll was a 10/10 And for dessert: Mango Sticky Rice!! My husband and i had dinner at JiMIX a few night ago and we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was really well thought of by the owner and his team. Exquisite modern Asian flavors, with quality ingredients. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming, the service is hands on and fast. I would 100% recommend this restaurant!

After seeing many positive reviews on social media and Google, we decided to drop by this restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The first round we got sushi, but the rice was very cold. Then we had a salmon tartare that was also way too cold and had tomatoes in it - very strange for a salmon tartare. Next we got the gyozas, the filling of which was overcooked, and therefore very dry, and the outside was chewy. The prawns were heavily breaded and therefore not tasty. What did taste good were the duck pancakes. However, the fried rice didn't taste like ANYTHING... We decided to skip dessert. We paid €70 per person for disappointing food and mediocre wine. The service was good, friendly ladies at the counter, but that's not what you come for. We wonder if we ordered the wrong dishes, came on a bad day, or perhaps just had different expectations than most of the people who wrote rave reviews. Unfortunately, this is a one-time visit for us….

What a lovely experience dining here. Food is exceptionally good and loved the ambiance. Pwrfect for a date night or a family dinner!

Dishes look beautiful and taste good, but that was the only positive. Food was delivered far too quickly, we received 5 dishes in 80 minutes. You have to share this, that is their concept. Nice if you are a couple in love but not hygienic if you are 2 friends (corona, remember?) Furthermore, several dishes were so small that we each ordered a sushi roll. And then at the end being unpleasantly surprised for the price of water. Tap water in the Netherlands is €1.13 per 1000 liters and is better than what comes in a bottle. Jimix charges €8.00 per liter, which is outrageous. No, I'll never come here again. Too expensive, too little, fast food and expensive water.

We had dinner here on Saturday. Staff are very friendly. Dishes are particularly tasty!! Atmosphere is excellent. Recommended, we will definitely come back.

Wij hadden een giftcard en kozen voor Jimix. Wij mochten niet van de gewone kaart kiezen(terwijl giftcard geen speciale deal is oid) en kregen 3 mini gerechtjes anders en veel minder luxe geserveerd dan mensen die hetzelfde gerecht kozen van de gewone kaart. En laatste gerecht was fried rice NOT was gewone witte rijst met een lente uitje erdoor. Maar laten staan want om enkel een bord witte rijst te eten is echt raar en saai. Dus een giftcard NOOIT hier gebruiken

This entrepreneur does not have his affairs in order. 1. Food quality is mediocre. Only the tuna was good, the rest really substandard. While eating, we informed the waiter that we were not satisfied with the chicken dishes (too fatty). 2. Very long waiting times. After an hour we only received the first dishes. We have posted comments about this several times to the service. 3. Quantity/price ratio skewed. The portions are certainly far too small in relation to the price. 4. Prices online are still the old lower prices. At home, I looked at the online menu and made a reservation based on the dishes and associated prices. Afterwards we noticed that the prices on the receipt were a lot higher than on the online menu. Per dish often €2 and sometimes even €3 more. The entrepreneur then sent an email. We received an apology for the price differences, but the entrepreneur did not want to refund the difference to us. We certainly don't think this is neat and not customer-oriented. Of course we will never come back here again.

Deze ondernemer heeft zijn zaken niet goed voor elkaar. 1. Kwaliteit eten is matig. Alleen de tonijn was goed, de rest echt ondermaats. 2. Zeer lange wachttijden. Na een uur kregen we pas de eerste gerechtjes. 3. Kwantiteit/prijs verhouding scheef. De porties zijn zeker in verhouding tot de prijs veel te klein. 4. Prijzen online zijn nog oude lagere prijzen. Thuis op de online menukaart gekeken en op basis van de gerechten en bijbehorende prijzen een reservering gedaan. Achteraf viel ons op dat de prijzen op de kassabon een stuk hoger waren dan op de online menukaart. Per gerecht vaak €2 en soms zelfs €3 meer. De ondernemer hierop een mail gestuurd. Kregen wel excuses voor de prijsverschillen maar de ondernemer wil het verschil niet aan ons terugbetalen. Dit vinden wij zeker niet netjes en ook niet klantgericht. Uiteraard komen wij hier nooit meer terug.

Had dinner here with my girlfriend yesterday. The food was really great and the service was also great. Every dish we got was fantastic. The portions were good, everything seemed unique and tasted fresh. Highly recommended and will definitely come back here again!

The food was amazing. I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend and had the pleasure of experiencing Jim’s incredible and creative cooking. Jim categorizes his dishes into five different elements, each representing a different type of food. For instance, the element “water” is represented by fish dishes (sushi is separate from the elements though). We chose one dish from each element, except for water (because we wanted sushi). We were pleasantly surprised by both the presentation and the taste of the food. Everything was exceptional, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Jim also personally visited some tables to showcase and explain the dish which was really cool! We highly recommend this restaurant and will likely return to try more dishes in the future.

The food was certainly great and the service was very good. I do think the prices are very high for what you get. Quality is really good, but I think 28 euros for a tenderloin is a lot if you get 6 thin strips. Portions could be bigger for that price. We also had a bottle of plum wine. I normally pay around 25 euros for this in restaurants, and this was exactly the same bottle for 38 euros, while all the other wines on the menu had a very fair price. All in all, we had a very nice meal and enjoyed it.

Slightly expensive but very delicious and definitely worth it. Service is on point, very unusual for the Netherlands. Compliments to the chef and the waiters that are extremely professional and attentive. The food is really good.

Restaurant is pretty food tastes amazing only thing is that it is a bit expensive for what you get. It is a shared dining concept, but the portion is not big enough to share.

Appears to be excellent food. Although I freeze a bit at the first sentence 'are you already familiar with our concept'. That of course involves a lot of small snacks, etc. We ordered about 2 per person, and hoped for a table full of saucers and bowls, so that the four of us could eat real Asian food. However, we got everything per course. One saucer, from which we each had 1 or 2 bites of food, then waiting, and then the next bowl. After 4 of these 'courses' we asked if we could also get things at the same time. For example, sushi and edamame do not have to be in two separate courses. It was indicated that this was difficult due to crowds. I thought that was a bad reason! We pay a lot for it, and don't want to compromise on the quality of the evening due to 'busyness' (it wasn't that busy). We ended up getting the last courses at the same time, which was fine. Perhaps this is more the type of restaurant for a dinner for two, rather than with a family. The taste of the food was fine.

Het eten is waanzinnig lekker. We hadden de Tuna Tataki, Salmon tempura sushi, crispy chicken, ossenhaas, gyoza en cheesecake toe. Alle gerechten waren erg smaakvol/bijzonder lekkere smaaksensaties en tot in de puntjes verzorgd. De bediening uitermate gastvrij en vriendelijk en de wijnen waren verrukkelijk. Erg leuk dat de chef zelf ook even de tafels langskwam. We komen zeker terug, echt een aanrader.

Sufficient attentive staff. GREAT OUTING. Tips: there was plenty of room, don't put everyone so close together. Shared dining with 5 portions is a bit inconvenient (unless there are 5 people). The entrance to the restaurant is a bit hidden, but some color on the terrace will certainly help.

Wtwn was very tasty. The fried eggplant still had the 'stick' of the fruit. It was the tastiest of our 4 choices. We had 'the fork' discount, but otherwise quite pricey.

Jimix is ​​an attractive restaurant. They make a lot of use of plants in the interior and play pleasant background music. They have a menu with wide choice for wine, cocktails and food. The portions are large and the food is well seasoned. The scroppino pornstar and the Espresso martini with salted caramel were definitely recommended! The wagyu carpaccio and the ribeye were also among our favorites.

I also went to Jimix in Hilversum on the recommendation of a friend and I must say, it certainly did not disappoint us! Their sushi rolls are absolutely delicious! But actually everything we ate was really delicious. The nice thing is that they have halal chicken, so we still had plenty of choice. The employees are super friendly and helpful. Imaginative well-known Asian dishes! Food is really 5 star!!! Delicious food, too much because we were so curious about the flavors. We started with sushi spicy tuna, a nice twist and delicious. Then the pancakes with duck and hoisin sauce, also delicious and beautifully served. Finally, a lamb satay with a side dish of rice with egg, which was buttery soft and well marinated. Because it was all so delicious, I ordered a salad with chicken and shrimp in curry. Salad again with a twist and surprising flavors, curry with a look on mashed potatoes and a mild creamy curry with 5 large prawns. Turning to the price: it seems a bit pricey, people have written about that, but the portions are generous. And above all: it is very tasty and well prepared. Because it was not busy, the chef also came by, which I always think is a plus, paying attention to the customers. But the service was also very nice and correct. If I do have one point of criticism: the cocktails are a bit pricey and not very generously poured. And the wine is really too expensive, 7.50 for a reasonably good Tempranillo (or Rioja as stated on the bill). And the 80s soul music was too loud. In short: enjoy a delicious meal here (during the week). It is very busy on weekends.

Ik heb bij de Fork en TA 5 bollen bij Googl 4 omdat ik het eten 5 waard is. Kleine punten die het echt tot een terugkeerrestaurant kunnen gaan maken. Heerlijk gegeten, teveel omdat we zo nieuwsgierig waren naar de smaken. We zijn begonnen met sushi spicy tuna, leuke twist en heerlijk van smaak. Daarna de pannenkoekjes met eend en hoisinsaus, ook heerlijk en mooi opgediend. Tot slot een lamssate met een side dish rijst met ei, ste was boterzacht en goed gemarineerd. Omdat dit allemaal zo lekker was nog een salade met kip en de garnalen in curry besteld. Salade ook weer met een twist en verassende smaken, curry heerkijk op aardappelpuree en een milde romige curry met 5 grote gamba's. Kom ik op de prijs: het lijkt wat prijzig, daar wordt ook wel over geschreven, maar de porties zijn ruim En vooral: het is vooral heel lekker en goed klaargemaakt. Omdat het niet druk was kwam de kok ook langslopen, dat vind ik sowieso altijd een pluspunt waard, aandacht geven aan de klanten. Maar ook de bediening was heel aardig en correct. Als ik dan toch een puntjes van kritiek heb: de cocktails zijn wel wat prijzig en dan ook niet heel ruim geschonken. En de wijn is echt te duur, 7,50 voor een redelijk goede Tempranillo (of Rioja zoals op de rekening stond). En de jaren 80 soulmuziek stond te hard. Kortom: ga hier (toch) lekker -door de weeks- eten. In het weekend is het heel druk.

Delicious Asian dining at a high level at Jimix in Hilversum. We enjoyed it so much, from fish to meat to vegetarian, something for everyone and just as tasty for everyone! The cocktails are also highly recommended. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the staff knows what they are talking about. A true pearl of Hilversum :)!

We put the menu aside and were surprised by Jim (owner and chef): I would recommend that to everyone because then things really get going with super tasty things.

The food was good, but not anything too special. Some options were great, some were mediocre at best- for this pricepoint at least. I would recommend the tuna tataki as well as the dynamite shrimp. The atmosphere was nice, not a very diverse public but the service was good. Would I visit again? Yes probably, but that is mostly because there isn’t any better place for sushi in Hilversum.

Presentation really great. Funny what the concept is with all the natural elements that you find in the map. For example, fire element was the hot dishes and water was the fish dishes. Wat was dit geweldig! Als je aankomt word je uiterst netjes ontvangen en voel je je al meteen meer dan welkom. Het eten is ongekend lekker en het is een hele mooie, chique locatie om even lekker te ontspannen en te genieten van een heerlijk diner. De drankjes waren ook erg lekker :) Bedankt en zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!

Een prachtig restaurant en heerlijk gegeten. Hier en daar nog wel wat verbeterpuntjes. Het eerste gerechtje stond pas na een uur op tafel en vervolgens duurde het ongeveer een halfuur voordat het volgende gerechtje op tafel stond. Hierdoor hebben we ruim 3 uur gewacht op al onze gerechtjes. Daarnaast is onze drankbestelling 2x niet goed doorgekomen. Wij komen hier zeker nog eens terug, maar hopen dat de gerechten dan wel sneller op tafel komen.

Geweldig restaurant, alles is hier zeer goed verzorgd en heerlijk om te eten! Zelfs als het erg druk is wordt alles tot in de puntjes geregeld. Alles zat vol, maar na een uurtje aan de bar met een aantal zeer smakelijke cocktails was er toch nog een tafeltje in orde gemaakt en hebben we fantastisch kunnen genieten! Aanrader!

Ik heb oprecht in een hele lange tijd niet zo lekker gegeten ! Niets viel onder een 8, eten was super vers en vol met smaak. Wagyu was ongelooflijk. Medewerkers erg aardig. Ik heb niks te klagen.

Wat een heerlijke en een knus restaurant. Je kunt kiezen uit diverse heerlijke gerechten die prachtig worden geserveerd. Super leuke inrichting en gezellige sfeer. Fijne service. Parkeren om de hoek.

Het eten is echt super! Ik geef een 4.5, omdat de service iets beter kan. Wij bestelden de eerste fles wijn voor 3 van de 4 personen, maar er werd maar 1 glas ingeschonken. Verder klopte er een aantal beschrijvingen niet, maar dat zie je alleen als je niet geheel thuis bent in culinaire termen. Dit is dus niet een groot issue. Ik had hier eerder gegeten en bracht mijn vrouw nu mee omdat ik een bepaald gerecht heerlijk vond en zeker wist dat dit in de smaak van mijn vrouw past. Het gerecht waarvoor ik haar hier naar toe bracht was veranderd. Ook dit is geen probleem als je niet weet wat je kan verwachten, maar in dit geval miste ik wel iets. Het is zeker een aanrader voor goed eten en een leuke avond. Ons tarief is hoog pp, omdat wij dure wijnen hebben genomen en veel hebben besteld. Het kan zeker 35% lager pp. Mijn favoriet is de black cod, niet de goedkoopste, maar wel super van smaak. Wij komen zeker terug.

Ik heb heerlijke gedineerd bij Jimix. De gerechten worden op een fijne manier geserveerd en gecombineerd op basis van smaken. Deze manier van dineren maakt dat je van elk gerechtje intens geniet. De service was ook top! Wij komen zeker nog terug, dank jullie wel.

Heerlijk eten! Ik schok wel van de prijzen. Een flesje wijn besteld, maar kregen ipv ve fles 3 glazen. Aardig en jong personeel. Ontzettend lang wachten op ons eten, 3 van ons hadden al 2 gerechtjes gekregen na 45 minuten wachten terwijl 4e nog niets had gehad. Kan echt niet. Ook een gerecht nog vergeten. natuurlijk is het op zaterdag druk. Pas dan hier personeel op aan of anders minder tafels. We hebben maar geen dessert genomen. Jammer.

Het is gezellig ingericht, en alles is schoon, netjes en lief personeel. We waren met z'n drieën en het menu werd uitgelegd. Over de kwaliteit van het eten valt niks te zeggen, alle gerechten die wij hadden waren heerlijk en prachtig voor het oog. De chef is erg betrokken, en hij komt ook vragen of het smaakt. Enige min/verbeter puntjes: Dat de side gerechten als laatste gebracht worden, heb je de gerechten op, krijg je daarna pas je friet, je borden al weg worden gehaald terwijl er eten op ligt, je lang moet wachten op de gerechten, omdat er maar 1 gerechtje per keer op tafel wordt gezet. De porties zijn niet heel groot, voor de prijs die je betaald. En hoewel de bediening erg lief is, en zeker hun best doen, zou het het voor deze prijs klasse, iets ouder personeel met wat meer ervaring, net iets beter overkomen. Het is al met al een aanrader om er een keer te eten.

Eten was behoorlijk over-priced wat mij betreft: klein stukje zalm -> 18 euro, 4 stukjes niet bijzondere zalmsushi 12 euro, dim sum was ook matig. Verder wel gezellig ingericht, bediening was onervaren (liet wijn niet even proeven bv).

Afgelopen zaterdag met vrienden wezen dineren. Wat een feestje!!! Het leuke is dat je alles kan delen en derhalve veel gerechten kan proeven. Van ieder gerecht werden we blij. Kortom; voor ons een tent waar we zeker terug zullen komen.

Echt bizar lekker! Zonder twijfel het beste restaurant waar ik ooit ben geweest. De reis van een uur was het 100% waard. De tempura zalm rol was onze favoriet maar eigenlijk was alles echt een 10/10. Super smaakvol en vers. Ook de drankjes waren heerlijk en het personeel is heel vriendelijk. Absoluut een aanrader wij komen zeker terug.
