Super cozy atmosphere. The staff is very knowledgeable about the meat. The meat was perfectly grilled. I'll definitely come back.

We had a fantastic meal at ROAST. The burger was truly fantastic. The service was very friendly and welcoming. We sat at a high table with comfortable high chairs. The tables are separated by planters, creating plenty of private nooks, which I personally appreciate. The restroom is very luxurious. The open kitchen allows you to watch the chefs prepare the meat live in the Green Eggs. A glass window separates the kitchen, preventing smoke from entering the restaurant—a very thoughtful touch! The outdoor terrace is large and very inviting in the spring and summer. There's plenty of room inside. On a busy weekend, I recommend making a reservation; during the week, it's not necessary. I thoroughly enjoyed ROAST and highly recommend it to everyone.

Really nice atmosphere, super friendly service, super tender steak, delicious spare ribs, yep, a keeper, so nice to find at the end of 2025. Boxing Day was also great.

My husband and I are very discerning. We're true foodies, but we avoid restaurants because the quality is often subpar, so we're not easily impressed. We reserved a table around 6:00 PM and got a nice spot by the window. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, and when it came to the food... A wide selection of dishes. We opted for the 5-course menu. We were a bit skeptical, but it exceeded all expectations. All the delicacies you don't often get. The presentation, quantity, and quality of the food were truly top-notch. Très Bien👌

We also each had a main course, which was a huge hit. In short, the price-quality ratio is excellent. I would definitely come back.

I wasn't too impressed with the hot dog on a hamburger bun, and the sausage was like a bratwurst. It's a grill restaurant, so if you like meat, this is the place for you.

What you'd expect from a restaurant like Roast: a well-prepared piece of meat, top-notch quality! The portions are enormous; I had to eat quite a bit to finish it all.

The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and prompt. However, we were very disappointed with the portion sizes. We had the 5-course menu for €55 per person. It goes without saying that the first three courses were small, but the main course was simply too small for two people. It's a real shame that after 5 courses and €110 worth of food, you leave hungry. The price-quality ratio (or in this case, quantity) simply doesn't match. It's a shame, because the quality of the food was truly excellent.

Actually, the food is also 5 stars. But they serve Pepsi, which is simply undrinkable these days. What is really super neat, is that it was reported immediately when ordering, that is a service you never really see.

Without a reservation, we were able to join the two of us on a Friday evening in this 'Grill restaurant' that has since changed location. We were kindly welcomed upon arrival and led to our table. Nice contemporary restaurant where you have a direct view into the kitchen through the glass wall. Always nice to see what is happening with your food. Behind the glass wall, people were clearly enjoying their work, so that promised something. Today, no starter, but a main course seemed sufficient to us. We went for the special. A plank with swordfish, salmon and a large prawn from the grill. With some coleslaw, sauces and fries. Cost €75 for 2 people. Quickly calculated back, that is €37.50 p.p. The plank offered us approximately 140 grams of swordfish, 140 grams of salmon and two large prawns. With some simple calculations, the conclusion was quickly that the price was not at all in line with what was offered. Objectionable. The food itself was otherwise well prepared. Both fish from the grill were excellent in taste and cooking. Sauce and coleslaw were tasty and there is not much you can do to spoil a portion of fries. So the taste was fine. Only annoying that there was still a feeling of hunger. The menu again. The choice fell on the spare ribs. They must be fantastic according to the Green Egg. The ribs, 2 half ribs, were served with only fries and mayonnaise. Cost €25,= Again quite expensive. If you want to spice up this dish with extra garnishes, that is possible but that will affect the price. Before you know it you will be at €30,= for a portion of spare ribs. The ribs were sublime in taste by the way. The 'sweet variant' had a nice grilled flavour and was buttery soft. With dinner we drank a Coppola Chardonnay. A nice glass of wine from California. Beautiful shades of tropical fruit. Costs €54,= That's a fair amount for it as far as I'm concerned. Both have a dessert and then coffee to finish. The warm syrup waffle with cinnamon ice cream is highly recommended. In my assessment I just come to an average. It won't be due to the men and women in the service. Friendliness at its best and smooth and attentive service. The men and women in the kitchen also know what they are doing. The food is tasty, well prepared and nicely presented. However, the price-quality ratio is completely gone at Roast and that's a shame.

Good choice of Green Egg cooked meat/fish. We tried steaks and they were perfectly cooked to the degree we preferred. Carpaccio and octopua are especially great for starters.

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location

Nice, sunny terrace in one of the nicest places in the center of Hilversum. The service could have been a little more attentive, especially after we apparently took a seat at a reserved table (no sign or something). There appeared to be another table available, but we had to proactively inquire about this ourselves. The staff themselves apparently didn't really care whether we stayed or went. Once at the table, the service was good. In terms of food: what you get is of good quality, but if you pay €33 for a dish, an eyebrow will be raised if you only see a piece of (qualitatively good) meat with a small bowl of fries. A little more volume wouldn't be bad, even if it's some coleslaw or something. All in all we had a good meal, but not a place we will return to frequently.

Food is very tasty. Everything is made on the green egg. Nice and smokey! Thought the music was a bit too loud. Luckily we were able to get a table where you don't sit next to a loudspeaker. Well solved!

Gm, eaten at the Roast the as they describe fantastic meat platter. € 79 for 2 people. Unfortunately a disappointment, 3 types of meat as they describe but in reality they are small variants, actually you are just expensive!!!! when you order the 3 pieces of meat separately you pay € 93 for 750 grams! Meat is already pre-cooked and comes on the grill of the Green Egg when you place the order. The result is lukewarm meat and no crispy roast. Small pieces of cheap fries and poor container of wok vegetables and a dollop of mayo. Made known and the manager?? has accepted it. Perhaps a small compensation would have been appropriate here.?? Drink or coffee? Nice place and friendly service.

Worst experience in a long time. The service is very slow it would take them 25 min to bring the menu. Food was way to expensive for the volume that you get. Thay made a mistake in the order and thay want us to pay for it. Terrible experience! The atmosphere was cozy.

Slow service and food was not worth the price in my opinion, don't think I'll be back soon. Also not the biggest fan of the ambiance but I can imagine other people like that sort of thing with all the visible barbequing

Saturday December 28; on the way to the top 2000 café and plenty of time to have a nice, quiet meal somewhere. At first we walked past until someone said it looked nice. It was well organized from arrival to farewell. Nice and relaxed, very friendly people, quick service and, not unimportantly, very tasty food. Fries seemed quite salty at first, but turned out to be very nicely seasoned. Since I like spicy, I went for the spicy spareribs; and spicy they were. No half measures, so to speak. These will forever be in my personal top 3. It's a pity that Hilversum is not really near us, but this will be a regular stop when we go to the top 2000 café again. Finally, the pricing: nothing wrong with that at all. In one word 'great'.

This is a great tent! Meat platter is highly recommended, we ordered extra sausages! So good. Then a burger and spareribs. A bit bare, you have to order salad or vegetables separately. Service was super nice. We will come back again! Nice interior!

Great atmosphere and amazing food. The spareribs are to die for! For two people with drinks, the bill was around €100, which is a bit on the steep side, but it is totally worth it!

Small piece of fish on a plank with a pot of fries. No vegetables. 23.00 euros. Lady on staff acted irritated. Inappropriate! We are guests.

A top grill restaurant! I've been to ROAST several times with different companies and it's always good. Everyone I brought along also really enjoyed it. The open kitchen (behind glass) is very neat and fun to see how the food is made on the green egg BBQ. Also nice to look at the different dry aged products in the cooler. I always order something different and so far it has been great every time! Best restaurant in Hilversum

For a really tasty piece of meat, go to Roast. Yesterday I ate the tastiest Flat Iron steak in a long time. Nice atmosphere and good service. Summary, highly recommended.

Pay close attention to this!! Checkout scam. They charge more than you used We simply drank 2 hot chocolates. At checkout, an extra €1 was charged and paid. Manager pointed this out and became embarrassed. I was told there was an error on the map. But all I got was an apology. Didn't get any money back. Really scandalous!! Never go here again. Be warned

Heerlijk gegeten, leuk personeel. Zeker een aanrader.

Het vlees is top en wordt bereidt in een greenegg. Erg smakelijk. Een klein minpuntje dat je er niet iets van gegrilde groente bij krijgt. Voor de rest een top restaurant waar de bediening ook gezellig en prima is. Ik kom er zeker nog een keer.

Lekkere gerechten in het pitmaster menu maar porties waren enorm klein. Menu is echt te duur voor wat je krijgt. Ook de drankjes bleken achteraf erg prijzig. Jammer dat de prijs-kwaliteit niet in verhouding is. Wij gingen met een dikke rekening en honger naar huis.

Heerlijk vlees, laat ik dat voor op stellen! We hebben zitten smullen van de sappige burgers en de malse ribs. Nagerecht (op de brownie na) was minder.. Koude harde appeltaart, smaak was oke. The old dutch, wat een warme stroopwafel met kaneelijs moest zijn, waren 3 kleine harde koude stroopwafeltjes met wat kaneelijs. Na dit aangegeven te hebben, werd er helaas niks gedaan qua compensatie. Service was jammer, de dame op leeftijd was niet echt vriendelijk of behulpzaam, kon geen glimlachje vanaf. De eigenaar kwam wel even vragen of alles naar wens was tijdens het eten, super attent! Een paar jonge meiden in de bediening die echt hun best deden, alleen toch vaak met ons handje in de lucht gezeten om gezien te worden. De zaak ziet er super leuk uit, het vlees is echt top, jammer van de rest.

Leuke zaak. Fijne sfeer. Zit potentie in. Iets meer vriendelijkheid naar nieuwe gasten zou wel mogen. Bekende gasten werden meer gezien. Vaak om drinken moeten vragen. Het voorgerecht was heerlijk. Het hoofdgerecht was lekker, maar een karig stukje vlees. Geen sausje, salade of groenten. Serveer dit er gewoon bij i.p.v los bij te bestellen. Het oogt zo treurig. Het dessert viel enorm tegen. Cheese cake met een vreemde bosvruchten smaak. Zonde van de cheese cake die extra toevoeging. Het ijs was wel lekker. De wijn was lekker. De bediening liet drinken over onze tafel vallen. Alles nat, inclusief mijn nieuwe schoenen. Baal ik van! Hoop dat ik ze morgen schoon krijg. Snel en vluchtig werd het schoon gemaakt, ik heb zelf nog alles extra gedroogd en de vloer droog gemaakt. Een minimale sorry kon er nog net vanaf. Geef dan op zen minst een rondje drinken als excuses of zo. Dit verpeste meteen de sfeer. Ik weet niet of wij nog een keer terug komen.
