Our plates are empty…just loved it. They made spice curry on request its just outstanding….

Yesterday, we wanted to enjoy a delicious meal at the charming and welcoming Ganesha restaurant in Hilversum. It turned out to be closed and undergoing renovations. Is this closure permanent or temporary? We hope the latter.

Delicious food and friendly service I had a wonderful experience at Restaurant Ganesh in Hilversum. The food took a little longer to arrive, but the quality more than made up for it. The dishes were fresh, well-prepared, and incredibly delicious. It's understandable that there's a small charge for the plastic containers. These are costs that also accrue to the restaurant, so that makes sense. The waiter was very friendly, and the waitress clearly went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Some extra tips: the mango lassi is highly recommended, and the kulfi for dessert is definitely not to be missed. Both were delicious! All in all, a good experience. Restaurant Ganesh is definitely recommended for anyone who loves authentic Indian food.

Disclaimer: This is my experience with Ganesha, but it's not guaranteed that yours will be the same. This situation won't happen often, but it does teach us something about the staff present that day. I haven't often found myself walking out the door within minutes, but I'll give you a (short) version of our story: I received a dinner gift card, and Ganesha was on the list of restaurants to redeem it. I called from home around 6:15 PM to reserve a table. They briefly questioned whether there was room, but we were able to get in at 7:00 PM. When we arrived at the restaurant (around 6:50 PM), it was completely empty except for three tables, which was remarkable. We were greeted by a woman who unfortunately didn't look very well-groomed. I'm sorry to write this, but that's not very nice in a restaurant. Once at our table, we pointed out to the same woman that we had a gift card, just to make sure it could be redeemed. The woman's reproachful response was: "We should have mentioned this when making our reservation (35 minutes ago), after which her colleague added that no more gift cards could be accepted that day because the maximum of three had already been reached." (Also remarkable, considering there were three occupied tables at the time.) The staff's entire explanation for this situation seemed unprepared and highly unprofessional. The reproachful tone in which the woman and her colleague addressed us was simply ridiculous; this is not how you should treat customers, so we got up and left. Once at the exit, we were told that "an exception could be made just this once," but our appetites had completely vanished. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what the food at Ganesha is like. My apologies.

Ordered a takeaway 1hr40 for delivery. Food was cold and the Lamb Bhuna was disgusting, inedible. Give this restaurant a miss.

Completely empty. Wouldn’t take 2 people for a quick dinner without reservation. Avoid this restaurant!

Despite being incredibly busy (including online orders), they were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, and two peppers are really quite spicy! Delicious!

We wanted to dine at Ganesha Hilversum on November 8, 2024, using our Diner Cadeau Card. Upon arrival, we asked if we could use the Diner Cadeau Card. We were told that four tables were already using the card and that the maximum was reached. We then called the Diner Cadeau Card helpdesk, and they told us this was nonsense. When we tried to leave the restaurant, the maximum was no longer available. Due to the manager's arrogance and unimpressive attitude (?), we decided to spend the voucher elsewhere. Unworthy of the hospitality industry!!!!

We had just gone for a long walk and wanted to treat ourselves. That worked out well in this restaurant. Atmospheric. We were at a quiet time but had a nice spot by the window and it was just a friendly restaurant with plenty of choice even for vegetarians. Highly recommended 👍

I have enjoyed the food at this restaurant for several years, but my last experience was disappointing. I ordered takeout, and upon arriving home just ~15 minutes later, I discovered that the paneer was completely burnt. When I called the restaurant and shared photos, they insisted that I return to show them the food. Disappointing that they did not believe, managed to travel back though unwell. Upon my arrival, they dismissed my claim, suggesting I must have ordered from another place and switched the food to their container. It is hard to believe that a long-time customer would be thought to taking two meals from different places on the same evening and falsely complain over a mere 15 euros. This treatment has left me dissatisfied, and I decided not to return. Suggesting to open the boxes and check your food.

Really very rude gentleman, had bought a voucher through social deal and made a reservation and then got thrown out of the restaurant because apparently you have to make a reservation before 5:00 PM... why don't I get called in advance? Reservation was 2.5 hours later than I made it and was confirmed by email.

Not customer friendly, antisocial behavior

The Kitchen is very busy around dinnertime with takeout and deliveries, but the restaurant stays nice and relaxed.

It was my first visit to this very nice restaurant, but i can not help rate 5 stars, because my food experience at this cosy restaurant was absolutely superb !! Atmosphere is great, the food superb and the host, Mister Dogra, was very kind and helpful. I will be back soon, for another great Indian meal. I higly recommend this restaurant to everyone !!

We love the ambience of this place. It’s a place we usually visit to celebrate birthdays or special occasion. The food is tasty as well just few dishes could be little less sweet like the chicken tikka masala is just too sweet to be a main course dish and we were told that they couldnt make it non sweet. but to give credit to them, the server did inform us in advance. the service is really good as well! definitely worth visiting !!

This was our second visit to Ganesha. We had a very tasty meal. The food you order is enough to divide among yourselves. The menu is extensive and therefore sufficient options. The atmosphere and service are excellent. I enjoy the music in the background. Top!!

Service was unfriendly. If you want to take leftovers home, they charge €2.50 per container! So they prefer to throw the food away. It's fine that something extra is charged, but this is ridiculous.

Ik vond de kip van zeer slechte kwaliteit. Proefde een beetje naar van die vermalen en daarna samengeperste kip. En aangezien ik voornamelijk kip eet, was dit een grote teleurstelling. Prijs was wel goed vergeleken met andere restaurants tegenwoordig.

Unfortunately not and a good experience. Service was not friendly. You have to pay to take leftovers home. You are not allowed to ask for dishes to be made less spicy. Unfortunately. It used to be good now I think it has a different owner.

Our expectations were high based on the good reviews. Food presentation was nice, however taste not as good as we hoped for. Interior nice, only 2 tables booked on a Wednesday.

The food was amazing! The service was also great but sometimes they forgot to give us drinks. No worries tho, because they were friendly. I wanted to take the leftover home but had to pay €2,50 for that. In my opinion that’s a bit improper as I already paid for the food.

Went here for dinner with my son of 13. The food was lovely and the service very good indeed. The tandoori chicken was delicious and the Tikka Masala likewise. Cosy atmosphere and easy to access from the train station and city centre.

Quiet place to dine in! If you are looking for authentic food, you might end up being slightly disappointed. The samosa chat was more like samosa salad. Not really authentic for Indian standards.

The spicy food is not spicy. People ask if you want garlic or just naan bread. Then it seems like it comes with the meal. But no. So at the end of the meal (4 people) you end up with lots of naan bread that you can also pay for. Then you ask for a take-away container that also costs 2 euros. I hope they are proud of themselves with this review. They deserved it.

Heerlijk gegeten. Gastvrije ontvangst. Echt goed eten voor een redelijke prijs. Ook veel vegetarische en vis gerechten. Wel heel veel keuze wat het niet makkelijker maakt.

Very nice Indian cuisine restaurant, the food is very good and full of flavour.

Goed Indiaas restaurant. Eten beviel ons prima. Zo ook de service. Was niet aan de goedkope kant. Maar is zijn geld dubbel en dwars waard.

Bezoek aan familie in Hilversum, en natuurlijk was het weer te gezellig waardoor we ook het avondeten nog samen deden. We kozen voor Vegan / Vega avondeten vanwege onze dieet wensen en dan kom je onder andere snel bij de Indiase keuken. Moeilijk kiezen hoor want alles leek erg lekker. Na de keuze gemaakt te hebben werd er snel bezorgd en het eten was vervolgens erg lekker. Zo lekker zelfs dat we zeer binnenkort bij ons in Enschede ook even gaan kijken welke Indiase restaurants Enschede heeft. Dank voor t heerlijke eten. Nameste !

Went with a friend. Friendly service but food was alright. Had ordered mango lassi, samosa chaat and matar paneer. Lassi was amazing however samosa chaat and matar paneer were a letdown for me personally.

Ons eerste bezoek aan dit Indian Restaurant liet een goede indruk achter. Vriendelijke ontvangst leuke sfeer prettige bediening en heerlijk eten. Gebruikelijk in een Indian restaurant is een zeer uitgebreide kaart welke naar mijn mening de keuze voor het gerecht alleen maar moeilijker maakt deze zou wat compacter mogen zijn. Maar dit doet niet af aan de kwaliteit van het eten welke goed te noemen is. Traditionele keuken met zeer smaakvolle en kleurrijke gerechten wat je mag verwachten van deze keuken. In het centrum van Hilversum op een steenworp afstand qpark hilvertshof. Prijzen zitten tussen normaal en duur in maar de moeite waard.
