We had a delicious meal, and the location was well-designed. We were able to put the dog down in a comfortable spot and eat in peace. The table service was friendly and good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas lunch! The delicious amuse-bouche, the spoom, the appetizers—everything was delicious. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very cozy. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. I'm now 31 and have been coming here since I was a baby with my parents and grandparents. I've walked through the doors many times. It was very special to celebrate Christmas here again with my mother, grandmother, sister, and boyfriend.

We went for lunch on Boxing Day and it was a great visit. The food was good, as was the service and atmosphere. Thank you, Johanna's Hof.

Delicious pancakes, dogs are welcome in the restaurant, and there's a lovely walking area. There are chickens roaming freely on the terrace, which is good for dog owners to know.

We celebrated our wedding at Johannas Hof in Castricum, and it was truly perfect. From the first moment of contact to the very last glass, they took care of everything down to the last detail. The service was friendly, professional, and perfectly understood what we and our guests needed. The rooms and layout were beautifully arranged and perfectly tailored to our wishes. The food was fantastic, delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, and the drinks were also prepared with care and attention. Our day simply couldn't have gone better. Thanks to the entire team at Johannas Hof, we had an unforgettable wedding. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special wedding venue with top-notch service!

Way too busy, half an hour wait for a table!

A very nice restaurant for a day trip. Prices are a bit touristy, but not exorbitant. From there you can also take a very nice walk through the dunes to the sea.

I celebrated my 70th birthday at Doc's Paddock. What a lovely venue, and the food and drinks were fantastic. We had a walking dinner, which I highly recommend. Everyone was enthusiastic, and the little ones could choose between pancakes or fries.

I wouldn't expect dogs inside a restaurant. This is due to allergies and hygiene. Unfortunately, the staff welcomed them, and for a moment I felt like a non-smoker among smokers. Tap water wasn't an option. They'd rather sell water that was transported by truck. Better for their bottom line than for the environment.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a lavish lunch for about 60 people at Johanna'shof. We received high praise from everyone! The food was delicious and diverse, the service friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was fantastic! In short, a very successful afternoon.

A pathetic menu for 21 euros! Chicken satay with a paltry amount of fries and 4 mini prawn crackers. The toppings were paltry. Pancakes are perfect to eat here, but the audacity to charge that price for this menu is truly appalling. So, stick to pancakes here.

Disappointing lunch experience. During a recent lunch, the quality of the food was quite disappointing. Both the fried eggs, croquettes, and pancakes were of a poor standard; the whole experience suggested the restaurant focuses primarily on speed, not on taste or freshness. It seems that, now that the place has become popular, the care for the food has faded into the background.

Friendly - Helpful - Delicious food

Be careful that it doesn't become a bygone glory. I found the quality of the food to have deteriorated. That's a shame.

The nicest, most welcoming, and most hospitable place in the area! Fantastic staff who are passionate about their work. The owner also works hard on the floor; it's a true family business, and you can feel the difference.

Absolutely great restaurant and great service

Pretty faded glory, with old-fashioned chairs and tables. We had a cup of coffee and cappuccino there. You can make a cup of coffee into an experience, but I've never seen such a dull cup. A white cup on a white saucer. The coffee was weak; it shouldn't be called coffee. The staff was very friendly, but it could all be a bit better.

The only thing is, the staff didn't know where the bandages were. If you need them, it would be helpful to have them on hand.

Celebrated the arrival of a new nephew with the family. First, we played with the little ones in the play forest, then enjoyed delicious pancakes and burgers. The chicken and waffle was also delicious. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

It was busy when we arrived, and the service wasn't great. Rushed and disinterested. We had a quick drink and then quickly left because of the many wasps.

It took a really long time for the order to arrive. Such a shame. It took 30 minutes for the coffee to arrive, and then I ordered a pancake, which took another 45 minutes.

I celebrated my birthday here and look back on it fondly. Everything was perfectly organized, and the food was delicious.

A pleasant and cozy atmosphere. The food is fine, not exceptional, but that's okay when it's time to eat. The overall setting is great and it fits perfectly into a day exploring the adjacent nature reserve.

Thick, undercooked pancakes. I thought I was the only one so I didn't say anything, but it turned out several of us had the same problem. One of us even found a piece of paper in his pancake. I didn't say anything to the staff, so they couldn't have done anything about it, but the quality of the pancakes could definitely be better. The staff works very hard and tries really hard. The staff's humor, which was rather corny, wasn't to our liking, but that's a matter of taste. The atmosphere is pleasant and the restaurant is nice, but the pancakes... skip them.

Smoke-free terrace, but there's a designated smoking area in front of the restaurant entrance. When you enter, you walk through a cloud of smoke, and if anyone is smoking, the smoke billows across the terrace... a friendly waitress asked the manager if the ashtray could be moved because our whole family was in the stench, but that was impossible. Otherwise, we had a good meal (indoors) and the waitresses were friendly. So, the two-star service doesn't apply to the waitresses, but to the manager's stubborn behavior.

The Johanneshof's decor is a bit worn, that's one drawback. Otherwise, it could last for many years, provided it's improved. I had a mushroom, onion, and bacon pancake. I thought it was subpar—an awful lot of mushrooms, an awful lot of onions, and a small amount of bacon. The pancake wasn't what it should have been. It's a shame the kitchen missed the mark. But my grandson and his grandmother had a pancake that was tasty.

Cozy place to relax after a walk or bike ride. Unfortunately the apple pie was a bit watery, but everything else tasted great.

Fantastic find on our family bike tour. We ordered the chicken and waffles, it was delicious. The chicken was crispy and the waffle was made to match. My daughter order the poffertjes and it was so good she licked the plate clean. The prices were quite good as well. Abd there was a great playground nearby for the kids. Definitely a good recommendation

Today I had another wonderful time at Johanna’s Hof. I've known family here since I was a child. Over the years, it's remained a wonderfully familiar place. The enthusiastic and experienced host is a true master of his craft. How wonderful! The Chef's Croque Madame is crispy, well-filled, and topped with a delicious fried egg. It was even gluten-free. And with coffee afterward, I ordered a delicious cream truffle and also received a gluten-free cookie. I thought that last part was so thoughtful of the host. The fact that they even thought of that really impressed me. Johanna, you've pleasantly surprised me once again, and I'd love to visit you again!

The menu says the food is prepared with love. The chef couldn't get a pancake right twice! So, I sent it back. How can a chef screw up a pancake?😖 This is the second time, so I won't be back.

What a great service for people with gluten allergies! Without asking, they immediately put new jars of syrup and powdered sugar on the table, so there wouldn't be any traces of other users in them—truly fantastic!

We all enjoyed a delicious meal together on the terrace of this old but oh so cozy historical restaurant - especially aimed at children.

Very fast service. The pancakes were delicious. Dessert too. Very reasonable prices. A lovely place to relax after a day at the beach (Castricum aan Zee).

I regularly return to Johanna's Hof. Often combined with a walk in the dunes or a visit to De Boet with its beautiful natural garden behind it. It never gets old. Beautiful surroundings, great atmosphere. It does get very busy on peak days and in good weather, though. It's good to keep that in mind. Book in advance if you want to be guaranteed a spot. It's worth it.

We've been meeting here for a family day for several years now, this year with 20 people. This year, the service was a bit less than usual, as people often had to go to the bar to get drinks themselves. This had been better in previous years. The snacks, however, were excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect.

Ordered a pancake. Apple. Raisins with bacon. The apple and the bacon weren't fully broken through, even though I had requested it beforehand. The bonnet was delicious. Highly recommended!
