We had a really delicious meal. The staff were very friendly and service-oriented. You can tell that the people enjoy their work. And when something went wrong for a moment, it was resolved immediately and well. We will definitely be back here!

Friday at 5:45 pm, a table for two was not available; was it because we hadn't reserved one? 70% of the tables outside were free, and everything inside was empty. We were very rudely turned away.

Beautiful location and excellent food, but it's time for the service to speed up a bit. Don't be in a hurry. It always takes a long time to get served and get something on the table after you order.

What a surprise this restaurant was! You can moor your boat and step right into the restaurant. That already makes for a fun experience, but the food really topped it off. The menu offers a lot of variety, everything we ordered was incredibly tasty, and the cocktails are highly recommended. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, making it easy to stay a little longer. As an extra surprise, we were even given bottles of water to take back on the boat after paying the bill. Small gestures like that really make all the difference. In short: delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and a perfect location if you are going boating for the day. Highly recommended for lunch or drinks by the water!

Prompt service and waitstaff. Had a spot on the outdoor terrace. Had a view of the water. You can take a seat at various tables with matching seating, such as benches and chairs. The food was delicious, even when the terrace was full.

It was truly fantastic; we had beautiful weather and sat comfortably on the terrace in the sun with a bottle of wine. We ordered delicious food, and the prices charged are entirely in good proportion to the quality. The service was provided by young girls who did an excellent job. They were quick and very friendly. Nowadays, that is certainly not the case in all hospitality establishments. So, enjoy!

Nice spot which was a welcomed 30 min walk from our hotel in Schiphol. Food was tasty, I just found some meals incomplete. Inconsistent inclusion of vegetables for example. For a group of 12 our server could have used a little more help from colleagues. All in all a lovely spot and I would return. Worth noting it was a little on the pricy side, but not unexpected.

Joseph aan de Poel Bar & Bistro looks like one of those places where everything is just right: sleek, hip interior and service that tries just a little too hard to come across as "cool." Fine for drinks or a quick snack, but if you really want to dine, I would look elsewhere. The starter arrived quickly, but things went wrong after that: I waited over an hour for fairly simple dishes like satay and tournedos. It seemed as if the kitchen sets its own pace entirely, or simply struggles with a slightly fuller table. The quality of the food itself is reasonably okay, but it is on the salty side and the vegetarian options are limited. All in all, not a terrible experience, but certainly not recommended if you are looking for a relaxed dinner—there are plenty of better alternatives in the area.

The restaurant is situated in a lovely spot by the water. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The staff was attentive and professional. The service was smooth and pleasant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. There is a good variety on the menu. Everything was fresh and prepared with care. As a team, we really enjoyed the evening together. It was a relaxed and pleasant setting to be together. Definitely a place we would love to return to.

The owners were a bit stand offish when we entered, "standt there and wait to be seated" after the person at the door said sit where you like.. so some communication gaps to be addressed, food was good though

We've eaten here a few times, and I have to say, the location is really nice, right in the harbor. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is good, but the food is okay, not really what you come to a restaurant for. The prime rib was overcooked, and the fish trio, for example, lacked flavor in the eel. The salad, however, was good.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food What a beautiful restaurant! Beautifully and atmospherically decorated, everything is perfect. You immediately feel welcome. We started with the garlic bread, soup, and prawns as an appetizer. The Tom Kha Kai soup was especially recommended... wonderfully flavorful. For our main course, we chose the crispy chicken sandwich and the chicken thigh satay... both were excellently prepared and very tasty. To our surprise, it also turned out to be Happy Hour... two cocktails for the price of one... always a nice bonus 🍹 A small drawback was the garlic bread. It seemed like a ready-made baguette from the oven with garlic butter. That could definitely be improved. All in all, a wonderful experience... delicious food and definitely a place we'd love to return to!

A cozy restaurant by the lake. For lunch, I had the whitefish from the catch of the day, recommended by the staff, and it was delicious. The only drawback is that without a car, it's difficult to hail an Uber or Bolt taxi.

I dined here today with colleagues. The atmosphere is generally great, but the same can't be said for the food. The appetizers were okay. My mistake was ordering fish and chips. I've never had such dry, tasteless fish. A colleague ordered duck fillet and was very surprised to see remnants of feathers on the skin. That's awful! The service is okay, but they mixed up the cocktail. I won't be back.

I just finished the Beef Carpaccio Salad, and I actually came here especially for this dish. It’s my first time visiting this restaurant, even though I’ve had it on my wish list for quite a while. The location and view are wonderful, and the service was excellent. I made a quick decision to order the salad (which was slightly different from the menu) along with tap water, and the lovely waitress kindly checked with the chef to make sure I could have it—really appreciated! As a big fan of beef carpaccio, I’d love to share a few small suggestions to make this dish even better: 1. Pickled onions – I’d recommend leaving them out. The salad already has quite a bit of tanginess from the pickled and fresh cherry tomatoes. The extra sourness from the onions slightly overpowers the delicate harmony of the beef and fresh ingredients. 2. Parmesan cheese – A bit more would be great! It really enhances the beef’s flavor. By the way, I truly appreciate the generous portion of beef fillet slices—very satisfying! 3. Pine nuts – A few tasted a bit bitter, which can happen when they’ve been stored for a long time. You might consider replacing them with broad beans. They’re more stable in flavor, pair beautifully with the tender beef, and add a nice texture. Plus, they’re even more affordable! Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant and this dish, and I’m looking forward to coming back to try more items from the menu. We had a few drinks and a bite to eat. The atmosphere was great, the service was good, the nachos were mediocre, and the drinks were small and overpriced.

Amazing view, delicious food, and super friendly staff

There were some rather uncouth people around us, so to speak, which didn't improve the atmosphere. We grabbed an empty table, which was quite dirty, and asked if it could be cleaned. The answer was yes, but it didn't happen. The benches were covered in dog hair. I have a dog myself, but that was just disgusting, a lot of hair. I suggest not allowing that. If you need to eat, fine, but otherwise, I recommend skipping this place.

Dear reader, If you're looking for a restaurant with good food and friendly, respectful service, this isn't the place for you. We've been going here for years, but unfortunately, the quality of the food is increasingly disappointing. The food often doesn't taste fresh anymore; it feels like it's been sitting around or cooked for a while. We once sent a dessert back and received an apology. We kept coming back because of the pleasant atmosphere and the beautiful terrace. Today (Sunday evening, August 10th), unfortunately, that was also disappointing. We won't be going back for a while. It was busy, and they forgot part of our order—that happens. We repeatedly mentioned that we were missing something. Finally, an unfriendly waitress brought a modified version of our dish and told us that "it had been ready for a while." When we pointed out that it wasn't quite what we wanted, she loudly announced, on a crowded terrace, that "this is what they have and that's how they're serving it." We felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. We decided to leave almost immediately. When we called her to ask for the bill, she looked us straight in the eye and then walked right past us. Her behavior was also noticed by the surrounding tables. This didn't give us a good feeling. We eventually went inside to pay ourselves, skipping dessert and coffee. If you're looking for a restaurant with good food and friendly service, this isn't the place for you. It's worth mentioning that the other staff here are always friendly. However, because of this woman's behavior, we'll be going elsewhere from now on.

Last month I dined at Joseph aan de Poel in Aalsmeer. The location is beautiful – you're right on the water, and in good weather, the view is definitely a plus. The interior is stylish and modern, and the restaurant clearly exudes ambition. The service was friendly, but not always helpful. We had to wait quite a while for a simple bottle of water and a glass of wine, and when we asked for the dessert menu after dinner, it didn't arrive, so we simply asked for the bill and went to get some ice cream. That slowed the pace of the evening down a bit. The food was good, but not particularly memorable. The presentation of the dishes was well-presented. The portions were also generous. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, but not one I'll remember for long either. A beautiful location, reasonable quality, but still some room for improvement in terms of service and refinement. I would return for drinks by the water, but I don't think I'll return for dinner anytime soon.

We had a fantastic host for lunch last Saturday. We ate with a friend and my daughter at a cozy round table by the water. It was nice to have a chat and they cared for us. The food was good! A little tip: my daughter had the children's menu, which includes ice cream. It would have been nicer if it were a scoop of ice cream with a wafer and a sprinkle instead of a treasure chest on a plate (you can also get that at the snack bar). Otherwise, it was fantastic, we'll definitely be back!

Beautiful location. The food is quite expensive, but it's very tasty and certainly sufficient. We had a delicious lunch. The terrace is great. We did have to wait 15 minutes for sparkling water because the computer was malfunctioning. Those kinds of arguments make me itch. But oh well. Friendly girl in the bar shows us a table and indicates that it is still possible to have lunch. We sit down at a table and then another waitress comes to our table and says, have you made a reservation. We say no but the lady inside indicated that we could still sit at this table. Yes! But you have to make a reservation and then we tell her that we know that, but that this was a spontaneous action and that we asked nicely inside and did not just sit at a table. Then she repeated that we should have made a reservation, but with the grace of God she allowed us to stay... we felt really uncomfortable. Just ordered a cup of tea, skipped lunch, because we didn't feel welcome at all. What happened to the once so hospitable Joseph a/d Poel. What a shame!!

Delicious food. As a starter I ate the Gyoza's chicken which tasted good. After this I ordered the Seabass fillet. This was a generous portion and also very tasty. I topped off the evening with a delicious Brownie. The chocolate flowed out like syrupy magma. A pleasure to eat! The staff was also very friendly and the atmosphere was good. Definitely recommended.

Wij hebben beide de Caesar salade besteld. De prijs/ kwaliteit was niet in verhouding. De salade moest 24.50 euro kosten. Door dit bedrag hadden wij hoge verwachtingen gekregen, maar helaas was het een zeer simpele salade met weinig fantasie bereid. Vors aan de prijs maar geen smaak. Er zat niet eens parmezaanse kaas in de salade. Ook de ansjovis ontbrak. De croutons waren groot en droog, ze bleven in onze keel hangen. Echt zonde van ons geld!!!

Unexpectedly discovered and very enthusiastic!! What a nice location on the water. Two evenings enjoyed on the terrace with nice service, beautiful view, but above all delicious food. Gluten-free is well taken into account with cross-contamination and plenty of options. The only pity is, no gluten-free fries (maybe a separate fryer!?🙏) but fine alternatives.

Wow what a location. The tuna steak, the steak steaks, and the burgers are great. Parking is a bit of a challenge as this is on the water. Dessert sampler was also excellent.

Remove 1 table from the sofa and people who come with 2 people will have more privacy. I have now become very annoyed with the people sitting right next to me.
