What a cozy, atmospheric restaurant. And very affordable! Lovely, friendly service.

For a quick bite, the piri-piri chicken is especially good. Very fast service, making it ideal for (small) children. The children's menu always includes a nice surprise. There's a fun play area both inside and outside.

Staff were very polite and friendly. Apple streudal with spiced warm cider a good combination in the cold. With a fire going and Christmas decorations a lovely place to stop and refresh before continuing our trip.

We weren't in the mood for poetry, even though he jumps high and low. So we all walked out of the chicken coop to Miss Tok's. And what delicious chicken feed we got there, the service was superb, the food tender and well-cooked. We clucked and pecked happily, and the bones together were a whole bunch. We were so looked after by that inexperienced hen, Anouk; she was like a busy mother hen. Serving is certainly no piece of cake, especially not on your third day at work. We've been coming to Juffrouw Tok in Ede for over 30 years and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, this past year, we've seen things decline: the staff who had been working there for years suddenly disappeared and were replaced by staff who also keep disappearing and being replaced. My wife recently had gastric bypass surgery, which allows her to eat very small portions. Today, we ordered a Chicken Piri Piri XL, and I told her we wanted to share it because my wife can't eat much. The employee told us this wasn't allowed: we would have to order twice. We explained that we'd never heard of this before, and then another employee came over and explained that this had been a new policy for a year. We explained that we'd been customers for over 30 years and that we found this policy bizarre. There was no exception, so we didn't want to eat there anymore. Meanwhile, we finished our drinks and saw the staff in the back laughing and constantly looking at us: we were being ridiculed right in front of us. I immediately went to pay and told them I wasn't happy about this, that they'd lost a valuable customer, and that we wouldn't be coming back. All they got was a chuckle: a very poor response. So: after 30 years, we're never coming back. We'll be going to Didam from now on, which has much better reviews. Bye-bye

An honest review as a latinamerican living in the netherlands and having the actual best roasted chicken in the world I recently visited the "most delicious chicken restaurant in the Netherlands" and I must say, their slogan does not disappoint. While it may not be as good as a traditional -Pollo a la brasa- from back home, it is definitely worth a visit. The piri piri chicken, their specialty, is deliciously spicy and definitely worth trying. And for those who can't handle the heat, they offer the option to add the sauce yourself. Their menu may be limited, but they have a few great options to choose from. You can order a normal (1/2 chicken), large (1 chicken), or XL (1 1/2 chicken) with sides such as fries, rice, and corn. The staff is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is family-friendly as well. Overall, the price per person is around 20€, making it a great option for a tasty and affordable meal. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Well, the chicken is tasty, but that's about it. The portion of fries to share between two adults was way too small. Moreover, a quarter of the fries were still raw. We ordered extra fries, but instead of one portion, we got two, which we then had to pay for. It's a shame, because this is the second time our fries order has gone wrong during a visit to this restaurant. The staff simply shrugged when we mentioned the raw fries. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great for a quick dinner with children.

What was supposed to be a fun, relaxing evening with the kids took a turn for the worse. After ordering, we saw everyone around us get theirs quickly, but our table remained empty. After 45 minutes of asking where our food was, it arrived after 10 minutes. Unfortunately, it turned out that a few things had been forgotten. No fries, so we asked, and fries arrived. No sauce, asked, and sauce arrived. Someone came to apologize, and they promised us dessert as an apology. My son was supposed to get a toy. Unfortunately, my son didn't get a toy. We received dessert, and again, part of it was forgotten. My daughter didn't get any ice cream. We asked again, and still no ice cream. After that, we waited 20 minutes to pay, but even then the receipt was wrong, forgotten... What should have been a fun, relaxing evening turned into a lot of frustration and disappointment. Definitely NOT to be repeated! Unfortunately, the food tasted good.

The chicken tasted great, but unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for our food. Guests who arrived much later were served first, which was a bit of a shame, as they also had the piri-piri chicken. After we pointed this out, it was thankfully resolved quickly; our order had probably simply been forgotten. We were practically the first to arrive; it wasn't due to the crowds, or was it the incident? One server seemed somewhat disinterested, which didn't really improve the atmosphere. It was also a shame that we wanted to share an extra-large piri-piri chicken, but were told that wasn't the intention. In my opinion, you can't make a comment like that. This experience was bad, and previous visits have been better! I doubt I'll return to this restaurant because of the incident... I remain in control of my own wallet and the choices I make, such as sharing. Otherwise, change your concept, prices, and menu options. Especially since takeout is an option here and people can share at home, I think this is a comment that will cost me business. Or does everyone at the table have to order their own bitterballen garnish? As a business owner, I understand the need to generate revenue, but this is clearly evident. On a positive note: the children's menu included a cute cuddly toy, which was well-organized! Overall, the service could have been a bit more attentive, as we had to ask for everything ourselves.

At a restaurant with a kid's name, you can't get an omelet or eggs in the afternoon. Gluten-free options are not available for lunch, despite them telling you otherwise over the phone.

While eating, I told my wife at least five times how delicious the chicken was.

I had a reservation for 13 people. Upon entering, two staff members looked at me as if I was speaking a different language when I told them about my reservation. I had to ask if we could get drinks, not once, but three times. It all took a lot of effort, and it showed on the staff (except for two people). I had to ask if the table could be cleared after the appetizer. After fifteen minutes, I asked if we could order a main course. After finishing our meal and waiting a while, I asked if the table could be cleared, which they did. Finally, I asked again if we could order dessert. With everything brought, most of our guests felt uncomfortable, as if it was too much trouble and we were actually in the way. Not a smile, not a friendly word, nothing. The food was delicious, but given the rest of the service, none of the 13 guests will be dining here again.

The food itself is fine, but despite their friendly demeanor, the service seems inexperienced and sometimes loses its focus. Prices are a bit on the high side, but that's not really a problem. Perhaps an exception, but our table was sticky. It had been cleaned, but perhaps the wrong cleaning supplies were used. Overall, a positive review.

We're used to Miss Tok in Didam, and when you get this delivered from Ede, it's really disappointing. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of what we normally get from Didam, but I don't think the chicken there is fried in the deep fryer, and in Ede, I'm sure it's fried to extremes. Inedible. A waste of money. Besides, they make an effort to present it decently in Didam. In Didam, you get your food on paper plates with old lettuce.

Nice, large parking spaces in a particularly beautiful setting. The atmosphere is great. We received prompt and friendly service. Two buttery-tender steaks on a grill stone, with all the necessary accessories. We will definitely be back.

An excellent restaurant with very nice service for over 20 years

Last time, we didn't have our meal after an hour and a half, so we left. Today, we reserved a table for 6:30 pm to give them another chance. After the starter, we waited an hour, and at 7:50 pm we asked where our food was. Then it still had to be prepared, and from 8:00 pm onwards, we were completely ignored by the staff. No more "Miss Tok" for us, such a shame.

Went to Miss Tok for the first time. The food was fantastic. It was very busy, but the food arrived very quickly. We were helped by a very sweet lady. She was super friendly and very kind to my son, even though she works, she balances work and being with children very well. She's simply the best. My compliments to her. ❤️❤️❤️Her name is Coco.

I will start with the pros: - Chicken was tasty. But salty. Be aware of you have special diet with salt. They put salt everywhere. The fries was salty, chicken soup as well. I love salty food so I enjoyed it - Plenty and free parking space - Nice atmosphere and outdoor area Here are the cons : - You are not allowed to share food. I was about to buy one large portion and share. But it is not allowed. - Staff are not helpful. I asked the wifi password and he said, "I have no idea". That's it! Not even try to asked his supervisor. I decided to use my mobile data instead. - Ordered soup for my 2 y.o son because he was starving and loved soup. Served fast. But then waiting for 45 minutes for chicken. Turned that they wait for my son to finish his soup then served the chicken for us. Ridiculous. They saw that only my son eating that soup and we wait for the chicken. They should ask first. I was dissatisfied - Salty food. For a claim "the tastiest chicken in the Netherlands", I disagree. The famous chicken from Barneveld, B*RN**S has better taste and price. If you come only for good food. This place is good. If you are with kids especially toddler, and looking for a good service instead of atmosphere, this place is not recommended. 2 stars because of the good smoky flavor from the chicken. NB: I am an expats and I eat chicken with bare hands. If you do the same, be ready to be "judged" by people looking at you with strange looking.

The service itself does live up to the company's name. They're running around like headless chickens. They had absolutely no overview. Luckily, we could order our drinks ourselves using the QR code, but unfortunately, dinner couldn't be ordered via the code. Fries were forgotten with the main course, and the waiter said, "Oh, I have to check if that's included"... um, what? Then a few raw fries were thrown in there too. They don't come for help or do anything else. They do try to clear your table even though you haven't finished your meal. The food was very mediocre. The service was poor. The atmosphere wasn't great. When paying, the atmosphere inside seemed better. The girl at the cash register was incredibly friendly.

This afternoon we wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace. We sat there for over 10 minutes, but were completely ignored. The staff walked around with little enthusiasm. When people sat next to us and were helped almost immediately, we'd had enough and left. Even that went unnoticed!

After 12 years, this is the last time we'll eat here. What a disgrace! The piri-piri chicken was bone dry. The chicken salad was just a few pieces of chicken cut from a grilled sausage and dry lettuce with no dressing. The stew was tasteless. The Chardonnay was thankfully good, but you can't fault it. The staff was clueless, didn't understand anything, and didn't want to do anything. Where have all the old staff gone? There was a singer on the terrace who was screaming (at least, that's what we noticed). In short, never again Miss Tok.

We were a bit hesitant after reading the recent reviews. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time. The food arrived quite quickly, and the drinks quickly. The food is of good quality and tasted delicious. The dessert menu took a bit longer, but it also arrived quickly. Pirri-pirri chicken contains bone, meaning it's made up of different parts of the chicken: legs, breast, and wing. So, to say it's more bone than meat is an exaggeration. Sometimes it's a bit difficult to get in touch with the staff, as they have different roles. The wait wasn't too bad if you speak to them.

We ordered the three-course menu before 7 p.m. We had to ask for our soup ourselves at 8 p.m. We had to ask for our dessert ourselves at 9:15 p.m. while they were watching us outside, because the kitchen normally closed at 8 p.m. If you mention it when they ask how it was when you pay, you don't even get an apology or acknowledgement. Not recommended, especially not with small children!

My disabled daughter and I had another wonderful meal. Everything was excellent, and to top it all off, waitress Evelien arranged for my daughter to peek into the kitchen behind a glass door. Eten werd langzaamaan koud daar we op bestek moesten wachten na 2 keer gevraagd te hebben. Kipfilet was droog en erg hard niet te snijden, de saus was champignons soep verdikt. De biefstuk op steen was al overgaar en steen redelijk richting lauw. Bestelden bakje patat erbij kregen we niet. Broodplank werd op de hoek van de tafel neergeplant. Tafel smerig muziek erg hard waardoor mensen harder gingen praten. Alles plakte en vond het er ook een beetje stinken.

We recommended simply choosing the next restaurant on your list. We had a great time at the table, even with a two-hour wait.

Nice location on the Ginkelse Heide. Although it wasn't incredibly busy and there were plenty of staff present, we had to constantly struggle to get their attention, which is a shame. The food was fine, but not worth returning for.

Delicious chicken, but you don't have to charge for the sauces separately, which is a bit of a shame. You could give one sauce for free or adjust the menu price, but you shouldn't charge for every sauce. The rice isn't tasty, but it could use a bit more flavor.

We are customers for more than 14 years. We come back with pleasure every time..we are painted every year with a gift card. Of course it can happen that the staff is more busy than estimated. But there is always a solution. Good ratio between quality and price...

The taste was good, but the chicken was really dry.

We were welcomed by some kind of clown at the entrance, we were seated at a table where the branches of the fence were poking our necks, we might as well have rolled around in the forest on the ground. Then the menus were thrown on the table as if they wanted to beat us to death with those cards, it makes absolutely no sense. We ordered the baguette and the carpaccio, the carpaccio was mediocre and there were about 3 kilos of lettuce thrown on it that tasted like it had been rotting in the cellar for 3 years, we might as well have dived into the restaurant's waste bin because it wouldn't have made any difference in terms of taste. Then the starter was taken from the table and after about 5 minutes some stone with a raw piece of steak on it suddenly came walking towards us, the steak was stuck to the stone like a cat and was raw, it also tasted like the entire North Sea had been dumped in salt, if I had felt like eating salty food I would have taken a bite out of the sea because that would probably taste better than this junk. The chicken piri piri was more like bone piri piri, had half the backbone of that damn chicken on my plate. We ordered the spicy version, got a bowl of oil with food coloring, there was no spiciness to be found, might as well have eaten a bottle of olive oil. And then the fries, we weren't happy about that either. Tasted like it had been fried 3 times just to stay warm. And finally the service, didn't even come close to 'tasting the food', grumpy bunch there. I understand that you are underpaid but at least pretend you still like it a bit, bunch of wimps. For us this is a 1x and never again. The only plus point was the atmosphere but we brought that ourselves and this whole store had no influence on that. Ball tent.

Father's Day, made a mistake to make a reservation at Juffrouw Tok in Ede. It started with a long queue, despite the fact that we had made a reservation. Ordering drinks went quite smoothly, but the request for ice cubes for the lukewarm drinks was quite a task and was only resolved after asking 4 times, more than half an hour). Made a reservation at 6 pm, it is now a quarter to eight, and still no food!!!!! So we wait a little longer, the food has to be admirably good to make up for this very bad experience!!!! The food was downright bad, after more than 2.5 hours we got what we had ordered. Spare rubs, satay, schnitzel and fries were cold, or lukewarm. Taste, what kind of taste, no taste at all. Paying?? We also waited there for more than 20 minutes until someone saw light on the horizon and understood that we were not waiting for the bus. All we heard were complaints around us!! Two families with small children had also been waiting for over 2 hours, we gave them our fries. Fortunately, there was an employee who understood what was going on, and we only had to pay for the drinks we consumed. You understand that for us it was the first and also the last time, they will never see us again. It was a real disgrace, what should have been a pleasant evening turned into a dramatic father's day, thanks Tok!!!

Tonight on Father's Day you think you're going to have a nice dinner at Miss Tok's... Well, not at all, sat for 2.5 hours and saw NO food after waiting so long. REALLY SCANDALOUS, the whole Father's Day dinner was ruined and so we decided to cook at home. The service was very friendly though.

- First time was fine, tasty chicken and on the table fairly quickly. - Second time a very unpleasant situation arose when we arrived with a larger group. It was explicitly stated that the food could not be shared. This was decided for us just like that. After reporting this to the team leader, they said that otherwise they could close the tent. In any case, I double-checked this and it was not just a specific employee's fault. - Third time unfortunately also dramatic. Now the food takes 2 hours to arrive. Now the negative experiences unfortunately take over. I would eat somewhere else.

Delicious chicken for an affordable price. Don't expect anything fancy but just good basic service with really friendly staff who do their best. The chicken is unsurpassedly delicious! The steak is also highly recommended if you want something different. Because it is surprisingly good!

Great place for having some grilled piri-piri chicken. The ambience is really gezellig and the terrace has a great view of the fields. The service is great, very friendly. The restaurant is located in the middle of the highway and with a "farm style". The chicken is always tender with crispy skin, flavoured by the piri-piri. You just cannot get enough of it. Plus, it's pet-friendly, and has a big parking place (cars and bikes). Perfect for a date, a regular evening dinner, or some group dinner!

Very tasty food for reasonable prices. Children's menus can be chosen from various options with a snack, fries, mayonnaise, apple sauce and a surprise. Different choices for adults. Chicken piri piri and satay are recommended. Also delicious with fries. Enough choice of drinks, starters and desserts. We sat outside and it was lovely. Staff is friendly, everything comes quickly without feeling rushed. We would definitely like to come back!

It is an old barn, full of tables, dark and old-fashioned. Staff can be described as vague, to put it plainly. They call themselves “the tastiest chicken restaurant in the Netherlands”, which I think is a bluff. We all ordered the piri piri chicken. We were given a metal bowl with a load of chicken pieces, and that was all it was. It was not appealing and a boring meal.

The piri piri chicken is great. Tasty food at a good price. The vegetarian eater was also very happy with her lasagna. And always friendly service!
