What a lovely place! We enjoyed the location, the service, and the delicious food.

Too bad there weren't any lockers! And the location is a bit sketchy. But it has a great atmosphere!!

Kaap is a hidden beach pavilion near the dike. We celebrated ADE here; it was fun, loud music, and great, relaxed people. The location itself isn't convenient; there are no lockers, but there is a container outside for jackets. A shame for the party, but it didn't kill the vibe despite the thunderstorms and all. I'll definitely visit again this summer to discover the real Kaap. For now, 3 stars.

A cozy and unconventional venue for dining and dancing. During the day and evening, you can enjoy delicious food here, and there are frequent evening parties with a DJ who takes the crowd to heavenly heights and gets their feet dancing.

Great for a group, but getting to its location is like going on a mission to the edge of the earth. You literally run out of road to get there 🤣. Staff were friendly, if maybe a bit slow. Beers were cold, fries were hot and the sun was shining. Fun, but unlikely to return.

Kaap Amsterdam seemed full of promise on the website. It's a lovely place to relax in such a setting, with a cozy and colorful interior and some creative art outside. It was a shame that the location isn't actually on the water (no view or access), so the 6-year-old who accompanied us had to leave his swimsuit in his bag. The terrace was okay, the service friendly, but the menu was really limited. I think it would be nice in the evening at sunset with a drink (maybe even several), but not during the day with a child.

De Kaap is a great location with a relaxed beach bar vibe. When we arrived, it was almost empty, so we sat outside. What was confusing was that some spots on the terrace had service, others didn't, without clear communication. Unfortunately, there was no service, and only when we went inside were we told that there was limited food available due to delivery issues. We ordered three different beers, but they were placed on a step without explanation—we had to figure out which beer was which ourselves. It later turned out that the "hamburger" we ordered was a vegan version, which wasn't listed on the menu. Fortunately, it was surprisingly delicious, as were the nachos. Despite the frequent live performances, it was quiet this time—a little background music would have really helped the atmosphere. The service was very friendly.

The place could be nice, but it's really bad. The food is priced absurdly for what you get. The staff is nice, but the owner isn't.

If it were possible to have a negative review, it would be great, as one star is still too much for this place.

Nice place next to the ring A10 (s114). Beach vibes, plenty of room, cozy corners and sparkling colors. Unfortunately you can’t really swim here. Staff is enthusiastic and hard working. Prices reflect current market rates. But… only ordering at the bar?

The place is beautiful. We had a good time there except about a very annoying situation. We were there 13/07 for a Brazilian party. Tb e lunch was a feijoada. We bought it for almost 20€ per person and the plate was poorly assembled, but ok. We eat and the taste was ok. We noticed that we didn’t have couve and vinagrete 2 types of side dish. And we thought was too expensive for a plate almost empty with rise, 3 little pieces of meat and rise. But, ok. Then we saw other people with the same feijoada but fully of food, with the 2 side dish. So, we went to complain and the guy, I think is the owner wanna have a discussion with my husband. He wanted to argue instead of rewarding. It was super uncomfortable. We were there because a mistake of them, I have the pics to prove it. He solved giving 1 beer for free to my husband. Terrible situation. Y ou can see the first pic is my meal and the others is to another person’s there…

Unfortunately, it was a mediocre experience. We were a group of 11 people. There were two other larger groups, and we could only order fries and pizza. There was no option to get fresh food. This wasn't communicated beforehand; the website shows a completely different menu. We ended up paying a hefty price, so we won't be returning. The children, however, had a great time on the spacious grounds.

When you arrive you think what is this now. But when you enter and the terrace that makes up for it.

Unsociable, no music. And no service "due to crowds" (not), you had to order at the bar yourself.

I start by asking WHY? Dear owner, you have a great location, amazing patio, the place is not too busy, you have a playground for children, you even have friendly people working for you, which is not common in this country... BUT come one...the service is basically ZERO, one must order for themselves, 25% of the items on the menu were not available at 5 pm on a Sunday, and they managed to make us wait an extra 30 min just to deliver krokets. Such a pity...

The food is low quality and overpriced. There is no indication anywhere that this is vegan/ vegetarian only. The service is dreadful because there are not enough people working. It has a lot of space for kids to play, and a laid back atmosphere. Just turn this into a lounge bar/ dance occasion and scrap the restaurant.

Beautiful venue, great atmosphere. But if you offer food and you charge 20 euro for hamburgers try to be fair to your customers.

The location seems very nice in good weather. However, the food is of a very low standard, comparable to that of a football canteen, but less tasty and at high prices. Apart from the fries, a large part of the food was not touched, including two main courses of €21 and two half burgers of €19 each. Nobody even thought of asking if the food was to their liking. We are not fussy eaters and we like cozy cafes, but this really made no sense. The prices raise certain expectations, which are not met at all. The bitterballen for the children were gone, and you had to get your own drinks. This also applied to the dirty menu, consisting of stained paper on a clipboard on which some choices had been crossed out. Of the various ice creams, only one was present, a pear ice cream. Fortunately, my mother's birthday party was nice, but that was absolutely not due to this catering establishment. When we entered, after twenty minutes we asked at the bar what the intention was. No welcome, no hello, nice that you are here, let alone a congratulations. It was not the girl behind the bar, she did her best, but you can't handle everything on your own. Hopefully they will get a bit of a sense of reality about price/quality ratio in the future.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome straight away. The atmosphere was cosy and perfect for a relaxing evening out. I will definitely be back and recommending it to friends!

Celebrated my birthday on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Kaap with approximately 80 guests (young and old). They fit in effortlessly, partly because of the beautiful weather and the nice terrace of the Cape. Another event was taking place at the same time, but (also) it mixed without any problems. Cape is a golden place with a nice rusty edge. My guests and I enjoyed a wonderful, pleasant and relaxing afternoon.

Didn't Dine, only snacks and drinks, this review is about the service (& bitterballen) Wow what an amazing job does MiMi & her team pull of here. Just with her behind the bar and a colleague in the kitltchen they gave us an amazing time. Unfortunately the sound system was glitching only because of a small cable that the owner is too lazy to repair (I figure). To be fairly honest that was the only 'smetje' on our evening, twisting the cable multiple time AND managing the bar at the same time, I don't know how MiMi did it. Probs to the team, but owners, please get your music system (mostly cable and ipad) fixed, so easy, so cheap and so much fun if you do. Also change the bitterballen, there are so much more better ones out there. PS. This is my longest review, but your staff deserves it.

Great location, great atmosphere and surroundings! 🥰 The food offering is very limited and the quality is poor! Only hamburgers, toasted sandwiches, loose fries and a menu (hamburger vs fries) were available. This menu cost €19,- waaaaaat 😢 Why do you offer this horrible food on a Brazilian evening? Be creative and make sure everyone eats! 🥣 Come with Brazilian food for example 🤟 Let's not talk about the enormous prices in general, what they charge is downright ridiculous! 1 beer €6 and 1 single sandwich (not even two slices of bread on top of each other) 5 euros and it was exactly the same as I make it at home. A plain toasted sandwich and that was it. A Caipirinha was €16 🙈 You don't have to write home about the food. These were limp fries, not even with skin to offer a bit of luxury and distinction, and served with something else. Hoppa, throw the fries in a brown wooden bowl and that's it with a mini bowl of mayonnaise. So please do something about the prices and food selection! At the Boy Scouts club they make even better food….

My favorite spot in Amsterdam. Beach vibe, perfect place to go with my son and play in the sand. I also like to stick around for a drink, a snack and a dance (until the late hours). It's all possible at Kaap. Delicious! Casual, colorful and varied.

Probably a nice place in the summer, but completely unsuitable for a business event in November. It was cold inside (heating off) even with a coat on, frozen, presentation facilities substandard, toilets smell of damp and mold, 60 people having drinks with only 1 man behind the bar, just too few staff, a very long wait for drinks. Not recommended in cold months.

Absolutely love this place! It’s super friendly for both kids and pets, which makes it a perfect spot for the whole family. The samba event here is hands down the best in Amsterdam! They also serve a Brazilian drink called caipirinha – it’s a must-try! The owner and the crew are fantastic, bringing great energy and a warm vibe to every visit. Highly recommend!

Very nice place, which feels like a beach bar, to have a drink on the outskirts of Amsterdam. It was late summer and happened to be a warm day. Kids can play outside, such as jumping on a trampoline. There was a party going on, so we couldn't order any food except fries, but the gin and tonic was very tasty ;-)

They really think along with you here. They helped us enormously in the preparation for a birthday surprise. She arranged everything down to the last detail! Had very nice contact with them by email, telephone and app! It's also a great place to go with good food and drinks! RECOMMENDED!

We were there during the Amphib week, only had vegan food, and when they found out that this was not sold, you got a hot dog with some fries for 19 euros. bad service. We had dinner there on the last evening of our event, and that was good, but luckily they didn't make it themselves, it came from Ceteraar.

A good place to eat, drink or throw a party, the staff is happy to think along with you

In some of the Google Maps photos, you'll spot a vintage Beetle car transformed into a giant metal-framed spider, that is actually situated at the entrance of the site; a fitting piece of art considering the restaurant is filled with spider webs, and thrived well-fed spiders. If you're not a fan of these eight-legged creatures or don't enjoy the feeling of their webs brushing against your legs as you settle under a table or walk through a door, this might not be the place for you. However, if that doesn't bother you, this place is wonderfully laid-back, quirky and authentic gem. While the food might not be extraordinary, the service is great!

Went by on Friday, August 9, 2024 around 8:30 PM. They didn't appear to be open. The website and Google said it was open and I believe you could even make a reservation through the reservation system. I wouldn't go unless they answered the phone.

Nice place and nice place to sit. I came to recharge during a bike ride. Nice location!

I went here with my young dog (under a year) on a leash. We were attacked by a very aggressive border terrier off leash, the owner was nowhere to be seen. The dog kept growling, snarling and lunging at my dog, I pushed it away and it bit my hand viscously, drawing blood and ripping off skin. I wasn’t going to let my dog get bitten, so I kicked this dog away from us as it snarled and kept gnashing its teeth. At this moment the waitstaff intervened to tell me off for attacking a dog, then they saw my bleeding hand and (finally) realised that my dog was on leash and we were being attacked. The owner of the dog appeared and seeing the damage said nothing and quickly fled the scene. The waitstaff helped me with my wound, but one waiter came to my table to give me a lecture about how “stupid” it was to let myself get bitten! The dog attacking us was unprovoked and followed us. As my dog is young and on leash, he can’t defend himself and we were cornered. I don’t want my dog to learn fear-based aggression. I didn’t want my dog to be badly wounded on his face. It was a traumatic situation and I acted in the moment, first to avoid conflict and finally in desperate defense without help from onlookers. I have seen this man at open air cafes and festivals before, letting his dog roam unsupervised. I made a police statement. If you see this man and his dog, please be careful!

It’s a nice place and really enjoyed once when they had samba music playing but I reserved recently and the service took ages they didn’t tell me before hand that they had a party in the place they also didn’t make clear that it’s a vegan restaurant Ava it wasn’t at all easy for my gluten free friends to find something to eat as it’s not so well indicated on the menu would NOT recommend for meat lovers or allergy prone people! To clarify I would go to this venue for events or a drink but not for a meal really it’s not really that vibe

We thought...hmmm wrong place maps, where the hell did we end up. Maarrrrr Hello, take the time to walk in and you will feel like you are in a real trendy beach bar with a great terrace!!! Something Amsterdam they can be proud of!!! I'll be back! (I'm actually not a fan of Amsterdam)

At the end of the horizon lies the Cape city beach. What a warm, nice place. Food is delicious and has love as the most important ingredient. All the people who work there are friendly with an eye for detail. Owner Stefano is a textbook host.

If you are a wonderer, a soul that needs a different spark, this is the place to visit. It’s incredibly different, family and child friendly. But also a very different kind of place if you just happened to be lost and find yourself in there alone by pure coincidence. It’s a place that feels like home for those who are home where their heart is.

Food took a very long time, the attendant simply forgot about us, then we had to wait a very long time for our food. I asked the employee if I could add arugula to my burger, but I still got it with arugula. I returned the burger and had to wait a very long time again. There was also a long wait for the bread... I also ordered a large beer and got a small one. Also had to wait a very long time for the bill, we were forgotten again. The waiter came to us to tell us that we have to leave and pay the bill even though we had already been waiting for 20 minutes. Then we could not pay at the table but at the bar due to poor communication between the employees. And it wasn't busy at all. It's scandalous how customers are treated here
