We have never experienced anything this bad before, coffee €5 which is not worth it at all, apple pie from the freezer defrosting under a heat lamp as dry as ten others and unfriendly staff

Lovely spot with a view of the water and boats. A fairly simple place with good food, fast and efficient service, and affordable. Free parking nearby.

We ordered two tournedos and one sirloin steak, so you should expect perfection if you ask for medium rare. When they arrived, all three were overcooked. According to the chef, who argued with the staff, he had cooked them with the thermometer and they should have been cooked perfectly! Easy answer! In my opinion, medium is rare and undercooked or not. In the end, we only received the sirloin steak again and free coffee because the waitress wasn't feeling comfortable with it. Such a shame for this lovely location. Perhaps the owner should speak to his staff about this!

Outside, there was a sign advertising a "special," but it was no longer available. So, we had two croquettes with bread. The croquettes were lukewarm and tasted like they'd been fried in stale grease. We'd really liked an Affligem, but the lady returned with the message that the barrel was empty. So, we had a Texels Skuumkoppe. A regular Texels Skuumkoppe, at €7, which was ridiculous. When we left, the "special" sign was still there. The location was great, and we were sitting in the lovely sunshine. But this was the first and last time we'd been there.

Terrible place! They didn't even have many dishes, otherwise they would be moldy, they said. Fries undercooked. Chicken satay was inedible, prawn crackers were old. Lots of mosquitoes in the place. And if the Baileys is out of date, you know what kind of place it is. They should have included a toilet roll for the next day.

I don't usually post reviews, but what we just experienced is definitely worth a review. After making our choice, we were told they didn't have tournedos. So, we went for the sirloin steak. No, sorry, we don't have that either. So, we went for the chicken thigh satay. It turned out to be not chicken thigh, but just dry chicken breast. I mentioned this to a waitress, and she said, "Yeah, that happens. It's just what we get." I told her they shouldn't put it on the menu as chicken thigh satay. She said I should have told her so I could choose something else. I pointed out they didn't have half of it, and that the selection was very limited. There was absolutely no solution. She did check with the chef, and it turned out to be chicken breast. But of course, we already knew that. It wasn't marinated, just a little seasoning. Furthermore, it was quite an effort to order a drink. Either they just walked by, or one of them was already expressing her displeasure about everything. It's clear to us that this was the first and certainly the last time.

What an uninviting, unappetizing restaurant. The schnitzel wasn't crispy, it had a soggy, limp crust, and the sauce was watery. We asked for some creamy pepper sauce, and the chef literally yelled at us. 🤯 The fries seemed like they'd been overcooked twice, too hard and too greasy... bizarre. The piccalilli that was supposed to come with my husband's schnitzel wasn't there. We'd been warned, there were lots of mosquitoes in the restaurant. Sitting outside wasn't an option. That's where the visitors from the Maasboulevard barbecue, and the dogs run around and leave their droppings... understandably, their boss has to clean it up. I heard the employee/boss say at 8:15 PM that they weren't hiring anymore because they were done with it. They close at 9:30 PM. Our glasses had so many ice cubes that the drinks we put in them were incredibly cold... not tasty. A waitress was very friendly. A visitor from outside asked to use the restroom. €2...I understand. She said, "Have an ice cream then. €1, and the restroom is free." No, not us again. A waitress also had holes in her shirt, clearly visible under her armpit...not fresh. I was shocked the moment I walked in.

It's a lovely spot along the waterway. The food itself is fine. The service, however, could use a bit more flair. Despite the restaurant being open until 9:30 PM, we were unfortunately told at 7:45 PM that the kitchen was already closed. A bit of a shame if you want to order something on a beautiful summer evening.

Unfortunately, I tried to eat here again. The food tastes good, but that's really the only positive. The service is slow. My husband's food was cold, his fries were half full, and the mayonnaise seemed to have come from another table. He got a new one, but then his pork satay skewer had been replaced with two chicken satay skewers, though still hot. It's such a shame about the location, and that you know it could be better but it just doesn't work.

Upon arrival, we were ignored for three minutes before finally being allowed to sit somewhere in the restaurant. After drinks were placed on the table and we had to share them ourselves, we were handed the dinner menu. The staff were constantly at the bar on their phones with their backs to the guests, which made ordering an extra drink very difficult. After waiting thirty minutes in a nearly empty restaurant, our food finally arrived, with the cutlery being smacked on the table. Furthermore, the food was very dry, and we couldn't finish the vegetabl satay. The spareribs seemed to have been deep-fried, the bread with the soup was literally black, and the garnish was...uh...unusual. Complaining was impossible, because the staff wasn't looking. And that's not even mentioning the countless mosquitoes and flies. Not again for us.

Ordered food but the meat (beef steak) was overcooked and tough, and one dish was not even served until the rest had finished eating, even though there were hardly any customers. A one-off experience and quickly forgotten.

We had made a lunch reservation. We received a reminder that morning. We arrived from The Hague at 12:30, but everything was closed! An employee was sitting at the door saying the restaurant was closed until 5:00 PM. It was incredibly frustrating that we weren't called to let them know our lunch was cancelled. So we had to head straight back to The Hague. What a terrible turn of events...

it's a nice place to visit and have some food in or outside... occasionally I go for a drink and a nice portion of nachos! ...only the opening hours are very limited, especially on hot Summer Days... opening after 12 noon and early closing 8pm? I would explore it differently...

We booked lunch there (via Bongo.nl). I received a confirmation and a reminder that same morning. We drove from The Hague to Schiedam. Once there, the place was closed. No more messages. No one answered the phone. My advice: never plan your meal here! It'll save you a wasted trip.

Well if you have to it is doable but there is still a lot to do. Provide staff and a chef. Now it is actually too bad to eat there. too bad because the location is fine.

Lovely place to sit and look out over the water. Beautiful park around it! We had lunch here and it was very tasty, tomato soup could have been a bit fresher unfortunately. The service was very friendly

The café’s opening hours do not match the ones listed. The waitress was very unfriendly. There were still customers sitting in the café who weren’t in a hurry to leave, but she didn’t even want to sell us drinks to go. And overall, the café was incredibly dirty, there was food all over the floor. I wouldn’t recommend going there.

A nice place to sit outside or inside near the river and with a really nice discovery and playground for the kids a stone's throw away, but on peak days much too long waiting time for your order. After more than 20 minutes there was still no drink. The staff present can probably not do anything about that, but the supposed much too low occupancy on an overcrowded terrace, noticeably does not improve the atmosphere. An empty display case with only 3 identical pieces of cake to choose from as something tasty with the consumption is another disappointment for both the organizer of what should have been a nice family outing and for the rest of the club, who were all well groomed and ready for it, but after this experience also somewhat done with it. Too bad. This can really be improved, because despite quite high prices we like to come here. Please note: parking space is really limited and the main road remains only continuous as a cycle path. Check Maps. Take a stroll along the relaxed boulevard and if you're lucky you might see a HAL ship passing by.

what a mockery, beautiful location, especially like today, when the sun is shining... but unfortunately, the service is below par and then you ask for the menu at 2 p.m., you are told that you can get a sandwich with a bitterbal, because the cook has not purchased anything... ridiculous... last year it was completely fine there... a shame.

During the 20 minutes of waiting, the waitress never came up, although she passed by 6 times. Such a great location and such bad service! It's a pity!

We knew that Kade 17 had not changed hands for very long. And we also knew from the sign outside that staff were being sought. The reception by the waiting staff also made it clear that there was a staff shortage. Despite these circumstances we enjoyed a fantastic lunch. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. I don't think our tip to close some of the tables in case of staff shortages was not well understood. But the staff gets a huge compliment from us. We will definitely go there again.

FANTASTIC! My son celebrated his birthday with dinner at KADE17 and it was in one word… AMAZING! The location alone is unique: a former wheelhouse, beautifully converted into a restaurant on the quay in the harbor. How much fun do you want to have?! What really made this evening special was the exceptional service and passion of the team. Maickel, the chef, clearly goes the extra mile to take pride in his work, and you can taste that in every dish. The service was friendly, attentive and made sure everything went smoothly. In short, a great evening at a top location with delicious food and a great atmosphere. Definitely recommended and definitely worth repeating! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Heerlijk gegeten. Super vriendelijk personeel. Pracht locatie aan het water en vlak naast een mooi park. Diner was keurig verzorgd. Mooie presentatie van het eten, goed stukkie vlees! En toen ik na het diner sprak over de carpaccio kreeg ik die ook nog even om te proeven en die smaakte top!! Op eikenhout gerookt… zo genoten! Eén aanrader voor iedereen die in de buurt van Schiedam komt

Heerlijk gegeten met uitzicht op de Maas. Emily in de bediening is heel vriendelijk en gastvrij en de nieuwe kok Mike kan ik alleen maar complimenteren met de heerlijke gerechten die hij bereidt. Daarbij een ongedwongen sfeer, zodat het voor iedereen een prettige plek is om eens te lunchen of te dineren. Helaas geen foto's gemaakt, maar zal ik de volgende keer zeker doen

Very tasty food, Maickel is a great chef!

We hebben genoten van een overheerlijk 3-gangendiner met de meest mooie creaties en smaaksensaties. Wat heeft chef Mike dit meer dan goed gedaan, oprechte complimenten! De foto’s spreken daarbij voor zich. Het uitzicht is prachtig langs het water ook om lekker naar de boten te kijken, kort gezegd een toplocatie met top eten, wij komen zeker terug!

Chef Mike had weer zijn stinkende best gedaan in de keuken en dat was te proeven, we hebben heerlijk gegeten, vooral de zeebaars was voortreffelijk. Vanuit deze stuurhut heb je uitzicht over de Nieuwe Maas, dus bootjes kijken terwijl je lekker zit te eten. Ik kan Kade 17 van harte aanbevelen.

Heerlijke spot om gezellig een hapje te eten, personeel maakt echt tijd voor je vrij. Hele relaxte sfeer omdat we er ook op zondag waren. Werd niet te snel gereserveerd waardoor je lekker lang aan tafel blijft zitten. Hoofdgerecht was echt ruim met het vlees en de vis. Ook lekkere ‘extra’ koffietjes. Hele lieve mensen hier. Complimenten aan de kok!

First there were the Bears, now there is Kade17. From a distance the restaurant looks good, but oh my, what a mess it is inside. Crying with your hat on. And in every respect too. The chef who doesn't feel like doing anything extra for the customers, several dishes are not even in stock. The service is not experienced enough, the drinks you order are now cold (coffee) when you get them delivered to the table.

Heerlijke keuken met verse producten ! Echt een aanrader. Jij bereid je heerlijke snacks maar laat je verassen door zelf gerookte zalm of een mals stukje vlees!

Went for dinner with a group of 8. I had a 12-hour vegetarian meal with, among other things, zucchini soup and vegetarian croquettes (see photo). All very tasty.

I am a regular visitor of Kade 17, usually the food is good. This time I had spareribs that where old, dry, and burnt a little. Uneatable. I complained and asked for the bill, they charged me the bad food, which I refused to pay. Still had to pay my wife's food however. A decent restaurant would have appologized. They didn't. Not such a word as sorry. Wont go there again.

Very bad, same as last time, motto should be everything is gone and we don't feel like working. The toilets may also be cleaned in between.

After reading the wonderful reviews on social deal, I bought and reserved this deal with great anticipation. If only I had read the bad Google reviews earlier, that would have made a big difference.... Made the drive to Schiedam from The Hague. Parking is free, super nice location. But what a mess this store makes. No active welcome attitude from the staff upon arrival, so we walked over and indicated that we had made a reservation or we could take a seat somewhere. The lunch menu with explanatory appendix was immediately placed on the table, perhaps a warm welcome and starting with drinks would be a better option. Cappucino was hot and delicious. Starter was soup and warm but so edible, not the right temperature in my opinion. As a starter I ordered satay and my companion bread with carpaccio without pine nuts due to allergies. Nothing was written down, but neither was we asked whether we wanted white or brown bread. The waiter came back a few minutes later, there was no satay. Okay, that's a shame, then I'll choose something else. Choice made, steak cheddar please. Nothing was written down here either and the question of brown or white bread was not ordered. Special indeed. The waiter returned a few minutes later: no steak cheddar either. What do you have then??? Chosen for the Kade17 burger. You guessed it... the service came back with the message that there was no old cheese for the burger or that young cheese was also good. The food was brought and my group received their carpaccio on the table with the message "I forgot not to put the seeds on it, please pass it on". I've never experienced anything like this before, how bad. My burger had a sweet bun and the onions were raw instead of caramelized and therefore cheddar as stated on the menu. The fries were really tasty and hot and the mayo was also excellent. A coke on the house for the inconveniences was supposed to cover this disappointment. If you have a choice, definitely don't buy this deal. I strongly advise against this tent and will certainly not return here.

Nice location in terms of view, food itself fine but closed early. Had ordered bread with spreads, it was not enough for 2 people. Ordered a separate sandwich, in the end the entire amount of bread including spreads was on the receipt which we had not received. Still wanted deserts and coffee/tea. Only mint tea was available, iced coffee had run out. But I think the coffee machine had already been cleaned. We were not subtly informed that they were closing in 10 minutes. Ultimately, without desert and accompanying drinks, we paid at 9 p.m. and left. Shame. Inside, the place looked poorly maintained and the toilet was no longer very fresh. Not worth a 2nd visit.

Disappointing lunch, croquettes cold inside (difficult😊), incorrect extra drinks on the bill. service was ok. Terrace is in dire need of renovation. There is much more to get out of it if everything is properly maintained... too bad.

Friday evening, only 2 tables occupied. This detracted from the atmosphere, which was otherwise pleasantly decorated. Food not recommended, price/quality not in proportion. Ribeye for 36.50 and then charge an extra 3.50 euros for the sauce that tasted of nothing and garnished with bonduel frozen vegetables (carrots, peas and beans). The prawns from the starter were clearly thawed and cooked in the microwave and very tough. Ultimately, when we got home, it turned out that the children who had not ordered sauce had been charged for it after all. After a call we were of course able to get it back, but won't go back again. In any case, we won't be going again!

Small and comfortably furnished. Great service. Lunch was delicious. We only got lukewarm tea and coffee. It is solved. Free parking. Water view. Relaxing environment. I don't know what the weather is like. We went in February.

I can't give 3.5 stars so I opted for 4 stars instead. 3 because the lady who served us was extremely customer-friendly and representative. But there is room for improvement. Reception fine without problems. Coffee and tea were lukewarm, this was resolved as it should be. Tomato soup and shrimp soup were excellent. Bouncer and bread with crispy chicken pieces very good. Reported in advance to absolutely not put mushrooms in it. The cook probably wasn't wearing the right glasses. But no problem, toilets are fine. Location very relaxed, especially in summer. The whole establishment looks clean and tidy. Price-quality ratio is good. It was quiet so you hardly had to wait.

Visited this place last week. The view is very relaxing and definitely to take a walk in the area. We had a late lunch here, cheese steak sandwich, and we really liked the steak! We also ordered a apple pie, which was delicious! Would definitely recommend this for breakfast or lunch dates. Overall the food was a 4/5 (we only just had the cheese steak sandwich and apple pie)

Von aussen etwas heruntergekommen, innen sehr schön hergerichtet. Wir waren zum lunch hier. Das essen war supper, sehr schön hergerichtet. Die aussicht mit den vorbeifahrenden schiffen war sehr spannend. Ist gut zu fuss oder mit dem fahrrad zu erreichen.
