On the occasion of a 50th wedding anniversary, a pleasant evening in the hall. Nice cozy location, delicious food, (the salmon was delicious!).

Celebrated our fiftieth wedding anniversary in the halls of Záálig. What a special and cozy evening this has become. The food was very well taken care of. Various small snacks as amuse. Very friendly service, really great. Thank you for this, you made the evening unforgettable.

Zaalig is a super atmospheric and fun place! Friendly staff, delicious food. Casual and open contact, which makes you stay there quietly for an entire afternoon or evening... recommended!

A very cozy place, with delicious food & my favorite drink; the iced coffee with oat milk. The staff is super friendly and you can sit there all day in the sun on the terrace in the summer. Really recommended!!

Food is simply forgotten. Once everyone in the group has eaten, the dish is yet to arrive. We asked if it had been forgotten and the answer was that it still had to be caught. A joke we didn't appreciate. We would have preferred to hear an apology and an honest story. Lousy service!

Today we had lunch for the first time at Záálig in Schiedam and what a wonderful experience! The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. The colorful and warm decor creates a cozy atmosphere in which you immediately feel welcome. Highly recommended for a relaxing and tasty lunch. I'll definitely be back!

Service by inexperienced teenagers, not unfriendly but incompetent. The plates are served from across the table. Clearing the table also involves handing over the used crockery yourself. I had onion soup beforehand. There was nothing to complain about. The bread came with a small plastic tub of butter. I ordered goulash, which vaguely resembled goulash soup, the meat had been cooked so far that it had completely fallen apart and was tasteless. It looked like rope. It was served in a deep plate. The goulash was more like soup. When I asked for the accompanying rösti, it turned out to be already at the bottom of the “soup”. So not served separately. The accompanying salad came in some kind of beer glass and was completely tasteless without any dressing. Given the sad quality of what was offered, I wisely opted out of dessert. I did not return my goulash because I was in a group of 10 people and did not want to be unpleasant. My table companions agreed that it was particularly bad. I used to have a good meal at Zaalig, but now it's downright bad!! Didn't see me at Zaalig again.

Nice terrace, friendly staff, ok for lunch, but not for dinner. Steak rare is almost cooked and cut into strips. Risotto is caked-on paste, normally caused by cream sauce, according to them. was allowed to take another dish, that came when my partner had already had his plate empty for quite some time. Very bad. 70 euros for 4 drinks and 2 main courses and then eat one after the other. It was not a pleasant experience and we will not repeat it.

What lovely, nice people work here and the food and coffee are also delicious. We sometimes come walking from Delft on Sundays, and then it is a real treat to have lunch here on the terrace or eat a piece of butter cake. Highly recommended! :)

The apple pie was very tasty. There was caramel on top, but the coffee arrived much before the apple pie.

Terrace in a beautiful spot in Schiedam..probably not enough staff..long wait for waitress..prices are ridiculous €6.50 for an apple point and 4.50 for mint tea..this is what the terraces for the Elite will be like, very unfortunate

Unfortunately very expensive for what you get. With the fries and croquette you get a mini bowl of fries, less than half of a snack bar portion, and two small oyster mushroom croquettes. The food is tasty, seems homemade so that is very good, but for 14.50 you don't get enough. The blonde lady at the counter was very nice, also very nice for my children. Not very social but genuinely friendly and helpful.

Ate here a few years ago. Then it was ok. Went there again yesterday, but it wasn't great. Salmon was dry and far from "Korean" as announced. Waitress awkwardly dropped the fries and brought the additional fries in a glass cup. No, it was really disappointing. No more delicious for us for the time being.

Have a nice drink here. Friendly young lady poured my Ketel 1 gin at the table with a cup on the glass, as it should be. (In Schiedam you of course drink a gin). Nice location and comfortable seats.

The location is charming and perfect for a relaxing lunch or drink. The service on the terrace is very friendly and attentive. The ladies make sure you feel welcome and your order is taken and served quickly. However, the prices of the snacks are on the high side. A simple ham and cheese sandwich costs €9, which I think is quite pricey for something that is nothing special. While the atmosphere and service are excellent, I would like to see the prices brought more in line with what you get. Definitely a place to enjoy the ambiance, but be aware of the high prices when ordering simple snacks.

Had a lovely seat on the square. Ate two tasty starters. The soup was lukewarm, but tasty. The coconut pannacotta was not a pannacotta and so large it was a meal in itself. Tasty but after half it was done. Quite pricey for what it was.

Portion on the small side for the amount.. (ribs) Fries delicious but also just not enough.. As well as the mayo. It comes in a paper cup. Then you have to 'grab' mayo with both hands, which is a hassle with dirty hands from the spare ribs. Glasses regularly empty and having to call for service... extremely cute teenagers by the way. All this is possible if your ribs cost between 18 and 20 euros... but 25 euros is too much in my opinion.

People at another table were also waiting for so long..... we had to go straight after dinner to get to the theater. If we had wanted to, there would have been no time for dessert, but also no time for a quick chat with a cup of coffee or tea. Also no apologies from the staff at checkout. No more "Blessed" for us. ....

Time planning not in order. Indicated several times - when booking and upon arrival - that we had to go to a performance. We therefore took two hours to eat here. However, this was not enough. It took an hour, 75 minutes, for the privilege to be served. Then we had another twenty minutes to eat the main course. The time schedule is also a problem for other guests. Our server was friendly, but had no substantive knowledge of the profession. The other server was defensive and unfriendly. When we shared our opinion at checkout, I think the manager present responded quite defensively to our finding. The food is meh. Well done steak was not well done. Spare ribs dry. Temperature of the food and wine was good. All in all I don't recommend this place.

I didn't like the food. The Mexican nachos in the oven with the green sauce are nothing. The nachos became very dry and stuck together. And the price of that was a lot. The drinks weren't too bad but also expensive.

Zaalig is located in the historic center and therefore has a unique location. The service is fast and attentive. Ordered a tuna salad and a sandwich for lunch. Tuna salad tasted good. The toast was less so. Two overly thick slices of bread with a slice of ham and melted slice of cheese. Just serve a classic sandwich and keep the price reasonable. Almost 30 euros for two simple sandwiches and two non-alcoholic drinks. I understand that everything is becoming more expensive, but for this lunch price-quality was seriously out of balance.

The food was okey. Overall I would give it a 7. I had the tuna salad, which was fresh but a little too sour in the end. I couldn’t seem to finish it. The presentation was beautiful and n the atmosphere is really relaxing and welcoming in the hart of schiedam. They serve a butter cookie with their coffee, which was to die for. Nice wine and gin and tonic, but the service was not that good. A bit awkward and at the end we really got the feeling that they wanted us away. They arrived at 10 p.m. for the last round, while the tent closes at 11 p.m.
