Great restaurant and super good food! Lots of different small dishes, all of which were super tasty and of very good quality. Highly recommended and definitely worth a visit! I can recommend the house beer with your meal.

Nice discovery, but we are closer to good brasserie cuisine than to gourmet cuisine. Very good service, very nice decor. But where it gets stuck is at the concept/price level. Booked through a social deal, which gave us a choice menu for fish, meat and vegetarian options. The environment is warm and cozy. The service is super top. This man deserves an extra star for his attentiveness, hospitality and friendliness, not to mention his knowledge of what he serves. Carpaccio starter, nothing to complain about. Main course pike-perch for me and diamond tenderloin for my wife. The diamond tenderloin is tasty, but the smoke flavor dominates, which is a shame. Because my neighbor also said something about this, we did not do this, one comment about this is sufficient. The clerk resolved the issue nicely by offering something else. We already had it and if you have anything to complain about, you shouldn't eat it. Dessert really delicious. If I can give one tip about this, the pannacotta should be less firm, slightly looser for a better mouth feeling. All in all, very good. Service very friendly and helpful. Food (pork belly and scallops) was a bit on the salty side and we thought the cocktails were a bit too expensive for what you get. Wines are well in proportion. As a tip, I would make the portions of the shared dining a bit smaller and cheaper so that you can actually share more. Now, 3 dishes were sufficient for us, but we would have liked to try more of the other dishes, but we would have had enough.

We had a super delicious meal at Restaurant de Kastanje. There is a shared dining offer, but if you don't want to share, that is also possible. About €50-70 per person, so fine for dinner. It was one half-raw “satee” (diamond fillet?!) 18 euros, small plate of poorly garnished carpaccio 15.5 euros, undercooked fries with black pieces 4.5 euros without sauce, and much too expensive stripes of spare ribs (how easy , always cooked and it can be expensive) 16eu. Glad that the lady serving advised to “order according to taste and appetite”… this prevented another dish from being added. The feedback given was decently received. Conclusion: no wonder it was and is so quiet, I advise everyone not to go, there are plenty of much better alternatives in the center.

We try not to spoil the atmosphere, but unfortunately we do that by pouring all the sauce over the steaks, which became almost invisible due to the large amount of sauce or the small amount of tenderloin. Really too expensive! Had dinner at the chestnut last night. At checkout my friend was unpleasantly surprised. Once I got home I looked at the receipt. Even before we received the menu, we were asked if we wanted a sandwich and some olives (which we thought were from home) were on the bill. (11.50, well okay then) We had to wait a very long time in the hallways. Furthermore, in addition to normal drinks, I drank a few carafes of water for which 4 euros were charged (normal tap water). There was a lot of sauce with the dishes. We asked for some more bread. This is what we got... 4 pieces (again it was for 7 euros!! (without 'spreads')) The food itself was tasty, but small portions where vegetables and fries had to be ordered separately. Unfortunately for the chestnut, but we really felt ripped off and will certainly not come here again! And another tip for the blonde waitress; don't try to be 'funny' all the time.

Especially as social deal customers where you don't want to pay too much. We were also asked if we were in a hurry while we just wanted to order the second course. Paying just over 80 euros extra was a lot if you had already paid for the meals. There was a surcharge for some courses. It was mentioned, but it might be better to indicate what is allowed for the social deal price. Not very clear. Including 1 tasty house wine and 1 unpleasant grigio house wine of 27 euros.
