If you like cats, this is the right place for you and you absolutely have to visit this café. The food is very tasty and the cats are sweet. However, you should definitely keep an eye on your food.

It was nicely decorated but very expensive and when we went to pay we had to pay an additional 5 euros per person.

It was a nice place but it was very expensive and there were only a few cats. We also had to pay an extra 5 euros per person during the holidays. Be careful! There is nothing about entrance on the normal website. Look up entrance because otherwise you have to pay more without knowing.

Everything was pretty mediocre. It's certainly not the cats' fault. I ordered an iced latte and a slice of homemade carrot cake. The latte was mostly milk and a tiny bit of coffee. Worse still, the topping on my carrot cake had curdled. I left half of it for that reason. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she completely ignored me! I didn't feel like making a scene, so I left it as is, but I definitely won't be back.

Who doesn't love to drink a warm coffee while petting a cute cat?! This place is like a heaven for cat/coffee lovers. They also sell very nice cat related products, a perfect choice for gifting. The service is friendly and patient. ❤️

Such a lovely little cafe. The strawberry smoothie, in particular, is a dream come true. So refreshing and delicious, you can't get enough of it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy, and the cats add a special touch. The menu is clear and has something for everyone. Prices are reasonable. What a great cat cafe! I went here with my grandma and it is great fun for all ages. We had the high tea, lots of delicious food and definitely filling, we even had some left at the end, so it is definitely worth your money! 💕 The cats are super friendly, staff too. It is located in the middle of the city of Groningen and it is not a very far walk from the station (about 15 minutes). I recommend making a reservation in advance, it fills up quite quickly and then you can't just walk in for a table. Making a reservation is easy, if there is something wrong with the reservation you can send an email and it will be adjusted as soon as possible. Everything was great. The cats were also very cute, they can retreat when it gets too busy and sometimes come to you. But be careful with whipped cream.😉 Upon entering, they explain how to deal with the cats and there is also a booklet that shows which cat is which, the name, how much he wants to cuddle with you, etc. Best cat cafe ever! 💗

I visited the cat café in Groningen with my toddler, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience on all levels. From the moment I entered, I was treated in a completely unprofessional manner. The staff member immediately told me where to sit without asking or allowing me to choose for myself. In any respectable café or restaurant, the customer chooses where they want to sit not the staff. When I ordered a coffee, she responded coldly and dismissively by saying, “Just coffee?”, as if my order was not good enough. This is not professional behavior. A customer orders what they want it’s not up to the staff to judge or question it. The most shocking moment came when she refused to let me feed my toddler a homemade sandwich, even though he’s only one and a half years old. It’s clear that a child that young won’t find suitable food options on a regular café menu. Had I ordered the sandwich from them, it wouldn’t have been an issue which shows how arbitrary and unreasonable her reaction was. What made it worse was that during a previous visit, I was with my Dutch friend, and she was feeding her daughter a homemade sandwich in full view of the same staff member, who said absolutely nothing. The double standard in how I was treated was obvious: I was treated differently simply because I don’t look Dutch. As for the prices: I ordered a small coffee, which was listed at €4.50, but I was charged €5.50. When I asked why, I was told it was an “entry fee”something that was never clearly communicated to me beforehand. Charging an extra fee without informing the customer in advance is simply unacceptable. Honestly, this was a deeply unpleasant experience, and I will never return under any circumstances. I strongly urge the management to reconsider how their staff are trained, especially in customer service, cultural sensitivity, and dealing with parents of young children. This place is in serious need of more humanity and professional respect.

Nice cafe with nice cats who all have their own character. We quickly came in for a drink and the host gave us some sweets to attract the cats. Nice places to sit and well located. Recommended: the homemade ice tea

Had a nice drink and a bite to eat among the cats in the cat café. Nice initiative, and fun to read about the personalities of the cats present. It is expensive though, more than thirty euros for two drinks and scones.

It was alright, the food wasnt anything special. The cats were cute but they were just minding their own business the whole time so not very playful. Other than that the atmosphere is nice and cozy.

Lock out! Our two Bouviers were not welcome here. Believe me. You have never seen such sweet dogs with cats. Of course they playfully run to the cats, but that usually passes after 20 minutes. If you pretend to be an animal then it is inappropriate to exclude our little ones.

The cat café is not too big and very cozy with very sweet and lovely cats. Of course, it is justified to spend a little more on the cats. Unfortunately, the whole thing is now quite expensive (the price photos from 7 years ago are out of date and the prices have more than doubled). As a family of five with three children, (wholesome, tasty and nicely presented) bread for lunch with a drink each + weekday entry cost us a total of €90. You can do it... But you should just be aware of that.

Cats are cute and all. We paid 23 EUR for two drinks and a cake. Two girls were annoying the cats with kissing them, the girls walked to our table all the time to disturb us and the sleeping cats. The cats moved and they continued disturbing them. The staff did nothing and accepted this behaviour.

The managers were talking so loud, and were being a bit rude to the servers, so the atmosphere got a bit tense.

Great! We were here for the second time today with our two daughters aged 8 and 12. We come here especially because our two girls absolutely love cats, and we already have a sweet dog, but no cats. And of course we see this as our joint outing, which is relaxing and the children really enjoy it. It just feels good to be able to support both you and the animals in this way. And we had a beautiful afternoon. I read a lot of comments that people think it is too expensive. Well, what is expensive? Rent, staff, the cats and their food. You also help the animals, and we are happy to pay a little more than at other catering establishments; it's just win-win. We are happy and the cats are happy.

Great fun. Sweet cats, good food. Pleasant service. Warning, the extensive high tea is also really extensive. ;-) We had a VIP package and enjoyed it. According to my daughter it was the nicest evening ever. And that was before we went wild in the corner with cute cat gadgets. In short, for us it was really a holiday outing in combination with a hotel stay.

Me and a friend of mine had been here recently and were also really excited to come here for lunch as we both love cats. If you wanted to come in you had to ring a bell and when we were greeted by a young person we could see that she was very annoyed and was staring at us with an arrogant look. When we had a spot we went to order something. I ordered a coke for 4.95, which I thought was very expensive. My friend didn't have to do anything, but the waitress forced her to order a drink, she said: 'Consumption is actually mandatory here.' We left after 15 minutes because it was very expensive and there was no spark in the coke. We understand that the waitress might not have had her day, but we didn't really think the experience was great. (Cats were very sweet)

I had lunch here with my friend, but it was not very pleasant in my experience. When entering the cat cafe you have to ring a bell and wait until someone receives you. The person who did that immediately exuded a kind of "attitude" in my opinion, as she addressed us in a tone that immediately made me feel somewhat uncomfortable. This was the same with how she took our order. We had looked at the menu for a while so that we could also order something for lunch, but immediately after taking our drinks she walked away before I or my friend could continue ordering and then just leaned a bit and got bored with the staff. chatting in the kitchen. After a few moments of trying to find eye contact, we still couldn't order for lunch, so we decided to verbally ask the cafe (while there were other people sitting next to us) if we could order something. Finally, when we were taking our order and my friend asked for a chicken wrap, the waiter responded in an annoyed manner by saying or "correcting" that it was not called a chicken wrap but a chicken wrap. I found this very antisocial as in my experience we came together there to have a “nice” lunch and not for some language lesson. The food was excellent everywhere, although my chocolate milk glass/cup looked quite dirty, which I also thought was a bit strange considering you pay quite a bit of money for it all (€7.50). But all right to end this review: Food was excellent and seeing the cats/cats was very touching. The atmosphere and service, again in my opinion, could have been a bit better and as far as the costs are concerned, I can also understand some understanding, as running such a cafe with 8 cats might cost a bit, but only 43 euros for the two of us. I thought it was quite a lot to have lunch somewhere. Despite everything, I did give a tip of seven euros because I want the best with the cats and the maintenance of the animals and the business.

It's really nice how you sit there among the cats. We were warmly welcomed, and fortunately there was room, we had not made a reservation. So that was a stroke of luck. I didn't look at the prices when ordering, I was shocked when paying. Hot chocolate for 5 euros and with whipped cream 6.50. Whipped cream from a spray can. The wrap was over 15 euros and my healthy sandwich was over 12. Pffff. I really like it there, the service was also friendly, although it was actually too busy, there were two employees, the place was full and there were always people in the lock wanting to get in. I won't go there again, really too expensive. Sorry.

My visit was unfortunately very disappointing. We entered spontaneously and were received reasonably well by a young lady, but after that the atmosphere started to become awkward. My 9 year old son was super excited to finally go to a cat cafe so we were happy to get a table. When I ordered two sandwiches with only cheese, I unfortunately received a sandwich with ham. Since I haven't eaten meat for 10 years, I felt very uncomfortable when I accidentally took a bite. I then went to the kitchen, where the lady there was friendly and quickly understood the problem. She indicated that the waitress should listen more carefully. Unfortunately, I received no response or apology from the waitress herself. In the end we got a new sandwich, which I appreciated, but I was disappointed that no real apology or empathy was shown by the person who took our sandwiches. She then gave us the cold shoulder. You can love cats but I love all animals! When we went to pay, I had another bad experience. The young lady was extremely rude and had an unprofessional attitude when my pass didn't work right away. Whether I had cash or another card! I indicated that my card should just work and they might have a problem, but with an attitude they said that that was absolutely not the case. Second attempt he just did it and I said, well look done! She responded curtly and rudely, without any attempt to end the conversation kindly. There was no 'thank you', no 'goodbye', nothing at all. It was a disappointing experience. I would have preferred if the staff as a whole showed a little more respect and friendliness, especially in an environment where you as a customer come to relax. We visited the cat cafe with two children and two adults. The children were calm and adhered to house rules. However, I still felt a bit uneasy and kept an eye on it. We had received a gift voucher for high tea. Unfortunately, the receipt did not state that we should have indicated this in advance and we could not be helped with a high tea. This is clearly stated on the website (but I only saw that afterwards, after we had been to the cat cafe). We were not allowed to exchange the voucher for a regular lunch, which is a shame. The food is not very special and you pay quite a lot for it. On top of that there is an entrance fee (fortunately children are free).

If you're lucky, they might even join you at your table, much like Mr. Bojangles Jr. whom graced us with his presence as my friend and I caught up 😸 The staff was friendly, and the tea was lovely. The service was good. The brownie was dry and fell apart on the floor. The cat caretakers were very busy and kept picking up the cats. Even though the cats did give signals, she did not pick up on this. Some cats seemed stressed. I doubt the cats also have a secluded place where they can retreat from the crowd.

A really nice cafe! We were there for high tea, and it was SO delicious and fun!!! Really great, I would definitely come again. The high tea only costs around €25 per person. And you really get a lot of food and drinks! There were three of us and we certainly had enough of everything! Also a really nice atmosphere here!

We went to the Kattencafé for the first time today and loved everything about it. The cats are sooooo cute and have places to retreat everywhere. House rules, which can be viewed in the store and on the website, ensure that all customers treat the cats with respect and care and that they do not lack anything. The local cats mainly come from the animal shelter and have found a nice, temporary home in the cat café. The employees are super nice and accommodating and treat the cats very sweetly. The coffee and toasties were delicious and in addition to the cute cats, there were also all sorts of little things that you could take home with you. Since the shop is quite small, it is best to reserve a table in advance on the website. We really enjoyed our stay!

Try to call to get in with a wheelchair. Calls are not returned, I have emailed in the past and no response. I don't think this is possible under the guise of being customer friendly. You will be told when you can come with a wheelchair, otherwise they cannot help you. So as a disabled person you are already dependent on people and now even more provisions for a nice outing. Too bad it has to be this way. Maybe I'll get a response one way or another now.

Went today with (and for) my daughter. Lady at the counter very friendly. However, prices are disproportionately high. Never before in the catering industry have I had to pay an entrance fee. Two drinks and entrance total 20 euros. Costs today are high, I also understand. But this is not in proportion. My daughter had a good time, that's what I wanted to do, but never again.

We visited the cat café during a day trip to Groningen. Of course, the cats are the absolute highlight, but the drinks we enjoyed were also delicious (fresh orange juice and chai latte). During our visit, Moby in particular was very trusting and let let us cuddle him extensively. Definitely a recommendation for cat fans and animal lovers! 😻❤️

Busy café, reservations are absolutely essential. If you are unexpectedly late, your table will simply be given away. I had booked a table of 6 for an 11 year old girl from Australia to celebrate her birthday, the table was given away upon arrival. We were asked to leave the cafe immediately. Did something crazy today. We went to the upside down cat cafe for lunch. Had a chicken wrap for 15.50. That is the most expensive thing on the menu, a sandwich is much cheaper and you have some tasty cakes on the menu. You have to take into account that you pay something for the 'entertainment'. Such a lovely cafe, regardless of the cats! It has a cosy atmosphere with good food - we got the chicken and pesto toasties, which were tasty. The cats are so sweet and you can tell they are very loved and well-looked after. The staff were also really lovely. Highly highly recommend! I’ve been to my share of cat cafes and this is my favourite so far. Kitten Charlie is simply the cutest lil thing!

We have a cat ourselves and our children were very quiet with the cats in this Café, but we felt very watched by the employees. There was no cozy atmosphere, even though it was very quiet we were pointed to a place with uncomfortable chairs, why can't we take a seat in a place of our choice? The entrance fees they charge seem superfluous to me, since they charge the top prize for the simple and sumptuous breads and toasties. It is not worth repeating... a nice concept but not quite achieved in the right way

This place can be rather hostile and intimidating at times. They're absolutely short-staffed, as the same person who controls the door entrance also tends to serve coffee, receive payments, look for the cats and everything else. Staff should also be trained on how to be more pleasant and polite.
